Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
-THIS GUIDE IS STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION. WILL BE DONE SOON.
Welcome to my first guide for Ezreal
This guide will help you use Ezreal in ranked games. Just because this build/guide works for me, doesn't mean it will work for you.
In this guide, i will explain masteries, Runes, Items, and how i use Ezreal in game.
What You Need To Know: Pros And Cons
- Ezreal is based on skill abilities for most of his gameplay. Having a high skill level can be very rewarding.
-Has very strong damage early and mid game, this shines Ezreal out from most Attack Damage carries.
-A built in attack speed reduction to enemies, known as Essence Flux which allows him to counter most Attack Damage carries.
- Rising Spell Force increases Ezreal's attack speed by up to 50%, hitting your skillshots correctly should put you in no worry to buy attack speed items, allowing you to purchase Mercury's Treads
- Arcane Shift is a built in flash, allowing you to jump out of danger, and feel free not to carry the summoner spell Flash
- Ezreal also has a all-in-one Nuke, Sniper, and Buff Stealer. Trueshot Barrage is your golden key on Ezreal. It opens opportunities for kills and free buffs.
-Due to the fact that Ezreal is skillshot based, having a low quality in aiming can highly effect your damage throughout the game.
-Like every other carry, Ezreal is very squishy, which means if he is focused in team fights, he can be killed within a split second.
-Has no CC of any form. Leaving him very vulnerable if not with teammates.
-As well as for having no CC, he is also very vulnerable to crowd control.
ALSO YOUR TEAM WILL HATE YOU IF YOU MISS YOUR Q ALL THE TIME
What You Need To Know: Masteries
Masteries are very effective, depending on what type of role you are playing, as a Attack Damage carry you should focus on having more physical damage, with a low utility.
Your Masteries should be based on the average Attack Damage carry set up
There isn't much to explain, Your offensive tree should stay the same, but you may modify your utility. You should only have 9 mastery points left, so left me explain what you may use it on.
Haste -A very good option if you feel the need to take Ghost instead of Flash
Spatial Accuracy -If you are a fan of Teleport, this wouldn't be a bad idea to have, it provides a 0.5 second reduction on casting it, which can be very helpful, as well as decreasing the cooldown by 5 seconds.
Good Hands -Can actually help your late game, it provides the ability to have your death timer reduced by up to 10%, which can save games.
Perseverence -This can dramatically help your sustain in lane, the health and mana regeneration can keep you in lane longer for that extended farm.
Awareness -This is my favorite utility mastery. It expands your experience gain by up to 5%, which can help you stay up to level with everyone else, to be honest, i think you will find 90% of players using this.
Expanded Mind -I don't really feel anything for this mastery, but it increases your maximum mana by 5%.
Greed -Provides 1 gold every 10 seconds. Can help you when your waiting for that item you want, even though its only 6 gold a minute, i don't find alot of use for it, it's more for junglers in my opinion.
Meditation -Gives you 1/2/3 mana every 5 seconds, can help you early game, but i find no use for it late game.
Utility Mastery -In my opinion, and as many others may find, the most useful mastery on the utility tree. It increases the duration of buffs from neutral monsters by 15/30%. This keeps your Blue/Red/Baron buff up longer, which can be extremely helpful.
Insight -To be honest, completely useless on ezreal, but it does increase the effect of mana regeneration to nearby allies. Maybe if you chose a support, but even on a support character, this wouldn't be the greatest choice.
Your Items, And What They Are Needed For
Like any character, your items will decide on how your game outcome works. Having less items than the enemy will hurt you, being ahead in items will hurt them. But finding the items that work for your character will be a factor to your win or loss.
Here you will be building Ezreal as a Attack Damage carry. Which means you need to base your items on acquiring Attack Damage items.
Viable Items For Ezreal
What Will These Items Do?
Trinity Force-This is the very core item for ezreal, it's the only way you can do some real damage with your Mystic Shot, it also provides critical strike, mana, health, attack damage, ability power, move speed, attack speed, a slow, and a 150% extra damage Sheen proc which are all very useful to Ezreal
The Bloodthirster-This is also a huge core item, the attack damage helps the damage with Mystic Shot and also procs the lifesteal.
Wriggle's Lantern-In my opinion, probably the most OP item for a AD carry in early-mid game. Provides 30 armor, which can help fend off enemy attack damage carries, 23 Attack Damage, And 18 life steal, that keeps you in lane much longer. Let's not forget the 20% chance to basically 1 hit minions, which also procs with your Q. And the most important part, a free ward.
Infinity Edge-This is the center of nearly all AD carries. The [infinity edge] provides 80 attack damage, 25% critical strike chance, and as well, increasing your critical strike damage from 200% to 250%. This item can be used on any ad carry.
Last Whisper-40% armor penetration. This thing will make Rammus cry. This makes your physical attack ignore 40% of the enemies armor. Basically that tank with 200 armor will now have 120. Or someone with 100 armor will have 60.
The Black Cleaver-This is a substitute to the Last Whisper. It does a better job if the enemy has below 125 armor. It also provides a significant amount of attack speed, as well as more attack damage.
Youmuu's Ghostblade-A item that fits ezreal perfectly. If you finish this from a the brutalizer], and have armor penetration marks and quints, you will find yourself with 45 armor penetration, So it is a possible substitute to the [[last whisper. It also provides 30 attack damage, 15% critical strike chance, and 15% cooldown reduction to spam your Q. Let's not forget its active as well.
