Introduction...

Poppy is my main and the only differences that Ive noticed between AD and AP Poppy is that with AP Poppy you need to be a little more cautious until you can get your giants belt but she can pack more of a 1,2 punch than AD Poppy. She is one hell of a champion that will make your opponents tremble in fear when you dash of a bush.
AD Poppy might not have as good of a 1,2 punch but she can do more damage in auto attacks so take advantage of that.

Im putting both builds of Poppy in here just because my style of play with her doesn't differ between builds.
Let me start off by displaying the details of Poppy's skills and the reasons and my knowledge behind them.
Valiant Fighter : Any damage dealt to Poppy that exceeds 10% of her current health is reduced by 50%. This does not reduce damage from structures.
Her amazing passive, this is one of the reasons i love Poppy, lets say you're lvl 1 and your going against another champion and you both have 100 health and he does an ability that would do 150 damage (thanks to her passive), it would only do 75.
Devastating Blow : Poppy enhances her next attack so it will also deal extra magic damage and 8% of the target's max health as magic damage. The magic damage based on 8% of the target's max health cannot exceed a threshold based on rank.
[*] Cost: 55 mana
[*] Cooldown: 8 / 7 / 6 / 5 / 4 seconds
[*] Extra Magic Damage: 20 / 40 / 60 / 80 / 100 (+0.6 per ability power)
[*] Threshold: 75 / 150 / 225 / 300 / 375
Her mass damage hitter, her nuclear explosion, The Devastating Blow :D such insane damage with this skill ive hit over 1000 easily late game with this skill, basically like
Jax Jax's empower but (in my opinion) better. Does more damage late game with AP which is a major reason why it works combined with spell vamp. With AD it still does a plentiful amount off damage and is your bread and butter for taking down beefy foes.
Paragon of Demacia : (Passive): Upon being hit or attacking an enemy, Poppy's armor and damage are increased for 5 seconds. This effect can stack 10 times.
(Active): Poppy gains max stacks of Paragon of Demacia and her movement speed is increased for 5 seconds.
[*] Cooldown: 12 seconds
[*] Cost: 70 / 75 / 80 / 85 / 90 mana
[*] Armor & Attack Damage: 1.5 / 2 / 2.5 / 3 / 3.5 per stack
[*] Movement Speed: 17 / 19 / 21 / 23 / 25 %
Her move anywhere faster than you spell, that also adds 35 armor and attack damage and with 5 points invested in it, it helps you show up places faster, catch or surprise people, or slip away from a battle when needed.
Heroic Charge : (Active): Poppy charges at an enemy and carries them further. The initial impact deals a small amount of magic damage, and if they collide with terrain, her target will take a high amount of magic damage and be stunned for 1.5 seconds.
[*] Cost: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 mana
[*] Range: 525
[*] Cooldown: 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 / 8 seconds
[*] Magic Damage: 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 / 150 (+0.4 per ability power)
[*] Collision Magic Damage: 75 / 125 / 175 / 225 / 275(+0.4 per ability power)
Her initiating skill, and her stun that makes walls your friend.
Diplomatic Immunity :(Active): Poppy focuses intensely on a single target, dealing increased damage to them, and becoming immune to any damage and abilities from enemies other than her target. Damage increase applies to summoner spells and items used by Poppy.
[*] Cost: 100 mana
[*] Range: 900
[*] Cooldown: 140 / 120 / 100 seconds
[*] Duration: 6 / 7 / 8 seconds
[*] Increased Damage: 20 / 30 / 40 %
Makes you obviously invulnerable for 6-8 seconds, my play-style with this skill is always this and it rarely differs..Lets say the whole enemy team in middle
Rammus,
Morgana,
Sona,
Xin Zhao,
and Master Yi, your team is huggin your tower, and your in a side bush. You are observing them harass your team and you notice that Xin Zhao has low health who are you going to use your ult on?
Rammus has taunt,
Morgana has 2 stuns,
Xin Zhao with a quick E,Q you could probably kill him but then your ult would be gone,
Sona would be a good choice unless you haven't seen her use her stun in a while because that would take some time off your ult and most likely get you killed,
Master Yi if he was fed i would use my ult on Sona but if not i would use it on Yi, he can do damage but compared to every other champion he would be the least threat in a 5v1. So my view on her ult is not to use it on the person that would be the least threat but if its a 1v1 and you are having trouble use it because you dont want anyone showin you up right?:]

Devastating Blow. You really only need to use your
Heroic Charge once and
Paragon of Demacia once, you only need to push the enemy once and most likely you will only get to use your PoD once (it lasts 5 seconds) and then you just spam your Q and chase.

My item build for either build of Poppy can be modified based on what you like but these are my opinion on the items needed-
- helps you deal more damage.
- 100% of your ability power on you next auto attack :]
- now you can really be the Paragon of Demacia!
You will notice that i get the
,and the
you can these in either order depending on if you need health or a little spell vamp and you want more AP.
- Okay now this is where it differs in other build ive seen, in other builds i haven't seen this item and it helps so much, AP, an aura, and 25% spell vamp, with Poppy's abilities hitting as much as they do you can gain all your life back so easy which makes you alot more of a danger.
- More health a slow and AP an item that keeps you up to level with your health, i know that
Rod of Ages would seem a better item but by the time you have this item its mostly late game, but if you feel like its gonna be alot longer by all means go with the Rod of Ages it casts a little less (like 15 i think lol).
As you've noticed i only have 5 items on her build, but thats because its expensive and i only move onto the 6th item over the 40 minute mark on most occasions. But there is a vast amount of things you could get, You could go for a
Hextech Gunblade,
Banshee's Veil, another
Rabadon's Deathcap, or an
Abyssal Mask depending on how the game is looking i would even advise a
Zhonya's Hourglass if the enemy team hes a dps that is kicken your butt all around the map. Some people might say why dont you have
Deathfire Grasp? and thats because poppy doesnt need it build her good early game and you can rape even faster without it while grabbing your main items.
-Attack speed more hits=more crits :) could also be switched with
Boots of Swiftness or some Mercury Tred's
-Poppy's peanut butter to her jelly, lets see it gives you health, mana, ap, ad, slow, critical chance, movement speed, attack speed, and
Sheen that is Poppy's MUST HAVE item passive gives you 100% more base damage.
-More movement speed because she needs to go as FAST as possible, critical chance, and attack speed which is greatly desired.
- I feel you should get this before
Bloodthirster but after the
Vampiric Scepter because it gives you more damage fast and more of a critical chance that helps greatly and by getting this after the vampiric scepter helps with some lifesteal.
- okay by the time you start this item or even before you do the enemies that escape Poppy's wrath grow stronger and you this can help with a spell shield and some health and mana. (can be switched with bloodthirster if you arent worrying at all)
- More damage and more lifesteal with every minion kill, so make room minions Poppy is coming fast as hell!
I build this way because Poppy is nearly Invulnerable <-- Nearly so in times where your ganks aren't working a banshees veil will make you feared on the battlefield once again.

My Runes are definately a lillte different...
[*] For Marks i go for Armor or Magic Pen, for the increased damage.
[*] For Seals i go for some about 20 Health and a little Attack Speed and it serves me well.the only other way i would do it is a full page of Health or Attack speed,
[*] For Glyphs i go for CDR (cool down reduction) so you can do more 1,2 punching
[*] FOr Quintessences i go for 2 Health and 1 Armor or Magic Penetration for the health that i think poppy needs early game and some penetration for the needed damage.
Runes
[*] For Marks i go for Armor or Magic Pen, for the increased damage.

Ghost-keeping up to your oponents is the only way to kill them so this combined with your second ability helps you get to enemy champions faster and get away if needed.

Early Game
- I like to be the first to grab a sapphire crystal and 2 health potions and go toward the first bush on either bottom or top, I grab


Poppy isn't a good farmer so either last hit the minions or hide in a bush and wait for enemies to make the simple mistake that makes you love Poppy and walk on the edge of the wall farthest from the bush your in and then you smack them into that wall (1) and then use your











-one note is that any jungle buffs can help poppy immensely so get them whenever they are available,
Mid Game
Mid-game this is where you should be gankiing regularly, checking your sides for pushers, and taking dragon when you see it. keep track of where enemies are on the map and when you can go and kill them because your poppy and your fast, nothing is saying on no don't kill me unless all other enemies are mia or the enemy champ is crying in /all.
But keep a good location of where people are start your ganking and keep in mind my rule i previously mentioned in the abilities section. I cant tell you how many times ive tower dived to get the enemies attention W,R,E,Q and make the whole enemy team chase me while i get a kill run away and let my team take a tower. By the end of mid-game you should have finished either your (ad)


Late Game
Late game, if the enemy hasnt already surrendered it is likely they are getting close to, but if they are stubborn be sure to get your buffs help with baron keep ganking andtower diving. if you notice the enemy team roaming around close to your base either go gank and kill them or go destroy their base if it is vulnerable. Using Poppy's Devastating blow on towers can pack a big punch. Some things you do have to keep in mind though, are that if the enemy has a



My whole story behind why i bout Poppy is funny, i was a low level probably 7 and i was starting to learn how to jungle with
Warwick and this is before i had ever gotten ganked jungleing and i had never seen Poppy before, and she was on the enemy team, she came to blue while i was waiting in the bush and i had never seen her before and i loved warwick, thought he was invincable and Poppy just owned me and every day since then that i encounted Poppy in a game she was my worst nightmare so i decided to buy her and since then she has been my favorite champion in League Of Legends.
