Hello!

This is my first guide here on Mobafire and if you have read the first chapter you will know exactly why I'm making this guide!

Well, I should tell you a little bit more about myself. I love Ryze... Ryze was the first champion I have ever played and I learned the ropes with him pretty quick and although the previous nerfs I think he is still awesome and he is in my opinion the most fun to play mid champion there is.

Teleport is mainly useful for teleport ganks which can turn a teamfight or even the whole game around

Flash is a great spell either if you want to chase someone down and secure the kill or if you want to escape when being chased yourself.

The idea of Ryze is to kind off stack him up as much as you can with mana and at the same time turning him slightly off tanky.

Sapphire Crystal + 2x Health Potions Is a great start for Ryze since he gets that little starting damage to harrass.

As Ryze you will need to start charging your Tear early and that's why it's second buy.

sight ward Always keep your two mid bushes warded to keep yourself safe from ganks

What boots should I buy?

Sorcerer's Shoes Are really nice if you want to get that extra little damage in and if the game is going in your favour.

These are nice if you're getting ganked alot and if the enemy mid player is stacking alot of ap.

These can also be great if the enemy team or the mid champ is focusing on only AD, you should not have to buy these very often.

Combos is the most important thing when it comes to playing Ryze in my opinion. Much affected that he gets reduced cooldown on each ability cast it is very easy to do alot of damage with Ryze's combos.

Advice no.1.

Buy Tear of the Goddess as soon as possible. Casting spells while not possessing Tear of the Goddess should be considered wasteful!

Advice no.2.

Do not use abilities on minions early in the game. Save your abilities and mana for harassing your opponents, zoning and denying them their farm and experience.

Advice no.3.

Farm as much as possible, but do not steal minions from your teammates, especially when they tell you not to.

Advice no.4.

Use Overload every 4 seconds to build up your Tear of the Goddess as fast as possible, if you can afford spending that much mana.

Advice no.5.

You should always carry at least one Health Potion with you to counter Ignites, poisons and similar attacks.

Advice no.6.

When you have blue buff be very careful not to die as by doing so you not only die and give your opponents gold, but also buff them and significantly lower the survival chances of your teammates, especially if a good mana user gets the buff.

Advice no.6.

Learn Smart Casting! It is ideal for Ryze as all of his abilities require you to choose one specific target. This way of casting is also seriously faster and lets you spam abilities, which Ryze does throughout the entire game, at your will.

Advice no.6.

When you buy Sight Wards, buy only one and position it as soon as possible so that your opponents do not see your inventory while you are carrying this item.

Try to chill when you play as it is simply more fun than raging.
