Elise Elise is a tricky one, she has hard CC and decent damage. When at low health, Play very defensively as her Spider form's Bite deals more damage the lower your health is. if she uses Rappel to engage, then she has no escape. There are not too many decent Elise players out there though.

Gragas Can be difficult to deal with, even when he is at low health. Be careful if he is running away from you as he can always turn with a bodyslam and burst you down very quickly if you are chasing him. Good sustain and plenty of damage, avoid fighting with him early.

Nunu This is just a pain in the ass. After a few levels you should have no problems 1v1 with him, but don't underestimate him either as he can still pack a punch and stick to you with his (E)

Shaco Luckily there are few decent Shaco players out there. In the right hands though, he will cause you plenty of trouble until you get some items. He has as much cheese going for him as Twitch does, and that's saying something as Twitch is a Rat.

Volibear He is tanky and can chase you down. Not the worst to Jungle against but try to not let him set you behind, else it will be difficult to catch up again.

Zac CC and Tanky, you should have no real issue with him in the early game apart from counterganks. He can be a right pain to deal with though as the game progresses. Remember he has a lot of range when he leaps into a lane, this can catch you out very easily if you are in the middle of ganking a lane.

About Me
Hey guys, my in-game name is FalleN3. I'm from Ireland and have been playing League of Legends for some years now. I enjoy to play champions such as Twitch, Fizz, Akali, Annie & Orianna among others too.

I stream Monday to Thursdays at 6pm GMT+1 until 9pm GMT+1. It's highly unlikely that you will learn anything by watching me on Twitch but I do offer a chilled and relaxed stream.


Twitch is an ADC but can be played as an off-meta Jungler, which can be a LOT of fun. He is one of my favourite champions and taking him to the Jungle can be quiet the adventure.

He is a hypercarry an can single-handedly carry a game and teamfights if the person playing him is skilfull enough. He has a stealth ability Ambush which can be used for sneaking up on unsuscpecting enemies and for seeking out the optimal positioning in team-fights.

He scales really well into late game and his damage becomes insane once he gets a few items.

He excels after level 6 when he acquires Spray and Pray which will enable him to decimate enemies. Combine this with Runaan's Hurricane and his damage across multiple targets can be incredible.

In the jungle, I would consider Twitch to be very high skill-cap and he relies heavily on excellent positioning throughout the entire game, team-fights and skirmishes.

His greatest weaknesses are that he is very squishy and struggles a lot in the Jungle early game. If you fall behind or get invaded and die you will find it extremely hard to get back into the game. He also has low mobility and no 'real' escape. You cannot rely on power-farming as Twitch to stay relevant in the game.

Runes Reforged




Press The Attack:
Hitting an enemy champion with 3 consecutive basic attacks deals 30-120 bonus adaptive damage (based on level) and makes them vulnerable, increasing the damage they take by 12% from all sources for 6 seconds. Having this extra 12% damage from all sources will help a jungling Twitch to secure those early kills when ganking at low levels. The other option here is Lethal Tempo, it fits well with Twitch kit and will give a burst of AS which will allow him to lay down damage quicker. However, I recommend taking Press the Attack

Triumph:
Takedowns restore 12% of your missing health and grant an additional 25 gold. Twitch is an assassin, so we certainly want to takedown enemies, he is also very squishy which means that the 12% restored health per takedown will really help you with survivability. It is a very strong choice on a champion like Twitch.

LEGEND: ALACRITY:
Takedowns on enemies grant permanent Attack Speed. Again, more delicious Attack Speed. It works really well with your Kit as Twitch. Legend: Bloodline is an option here either.

Cut Down:
Deal more damage to champions with more maximum health than you. Considering Twitch is incredibly squishy throughout a full game, this can be a very useful rune to take. The other option here is to take Coup de Grace which will enable you to deal 10% extra damage to champions with less than 40% health.

Sudden Impact:
After exiting stealth or using a dash, blink or teleport, dealing any damage to a champion grants you 10 Lethality and 8 Magic Penetration for 5 seconds. This is quiet a useful rune for Twitch as generally he will be coming out of stealth when attacking an enemy. It will offer you a nice bit of extra damage.

Taste of Blood:
Heal when you damage an enemy champion.
Healing: 18-35 (+ 20% bonus AD) (+ 10% AP) health (based on level)
This is useful for Twitch because the 'Core Items' in my guide will not offer you any lifesteal. It can help you to survive just a little bit longer to get the job done.

Eyeball Collection:
Collect eyeballs for champion and ward takedowns. Gain an adaptive bonus of 0.6 Attack Damage or 1 Ability Power per eyeball collected. Upon completing your collection at 20 eyeballs, additionally gain an adaptive bonus of 6 attack damage, or 10 ability power. Collect 2 eyeballs per champion takedown, 1 eyeball per ward takedown.

Summoner Spells



Flash is a core summoner spell on almost every champion in League of Legends and Twitch is no exception to this. It will enable you to dodge skillshots, blink over walls and escape from certain death. To be honest, it's a no-brainer without any exceptions.

Smite is mandatory in the Jungle. It will unlock the Jungle only items that are required and it's essential for securing buffs, monsters and neutral objectives, baron / dragon etc.. You must take it as a summoner spell and there is not much else to write here about it. If you build Skirmisher's Sabre you can also cast Smite on an enemy champion.

Guide Top

Items


Skirmisher's Sabre - Bloodrazor grants lifesteal versus monsters and also regenerates your mana while you are in the jungle. I pick this over any other jungle item as it synergizes with Twitch kit fantastically. The attack speed stats and the fact that it will deal 4% of a targets maximum health per basic attack makes this a must have item. Don't forget to use challenging smite!

Runaan's Hurricane is a 'must have' item on Twitch. It synergizes with his kit so well and combined with Spray and Pray unleashes the bolts from hell, so to speak. Each bolt will apply Deadly Venom which will increase your AoE if you use Contaminate after striking multiple enemies. It aids with clearing jungle camps too and wave minions should you have to (and yes, you do want to - more $'s for you :) ).

Infinity Edge offers Twitch a massive power spike. Combine this with your Runaan's Hurricane and you have now got the potential to decimate enemy champions and teams. It gives your a massive +70 Attack Damage, +20% Crit Chance and your Crits will now deal 250% Damage. This is a must have item on Twitch.


Blade of the Ruined King is a decent item and may be taken if the situation calls for it. It can offer you the ability to chase down a champion (from its active) and can also offer you the ability to self peel. It will give you Lifesteal and some Attack Speed which can help you to sustain in fights. It is a good option if the enemy team has multiple tanks as it deals a percentage of the enemies health in damage per hit. Situational item, purchase with caution.

The Bloodthirster will help you to stay alive as it offers a whopping 20% lifesteal. Remember though, positioning is key for Twitch as if you manage to get hard CC'd, you can't lifesteal if you cant auto attack. Consider taking Mercurial Scimitar instead of The Bloodthirster if the enemy has multiple forms of hard CC, this is not always the case but it is worth considering.

Mortal Reminder will give you some all important armor penetration. I generally take this over Lord Dominik's Regards because I really like the fact that it applies Grievous Wounds from Executioner's Calling. This helps to take down champions with healing ability Darius, Swain, Vladimir etc.. and considering we are seeing so much lifesteal and Redemption / Ardent Censer in games, Mortal Reminder is a solid choice.

Lord Dominik's Regards will help you to cut through high health tanks. It will do extra damage depending on how much more maximum health an enemy that you are attacking has over you. Considering you are squishy as hell, every tank is going to have much more health than you. This is a good item to purchase if the enemy team is composed of multiple tanks, but remember that Mortal Reminder will aply grievous wounds, so choose wisely.

Duskblade of Draktharr is in theory a good item on Twitch but I tend t stay clear of it. It offers you some lethality and cool down reduction which is always nice. When you come out of stealth your next basic attack will deal 45-300 (at levels 1-18) bonus physical damage. It also will disable enemy wards for 8 seconds after being spotted by one.

Statikk Shiv will give you quiet a bit of extra burst and will help you to take down champions quicker. It will help enormously with lane waveclear and also clearing your jungle camps. I tend to take this over Phantom Dancer.

Phantom Dancer is an alternative to Statikk Shiv and it grants slightly more attack speed. It will allow you to move through minions without collision if you are within 500 units of a target and it will give you some damage reduction from the last person you hit with an auto attack, this can help you to survive longer. I prefer Statikk Shiv over this though as I prefer the extra burst potential.

Mercurial Scimitar is a very good item to purchase when playing Twitch. It will offer you some lifesteal, attack damage and some magic resist. It also is composed of the Quicksilver Sash which when activated will remove all crowed control from you. Useful to have in your kit if you're up against a team with multiple hard CC or simply just an Annie or Malzahar etc... that likes to focus you hard.

Maw of Malmortius is a very situational item for Twitch. It will basically help you to survive burst from a mage such as Annie, Orianna, Lux, Syndra etc.. You can build the Hexdrinker component of it early and not finish the item until later in the game if need be. Generally though, I would try to take Mercurial Scimitar instead if possible, especially if it's CC that's killing you.

Guardian Angel is basically a free life. However, if you are anything like me - when I die there is going to be no comeback. My positioning is a let-down at times and 'generally' no amount of re-life is going to save me from the enemy team should I have died. It can be a decent item to pickup late game though, especially if you are solo carrying and your death would mean the team loses. Realistically, it should be a final item for you - if at all.

What I find works best is to put your first point into (E) Contaminate as it will give you some extra burst when clearing your first camp, Red Buff (assuming all has gone to plan).

Once you have cleared your Red Buff, put your next point into (Q) Ambush and make your way towards mid lane for a gank, if it's viable. Sometimes you might have a weak 'early' midlaner like Gangplank against a mobile enemy (EG: LeBlanc ) and this can be a waste of time trying to achieve and will just put you behind. However, it is generally worth ganking mid lane with level 2. If not, head on to your Blue Buff.



Deadly Venom

Deadly Venom: Twitch's basic attacks infect the target, dealing true damage each second.

Deadly Venom can be a frustrating passive as it never really seems to offer big burst on champions, even at full stacks. However, do not underestimate it, the fact that it deals true damage is great and this means it ignores the enemies armor. It is possible to apply stacks with Venom Cask



Ambush

Ambush: Twitch becomes Camouflaged for a short duration and gains Movement Speed. When leaving Camouflage, Twitch gains Attack Speed for a short duration.

When an enemy champion with Deadly Venom dies, Ambush's cooldown is reset.
Twitch becomes Camouflaged and gains 10% Movement Speed for 10/11/12/13/14 seconds. This bonus triples when he is nearby an enemy champion that cannot see him. Twitch gains 30/35/40/45/50% Attack Speed for 5 seconds after exiting Ambush. Ambush resets when a champion dies while affected by Deadly Venom.
Stealth - Camouflage: Twitch is hidden from view while enemy champions remain outside his detection radius. Attacking or casting spells ends Camouflage.

This is your bread and butter abilitiy and is what makes Twitch such a great assassin. It can be used as a tool to engage or escape. Used correctly you can easily get into positions to ambush an unsuspecting enemy or enemies for a teamfight. Just be mindful that you can be seen by enemies that are close to you.

Your camouflage can be revealed by the following:



Venom Cask

Venom Cask: Twitch hurls a cask of venom that explodes in an area, slowing targets and applying deadly venom to the target.
Twitch hurls a cask that adds a stack of Deadly Venom to all enemies struck and leaves behind a toxic cloud that persists for 3 seconds. Enemies that remain within the cloud have 25/30/35/40/45% reduced Movement Speed and receive an additional stack of Deadly Venom each second.
A useful ability as it not only applies a slow to your enemy but also applies stacks of Deadly Venom too. This forces an enemy to either re-position themselves outside of the range of Venom Cask or continue to be slowed and reach full Deadly Venom stacks even quicker than simply your AA's. Just hit your Contaminate when they are at full stacks and apply the True Damage.

Venom Cask can be used to aid you in clearing camps with multiple units, such as wraith , Golem and can also help you to clear waves of minions from the lanes if need be.

When you are coming out of Ambush going to attack an enemy, use your AA first and then immediately after the animation, throw Venom Cask at them as this is most efficient.



Contaminate

Contaminate: Twitch wreaks further havoc on poisoned enemies with a blast of his vile diseases.
Deals 20/35/50/65/80 physical damage plus 15/20/25/30/35 (+20% Ability Power) (+0) per stack of Deadly Venom to all nearby enemies affected by Deadly Venom.
(Max Stack Damage: 0)

Contaminate is a crucial part of your burst. It's important to not use in needlessly or panic and activate it after one or two stacks have been applied. If an enemy has 4+ stacks of Deadly Venom applied, this is the time to consider pressing the ability. In an ideal world you would wait until all x6 Stacks have been applied but that cannot always be the case. It is a great way to apply some extra damage to enemies that have left your AA range.



Spray and Pray

Spray and Pray: Twitch unleashes the full power of his crossbow, shooting bolts over a great distance that pierce all enemies caught in their path.
For 5 seconds Twitch gains 300 Attack Range and 20/30/40 Bonus Attack Damage.For the duration, his basic attacks become piercing bolts that deal 20% less damage to subsequent targets, down to a minimum of 40% damage.

Stealth - Camouflage: Activating Spray and Pray does not end Camouflage.

Spray and Pray combined with Runaan's Hurricane is a force to be reckoned with. The damage this combination creates in team-fights is INSANE. If you manage to get your positioning correct, you can easily take down an entire team with this ultimate given the right circumstances.
Try to use Spray and Pray as your are coming out of Ambush as this will combine the extra attack speed stats from Ambush with it, leading to even more damage! This is the moment you have been waiting for :)

ELEMENTAL DRAGONS


Could Drake: Grants 25 / 50 / 75 (+ 50% if they have the Aspect of the Aspect of the Dragon bonus movement speed while out-of-combat.

Infernal Drake:Grants 8%/16%/24% (based on stacks) increased attack damage and ability power versus champions.

Mountain Drake:Grants 10%/20%/30% additional damage (based on stacks) as true damage to epic monsters and turrets.

Ocean Drake:Restores 4%/8%/12% of missing health and missing mana over 5 seconds if not damaged by champions or turrets within 8 seconds.

Elder Dragon:Grants 'Aspect of the Dragon' buff for 150 seconds (or until death). This buff grants 45 × (total number of dragons killed) bonus true damage dealt over 3 seconds to all spells and basic attacks against non-turrets. Apart from this, the strength of all the elemental dragon buffs is increased by 50% for the duration




BARON NASHER


Baron Nashor is the most powerful neutral monster on Summoner's Rift. Killing Baron Nashor grants Hand of Baron to all living teammates for 210 seconds. The buff gives each champion on your team up to 40 attack damage and ability power (scales with game time). Empowered Recall (Recall channel time is reduced to 4 seconds (down from 8), and an aura that greatly increases the power of nearby minions. Respawn Time: 7:00





RIFT HERALD


Rift Herald is a melee attacker that that is resilient to ranged attacks (She takes 35% reduced damage from ranged attacks), but is vulnerable to attacks to the eye on it's back from behind, dealing 12% of it's Maximum Health as bonus true damage. Killing this monster drops the Eye of the Herald, which can be picked up by a champion and will replace their Trinket Slot. The Eye lasts for 4 Minutes after which time, if not used it will be lost. It also grants Empowered Recall and the ability to summon this monster to push a lane.

It has a unique active Herald's Call which will Channel for 3.5 seconds to crush the Eye of the Herald, summoning the Rift Herald to siege enemy turrets. The Herald will make it's way to the nearest lane and head towards the enemies tower. It will charge up outside of tower range and then slam into it causing decent damage. Each time the Herald attacks a tower it will lose some Health, it can also be attacked by enemy champions and attacks to the eye on it's back will deal 20% of it's maximum health as bonus true damage.

Guide Top

How to play


Grouping with your team is where your strength is with this build. Remember games are won by destroying enemy Towers/ Inhibitors and eventually the Nexus, they are not won by your KDA.

During teamfights, resist the temptation to rush up to the front line and unleash the power of your Spray and Pray on the enemy team. This is without doubt going to end you you eating up all the CC and engage the enemy team has to offer before you manage to get so much as x2 or x3 auto attacks off.

It's absolutely 'crucial' when you are playing Twitch that you get your positioning absolutely perfect. You need to find a position where your team can protect you from the enemies, which is usually going to be somewhere at the back. It's important to keep in mind what cooldowns have been used by both your team and the enemy team. EG: If the enemy Annie has Flash and Summon: Tibbers up for a fight, you will need to use extra caution when positioning yourself.

In an ideal world you would focus the enemy Mid Laner or AD Carry, but quiet often in order to do this you would have to over-extend way too much. Therefore, it is important to attack what is pretty much in front of you whilst keeping target priority in mind.

ADC / Mid Laner -> Support -> Jungle -> Tank

Sometimes it is just not possible to focus high priority targets as you will have to keep yourself alive and out of harms way while constantly dealing DPS (Damage per second) to the enemy team. You can't simply ignore an enemy Maokai, walk past him and think you wont get CC'd to death as you try to attack the ADC or Mid laner. It's not ideal to focus him either, but there in lies the problem. Attack whatever you can and try to position yourself that you can access the backline safely.

A common mistake made by Twitch players is that they are too keen to enter a teamfight. Ideally, you will want to enter a teamfight behind your team and with stealth activated. Try to wait for a couple of seconds after the fight starts as this makes it possible that a few ultimates, abilities and summoner spells have already been used. Each one of the enemies being use gives Twitch an added chance to survive the teamfight and lay down more damage. You use ultimate Spray and Pray at the beginning of the fight and try to attack from the furthest distance possible. Again, you will usually just want to attack the person closest to you but try to aim at high priority targets if it is possible to do so safely.


After a Teamfight:
If your team has won - Assuming you are not dead, now you need to look for objectives to take. How low health are you, do you have life steal? Is it possible to take an enemy tower, inhibitor, dragon, baron, rift herald etc.. ? Are your teammates healthy enough to help on objectives. Perhaps there is nothing to take and you simply need to return to base and reset/buy.

If your team has lost - Assuming you are not dead, back off to safety as quickly as possible and begin to assess what the enemies next move will be. What objectives are they going to look to take, your tower, inhibitor, baron, dragon etc... ? Now you need to either plan a way to try to stop them from taking the objective or recall and reset back to the game at hand.


Taxing a lane:
After a successful gank, generally when your wave is pushing into the enemy tower you can take a minion tax. Generally your teammates will not like when you tax their lane but sadly it's a must-do with Twitch jungle. If you spend the time ganking a lane, this means that you are not farming - therefore you need to tax the lane a little to make up for what you lost. Some people, no matter what ELO they are in will simply not understand your reasoning for taxing their lane, so be careful of the rage kids and be mindful of an allied champion that is looking to freeze their lane. If they are trying to freeze their lane and you tax 2-3 minions ... you can put them in an awkward position.

I'm not talking about taking an entire wave here, just a couple of minions.

If you gank a lane and you get the kill: 1 - 2 Minions (Not the Cannon Minion)
If you gank a lane and your teammate gets the kill: 2 - 3 Minions (Not the Cannon Minion)

Try not to tax a losing lane at all and try not to tax bot lane heavily, especially if you get the kill!

Jungle Routes


Twitch takes quiet a beating from the Jungle camps until he gets at the very minimum Skirmisher's Sabre. Because of this you are fairly limited as to what camps you can kill early and what Jungle routes you can take.

What I have found to work very well for me when playing Twitch in the jungle is the following:

NOTE: Red Buff and Blue Buff are 'easy'ish' to kite effectively and it's possible to take very little damage from them. However, you will likely need Smite in order to take on Wolves / Gromp as they hit quiet hard and are not very kite-able.


I always try to get a Level 2 Gank on a lane (Mid/Top/Bot) whichever is most viable:
Red Buff -> Gank (Mid/Top) -> Blue Buff -> Gank Again (If possible) -> Gromp -> Rift Scuttler -> Recall



For most games, you are going to start at your Red Buff. There are a couple of options here but generally you will want to try to gank either Mid Lane or Top Lane at level 2. You will fall behind very quickly if you do not make sensible choices. Twitch does not naturally do well in the Jungle, it is a very difficult role to play and will take you lots of practice in order to come out of the first 10 minutes with any impact in the game. If you fall behind, you are highly likely to stay behind!




Sometimes it's just not possible to get Level 2 Gank:
Red Buff -> Blue Buff -> Gromp -> Rift Scuttler -> Gank/Wolves/Recall ?

As you can see in the following clip, Galio is too far pushed in order for me to Gank Mid at level 2, therefore I headed straight for Blue Buff -> Ganked Top instead.




Red Side Level 2 Top Gank:
Red Buff -> Gank Top/Mid -> Blue Buff -> Gromp -> Rift Scuttler -> Gank/Wolves/Recall ?

We didn't manage to get the kill on Nasus on this initial Gank but Annie killed him as soon as he came back to lane, about 10 seconds later. I got too excited and ganked before Annie could get her stun up. Note the amount of Creep Damage though, you need to factor that in when you are chasing a champion in their lane.





Blue Side Level 2 Bot Gank:
Red Buff -> Gank Bot -> Gank Mid ? -> Blue Buff -> Gromp -> Gank/Rift Scuttler/Recall ?
