Champion Build Guide
Welcome to my Soraka support guide! I hope this guide helps you as you go along your journey of learning The Starchild In this guide, I will be going over runes for Zoe, pros & cons, abilities, items, spells, as well as gameplay tips and a warding guide. Soraka is one of the best support champions. Her ultimate, as well as her heals, are invaluable, especially in teamfights, she has good utility with her Equinox and Starcall. Even though she's an easy champion to play, she's very rewarding and just bunches of fun! Hello, I'm DatKawaiiBunny! I'm a Silver IV ADC/Support main. I've been playing League of Legends since April of season 7 as an ADC main My highest mastery champions are Lux, Sona, and Xayah, but I plan to make Soraka my 3rd highest. I started playing Soraka a year after I joined. I played her on and off, like most champions I play. She's one of my absolute favorite champions, so I've been playing her more, especially in Clash. I update my guide each time I play her with items, runes, etc. I really appreciate you guys taking the time to read my Senna guide. Thanks a lot, and happy supporting!♥ |
♥ Good Poke♥ Great Healing with Astral Infusion and Wish♥ Low Cooldowns Mid Game♥ Good CC with EquinoxSoraka has a lot of poke with her Starcall. Her Equinox silences and roots enemies within the target area. Even though Astral Infusion makes her squishier, it has a lot of healing power, along with Wish. Her cooldowns are pretty low after you buy Redemption, and it gives her health regeneration. |
♥ Squishy♥ High Cooldowns Early on Equinox♥ Barely Any Mobility Except SalvationLike most supports, Soraka is squishy. However, she's more squishy than most supports because of her Astral Infusion. She gives some of her health to an ally and heals them. The high cooldown on her Equinox, which is the silence/root makes things a little difficult, especially if they have a Pyke or Thresh. |
Guardian Guardian shields and hastes yourself and a nearby ally if you or your ally takes damage for 70 - 150(+ 25% AP) (+ 12% bonus health). I've been taking this on Soraka recently. I think it's better than Summon Aery. It gives Soraka more sustain. |
Summon Aery Summon Aery is another good option you can take on Soraka. It increases your poke and it also shields your allies for 35 - 80 based on level (+ 25% AP). However it doesn't give you the sustain like Guardian does. |
Font of Life When you impair an enemy's movement speed, a mark is put on them for 4 seconds. Any ally that attacks an enemy with a mark heal for 5 (+ 1% of your max health) over 2 seconds. I take this on Soraka for the extra healing for enemies and they're slowed with Starcall. You can also take Second Wind for the health regeneration after you take damage. For 10 seconds, 6 (+4% of the missing health of your health is restored. If you're attacked during those 10 seconds, it refreshes the rune. |
Bone Plating Bone Plating is great for squishy supports. After taking damage from an enemy, their next 3 attacks deal less damage. I take this on Soraka for more sustain, and it's good against poke supports like Zyra and Lux. |
Revitalize Revitalize makes Soraka heals 5% stronger and if your ally is below 40% HP, your heals increase by an additional 10%. it also increases the heal on Wish and Astral Infusion. |
Manaflow Band Manaflow Band gives you 25 mana every time you hit an enemy champion with an ability. It also gives you up to 250 mana. This allows you to poke more and use your heal without draining your mana completely. |
Celerity Celerity is one of the best runes for Soraka. All movement speed bonuses are 7% more effective and you gain 1 movement speed. This goes great with her passive Salvation, Mobility Boots, and Shurelya's Battlesong. You can also take Transcendence if you want the extra CDR, but you're most likely not going to need it because of your core items. |
♥ Passive: Salvation
Soraka gain 70% movement speed when she's walking towards ally champions that are below 40% of their maximum health.
♥ Starcall
Cost: 45 / 50 / 55 / 60 / 65
Soraka throws a star at a target location. Enemies within the area take 85 / 120 / 155 / 190 / 225 (+35% of ability power) and are slowed by 30% for 2 seconds. It also restores her health from rejuvenation for 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 (+30% of ability power) and her movement speed decays 10 / 12.5 / 15 / 17.5 / 20% over its duration.
♥ Astral Infusion
Cost: 40 / 45 / 50 / 55 / 60
Soraka heals an ally champion restoring 80 / 115 / 150 / 185 / 220 (+60% of ability power) of their health. It can't be self-cast, and it can't be cast if Soraka is below 5% of her maximum health. It also takes some health away from her. The health cost will also be reduced by 80 / 85 / 90 / 95 / 100% if it's cast while rejuvenated.
♥ Equinox
Cost: 40 / 45 / 50 / 55 / 60
Soraka creates a zone in a target location. Enemies within the location are silenced and take 70 / 95 / 120 / 145 / 170 (+40% of ability power. The enemies can be unsilent if they leave the area. All enemy champions inside are rooted for 1 / 1.25 / 1.5 / 1.75 / 2 seconds and take an additional 70 / 95 / 120 / 145 / 170 (+40% of ability power).
♥ Wish
Cost: 100
Soraka restores 150 / 250 / 350 (+55% of ability power) health to all allied champions. It's a global ult and it can affect untargetable allies. Allies below 40% of their maxinum health get a 50% increased heal.

Ignite deals damage 70 - 410 true damage on a targeted enemy champion for 5 seconds and applies grievous wounds, which reduces all healing received and regeneration rates by 40%. Ignite helps in teamfights, and with champions that heal like Dr. Mundo and Vladimir. I take this against counters and to reduce the healing of some champions. Exhaust slows down a targeted enemy champion for 30% of their movement speed, and reduces their damage by 40% for 3 seconds. Exhaust can be used with Equinox since it silences enemies within the area. I take Barrier for more sustain. It goes really well with the Resolve runes. Barrier shields your character for 95 + (20 per level) for 2 seconds. Flash teleports your champion wherever your cursor is. Plus, it's a key summoner spell for every champion, except Yuumi. In my opinion, there's not much to do with Flash on Soraka. It does provide her with a good escape because she's squishy. |
Soraka's early game is about poking, and healing while you and your ADC get minions. Your main source of poke is Starcall, it not only damages enemies, it heals you as well. You can also use Equinox, but it has a high cooldown, so you should use it wisely. As a Soraka, you have to play a little safe and behind the minions, since she's squishy.
Early Game♥ Level 1:You just want to get level two. Preferably before the enemies level up.♥ Level 2:If you hit level 2 before the enemy, you should communicate with your ADC and try to get an early kill, or Flash. You should also watch out for a gank by their jungler. On occasion, you might get level 2 ganked, especially by a Twitch.♥ Level 3 - 5:Level 6 is when you gain your ultimate. Before then, you are going to poke, ward, and heal your ADC. Ward dragon, possibly with a Control Ward, and help your ADC get minions and gold. If you go Relic Shield, then grab cannon for your ADC, along with other minions.♥ Level 6:Soraka has a strong, global ultimate. Wish can be used in many situations. If there is a teamfight top or mid, you can use your ultimate to heal them. It'll heal more if they're below 40%. You can also use your ultimate if you and ADC are trying to get a kill. |
Mid/Late Game♥ Roaming:Personally, I like to roam after I get to level 6, but you can roam sooner. This is where you really have to communicate with your teammates. Roaming is also a great opportunity to deep ward, ward the river, or ward objectives, like a dragon. Some good times to roam are when:

♥ Teamfight Tips:
Teamfights are very important, and they can turn the game around. Soraka brings a lot to the table, especially with her heal, silence/root, and Guardian. In teamfights, you should protect your frontline, and peel for your ADC. Try to silence multiple enemies so it's easier for your team to engage. You can also slow them with Starcall, which will also heal you if the enemy gets hit.
Early GameIn the early game, you should prioritize warding as much as possible. You probably won't have your upgraded support item by then, but that's okay. If you're ahead, you should try to ward either the enemy's blue buff or red buff to get some vision on the jungler, just in case they gank. If you can't do that, ward the tribush with a Stealth Ward or a Control Ward. If you're behind, then ward the river, one of the bushes in the bot lane, and dragon. If you're behind because of the enemy jungler, then make sure to ward the tribush, if they're coming from that direction. If not, focus on the river. |
Mid/Late GameBy this time, you should be out of the bot lane. Your upgraded support item gives you an opportunity to deep ward. You want to focus on warding the enemy's jungle. Specifically, near objectives and blast cones. You should always keep dragon warded, preferably with a Control Ward. Buy an Oracle's Lens as soon as your item is upgraded and try to deny them vision by looking for wards they've placed in your jungle, as well as theirs. |
- Blue Dots are of course the Blue Team.
- Red Dots are of course the Red Team.
- Pink Dots are Control Wards.
- Small Green Dots are Blast Cones
