[NEW ITEMS - Preseason 11.23] [Master] Free Elo Anivia Guide

By FrostbiteMW
Hey, I'm Frostyy and this guide is about my Anivia!
I've played thousands of games as Anivia and always perform well!
In this guide I'm gonna show you how to play her to climb easily in SoloQ!

These are my stats in Season 11 and past seasons (high dia soloq)

You can find me streaming at my TWITCH CHANNEL. Ask questions if you have any!
Pro and Con
+Good Waveclear
+Strong Pick Potential
+Alot of Damage in Teamfights
+Able to Peel Really Good
+Strong Mid/Late Game

-Weak Earlygame
-Needs High Mana Pool
-Falls Easily Behind if Ganked
Keystone Rune
First Strike is a new rune which got added in preseason. If you attack an enemy first you gain 10% bonus damage against that enemy for 3 seconds. You gain 70% of the bonus damage you deal as gold + an additional 5 gold. The cooldown is this is only ~20 seconds. The rune is super good vs meelee matchups, such as Akali, Sylas or Galio. They cant hit you easily, so you can make use of the rune as often as possible. On the other hand the rune is really bad against poke mages like Xerath, Ziggs or Lux. They will often hit you first, making First Strike useless.
In the early game the rune only gives you around 10 gold per use. Later on a full combo gives you around 100+ gold. Thats a really nice way to generate bonus gold for expensive items!

Predator is really good if you roam alot. The rune itself has a really low cooldown at the moment. A part of the reason is Ingenious Hunter. It reduces the cooldown of items. That makes Predator more viable, but is also really good for items like Everfrost or Zhonya's Hourglass.
If you have Predator try to push out your wave and look for roams in top or bot. Use the rune by simply clicking your boots and run the enemy down. This way you can create leads at other lanes and snowball the game.

Electrocute is the most aggresive choice. As summoners you also go for Ignite here. It's often used against immobile Enemys. Make sure to hit your Flash Frost and follow up with Frostbite and an Autoattack for a free Electrocute proc.

Unsealed Spellbook isn't used often but has an insane amount of potential! You have early game pressure with Ignite. At minute 6 you can free Teleport back to lane or roam top/bot. You can also pick up Ghost to roam, Exhaust to have a better 1v1 or Smite to steal baron/drake.
It is my go to keystone but you can also use others

Phase Rush is viable in some matchups where u want to gap close and dodge skillshots alot. As summoners you also go for Ignite or Teleport here. It's often used against immobile long range Enemys like Xerath who also rely on skillshots. Make sure to hit your Flash Frost and follow up with Frostbite and an Autoattack for Phase Rush.

Arcane Comet is the most common keystone amongst new Anivia players. You swap Ignite with Teleport if you take it. With Comet you have alot of free damage in lane thanks to it. Generally the other keystones are better and have more usage, so I dont really recommend this choice.

Try to hit your Q when the Opponent goes for Last Hits. It's harder for him to dodge the Q when he is trying to farm. After that follow up with an empowered E. Add Autoattacks while the Opponent is stunned.

Place your R slightly behind the Opponent. When he tries to back out of it just W behind him so he stays in the R. When the ult is fully expanded E him for bonus damage. Autoattack inbetween.

Identical to the other Level 6 Combo. All you add is a Q. Once you W behind the Opponent he will walk into one direction. Try to place your Q in that direction so that he will be stunned. If done correctly you can E twice in the combo and your Opponent should be dead.
General Playstyle

You will most likely fall behind early game. Try to save your mana early game and only go for simple Q > E trades when you can. Once you hit the 6 minute mark you can recall, swap your Summoner to Teleport thanks to Unsealed Spellbook, buy your Tear of the Goddess and Teleport back to lane.

Once you hit Level 6 you can clear waves easily with Glacial Storm

In Lane you can now play more aggresivly as you will win trades now. Try to push in your lane and roam Bot or Top. Unsealed Spellbook is really good here, you can pick up Ghost or Exhaust for easy Free Kills.

Once you start grouping and teamfighting it's your time to shine!
Try to Crystallize Enemys of by placing the Wall behind them. Maxing your Crystallize before maxing Flash Frost is esential here. Your Wall will be really big and once you land a good one your team can easily follow up on it and catch people!

In Teamfights try to place your Glacial Storm between the Opponents and you, so they have to enter it first to kill you. Try to stun as many people with Flash Frost or protect and peel your teammmates with those spells.

Once you reach your late game it should be really hard to kill you. With 45% CDR you can now try to catch people with Crystallize every few seconds. You can change entire teamfights with good Walls. Also your Frostbite has now a really low Cooldown. In case anyone tries to jump on your backline you can place Glacial Storm on them and burst them with Frostbite into Flash Frost into another Frostbite.

Play safe early game!
Try to catch people with your Crystallize!
Abuse the power of Unsealed Spellbook!
Once you hit 45% CDR people dont expect your low cooldowns!
Be a backbone and major carry in teamfights!

Example Teamfight

Here's a good example on how to use youre Glacial Storm Crystallize and Flash Frost in a Teamfight. Even tho we lost the fight I was nearly able to 1v5 this teamfight.

Feel free to watch!

At the moment i prefer Everfrost over everything else because of the added cc.

Crown of the Shattered Queen is a really nice new mythic. Its super good against assasins or against enemys with huge burst. I recommend it vs already fed assasins like Zed, Akali or Talon. If these champions are not fed or you are strong enough to survive their burst then I'd recommend Everfrost. The bonus cc is too viable at the moment and is also a counter to most assasins.

If you want to go burst - build Luden's Tempest

If the enemys have alot of tanks you can build Liandry's Anguish
