Introduction

Hi everyone! This is my very first guide and thank you for checking it out! Comments/Suggestions are highly appreciated!

Annie is a great pick at soloQ as her utility is great in team fights, respectable burst and she is really not that hard to play.

Spells

Summoner Spells

is mandatory on Annie. This is her only escape/engage. Nothing else to expand for.
is for the extra mobility and engage.
is my go to if I know I can get a kill from my lane and for self healing champions.
is my go to when facing Assassins. It will wreck their combo by a lot.
is my go to as it gives pressure to other lanes, especially botlane where Summon: Tibbers eat ADCs for dinner. Always remind your botlane to ward at the brushes.

Spell Combos

R > Ignite> W> Q> E > AAs

is your most basic combo especially in teamfights.

Q > R> Ignite > W> E > AAs

This combo is for champs like LeBlanc because of her mobility.

Items

Core Items

These two items are mandatory on Annie as it gives her Mpen and more AP. Void Staff is now a must have since MR is prevalent in every match.

Get Void Staff as early as possible (preferably 3rd-4th item), even if there is still less MR. They will stack some soon. It's better to get ready than having no damage later i the game.

Viable Items

People say RoA is a must have on Annie, but for me it's not. It does give her sustain and AP. But its utility isn't that good enough late game and you could possibly replace this with another item late game. I would recommend having this to champions that have a medium-hard match ups. It is a good item if you are going to play passive.

This is my favorite item on Annie. The slow is synergizes well with Summon: Tibbers as it perma-slows any enemy team that is in the range of his aura. It also help mitigate her being immobile since I can just throw Tibbers at the enemy, slows them while I run away. This is good for chasing off champions that didn't die from your burst. I like this as a first buy against highly mobile champions like Ahri. This also helps you in kiting tanky champs. Pair this with Liandry's Torment and deal a ton of damage to tanks.

Good early game item. I tend to rush this with champions that have sustain, Ahri, Vladimir and Swain.

Only buy this if the enemy team is Heavy AP or when facing a Viktor or a LeBlanc

Good item for the extra wave clear, mana and extra burst from its Echo passive.

I rush this against Zed, sometimes Yasuo and Talon for their ult and for the extra armor. This is a good item for going all-in especially at team fights because Annie has to go in and will take some damage so Zhonya's active would really help a lot in terms of survivability.

Good item on Annie late game, you can replace boots with Lich Bane to proc its passive which is very good with Annie's 575 auto attack Range.

Cheap, decent AP, Movement speed, CDR. Good first item and the utility that you get from spooky ghosts active can scout enemy junglers/slow other champions.

Get this item if you're really ahead and get kills easily. Pair this with Rabadon's Deathcap, Seraph's Embrace and Rod of Ages you'll have a ton of AP.

Others say that this item isn't good on Annie since she isn't that mana hungry but for me, this item is good on her. The combo of Seraph's Embrace and Rod of Ages gives you AP and Bulk which Annie needs since her range is mediocre and can force her to take hits. Buy this if you know it will be a very long game or if you just want to be a tanky pseudo- Ryze AP Carry.

This item has a great synergy with Summon: Tibbers as it procs both from his aura and AAs. %max health ap damage, boosts your damage up to 10%, health and AP. Build this if the enemy team has a ton of tanks.

This is a very good item on Annie. It gives Ap and movement speed, also the active gives another engage tool for her.

Get this if your team needs more engage and gap-close. You can also use this for wave clearing.

Early Game (Laning Phase)

Levels 1-5

At this stage, you may want to prioritize farming. I recommend playing passively-aggressive. Try to harass your enemy with your Q+W+AA when in range. Use your pyromania stacks to zone out your enemy and as soon as you have used it on a minion, back off since you are very vulnerable to ganks. Don't ever feel arrogant and overextend even if your match-up is really easy(for example, Teemo) because as Annie, you are susceptible to ganks and you have little to no escape.

Level 6

Level 6 is Annie's first powerspike due to her fearsome ult, Summon: Tibbers. Try to utilize this by either contesting with the oppsing mid laner or to help your teammates once you're six.You can also use tibbers to zone out your enemy laner if he still lives your combo and force him out of the lane and miss some minions.

If you have pushed out your lane, it's a very good time to roam and help your teammates in their lanes. I usually replace my trinket to Oracle's Lens which helps me in roaming and to clear off wards.

Midgame and Lategame

Mid game is the part of the game where Annie shines. As the enemy doesn't have the needed tank to survive her burst yet, Annie is a force to be reckoned with in this part of the game. Try to utilize this and end the game as early as possible.

In late game, your damage won't be much of a threat as it used to be, but your stuns are still as threatening as it was. In teamfights, stun as many enemies as possible. With your stun up, they would be really scared because 1 3-5 man stun can lead to their defeat.

Team Fights

Your goal is to stun many enemies as possible. But your main objective in Team fights is to nuke down the carries, especially the AD carry. Be wary since Annie is a target at team fights due to her ult-stun potential on fights.
