How does Kayle support build after the pre-season changes? I've wanted to play her but don't want to throw by accident.

Im in the process of updating the guide right now, but if you're interested in a good item build, here is what I think is the best right now for AP:

Start: Doran's Ring or Doran's Blade
Rush: Leeching Leer + Boots
Get 1st: Nashor's Tooth
Then: Riftmaker
Core: Rabadon's Deathcap, Lich Bane
Flex last item: Cosmic Drive, Demonic Embrace, Zhonya's Hourglass, Rylai's Crystal Scepter

Reason that I don't think Riftmaker needs to be immediately rushed is because it's not very good by itself. However, the stats of Leeching Leer is just really good: gives omnivamp, AP, and HP, so that's why we go Leeching Leer first then Nashor's then Riftmaker.

For AD, the best Mythics are Kraken Slayer and Eclipse. For more defense, you can also go imortal shieldbow but it's not as good as the first two I mentioned.

Kraken Slayer build is more like traditional marksman and Eclipse is more burst / splitpush.

For Kraken, you go Kraken Slayer > Infinity Edge > Phantom Dancer or Rapid Firecannon > Essence Reaver > flex for last item

I think omnivamp is also really strong in AD and AP builds, and the only actual option for AD is Ravenous Hydra (which now works on ranged champions). The build for that would look something like:

Kraken Slayer > Ravenous Hydra > Guinsoo's Rageblade > Runaan's Hurricane > Essence Reaver > flex last item

For Eclipse:

Eclipse > Stormrazor or Sanguine Blade > Infinity Edge > Rapid Firecannon > Essence Reaver > Flex last item

So, how do you know when to go ADC or AP Kayle, from playing the character the AP version seems to do better early game, where it takes the ADC time to build up in mid to late game.

and which runes are generally the best? Are there any youtube videos you have posted on kayle at all?

qasddsa (24) | October 26, 2020 3:30pm
AD is better when you're trying to solo carry mid - late game -- this also means it's a lot better if you get fed early on.

AP has a better one item spike ( Hextech Gunblade) but later on in the game it's harder to really solo carry with it, but it does provide some more team utility so if you don't have to be the only person carrying AP is a good choice.

In my opinion, the best rune set for AD and AP is Press the Attack + Overheal or Presence of Mind + Legend: Alacrity + Coup de Grace or Cut Down.

If I'm going AD and I'm rushing Sanguine Blade, sometimes I will go Hail of Blades depending on my matchup.

I don't really post Youtube videos but I do stream on Twitch from time to time, but I think my recent VODs have been deleted because they expired.

Thanks for the reply usually as AD id rush bork and guinsoos, but the dmg early to mid really lacked and it was hard to do much team wise or myself against other champs besides poke as much as possible.

One Synergy I'd highly suggest putting in is Jarvan IV. His ult is extremely useful with both Kayle's ult and her post lvl-11 auto attacks.

What changes would you make to this guide to make it for low elo?
1
qasddsa (24) | October 22, 2020 6:45am
A few of the changes I would make for low elo is just building Gunblade + Nashor's Tooth every game and ignoring the other build paths. I would also recommend just going Q max every game as well. That's so you can focus on the bigger ideas of the game instead of focusing on your build.

A lot of the information in the gameplay section don't really depend on having high elo teammates or having high elo enemies that act a certain way, so there isn't much I would change there.

This is absolutely one of the most detailed guides on Mobafire, and it's amazing. It's very helpful, and I commend you on helping others with such an in-depth and well written guide.
Great job!

Kayle is my second favorite character in the entire game of League of Legends, so coming across SUCH an in-depth guide pretty much made my day. It's so helpful and greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to make it!!

This is a great guide, you went so in depth about playing Kayle in each role. I hope you finish the match ups soon! When would you say Kayle power spikes (not the passive ones but like item spikes) and what's your favourite Kayle skin?
2
qasddsa (24) | September 15, 2020 6:23am
Depending on the build they're at different items:

For AP with Gunblade, the first big spike is Gunblade then second Rabadon's
For AP with Nash rush, the first big spike is Nashor's then second is Rabadon's

For AD with Bork, the first big spike is Bork + Guinsoos then the next big spike is when you get IE
For AD with DD, the first spike is at DD + PD and then next is at IE

For AD with Sanguine rush (I don't have the build listed, but it's my favorite build right now), the first big spike is Serrated Dirk, then Sanguine Blade, then Infinity Edge.

For Manamune builds, it's the completion of Muramana and then either Infinity Edge if AD or Rabadon's Deathcap if AP.

My favorite Kayle skin is Iron Inquisitor (not including Silver/Judgment) :)

The best Kayle guide in the world is back, I remember this when I first started League lol. Glad :))

Hello,

I was wondering when you chose either AP,AD or Muramana build, I may have missed it in the guide but I don't know which one to chose and when
2
qasddsa (24) | September 7, 2020 2:31pm
Generally speaking, AD has more solo carry power, AP has more utility and burst, and Muramana is if you're in a farm lane (like against tanks).

It's mostly preference, but I prefer AD.

Im curious since I didnt see it on the beginning of the guide but what is the highest you have reached with Kayle?
1
qasddsa (24) | September 7, 2020 6:34am
I reached D4 on NA using Kayle primary/Kalista secondary top mainly

You think it maybe a good idea to start off Kayle with some bonus defense like Cloth Armor + pots against heavy ad poke matchups like Darius, Pantheon or Zed? Or is the classic Corrupting Potion good enough?
1
qasddsa (24) | April 25, 2019 11:43am
Against Darius, you can just run Corrupting Potion.
Against Pantheon, I run Resolve secondary with Bone Plating and Revitalize.
Against Zed, I run standard with double armor shards.
Against AD champs that can do a lot of damage to me, I run double armor shards + attack speed.

I think that Kayle's early game relies on mana too much for her to give up some sort of mana item ( Doran's Ring, Corrupting Potion, Dark Seal, Sapphire Crystal, etc) to start with Cloth Armor.

AbaddonSoulchain (16) | April 25, 2019 11:59am
I mentioned those 3 as en example because all are capable of exercising pressure early game, but I understand what you're saying and agree. There is one more thing I'm conflicted about however: Riot wants her to play her laning phase safely which usually means not to hit minions and just last-hit them. In a solo lane like top lane, this usually leads to the enemy killing the first wave faster and getting lvl 2 earlier. My experience in top lane is very little as of last year, but sometimes getting lvl 2 first feels like it can be important since it allows you to out-trade your opponent early on and can make a difference. Do you think it may be better for Kayle to follow this safe path even if it means your opponent can get a small xp lead on you?
