I have a problem that most of my match-up I cant really build beserker cause mainly im either too squishy or too slow, so i either buy defense boots or swifties. It could be because i always run conq with sorcery, so i can actually lane against solo kill some bruisers

So I think these two weakness you mentioned:
Extremely kitable and no utility
don't actually exists at least for me in my games because with my build when I get to my 4th item which I always get every game I already become too fast that nobody can kite me and then Im always building hullbreaker so I never become useless/no utility because Im able to end every single game before 40min mark so I always have better items than enemy team every game

Hi I think the higher you go the more you will see this happen as more players become better at the champions that are good against Garen and know how to play against it more effectively. Question from a bronze player about the guide. A lot of games I find I need grievous wounds. If I go mortal reminder plus rapid fire cannon at that point is it more advantageous to go navori so I get a 12% increase to all abilities or is it better to still go something like black cleaver into steracks for the roughly ~900 shield? Does it depend on game state? Also if you do end up choosing the navori over cleaver steracks what do you build as a defense item so garen isn’t squishy? Or do you just commit to another crit item for more damage? I apologize if the question is really low IQ but I find the build to be awesome but once I throw get grevious wounds in there I think it loses synergy somewhere and I want to know what it is I’m missing or not understanding perhaps. Thanks

Hi! So in most of my games I never go navori just because while the combat stats are nice, it's a lot more consistent to be building items that offer more durability for less dmg such as Black Cleaver and Sterak's Gage like you mentioned in your comment. The damage% ratio to gold spent doesn't drop by any significant margin and it offers more forgiveness overall whether you want to engage/split/1v1 etc. If you want to build navori still I'd say just commit and go full crit to make total utilization of Navori's additional damage per crit chance and have fun with it! For the most part building navori as a standalone in a traditional bruiser build even with 1-2 crit items in the mix isn't as gold efficient and hard to justify as going other offensive options just because of how Navori works with the crit substat, sorry for the long response but I hope this helps!

why exactly is mortal reminder better than thornmail for garen. wouldnt it be better to get thornmail so you can get more tanky stats

Hi! It's because the combat stats you get from mortal reminder are more effective than the armor and hp you get from thornmail. Thornmail relistically is only good against full ad situations and you can never use it's grevious wound to the full potential since Garen doesn't have any cc. Mortal teminder you can make use of all it's stats no matter the circumstances and you can proc the max grevious wounds value. You may think it's better to survive longer as Garen, but Garen's current iteration is honestly closer to a fighter rather than a tank. You won't have to worry about being tankier if you just kill them all!

Hello! Phase rush is actually my current most played rune as well and I think overall its a lot more consistent than conqueror at the moment because of the champions that are meta. However, I would like to give credit where credit is due. The original innovator behind the Phase Rush build is actually the current number 1 Garen NA I am Sunlight! Everyone else took after his playstyle after he popularized it by hitting challenger.

I will definitely add it to the match up section once I find the time to do so! In general you want to look for short trades where you make him use his E, which is the invulnerable to a single direction ability, and then look for a all in while its on cooldown. Hope this helps!

So in general this is how you wanna build?
1. grievies boots
2. Stridebreaker
3. Either stormrazor or mortal reminder
4. After that you just wanna build armor items

So in general I rush zerkers, Stridebreaker/Hullbreaker (vs AP top laners), Mortal reminder/ Deadmans/ or Stride if I rushed Hull, into whatever situational items that I believe are good to build for the game! Remember that the guide is meant to help you itemize not necessarily be a absolute "you must build these every game" thing!
