✿ FAQ ✿

🌼 Fast jungle clear 🌼 Late game scale 🌼 Strong shields 🌼 Early counter-jungle play 🌼 Big AP power spikes 🌼 Multiple jungle pathing Ivern is a very unique champion in the way that he doesn't attack the jungle monsters due to his passive, Friend of the Forest. With this passive, it allows Ivern to have a very fast initial clear and allows him to get into those ganks faster then some other junglers can. |
🔥 Low damage 🔥 Really squishy 🔥 Weak early game 🔥 Steep learning curve Since Ivern is played more as a support in the jungle, he doesn't have much health and is vulnerable to almost any invades within his jungle. Since Ivern also scales really into the late game, his early game is really weak and requires the player to play carefully unless they are going to get caught out on their mistakes. That's why most of the people who play Ivern are in higher ranked tiers, as Ivern also has a very steep learning curve since his abilities are much different than most of the junglers within the game. |

Rootcaller (Q):Ivern conjures a vine, dealing damage and rooting enemy targets hit. Ivern's allies can dash to the rooted target. Ivern conjures a vine dealing 80/125/170/215/260 (+0) magic damage and rooting the first enemy hit for 1.2/1.4/1.6/1.8/2 second(s). Allies can click on rooted enemies to dash into attack range. |
Brushmaker (W): In brush, Ivern's attacks deal bonus magic damage. Ivern can activate this ability to create a patch of brush. Passive: In brush, Ivern's attacks deal 30/37.5/45/52.5/60 (+0) bonus magic damage. Active: Ivern grows a patch of brush for 30 seconds. For 3 seconds the area in and around the brush is revealed. |
Tiggerseed (E): Ivern places a shield on an ally which explodes after a short duration slowing and damaging enemies. Ivern shields an ally, absorbing up to 80/115/150/185/220 (+0) damage. After 2 seconds, the shield bursts dealing 60/80/100/120/140 (+0) magic damage and slowing enemies by 40/45/50/55/60% for 2 seconds. Can also be cast on Daisy. |
Daisy! (R): Ivern summons his Sentinel friend Daisy to fight with him. Daisy will send out a shockwave if she attacks the same champion three times in a row. Ivern summons his sentinel friend Daisy for 0 seconds. If Daisy attacks the same champion three times in a row, she will create a shockwave knocking enemies up for 1 second (3s cooldown). |
Starting Items
Hunter's Talisman Hunter's Talisman is the jungler starting item that you are going to take. Due to Ivern's passive draining a lot of his mana, Hunter's Talisman is best as it restores your mana at a faster rate within the jungle. I recommend selling this item at 8-10 minutes into the game as is isn't necessary to fully build the jungle item on Ivern, since he is seen as more of a support. |
Refillable Potion You are going to want to take Refillable Potion's as one of your starting items if it is safe within your jungle. Meaning that the enemy jungler will most likely not invade you early into the game leaving you safer than you would be against another jungler. These matchups can be seen in the matchups chapter in the guide. |
Boots Options
Boots of Mobility With you first back, you are going to be able to afford Mobility Boots which will allow you to get around the map much easier. Since of the unique passive with Mobility Boots, if not in combat you gain more movement speed, this allows Ivern to set and free his friends within the forest much faster. |
Ionian Boots of Lucidity I don't recommend taking Ionian Boots of Lucidity as your first boots. I usually swap these out later in the game for my Mobility Boots as it gives Ivern even more CDR making him more beneficial within the team fights with his Triggerseed cooldowns. |
Core Items
Ardent Censer Ardent Censer is a great item for Ivern as it allows him to provide attack speed to himself and another player just by shielding them. This will allow for you to deal extra damage and to help your other teammates deal some extra damage as well. |
Redemption Redemption is the best item to rush on Ivern as he can easily turn fights over in the right direction with a simple use of Redemption. I find it best to save Redemption for fights revolving around Dragons and Baron Nashor/Rift Herald. Summon Aery also helps make Redemption better as Aery will also shield the teammate that is in the Redemption keeping them safer for even longer. |
Athene's Unholy Grail With the unique passive of Athene's Unholy Grail, it allows the user to gain charges when dealing damage to enemy champions. These charges can be used to heal allies through healing them or shielding them. This works really well with Ivern's Triggerseed as shielding a teammate gives them a big shield, healing them at the same time, and dealing damage and slowing enemy champions that are nearby when the shield pops. This item is great on Ivern as when you're peeling for a squishy target on your team, you can easily keep them alive much longer with the extra healing. |
Situational Items
Knight's Vow This item is great if the enemy team has a lot of physical damage, as Knight's Vow provides armor to Ivern and also allows Ivern to pick a teammate and buff them as well if they are next to one another. I find myself taking this if my ADC is having a hard time staying alive. If it is a marksman, it helps them kite since it gives them a movement speed bonus. |
Locket of the Iron Solari I usually take this item if the enemy team has a lot of burst damage, as it can shield all of my allies around me when activated. This shield scales with all of the other items that Ivern builds since the damage absorbed scales with Ivern's health. |
Shurelya's Reverie Since the recent change to Shurelya's Battlesong, it has become a great item for Ivern as it buffs his heals and shields. This item also gives Ivern some great stats such as some extra health, mana/health regen, and extra CDR. This item is great for escape for your team or even to engage with your team as when activated, it grants you and your teammates around you a movement speed boost. |
Banshee's Veil This item is great against enemy teams with heavy AP burst damage due to the passive that gives you a magic resist shield. If the enemy has a, Diana, Lux, Vel'Koz then I usually build this item to prevent their one shots. This item also gives Ivern extra AP and MR allowing it to be a great item for him as it gives his some more damage and can resist all the heavy AP on the other team. |
Mejai's Soulstealer Mejai's Soulstealer is a great item for the late game as it provides Ivern with a lot of AP when stacked all the way. If my Dark Seal is fully stacked around 25-30 minutes into the game, I usually build it into Mejai's Soulstealer. But if I have a Dark Seal with no stacks, I just sell it and buy an item that can actually help my team. |
Mikael's Crucible This item is great for Ivern if the enemy team has a lot of CC. If your ADC gets caught in some CC during the fight, you can easily activate this item and help them get out of the CC and keep going on with the fight. The item also provides you with some magic resist, mana regen, and CDR which is great for Ivern against teams with heavy AP. |
Zhonya's Hourglass Zhonya's Hourglass is an item that can make diving under turret possible and using the item can save your life if you get caught out. This item also provides Ivern with heavy AP, some armor, and extra CDR which is great for Ivern. I usually take this item if the enemy team has a lot of burst damage or assassins as it can save your life if you are dived on by an assassin. |
This path was taken from the Ivern Mains Discord and is proven to be the best path on Ivern by pro-players and other Ivern mains. This route is the best since each camp is ready to be claimed as soon as you get back to it, so your claimed camps won't be sitting there waiting. Here is explanation that I have taken from the Ivern Mains Discord, it explains step-by-step the path that you should always take:
"1: You always start by Marking your Wolves with this clear. 2: Mark your Blue Buff. You can pop your pot(s) now. 3: Run and leave a Mark on Frog prince Kevin. 4: Go Mark your Raptor friends. 5: Claim the Wolves. 6: Promenade over to Claim your Blue Buff. 7: Hop to Gromp and Claim him. 8: Walk back and Claim your Raptors. 9: Mark+Smite that Red buff. 10: Put your toes in the river and Mark+Smite the closest Scuttle. When you reach step 10, you arrive ~8 seconds before the Scuttle spawns, giving you time to scout out the surroundings for predators beforehand, or hide in a bush." |
At this point, you can look for a gank before claiming your rift scuttler . By not setting and claiming your krugs in the first clear, it allows Ivern to impact the game really early on. This is due to the recent change in jungle experience, which now allows you to do a full blue side clear, claim your raptors and red brambleback , then claim your rift scuttler allowing you to be lvl 4 without haveing to do a full clear.[/center]

Jungle Matchups
In this section of the guide, I will be explaining every matchup that Ivern can have and what to expect when you play against that champion. As being such a squishy champion, you can expect to not be able to do well against assassins as they can easily deal a bunch of burst damage to you and almost one shot you. So Ivern has some really bad matchups since most junglers can easily dish out a lot of damage and can kill Ivern any time they please. I will also be explaining how to deal with the champion and see what to expect when you play against them.

Thank you so much for reading my guide on Ivern. I had so much figuring out the coding and making my guide look nice. I hope you were able to take something away from my guide. I would like to thank those who helped make this guide possible:
