Hey everyone! This is my first guide ever on Mobafire!

Hey everyone, im kappaxis and this is my first guide here on Mobafire, so, i hope that you enjoy and i would apreciate tips that could help me to develop better guides in the future.

I spent a lot of time doing this, i even had to watch some tutorials about "how to make a guide" so, dont except an awesome guide, because i think it's quite simple.

If there is some error in some words, i apologize but my english sometimes "pranks" me ^^

Introduction

Talking now about Jax, The Grandmaster at Arms, is a melee fighter and duelist, which is adapted to kill enemies 1 by 1 and he is extremely dangerous in teamfigths. He can be played as solo top or as a jungler.

I advise you to farm as much as possible and to play smart, with this, i mean for all f you to have some map awareness, last hitting minions, and not to waste mana on just focusing the harassment of the enemy team in early game.

I play Jax as a melee fighter hybrid, which gives me great damage from basic attacks and skills.

Pros / Cons

Pros:
- Can deal tons of damage as hybrid, off tank or as a jungler;
- As jungler, he can farm fast and easy;
- One of the best solo top;
- He can counter everyone with his E / Counter Strike and run away with his Q / Leap Strike

Cons:
- Since the update that "affected" him, he isn't as tanky as he was before;
- He loses power if he drops stacks;
- Farm depedent;

Summoner Spells

Exhaust - As an awesome duelist, with exhaust he can deal damage without getting counter-attacked, and of course, with exhaust as solo top, if he gets jumped by the enemy jungler, he can use his E / Counter Strike and then Exhaust in case of low HP.

Flash - Well, i think this spell can be used in almost every champions, so why not on Jax?

Ghost - I see in other guides people talking about this spell, and i think it's good on Jax but i prefer flash, but in any case, it's usefull too.

Ignite - Deals true damage to an enemy, and with Jax's damage, this will make him even more dangerous.

Surge - Some people say that this spell is good for Jax, personally, i don't like it but it can be usefull on Jax.

Useless Spells on Jax:

Cleanse - Revive - Heal - Clarity - Promote - Teleport - Clairvoyance

Masteries

I choose these masteries because it will help Jax such as in early game, by giving him extra damage, armor/magic penetration and some extra resistance.

These masteries can be used as solo top or jungler. It's effective in both.

Runes

Greater Mark of Attack Damage:
0.95 x 9 = 8.55 Damage

Greater Seal of Armor
1.41 x 9 = 12.69 Armor

Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist
+ 24,3 Magic Resist at level 18

Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage
2.25 x 3 = 6.75 Damage

With these runes, we get a + 15.20 damage on Jax, 12.69 armor and 24.3 Magic Resist, that will give him an early game advantage over his enemy on top lane.

Items Sequence

If you play Jax as solo top, i will advise you somethings about the items sequence:

First items - Boots and 3 Health Potion
Why these items? These are the basic items in a normal or high elo game, and it gives you speed and you can use the health potions in case of getting some damage, instead of recalling, losing farm and eventually getting your turret damaged.

Second items - Ninja Tabi or Mercury Treads
I always have some things in consideration: If the enemy that i'm facing in the top lane does the most damage with basic attacks, i go for Ninja Tabi.
If the enemy he's AP and does the most damage with abilities, i go for Mercury's Treads.

Then, you can choose between going for Wriggle's Lantern of you can start building your Hextech Gunblade.

I always do this build in the first 30 minutes: Ninja Tabi or Mercury Treads, then i go for Hextech Revolver, Zeal and Heart of Gold.

Third items - Hextech Gunblade, get Sheen and build my Trinity Force and get Giant's Belt.

Forth item - Rylai's Crystal Scepter, and start working on Rage Gunblade.

Fifth item - Guinsoo's Rageblade and get all Elixirs and Oracles.

Sixth item - Finish with Madred's Bloodrazor.

In 90% of the matches i play with Jax as solo top, i use this build.

Jax Combo

This video shows how good the Jax combo is, and it's in slow motion so, it's easy to understand how to use it: R - Q - E - W

Or you can do it like this: R - E - Q - W
