Hello my name is xracer022 but just call me racer if you want to :) Thanks for checking my guide out! I am playing Kassadin since season 10 and i really enjoy playing him with a high winrate in Grandmaster / Challenger on EUW. I think i can teach you really good how to play and climb with him easily.

I am sure that you will learn much with my guide and get more knowledge about him. You will have much fun aswell like me cause of the unique playstyle of the champion and the high kill potential.

Kassadin has one of the best lvl11 or lvl16 powerspikes and a really high burst potential. With his stacked ultimate + other abilities he can easily one shot enemies at level 6 or higher. You have a really high chance to get kills after level 5 cause of his ultimate. His E can be used really good to low down the enemy and set up a gank for your jungler. With these four spells you can get fast kills. Cause of his ultimate you can avoid ganks in the early game and save your life. You can also use your ultimate to roam really quick and make a good gank for your other roles.

- CC is a big problem for you
Anyways Kassadin is really easy to gank and to kill in the early game cause of his kit. You dont have much mobility as kassadin in the early game and you cant easily escape against dashes etc. Heavy ad champions like zed, pantheon, lucian, tristana and many more counters you easily. Your burst is high but your hp bar is really low. Heavy ad champions can kill you in under a second and adc with many dashes can do that aswell. This makes kassadin easy to play but hard to master.

INNATE: Kassadin is permanently ghosted and takes 10% reduced magic damage.

ACTIVE: Kassadin fires an orb of void energy at the target enemy that upon arrival deals them magic damage and disrupts their ongoing channels.

The excess energy forms around Kassadin, granting him a shield that absorbs magic damage for 1.5 seconds.

65 / 95 / 125 / 155 / 185 (+ 70% AP)

40 / 70 / 100 / 130 / 160 (+ 30% AP)

PASSIVE: Kassadin's basic attacks deal 20 (+ 10% AP) bonus magic damage on-hit.

ACTIVE: Kassadin empowers his blade, causing his next basic attack within the next 5 seconds to have an uncancelable windup, gain 50 bonus range, deal increased bonus magic damage, and restore mana, with the restoration amount quintupled against champions.

Nether Blade resets Kassadin's basic attack timer.

50 / 75 / 100 / 125 / 150 (+ 80% AP)

4 / 4.5 / 5 / 5.5 / 6% of missing mana

PASSIVE: Kassadin gains a Void Energy stack each time he or a nearby champion uses an ability, stacking up to 6 times. At 6 stacks, Kassadin gains the ability to cast Force Pulse.

ACTIVE: Kassadin consumes all Void Energy stacks to emit a pulse of void energy in a cone in the target direction, dealing magic damage to enemies within the area and slowing them for 1 second.

80 / 105 / 130 / 155 / 180 (+ 80% AP)

50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 90%

| Range: 500 | Cooldown: 5 / 3.5 / 2 | Cost: 40 / 80 / 160 / 320 / 640 (BASED ON STACKS) MANA |

ACTIVE: Kassadin blinks from his current location towards the target location and upon arrival deals magic damage to all nearby enemies.

Each subsequent Riftwalk cast within 15 seconds doubles its mana cost and deals bonus damage, stacking up to 4 times.

80 / 100 / 120 (+ 40% AP) (+ 2% maximum mana)

40 / 50 / 60 (+ 10% AP) (+ 1% maximum mana)
Electrocute is by far the best rune for Kassadin in the Domination tree. At level 1, in combination with your Q or E you can easily trigger electrocute to deal alot of damage to your enemy.

Sudden Impact will help you with extra burst damage with your ultimate and some magic pen, it's better than the other runes at the moment.

As kassadin you aim to take over the game and dominate the enemy which makes eyeball collection the perfect choice in order to get some extra damage. This should help with extending your lead once you get ahead.

Lastly ingenious hunter is the ultimate rune in your kit that will allow you to maintain enough sustain combined with crown of the shattered queen.

Absolute Focus will give you much extra damage which is really helpful and useful on kassadin cause of the high damage potential on your ultimate.

Gathering Storm is a really good choice on kassadin cause of the extra damage output and the fact that you want to scale on kassadin too.

The double adaptive damage is really nice for early kills, be aware of the fact that ignite and electrocute alone can take your enemy to half hp. Abuse the enemy as soon as you can and start farming gold and mejai's soulstealer stacks.
Summoner Spells

FLASH: This is your core summoner spell and you should never change that cause of your kit. Kassadin has no mobility in the early game thats why you are always taking flash. You can avoid ganks or prepare kills much easier with flash.
TELEPORT: Teleport is really good for your laning-phase cause of the free reset and it makes your early game much easier. You can also use it to roam fast and it makes your splitpushing much stronger.

Dark Seal

Refillable Potion
Your starting items are always dark seal and refillable potion. There are no better options or other items to buy. Dark seal is the best way to carry the game cause of the passive, health and ap you get from it. The refillable potion is really useful aswell. Don't start with something other, there is no better item to buy.


Crown of the Shattered Queen

Sorcerer's Shoes

Seraph's Embrace
Your core items are always crown of the shattered queen, sorcerer's shoes and seraph's embrace. These three items are a must have cause of the items stats and passives. You always buy tear and go magic penetration boots cause of your insane burst damage. Crown of the shattered queen is really good as kassadin cause of your squishy kit and champion. You will survive much more with this item.


Void Staff
The Void Staff gives an unreal amount of magic penetration. When you realise the enemy is completely stacking Magic Resistance, this item might help more than even a Rababon's Deathcap would.
When you realise the enemy is healing way too much and way too fast for you to be able to burst them, the grevious wounds a Morellonomicon grants can negate more healing than the damage you will ever be able to do.
Rabadon's Deathcap
When you don't need a specific form of damage to get through your enemy, and you don't need more defensive items, then the Rabadon's Deathcap is perfect. It's also a perfect snowballing item as nobody is gonna stop you once you have one before they have magic resistance.
Banshee's Veil
A Banshee's Veil can be a lifesaver when a single spell can be the difference between life and death. Being able to walk through the jungle without fearing a charm coming from a bush is a very liberating feeling. This item should only be built when its absolutely necessary.


If you are playing against heavy ad champions or your enemy can easily oneshot you, you have to rush zhonya's hourglass or only armguards. Most of the times you have to play smart and carefully. Most of the times champions like zed, talon, lucian, qiyana will be a hard time cause of their kit, you just have to play safe and dont be overaggressive. Just survive and play with your kit for scaling.


Against mages its much easier because kassadin outtrades the most mages in the midlane, your burst will help you there. You can play much more aggressive against ap match-ups and you can easily push them under tower. Kassadin scales really good and can outscale the most ap champions in the midlane. Most of the champions are squishy which is really good for kassadin cause of his high ap burst damage.
Ability Sequence


Obviously you want to pick Riftwalk once you hit Level 6, 11 and 16 as this is your most useful and powerful spell.




















You want to start with Q cause of the damage and the range, you can easy autoattack him after you hit your Q and proc electrocute. After level 2 you can deal such a high damage with your Q + W combo and burst your enemy already to low hp. If you have your ultimate you can just run your enemy down and oneshot him with your stacked ultimate. It's really easy to kill an enemy by this tactic. You can slow the enemy really hard with your e and setup a gank for your jungler.
Game Progression


Early-Game 00:00 - 11:00
During this period of the game you have a really good chance to solo kill your lane opponent with your high burst damage abilities. It's really easy and fast to get kills on kassadin in this state of the game. But you have to care about ganks or roams. If you get some kills you can snowball in the mid-game really quickly.

Mid-Game 11:00 - 20:00
It's mid-game now and hopefully you have got some kills over the early game. You can have some items now and stack ap really easy and quick. You can permanently push your wave and bind your enemy on the turret. If you do that you can easy roam bot or top or get some vision for your team. You have much more pressure than your enemy because he has to farm under tower meanwhile you already roam.

Late-Game 20:00 - 45:00
In the late-game, you have such a high ap score and can easy oneshot the enemies, and blink over the enemies with your ultimate. You just have to care about assassins and heavy ad champions like zed, talon or control champions which can hard CC you or burst you down.

Kassadin is a really good champion for beginners and easy to play in every rank. You can easily carry games alone and climb really fast and consistant. But the champion is hard to master so care, kassadin has also many disadvantages.
