About me
Also that guide does NOT explain how to ADC in general, so you might get that information by another guide or you already know how to ADC in general by yourself. This is more about Ezreal and specifically his Gameplay.
Pros
+ Good Poke with Mystic Shot + Low Cooldowns + 2 item powerspike is really strong + Perfect synergy with Kleptomancy + Quick escape with his Arcane Shift |
|
- Needs to stack his Tear of the Goddess--> takes a bit and no extra damage from first back - Needs early back for tear - Falls off late game - Skill shot based |
Inspiration
|
Your keystone is Kleptomancy. Kleptomancy works perfect with your Mystic Shot, because it activates the effect of Kleptomancy. So every time you hit one of your Mystic Shot's on to an enemy champion you get gold for it and maybe an item. So you get a massive gold lead towards your enemy. If you are lucky you might get some Elixirs early on. |
Magical Footwear gives you free boots at minute 10 or even a bit earlier. You need to save your Gold anyways for your early Tear of the Goddess and Sheen so you get another Gold lead. Plus the extra movement spead is pretty good. |
Future's Market can help you to get important items, if you have not enough gold for them at the moment. I like it, but you can also go for Biscuit Delivery if you want these Cookies in your laning phase for more sustain. |
Cosmic Insight is just pretty solid and pretty much works on every champion. The other 2 options are not really viable for Ezreal so you go with Cosmic Insight right here. |
Sorcery
|
Your second Tree is Sorcery. Some people thought about going Precision as second tree to get back the attack speed Riot took away from him on that one patch. I still think Sorcery is better, because the extra AD you get from it support your poke Damage and because of the runes you can choose here.
Your first rune from Sorcery is Manaflow Band. This supports your Mana since you are constantly using spells to poke the enemy and stack your Tear of the Goddess. |
Scorch is pretty fine for you too since it supports your poke damage of your Mystic Shot. |
Your Starting items are very similar to other ADC's tho: You go for a Doran's Blade, a Health Potion and ofc you get your Stealth Ward.
At your first back you always want to get Tear of the Goddess. Since you need 750 stacks to complete the item it will be a long way and you want to get that as early as you can. Also grab a Sheen if you have enough gold for both of it.
At your second back you want to get Sheen (if you dont have it already) and a Pickaxe. If you can, upgrade your boots into Ionian Boots of Lucidity. After you got that you want to upgrade your Tear of the Goddess into Manamune.
If you decide to upgrade your Sheen into a Trinity Force you are going a bit more offensive. Note that you should build Trinity Force when youre ahead or you need to deal alot of damage while kiting wont be that important. |
If you decide to upgrade your Sheen into an Iceborn Gauntlet you are going a more defensive way. You can build Iceborn Gauntlet when you feel that you need more Utility or when you are behind since it is pretty cheap. |
Nevermind for which upgrade of Sheen you will go, your path from here is almost the same. Notice, that you should rush to your base if you completed stacking your Tear of the Goddess to buy a second Tear of the Goddess. After you got your 4 Core items, Ionian Boots of Lucidity, Muramana, Trinity Force or Iceborn Gauntlet and Archangel's Staff, you should build up for a Blade of the Ruined King. That item will give you back some attack speed and also gets you a good amount of lifesteal. After that you will decide if they have a lot of CC, then you go for a Mercurial Scimitar, or if they have a lot of tanks and you need armor pen, then you go for a Lord Dominik's Regards.
Also dont forget to upgrade your Stealth Ward into a Farsight Alteration.
Defensive Support
If you get a really defensive Support (example Janna) you dont want action in your lane. You just farm up, the whole time. Still try to hit some Mystic Shot's to activate the effect of Kleptomancy. You should still try to pressure the enemy laner since you need to use your strong poke in lane and your 2 item powerspike |
Aggressive Support
If you get a really aggressive Support (example Leona) you will fight alot. You can go in deep with your Arcane Shift as an opening move. Notice then, that you have no back up to get out except for your summoner spells. After you went in you should just fire an Auto attack on to the enemy you focus, after that a Mystic Shot combined with another Auto attack, then an Essence Flux at your Support and the enemy and at least some Auto attacks after it. If you are already Level 6 or above use your Trueshot Barrage at the beginning of the fight. |
Poke Support
If you get a poke Support (like Zyra) you will just let the support do the work with their Damage to poke the enemy down. You will help them poking the enemy low with a couple of Mystic Shot's. |
More important facts for laning
Also really important: Never let your Tear of the Goddess fall apart ! Stack it also when you walk towards your lane so it wont fall apart. A good time to have all the 750 is from 15-20th minute. You shouldn't need more time to stack it. You should keep the poke-kill-sustain triangle in mind. If you dont know what it is, here is a quick explanation to it. It literally describes the 3 types of a Botlane and tells you, which one counters which one. So remember: Poke beats Kill, Kill beats Sustain and Sustain beats Poke. That's just a little reminder for you for the Champ select. When last hitting with Ezreal you can make use of your Mystic Shot. When 2 minions are getting low at the same time you can Auto attack one of them and fire a Mystic Shot at the other one to get both last hits. As you might notice right now there is no section forn the Combos this time. I think I've explained kind of all the combos in this section combined with the situations you use them. |

|
When the game goes on and you get out of lane you still keep your playstyle. When the enemy team groups up for a teamfight you will try to poke them before your team or the other team engages. Also you can kite pretty well with Ezreal, because of his high mobility. In a Teamfight you will try to stay behind your support and just kite the one enemy, who is trying to kill you. To get the most DPS you should put a spell in between your Auto attacks, because it helps you to proc. Kleptomancy. Your spells also have a really low Cooldwon in late game so you can almost spam them. You should also be patient with the use of your Trueshot Barrage. The animation forces you to stand still for a moment. Assassins or tanks, who want to zone you, will use this to get on to you. You should use your Trueshot Barrage in late game for alot of wave clear and before or after a fight. |
