Not Updated For Current Season
This guide has not yet been updated for the current season. Please keep this in mind while reading. You can see the most recently updated guides on the browse guides page
Ahri can be quite easy or difficult depending on if she starts snowballing or not. Her Orb of Deception makes her hart to hit with Flash Frost early game. Post 6, if she goes all in, remember her Charm doesn't stop your Glacial Storm channel.
Akali
Akali's early game is her major weakness so you have to punish her. When she goes to last hit in melee range throw a Flash Frost -> Frostbite combo. Post 6, try to keep your Glacial Storm around yourself if she goes in on you.
Anivia
Anivia is the best champ ever and you will have so many omelets. In all seriousness, I have rarely had an Anivia vs Anivia match up before so I can't help much.
Annie
Annie is very immobile and slow which makes it fairly easy to hit her with Flash Frost -> Frostbite early game. Beware of her level 6 combo as it has a devastating 245% AP bonus a long with a stun. Ask for a few ganks on her and she should be smaller then a toddler.
Azir
I am yet to come across an amazing Azir player. The recent nerf to his soldier attack range will help Anivia's long range poke. He has two spells that can stop your Glacial Storm channel. Try to save your Flash Frost for when he tries to Shifting Sands towards you. He's quite immobile without Shifting Sands so make use of your amazing zoning ability.
Brand
A good Brand will try to Conflagration you as much as possible for the poke. His pre 6 combo has a 180-195% bonus AP damage which is insanely huge so beware of that. He is extremely immobile and has an unreliable stun, tell your jungler to gank as much as you can to put out his flame. When he goes to Conflagration you he'll walk in a straight line setting up an easy Flash Frost -> Frostbite combo.
Cassiopeia
Be very careful of Cassiopeia's! She has an extreme amount of poke early game with her Noxious Blast -> Twin Fang, and as Anivia has very low movement speed you will probably get hit by a bit more then a few. In a 1v1 vs Cassiopeia, you will usually always lose unless you can burst her, her DPS is much higher along with her sustain. Her Petrifying Gaze can cancel your Glacial Storm as well.
Cho'Gath
Big Mr. Cho'Gath can be quite a nuisance in lane with his Carnivore sustain, however he can quite easily be ganked/bursted in the middle lane. Later in the game, beware of his silence and knock up while you have Glacial Storm active.
Diana
Diana is in a weak spot right now. A good Diana will use Crescent Strike to poke in lane however if you land a couple Flash Frost -> Frostbite combos when she goes to last hit you will force her to use Crescent Strike to last hit minions with. Post 6, if she Lunar Rushes to you, wait for her to Moonfall before placing down your Glacial Storm and Flash Frost. You will take a little bit more damage but you will deal more damage to her in the long run.
Fiddlesticks
Silly Fiddlesticks, go back to your jungle. If there is a Fiddlesticks in mid, get an early point in Crystallize as it stops his Drain channel and can also stop his Crowstorm windup. Save Glacial Storm for waveclear and shove him under tower as his last hitting is really bad under tower.
Fizz
Fizz can be quite tricky to deal with later on, but early game is his weakness. Stay close to your minions in lane, and use your Flash Frost stun only if he's really close to you getting a last hit or if he goes you, if he is slow with playful use it while he is mid Urchin Strike or after her lands from Trickster. A Zhonya's Hourglass is quite efficient for blocking a lot of damage from Chum the Waters.
Galio
Galio is a Magic Resistance tank so be prepared to rush a Void Staff/Liandry's Torment against him. If you can use Glacial Storm to shove him under tower, he'll have to use his only two damaging abilties to last hit with giving you a lot of room to breathe and roam. If Galio has flashed into your team and has used Idol of Durand, throw a Crystallize on his face to stop his channel.
Gragas
As Anivia has no mobility prepare to eat a fair few Barrel Rolls. Use Flash Frost -> Frostbite if he goes to last hit a minion and punish him with auto attacks. It's hard to get Gragas low due to his Happy Hour sustain and hard to gank due to Body Slam, so focus on last hitting minions with Glacial Storm and start roaming. Be extremely careful later on due to Explosive Cask, it can put you in a real bad spot and cancel Glacial Storm.
Heimerdinger
Do not expect any ganks from your jungler, as Heimerdinger can easily secure a double kill with his turrets. Pre 6, auto attack minions as much as possible getting last hits because his turrets will push you under tower fast. Post 6, use your Glacial Storm on his turrets to destroy them in a few ticks while wiping out minions at the same time. While Heimerdinger is under tower with no turrts, he will struggle with last hitting so feel free to now poke him with Flash Frost -> Frostbite or roam. Late game, Heimerdinger is really easy to catch out with Crystallize as he has no escape abilities.
Jayce
Be careful of his Shock Blast by standing behind minions (remember AoE). Try pushing him under tower as much as you can, as you probably won't be able to kill him straight up. Post 6, feel free to poke him with Glacial Storm -> Frostbite saving Flash Frost for when he runs straight at you. He can be quite easily ganked in the mid lane from behind so ask for a gank or two while in laning phase.
Karma
Beware of getting tethered by Focused Resolve as you will take a lot of follow up damage from Inner Flame. She lacks reliable waveclear so pushing her under tower is a very good idea. Hitting her with a chilled Frostbite can be quite difficult due to her Inspire.
Karthus
Karthus is quite weak early game as long as you dodge his Lay Wastes (Try very hard not to get hit as a single target from Lay Waste). His low mobility means that the Flash Frost -> Frostbite combo should be easy to pull off. If he goes all in on you, counter it by stunning him inside your Glacial Storm and Frostbites. If he is winning the fight, wall him away from you, otherwise wall him inside your Glacial Storm. Be careful of turning into Eggnivia as his Lay Waste double damage is very easy to hit.
Kassadin
Start Crystalline Flask and get ready to have a hard match-up. Pre-6 it's hard to poke him with Flash Frost -> Frostbite as he will usually get off a Null Sphere shield to negate the Frostbite damage. Post 6 be careful as his Null Sphere can cancel your Glacial Storm. If he Rift Walks to go all in on you, wait for him to Null Sphere you before you Flash Frost stun him in your Glacial Storm. His mobility makes it hard to catch him out with Crystallize. Try to outfarm and push him under tower with Glacial Storm.
Katarina
Get ready to eat Bouncing Blades for breakfast. Very hard to hit Flash Frost due to Shunpo, so only use after Shunpo is on cooldown or if she is really close to you and you can instant stun. Grab an early level in Crystallize as it can stop her Death Lotus channel. She won't get a reset on your egg so you can use that as a bait for a gank but beware of that. Grab a Crystalline instead of a Doran's Ring early game.
Kayle
Kayle is a fairly easy match-up as she walks in a straight line to get to you. If she sends her Reckoning at you and starts to attack you with Righteous Fury, just send a Flash Frost straight ahead and follow up with a Frostbite before walking away. Post 6 if she is silly enough to try to go all in on you, stun her with Flash Frost inside your Glacial Storm and go to work on her. Glacial Storm will reduce her Attack Speed by a bit reducing the damage you will receive.
LeBlanc
Leblanc can be an odd lane, I don't have that much trouble with her anymore since her silence was removed but her burst damage is the same. She can quite easily dodge Flash Frost with her Distortion. As Distortion is her only main tool for waveclear under tower, if you can push her under tower with Glacial Storm and make her use her Distortion, she won't be able to assassinate you and it will be easier to hit Flash Frost. If you do get caught by her Ethereal Chains, try to flash out of the snare range or stun her with Flash Frost. Crystallize is fairly useless against Leblanc as her Distortion means she can escape very easily.
Lissandra
Lissandra is quite a short range mage, and should be fairly easy to deal with her in lane. Careful about standing behind minions because of her Ice Shard, so I tend to stand to the side of minions. If your jungler comes to gank Lissandra, try to stun her while she's Glacial Pathing away. The best way for the stun, is to get the very tip for a fast stun. Mercury's Treads are a good way to make her Crowd Control weaker. Be very careful of ganks post 6 due to her Frozen Tomb -> Jungle follow-up.
Lulu
Dodge her Glitterlances in lane and you will be fine. If she uses Help, Pix! on you be ready for a Glitterlance. I usually make a dive straight down or up (what ever side you've warded) so you'll be able to see if a Jungler is there. Post 6 beware of trying to kill her as she can bait you into a bad situation with Wild Growth so play passive against her.
Lux
Lux has good waveclear pre 6 with her Lucent Singularity and Illumination. Be very careful of her Light Binding as it can snare two enemies which makes it easy for her to set up ganks. Be careful of going all in on her with ignite because her Prismatic Barrier will block most of the damage. Post 6 Lux will be able to 100 -> 0 most champions with low magic resistance, so building a little bit of magic resistance and health is nice. Try to not get too aggressive with Crystallize as you will usually walk in a straight line to do so, setting up an easy Light Binding.
Malzahar
Malzahar is in a very nice sleeping over powered state right now. His waveclear is very strong with Malefic Visions and very hard to stop him from clearing. It will be very hard to hit him with Flash Frost as he will be quite far back, so try to last hit minions as well as you can, trying not to get hit with Malefic Visions. Post 6 he can easily set up ganks with his Nether Grasp which is a 2.5 second suppression and will deal a huge amount of damage. The best way I find to beat Malzahar is hard engage as he won't be able to set up his damage and also take as many Dragon's as you can, because he's a sitting duck by himself without any vision.
Mordekaiser
Mordekaiser is getting a change in patch 5.4 I believe, but at the moment Anivia does really well against. Use your Flash Frost -> Frostbite when he goes to last hit minions. Mordekaiser has really good waveclear especially with Siphon of Destruction which you will be careful about not getting by it. The removal of Deathfire Grasp means he won't be able to 100 -> 0 many champions anymore. Post 6 use Glacial Storm -> Frostbite as much as you can as it will slowly whittle him down.
Morgana
Morgana can very easily push Anivia under tower early in the game with Tormented Soil on the caster minions. Hitting Morgana with a Flash Frost is quite easy as she has low mobility however her Black Shield will prevent her from being stunned or chilled. Post 6, Morgana's Black Shield will stop Glacial Storm chill effect leaving Frostbite to deal half its damage. Be careful of getting too close to Morgana or getting hit by her Dark Binding as she can deal a lot of damage with her combo. Abuse her low range spells with Crystallize to catch her out or force her to Black Shield someone that is not a threat.
Nidalee
Nidalee is in a very strong spot right now with her burst combo and high damage Javelin Toss. In lane if you get Hunted by a Javelin Toss or Bushwhack, if she tries to Pounce on you, it is very easy to throw a Flash Frost -> Frostbite at her as she will jump in a straight line. Her sustain can make it quite hard to kill her without a gank. Post 6 it gets easier to beat Nidalee as you can push her under tower with Glacial Storm and watch her try to last hit under tower. Throw some wards on the side post 6 and try to punish her if she tries to waveclear as a cougar under tower.
Orianna
Orianna can be a pain in lane due to her zone, waveclear and shield. As Anivia is very slow you will probably get hit by a few Command: Attack and Command: Dissonance unless you can predict where she will place the ball. Be careful about going in for a Flash Frost -> Frostbite, as she can shield herself with Command: Protect and counter attack you with Command: Attack -> Command: Dissonance with empowered auto attacks. Post 6 be very careful of her Command: Shockwave as it is very easy to set up ganks and will cancel your Glacial Storm. Playing passive against Orianna is the best way to win lane against her. If her ball is far away from her it will be harder to shield your Frostbite.
Riven
Riven's mobility can be a problem with her having 4 pre 6 dashes. As she will have to last hit minions with her auto attacks, it should be fairly easy to get close to her for a quick Flash Frost stun with a Frostbite follow-up before she can Valor and shield the damage. Post 6 keep your distance from a riven as she can quite easily close a gap on you and nuke you, so always be prepared to throw a Flash Frost at her if she tries to be too aggressive.
Swain
Buy a Morellonomicon instead of an Athenes Unholy Grail so Anivia can inflict grievous wounds so Swain's Ravenous Flock won't sustain him as much. By getting Morellonomicon you will be sacrificing a decent amount of mana regeneration so you will need to be a bit more blue buff reliant. In lane be careful of his Nevermore snare as it's his way of setting up a gank. His poke damage in lane is his Torment -> Decrepify which if this happens try to get away from the Decrepify. Swain will become a mid game god from his ultimate Ravenous Flock, but hopefully with your Morellonomicon and Anivia's high amount of crowd control he should die.
Syndra
Syndra's nerfs hit her hard with her stun from Scatter the Weak not hitting as often as it did. Pre 6 she'll be summoning Dark Sphere's on you or using them to wave clear with. Remember in lane try not to stand parallel with Syndra and a Dark Sphere otherwise she will use Scatter the Weak to stun you and deal some big damage. Be careful of Flash Frost -> Frostbite as you will be walking in a straight line to Frostbite her which will leave you open for a Syndra Combo. Post 6 her ultimate Unleashed Power with a few Dark Spheres can put you into your egg really fast. Be really careful of her single target burst damage post 6. Try to push her under turret and make her use her mana and spells to last hit.
Talon
Talon is quite weak early, so get ready to throw some Flash Frost -> Frostbites at him. Be careful of a Cutthroat behind you when you send a Flash Frost at him. If you get hit by his Rake after level 3 back out otherwise he may Cutthroat to you and Noxian Diplomacy you dealing extra damage due to Mercy. Post 6 Talon's wave clear will be quite good with Rake and his all in damage is quite high so beware of getting combo'd. Save your Flash Frost mid/late game for when Talon jumps to someone. Upgrade your trinket to a pink ward or oracles as soon as possible.
Teemo
Pre 6, Teemo doesn't have much all in potential and has to run in a straight line to poke you with Blinding Dart which makes Flash Frost a bit easier to hit. His Move Fast will make him quite nimble and able to dodge your Flash Frost if you throw one randomly. Post 6 be careful of his Noxious Trap's so upgrading your trinket for invisible detection at level 9 is quite useful. Glacial Storm slows his attack speed, reducing his maximum damage output and quite easy to Frostbite while he is in it. A good seige Crytallize can catch a Teemo out from his team while he's going to plant Noxious Traps.
Twisted Fate
Twisted Fate can push waves and poke quite fast with Wild Cards and Pick a Card so auto attack minions while going for last hits. Get an early level in Crystallize as it can stop his Gate channel. Remember to call MIA's when he pushes a wave and tell your team mates to be careful of overextending. If Twisted Fate can't get fed off his ultimate he won't be that useful late game when your team groups up. A good Crystallize can stop him from doing anything.
Veigar
Veigar is seeing a small rework next patch. Veigar's will usually want to try to Baleful Strike as many minions as they can during laning phase to increase their AP. When a minion gets to about half health be ready to throw a Flash Frost at him when he goes in to Baleful Strike it. Don't build as much Ability Power against Veigar as his Primordial Blast will 100 -> 0 Anivia. Build penetration and some magic resistance. Mercury's Treads can stop Veigar from setting up his Combo by reducing the stun length on Event Horizon. With the removal of Deathfire Grasp, Veigar won't usually be able to nuke someone as easily.
Vel'Koz
Vel'Koz has extremely good waveclear all game with his Void Rift. His Plasma Fission is a low mana cost poke ability which can set up his combo with it's slow. It can be quite hard getting a Frostbite on him as he can predict where you will move and get off his Organic Deconstruction. Be very careful about becoming an egg as his spells are on a fairly short cooldown and have long range. Post 6 it can still be hard to hit him with Glacial Storm -> Frostbite so keep up farming and try to catch him on a rotation with Crystallize.
Viktor
Be very careful of Viktor as his Siphon Power can shield lots of your Frostbite damage early game and will deal a lot of damage on his next auto attack as you'll be in range from Frostbiting him. His Death Ray is Viktors waveclear and poke so when it is on cooldown, you won't have to worry about one or the other. Viktor is usually very hard to kill in a 1 on 1 situation as his Gravity Field and Chaos Storm will cancel your Glacial Storm channel and stun/silence you for a while. Against Viktor picking up some Mercurcy's Treads is a smart idea. Best way to kill Viktor is by picking him off with Crystallize from a poor rotation.
Xerath
I believe Xerath is Anivia's biggest secret counter. His Arcanpulse extremely good for pushing waves early while poking you at the same time. Be very careful about going to Frostbite him after hitting him with Flash Frost as he will get a long stun on you with Shocking Orb allowing him to get a huge combo off. His mana sustain from Mana Surge means he will usually stay in lane a lot longer then you. Post 6, call MIA's on Xerath as his Rite of the Arcane can deal some serious damage from very far away. Best way to deal with Xerath is with a Flask and playing quite passively while trying to bait him into a gank.
Yasuo
I find Yasuo to be quite weak at the moment with his very low base health. As Anivia has a long auto attack range, it is quite easy to trigger his Resolve shield allowing him to take full damage from a Flash Frost -> Frostbite combo. The best time to use your combo is after he has used Sweeping Blade, as he cannot use it again for 0.5 seconds. Being close to minions to get an instant stun is the best way to do this. Post 6, It can be quite useful to bait his Windwall with a Glacial Storm -> Auto Attack, as he will think it is a Frostbite, leaving him vulnerable when Glacial Storm comes off cooldown. Beware of becoming an egg in the open as Yasuo has very high DPS with his Auto Attacks and Steel Tempest.
Zed
Rushing a Zhonya's is quite effective against Zed as it can block his Death Mark. Beware in lane as getting hit by his Razor Shuriken can chunk Anivia. Beware of fighting him out of tower range as his Contempt for the Weak passive can do a surprising amount of damage leaving you extremely vulnerable in egg form. This lane can be quite difficult as Post 6 a good Zed will dodge your Frostbite with his Death Mark negating a lot of damage. Saving Flash Frost for when he goes in on you is a smart idea. If Zed gets a couple of kills, the lane will be extremely hard to deal with.
Ziggs
Ziggs is an extremely passive/poke lane with his excellent waveclear and poke. It can be quite hard to hit a Flash Frost on Ziggs as he doesn't like to stand still very often, but if you do manage to hit him with Flash Frost, a Frostbite can devastate him as he is very squishy. Pre 6 as long as you dodge his Bouncing Bombs and are able to last hit minions, you will scale well into mid game. Post 6 it can be quite hard to seige a tower with Ziggs around due to his excellent waveclear. His Satchel Charge allows Ziggs to cancel your Glacial Storm channel and jump over your Crystallize.
Zilean
Zilean is getting a slight change in an upcoming patch. At the moment Zilean's Time Bomb's do a lot of damage to Anivia as she has very low base health. Hitting Zilean with Flash Frost can be quite hard as he has a huge movement speed buff from Timewarp and will leave you very vulnerable to his double Time Bomb combo. Post 6 Zilean will be a nuisance to kill due to Chrono Shift however, as Zilean only has one damaging ability, leaving him alive for 7 seconds isn't very threatening. As he cannot escape past Crystallize he can be quite easy to gank and kill.
Zyra
Zyra isn't a very strong champion in the middle lane any more and isn't that strong against Anivia. After hitting a Flash Frost be careful about going on for a Frostbite as her Grasping Roots will go in a straight line allowing her to hit her full combo on you. Her AP ratio's aren't very high so she won't scale too hard into late game with damage. Post 6 she can be quite easy to hit with Glacial Storm -> Frostbite and Glacial Storm is very strong at taking her plants out in a few ticks. If both of you die at the same time, you will win as her Rise of the Thorns will not be able to kill your egg.
These assassins love to 100-0 their target by dealing a lot of magic damage. The job of these runes is to make sure you will have health left over no matter what stage the game is at, laning phase to teamfights.
By taking greater mark of hybrid penetration you will lose 2.34 magic penetration compared to Greater Mark of Magic Penetration or 3.42 armour penetration compared to greater mark of armor penetration.
Lets compare amour penetrations against a level 1 and 18 Nidalee with 15 and 74 armour respectively;
Note : Frostbite will deal double damage with the chill debuff
It's a matter of opinion depending on what marks you want to run, however I will usually take greater mark of hybrid penetration for a bit more early game harass and farming while essentially losing no damage late game with my strong spells.
Flash makes up a small bit for Anivia's very low mobility. This will help you escape death multiple times and also give you a few kills. Really too important to not have.
Ignite is an amazing summoner spell to add a little more damage early game to secure a kill or to inflict grievous wounds onto the unkillable Dr. Mundo.
Heal is just so strong in this patch. I will usually use this spell over Ignite if I'm versing a LeBlanc or an Akali and focus on farming and playing super passive.
Viable Summoner Spells
Exhaust can be amazing when versing a Zed to decrease his damage output by 50%.
Teleport can be a very handy summoner spell to have. Stop split pushers like Tryndamere with your amazing waveclear. Get back to lane after being bursted by a LeBlanc. Turn a 2v2 bot lane into a 3v2 with a nice ward teleport.
This is my general leveling up sequence for Anivia's abilities.
Pre 6 I usually won't put any levels in Crystallize because I'll want more damage output from Flash Frost and Frostbite.
Maxing Frostbite will mean your single target burst damage will be extremely high, which is the best for the laning phase as you can poke out your enemy with the chill -> Frostbite combo.
When we start maxing Crystallize we'll have a huge wall that we can use in a variety of ways. Click here for the different walls
Two early levels into Flash Frost will increase the base damage by 60 which will really help push your enemy out of lane after landing a nice Flash Frost-> Frostbite combo. Later on your Flash Frost will be an excellent tool in waveclear, penta stuns and damage output. If you have this as your level 1 spell, it is an excellent invade tool as it is a ranged stun that deals 120 base damage. Glacial Storm is Anivia's spell of waveclear, zoning and controlling a fight. A well places Glacial Storm can zone out their AP carry and AD carry while your team destroys 3 of their team.
In my personal opinion, I will usually stick with Chalice of Harmony and catalyst the protector unless I am versing an AD Heavy team which then I would get Tear of the Goddess and catalyst the protector
Boots and Enchantments
Boots are very important to Anivia due to her low movement speed. You should pick up Boots fairly early in the game, but what boots would you get next?
Sorcerer's Shoes will increase damage output and improve movement speed. I will usually always buy these unless...
Mercury's Treads are extremely useful when going against a heavy crowd control team or if your laner has a lot of crowd control/high burst magic damage like LeBlanc
Enchantment: Homeguard is still an amazing enchantment, however after the nerf I will only buy this if we're losing and need the hyper movement speed while turtling in base
Late Game Items
Will provide a HUGEability power spike with the flat and % increase.
Improves the sustained damage by Anivia, a good buy against high hp teams like Dr. Mundo.
If you can't kill that pesky Malphite or Amumu due to their high magic resistance, you should definitely buy this item. >100 magic resist this item will become essential.
I buy this item when I'm versing AD Heavy teams. As I won't have the Cooldown Reduction from Athene's Unholy Grail this item will give me 20% along with armour and mana.
Guess how many lives I will have with Rebirth up? 3! along with the armour and magic resist bonuses, this item is a handy pick up.
Frostbite has a small range, so the passive from Abyssal Mask will be active. It also gives nice magic resist and ability power.
An amazing game changing passive and a lot of magic resistance. That pesky LeBlanc won't get off her full combo on you anymore.
By looking at these damage comparisons we can see that Void Staff will outdamage a Rabadon's Deathcap by 110 Magic Resist stage. This is why generally you should always buy a Void Staffmid-late game for the amazing damage benefit. A Void Staff is also a lot cheaper then a Rabadon's Deathcap. The price of Sorcerer's Shoes is so cheap for the damage increase it gives. I hope this section has helped give you more of an insight on penetration and ability power.
In this section I will go over the different types of walls you can pull off!
#1 The Stall Wall
Used to Defend the Outer Turrets and Inner Turrets.
The Stall Wall is a wall which prevents the enemy team from Sieging.
By examining the picture, the light blue line represents Crystallize and the darker blue circle represents Glacial Storm. By having the Crystallize wall up at that point, means the enemy champions or minions cannot go through that way and have to go through Anivia's Glacial Storm to get to tower, which is represented by the dark red circle.
You want to throw a Frostbite at the cannon minion as it worth a lot of gold.
Best time to use this wall is if you have a really hard split pusher like Udyr or Tryndamere and you want to prevent the enemy team from sieging a 4v5 under tower.
#2 The Siege Wall
Used to Siege all Turrets and Catch out enemy Champions.
This Siege Wall is used to safely Poke enemy Towers and to Catch out Champions without Escapes.
This picture shows that the tower is now the enemy's outter turret. Anivia's Crystallize has caught Kayle on the wrong side of the wall. Kayle will now have a couple of choices; Fight, Flash or Run through Glacial Storm. In a Siege situation, throw a couple of auto attacks onto the enemy turret as the enemy champions will not be able to do much to stop you unless they have long gap closers, long poke or long waveclear.
I love using this wall to catch someone off guard and turn a 5v5 into a 4v5.
These are match-ups that are in your favor, however still be careful of a good player.
4 / 10
Brand
Versing Brand is fairly easy. As long as you can dodge his Sear from stunning you, you'll be fine. Hitting your Flash Frost has never been easier with his low mobility.
Focus on getting as many last hits as you can pre 6. With Glacial Storm you can kill his turrets in a few ticks while still clearing a whole minion wave. If Heimerdinger does not have any turrets up, he has trouble farming, so make sure his turrets are dead, and he'll be easy as pie late game.
Lux is fairly easy to beat, just make sure to dodge her Light Binding. Lux will most likely stop moving when she starts casting her spells, so capitalize on that by stunning her with Flash Frost in your Glacial Storm. Don't get baited with her Prismatic Barrier as it acts as two shields.
Ryze has really short range with his spells and auto attacks. He also has no real gap closers so a good Flash Frost stun in a Glacial Storm should hurt him A LOT!
2 / 10
Twisted Fate
Make sure to call MIA during a Destiny and you're all good. Note that Crystallize on Twisted Fate's face will stop him from teleporting. Just farm with Glacial Storm and hit him whenever you can.
This is a serious farm festival! Be careful of Satchel Charge as it will stop Glacial Storm's channel. Ziggs isn't the most mobile champions, so a good all in combo can work really well. Make sure Rebirth is up before going all in however.
Skill Match-ups
Skill match-ups are fairly even and usually the better player should win. Careful of letting your lane snowball.
This girl is very easy to handle early game, however post 6 she becomes quite a bit harder to deal with. Akali has no abilities to stop Glacial Storm's channel so when she jumps on you, you should ult at your feet and hit a point blank Flash Frost followed by a Frostbite. Use Crystallize so she cant escape your Glacial Storm
7 / 10
Annie
Annie has terrible ranged waveclear, so you'd want to try to group and seige towers. There is not much you can do if you get Summon: Tibbers. Make sure you watch her Pyromania stacks, and when she has none, that would be your best time to go in for a kill.
6 / 10
Cassiopeia
You might have a bit of trouble against a pre 6 Cassiopeia due to her waveclear and damage output. post 6 try not to auto attack her very much as that's when she will use Petrifying Gaze on you. Crystallize can be used very well to cut her off when she tried to escape.
Glitterlance is an amazing waveclear and poke tool that Lulu has. If you can dodge most of her spells you will be fine in lane. Don't try to go all in on her post 6 due to her ultimate Wild Growth. Frostbite-> Glacial Storm will provide a lot of poke post 6. You will outscale Lulu in damage by about mid game.
5 / 10
Malzahar
Malzahar is definitely under played at the moment, however he could quite possibly have the easiest minion wave clear ability with Malefic Visions. He has really low mobility so a good Flash Frost stun within Glacial Storm will hurt him quite a bit, but be ready to lose a lot of health from Nether Grasp. Post 6 your farming should be on par with his.
6 / 10
Nidalee
Probably my most hated champion in League of Legends. Post 6 when she goes into cougar form to waveclear, try and stun her in your Glacial Storm and Frostbite her. Use Crystallize after she has used Pounce. In teamfights, if you can catch her out, make sure to burst her hard due to her heals.
6 / 10
Orianna
Orianna is quite a tough match-up for Anivia however post 6 we can just farm minions then go farm jungle camps. Be careful when you go all in on her as her Command: Shockwave will stop the Glacial Storm channel. Late game, she has no mobility so a good Crystallize blocking her from getting through will either mean she'll die or use Flash.
7 / 10
Syndra
First off, you'll want some Magic Resist for this match-up as she will want to be targeting either you or the Marksman on your team. In team fights you can bait her to use Unleashed Power if you have Rebirth up to reduce her damage output by a lot. While laning verse her, try to dodge as many Dark Spheres as you can and try to focus on farming.
6 / 10
Xerath
Xerath is actually quite strong against Anivia due to her low mobility and focus on long range. It is quite hard to hit Flash Frost on him because he'll be quite far away so best way is to farm until you get a gank which then use Crystallize to block him from running. In team fights, a good Crystallize blocking him from kiting can be very beneficial.

Yasuo
While laning vs Yasuo try to break his Way of the Wanderer shield by throwing a long range auto attack at him. If he tries to go all in on you, throw a Flash Frost at your feet and Frostbite him. Try and bait his Wind Wall with your auto attacks. Walk to the side to use Frostbite if he has his wall up. In team fights, Anivia can really stop Yasuo by stunning him after he has used his ultimate.
Hard Match-ups
This lane is a hard one, however it can still be easily won by skill, experience and precision.

Diana
A good Diana can be a scary match up post 6. Her Moonfall can stop Glacial Storms channel, and her immense sticking power is hard to deal with due to Anivia's low mobility. In team fights, try to Flash Frost stun her when she Lunar Rushes to an ally or yourself. Easy to Crystallize when she is running away.
The new Kassadin hits like a truck and after fixing his Null Sphere to stop Glacial Storm he has become more a pain to deal with. A good idea would be to shut down early so he doesn't reach his power spike until much later in the game. Post 6 save your Flash Frost for after he uses Riftwalk. Save your Glacial Storm for after he Null Spheres you as well. Late game don't worry about chasing him as Anivia is almost useless at chasing a Kassadin.

Leblanc
LeBlanc is just so strong right now! She has so much single target crowd control so an early Mercury's Treads is a good buy. Lots of Magic Resist would be very good as well as her target is you. Last hit as many minions as you can Pre 6, as there isn't much else Anivia can do. Post 6, you can harrass her a bit with Frostbite-> Glacial Storm as she won't have much Magic Resist at all. Focus on out scaling her by team fights.

Talon
A good Talon is the scariest thing ever, good thing there isn't many good Talons. Don't use Flash Frost often in lane, because he will just cutthroat to you and nuke you. call MIA as Talon loves to roam and pick up kills. Throw auto attacks at him and poke him as much as you can as he is melee and has weak early game. Picking up an Oracle's Lens at level 9 can stop him going invisible from Shadow Assault.

Zed
Buy Zhonya's Hourglass in this match-up, it will stop his Death Mark from dealing any damage. If he has used Living Shadow to farm, that is your best chance to go in for a kill. Dodge his Razor Shurikenpoke and you should stay at a decent high health. Zed falls off a bit in team fights however can still deal a huge amount of damage and run away, make sure you use Zhonya's Hourglass.
