You Outrange him, if he tries to Q you at 6 or so, Burst him. He's too squishy but watch out for his shrooms though.
Akali
Bully her pre-6 and this lane is so easy for you. If she all-in on you, Burst her. I recommend stunning with Q then R and W if ever she hides in her E.
Katarina
Her Lvl 3 is INSANE. BE CAUTIOUS. PLAY SAFE. stun when she is channeling her ult to cancel it. Exhaust is good against her.
Yasuo
Pop his passive with your AA. Wait for him to waste his Windwall then Burst him at 6. He's too squishy unless he rushes Hexdrinker or other items that gives MR. I suggest using W to stun him as he will use his Windwall to block your Q and AAs.
Diana
This is similar to Akali, but harder. You can bully her pre-6. She has a shield so you really can't 100-0 her unless you're really fed.
Lissandra
This is actually a skill match-up as you can easily burst each other down but you have the range advantage. The only thing that makes her hard is because she can easily set up ganks with the gamut of cc that she has. Not to mention her survivability thanks to her ult. She is also quite tanky because she takes the resolve tree and uses Aftershock as her main rune.
Ryze
Ryze can be hard depending on how good he is. He outpushes you and can hit you through the bounceback of your abilities from your minions. Ryze is late game though, he outcales you hard and becomes a semi-tank. Ask for your jungler for some ganks so that he becomes useless even in late game.
Ahri
Skill-matchup but it's in your favor. She's too squishy and just farm in your lane til you hit 6 then all-in her if she has less than 40 MR. Tibbers can block her E and absorb her W and R damage. Just be wary of her Q as it deals both Magic and True Damage.
Ekko
Poke him with Q and when he has less than 70% HP, Burst him. As it is a sure kill. watch out from his ult though.
Jayce
He hits hard. Don't trade with him since he's going to win. But you vastly outrange him. I suggest getting some early Seeker's Armguard.
Twisted Fate
Easy, Easy lane. This match up favors you. He's too squishy and he will just roam to other lanes because he really can't all-in on you alone.
Ezreal
Too squishy but high mobility. And he pokes a lot. Not that hard though, but Watch out from his burst if he's AP.
Fizz
Skill Match-up. A very Snowbally lane and the one who gets to burst one down the other first, wins the lane. He's not that hard, just annoying.
Malzahar
OP Passive. Pop it with your AAs. He pushes hard but it's not that bad. He's immobile and some jungler's help would be nice.
Kennen
Skill-matchup. Easy for either sides. The one who gets to stun who first wins.
Kayle
The only thing that makes her hard is her ult, but she's squishy enough too not live your burst before she can ult herself.
Morgana
Bait her Black Shield and then burst her.
Anivia
She's not that hard, just annoying. She hits hard and her Q and passive makes her annoying. She's really squishy though even with Rod of Ages.
Brand
Skill match-up that is in Brand's favor because of his superior range. Early game, Brand is a bully. Just let him push and farm in your tower and then ask for some ganks. He's too immobile and has no escapes. Just dodge his W and Q and you win the trade(which is not hard).
Azir
He pokes a lot and and a good Azir can just ruin your day. Ask for ganks. He's squishy so you can burst him down.
Aurelion Sol
He's pretty hard if it's your first time with him. Just don't get caught by his Q and this is an easy lane.
Cassiopeia
She outranges you hard. and her DPS is just insane. Her early poke with Q is insanely strong especially with Comet. Rush MR against her.
Cho'Gath
Tanky and can silence you. I hate this match-up but it's really not that hard. I suggest going tanky build and Rylai's + Liandries really helps a lot against him
Corki
Mobile and deals a lot of damage. Don't all in on him at full HP since he has a lot of ways to escape.
Galio
He's an anti- ap mage. He clears waves faster than you and his poke hurts a lot. He will try to push the lane and impact the map more. Don't fight him because he is tanky and just anti-AP
Gangplank
You outrange him and gives you 10 gold(His barrels). He hits hard though but an easy lane since he's melee
Heimerdinger
He pushes hard but gives you free gold with his turrets. He's too squishy and gives no team fight presence. Easy matchup.
Karma
She hits hard and her OP shield is annoying in team fights. She is fairly easy in lane though just dodge her skill shots.
Karthus
Suicide champ. Too squishy and can get you fed so fast. He's lategame is good though, if it gets to late game. get behind your minions as it diminishes his early poke.
Kassadin
Pre-6, you win. Post-6, he sky rockets and will deal a ton of damage. Rush Banshee's Veil and I suggest to bully him pre-6.
Kog'Maw
Like Azir, He will bully you from your lane so just farm in your tower. You can burst him really fast though, if you are in range.
LeBlanc
If you're new in facing her, it might be a little hard especially at early game. At early game, she hits hard but she kinda falls of late game and she is really squishy. Rush Banshee's Veil and you will already win the lane. If you're gonna all in on her, stun her with Q and then continue with your combo.
Lulu
You really can't burst her because of her kit. She can also push hard with her Q. Her damage falls off late game though but her utility is really good in team fights.
Lux
She will poke you for days with her E if she's really aggressive. She outranges you and has a shield. Very annoying matchup. Wait for her to use her q and e then engage her.
Nidalee
She is too squishy as you can burst her down really easy. Watch out from her spears though, they hit really hard.
Pantheon
Skill Match up. Kind of an annoying lane due to his pokes but you actually do well against pantheon. just poke with Q and if he's less than 70%HP, all in on him
Orianna
This will be a farming lane. She will zone you for days with her ball but she's too squishy. Don't under estimate her AAs, they hit pretty hard. Burst her down first in team fights, her ult is a huge advantage on their team.
Swain
Bully him pre-6 so he'll become useless. If he gets fed, you can't 1v1 him since he's so tanky. Rush Morellonomicon.
Syndra
1 of the 2 Hardest Match-up for Annie. She outranges you hard. She can hit you behind turrets. She's immobile and squishy though so use that to your advantage and call a gank. It is really needed in this match up. Play safe under tower. If she has low MR, wait for her to use her W and then all-in her. Rush boots and Banshee's Veil for more survivability.
Taliyah
Rush boots. She outdamages you at early levels so just farm safely in your tower. I usually rush Luden's Echo to match her wave clear and opt to follow her while she roams. For a control mage, she hits hard so early MR would be nice. She's pretty weak to all-ins which Annie excels at.
Talon
Skill matchup. who can burst who first wins. Stun with Q first then full combo. I suggest Zhonya's for negating his ult.
Varus
He will poke you from afar. all in at 6 since he's too squishy and mana hungry.
Veigar
Easy lane. He's a late game champion so just bully him in lane, dodge his skill shots and deny his farm and you're going to be ok. Burst him first down late game as he can literally one shot any squishies.
Vel'Koz
Hard lane. He vastly out ranges you but his ult can be interrupted by your stun if you get near him. you'll need movement speed on this match up since his abilities are all skill shots. Building HP is good against him since he deals a ton of True Damage
Viktor
He has a higher range and burst than you, has a shield and his q gives movement speed. But just like you, he's immobile and squishy. You can burst him down faster. I would suggest rushing Banshee's Veil on this match-up.
Vladimir
He has a weak level One, Abuse it, he scales better than you in terms of damage. Morellonomicon is nice against him since it can reduce his healing. He's weak to CC which is what Annie excels but watch out for his jukes.
Xerath
One of Annie's Hardest Match-ups. his Q is hard to dodge and if the Xerath player is really good, he'll really crush your lane. Roam in other lanes. Farm under your turret and call for ganks as he is an immobile champion for a sure kill or flash.
Zed
Skill match-up. He's more of an annoying champ. Rush Zhonya's against him and you'll laugh at his ult. Your utility is better in team fights though.
Ziggs
Too squishy and his only advantage over you is his range.
Zilean
Easy lane. You can burst him down before he can even use his ult.
Zyra
She out ranges you but they are all skill shots. Playing defensive is needed in this match-up. Rush Banshee's Veil and MS. It's better to roam other lanes than dealing with her. Her plants are annoying but gives off gold.
Rumble
Hard Lane. You can't one shot him due to his bulk, His DPS is stronger than yours too. Ask for ganks and play defensively.
Zoe
She is kind of hard in the early stages due to her annoying poke. You can easily kill her once you get 6 and above.
Irelia
Hard match-up. She can all-in you at level 2 and snowball from there. Farm up until six while harass her at early levels (especially at level 1) with your autos and maybe some Qs.
Aatrox
He has a broken kit but you can harass him with your range. He kind of falls off late game but he is strong early game. Be cautious and don't let him snowball.
Sylas
You have similar ranges but he has a stronger wave clear. At early levels, harass him with your autos. But be alarmed for his abilities since they have high base damages. His W can heal him by a lot especially if he is very low. Rush Morellonomicon.
Urgot
Rush Seeker's Armguard. It's hard to burst him down because he is very tanky and has a lot of shield. Just farm in lane and you can impact better in teamfights.
Hi everyone! This is my very first guide and thank you for checking it out! Comments/Suggestions are highly appreciated!
Annie is a great pick at soloQ as her utility is great in team fights, respectable burst and she is really not that hard to play.
Pros / Cons
Pros / Cons
PROS Respectable Burst Stun Bot Low Cooldown Spells ADC Eliminator Can 2v1 because of Tibbers Great at all stages in the game Easy to play Considered "counters" are hard to play and are more prone to misposition
CONS Immobile Has high Mana Expenditure which makes it hard to trade with the enemy Short/MidRange Mage Can be Camped due to being immobile
Spells
Spells
Summoner Spells
is mandatory on Annie. This is her only escape/engage. Nothing else to expand for. is for the extra mobility and engage. is my go to if I know I can get a kill from my lane and for self healing champions. is my go to when facing Assassins. It will wreck their combo by a lot. is my go to as it gives pressure to other lanes, especially botlane where Summon: Tibbers eat ADCs for dinner. Always remind your botlane to ward at the brushes.
Spell Combos
R > Ignite> W> Q> E > AAs
is your most basic combo especially in teamfights.
Q > R> Ignite > W> E > AAs
This combo is for champs like LeBlanc because of her mobility.
Items
Items
Core Items
These two items are mandatory on Annie as it gives her Mpen and more AP. Void Staff is now a must have since MR is prevalent in every match.
Get Void Staff as early as possible (preferably 3rd-4th item), even if there is still less MR. They will stack some soon. It's better to get ready than having no damage later i the game.
Viable Items
People say RoA is a must have on Annie, but for me it's not. It does give her sustain and AP. But its utility isn't that good enough late game and you could possibly replace this with another item late game. I would recommend having this to champions that have a medium-hard match ups. It is a good item if you are going to play passive.
This is my favorite item on Annie. The slow is synergizes well with Summon: Tibbers as it perma-slows any enemy team that is in the range of his aura. It also help mitigate her being immobile since I can just throw Tibbers at the enemy, slows them while I run away. This is good for chasing off champions that didn't die from your burst. I like this as a first buy against highly mobile champions like Ahri. This also helps you in kiting tanky champs. Pair this with Liandry's Torment and deal a ton of damage to tanks.
Good early game item. I tend to rush this with champions that have sustain, Ahri, Vladimir and Swain.
Only buy this if the enemy team is Heavy AP or when facing a Viktor or a LeBlanc
Good item for the extra wave clear, mana and extra burst from its Echo passive.
I rush this against Zed, sometimes Yasuo and Talon for their ult and for the extra armor. This is a good item for going all-in especially at team fights because Annie has to go in and will take some damage so Zhonya's active would really help a lot in terms of survivability.
Good item on Annie late game, you can replace boots with Lich Bane to proc its passive which is very good with Annie's 575 auto attack Range.
Cheap, decent AP, Movement speed, CDR. Good first item and the utility that you get from spooky ghosts active can scout enemy junglers/slow other champions.
Others say that this item isn't good on Annie since she isn't that mana hungry but for me, this item is good on her. The combo of Seraph's Embrace and Rod of Ages gives you AP and Bulk which Annie needs since her range is mediocre and can force her to take hits. Buy this if you know it will be a very long game or if you just want to be a tanky pseudo- Ryze AP Carry.
This item has a great synergy with Summon: Tibbers as it procs both from his aura and AAs. %max health ap damage, boosts your damage up to 10%, health and AP. Build this if the enemy team has a ton of tanks.
This is a very good item on Annie. It gives Ap and movement speed, also the active gives another engage tool for her.
Get this if your team needs more engage and gap-close. You can also use this for wave clearing.
Early Game (Laning Phase)
Early Game (Laning Phase)
Levels 1-5
At this stage, you may want to prioritize farming. I recommend playing passively-aggressive. Try to harass your enemy with your Q+W+AA when in range. Use your pyromania stacks to zone out your enemy and as soon as you have used it on a minion, back off since you are very vulnerable to ganks. Don't ever feel arrogant and overextend even if your match-up is really easy(for example, Teemo) because as Annie, you are susceptible to ganks and you have little to no escape.
Level 6
Level 6 is Annie's first powerspike due to her fearsome ult, Summon: Tibbers. Try to utilize this by either contesting with the oppsing mid laner or to help your teammates once you're six.You can also use tibbers to zone out your enemy laner if he still lives your combo and force him out of the lane and miss some minions.
If you have pushed out your lane, it's a very good time to roam and help your teammates in their lanes. I usually replace my trinket to Oracle's Lens which helps me in roaming and to clear off wards.
Midgame and Lategame
Midgame and Lategame
Mid game is the part of the game where Annie shines. As the enemy doesn't have the needed tank to survive her burst yet, Annie is a force to be reckoned with in this part of the game. Try to utilize this and end the game as early as possible.
In late game, your damage won't be much of a threat as it used to be, but your stuns are still as threatening as it was. In teamfights, stun as many enemies as possible. With your stun up, they would be really scared because 1 3-5 man stun can lead to their defeat.
Team Fights
Team Fights
Your goal is to stun many enemies as possible. But your main objective in Team fights is to nuke down the carries, especially the AD carry. Be wary since Annie is a target at team fights due to her ult-stun potential on fights.
