In my opinion you might as well max the ability like I've listed since having 2 abilities technically being maxed at the same time is a bit awkward. I used to do putting few points into Q into W max but nowadays I prefer this style, and statistic-vise so seem a lot of other people as well.

It's a good idea to max Q first even if you're going to choose Shadow Assassin form? Because I'd seen in other guides three or four patches before that if they're going with this form they max first W.

Overall in Shadow Assassin form your stronger ability is W compared to Q, but you might not know which form you are going for early in the game so Q max is always the "safe bet" since it gives you the clearing power and it isn't that bad in duels/trades.

Statistics-wise people are maxing Q first and then W most often. Maxing W first will feel awkward as you will lack the combat mobility more due to the higher cooldown on Q and if you miss your W in a fight it's going to cost you a lot due to the abilitys naturally higher cooldown compared to Q.

Why wait for lvl 17 and 18 to max q?

That was my old style of maxing abilities that I forgot to update a while ago, fixed it now though.

Previously I liked to max W first, I only took a few points on Q to get better clear in the jungle but nowadays the correct path is Q>W>E

Im very new to this champion but i was wondering if you go with Rhaast and the recommended item build in this guide (the very 'tanky' one'), will you still have the ability to do lots of damage and 'delete' champions? Because i also saw that the SA had some type of buff? As i said im very new to this champion, but when i have played him i have always picked SA, but everyone seems to recommend Rhaast more.

Played some games with Rhaast and the build in this guide now and i just go in and die instantly, i feel like i do 0 damage and my stats was pretty much 1 kill 2 deaths.

1 kill 2 deaths might not mean much, depends how long it took for you to transform and how strong you were compared to your opponents. In general with the items I've listed you are tanky and are still able to do good amount of damage, although you aren't going to be that one-shot machine like Shadow Assassin Kayn is. You can opt for more damage, like replacing Spirit Visage or Guardian Angel with some damage items like Death's Dance, Lord Dominik's Regards or Mortal Reminder. Thing is, Rhaast's main job isn't to kill the squishies, he is aimed more towards killing the tankier opponents like Sejuani as an example, or just buying time for his team through his healing.

Shadow Assassin got buffed a while ago, making his mobility pretty insane, but in general Rhaast is still the more safer bet since he is useful against most comps anyways if you just aren't too behind. Shadow Assassin in return can't always deal with beefier opponents.

How do i deal with my team when there is no other Frontliner beside me as Rhaast ?
Actually happens to me quite a lot to be the only one Frontline in my team and end up dying insanely fast ( you cannot imagine :D ) even with the right tanky build with quite a lot Armor and MR..

Sometimes it happens that there is another frontliner in my team but he waits me to jump first...Well i dont like jumping first, getting CC'ed from 5 champions while desperately spamming R to someone to heal but wait i am stunned and end up dying like a dog :D

I've found that Rhaast works only as secondary Frontliner / Peeler but how do i deal when Primary Frontliner ?

Your most important job as a frontliner in this case is to CC the enemy team as much as possible (either CC the important carry from enemy team or yet better find an angle where you hit multiple targets with your W).

Look for AoE hits with your abilities since you'll be healing a lot, and just try to maximize your uptime with smart W usage and R usage so that you buy time for your team while the enemy team desperately tries to get rid of you.

Of course that wont be always possible (as you stated sometimes you die insanely fast), in which case you need to find other ways to initiate a fight or just try to go for picks. Rhaast can feel clunky so you have to find good positioning with your E and just use your W to it's maximum capability.

Rhaast definitely benefits from having another frontliner on the team, but I don't think he is too bad of a primary frontliner either.

Nowadays i fee like SA outmatch Rhaast...
Why Rhaast seems like isnt that strong like 2-3 months ago

The buff to Shadow Assassin's mobility definitely made him feel a lot stronger than he used to. It's still really comp dependent whether Shadow Assassin can succeed or not.

I feel Rhaast is still the more ''generalized'' pick but if you know what you are doing and the enemy comp doesn't have much peeling tools/tanky champs then Shadow Assassin can be a great pick due to his burst and mobility. On the other hand if the enemy team has a lot of tanky champions who take long time to take down then Rhaast would be my weapon of choice.

Hi there,

I've been looking for a great late game build for Rhaast..
Some opinion on best Rhaast build which works in every situation ?

Jg item - boots - BC - Spririt Visage - Deadman's plate/Randui Omen - Death's Dance
What is your opinion on this build and i keep switching DD when needed with other situational item

Hello!

Imo there isn't a set in stone build that works in EVERY situation. Sure it can function to some degree, but generally you should always be adapting your build depending on situations.

Overall though, your suggestion of a well-rounded late game build is pretty close, but I'd think it looks something like this: Skirmisher's Sabre - Warrior -> Ninja Tabi/ Mercury's Treads -> Black Cleaver -> Spirit Visage -> Guardian Angel -> Death's Dance.

Death's Dance combined with Spirit Visage and Rhaast's own healing will make you a tough foe to deal with, so I wouldn't necessarily exclude it out of your build unless you 100% can't sacrifice any other item.

Also forgot to add. I feel extremely powerless as Kayn when my team feeds the enemy laner. Any tips on what I could do?

Hey man, I really like your guide and have a couple of questions on Kayn as a champion in general. 1. Do you think it is worth dying over orbs in the early game? I find that sometimes even though i die early (like once or twice) I get my form around the 8 minute mark or even before. I usually end up doing quite well afterwards. Thoughts on my strat? 2. I really like kayn. Do you think Kayn is a solid champ to one trick with? If not what situations are bad for kayn?

Hello! Glad you liked the guide! I'm happy to answer your questions.

1. If dying for your form is working for you, then do it as long as it works for you :D I wouldn't personally go out my way to purposefully take bad fights for getting form, unless I am really desperate for the transformation. Sure it's a big powerspike, but you being dead always gives up something (pressure, objectives, gives enemies gold lead and so on.

2. Kayn is fine for one-tricking. I would say every champion is fine for one-tricking, if you enjoy the champion that much, then go for it. Mine personally is Jax, although I'm trying to be more diverse nowadays.

There are bad situations to pick Kayn into though. Your base form is quite weak compared to some early game junglers and 1v1 champs like Xin Zhao, Udyrand Graves. However if you are confident on your champion you can still do fine even in bad matchups, but it's always a risk if the opponent knows how to abuse your pre-transformation form.

And to your last question, sometimes that just happens and there is nothing you can do. Best thing to prevent that is to gank whenever it's a good time/possible since you'll get your form faster and take off some pressure from your own laners by helping them. Rhaast probably does better in that kind of situations as he can buy a lot of time for your team while he gets focused due to his sustain, but as I said there isn't always a way out of situations like that.
