Morgana's E ability makes all your abilities useless for 5 seconds. Your hook is on a lower cool down than her spell shield so try to hook right away when it comes up.

Introduction
Welcome to my Season 5 Thresh Guide! My name is Tickle Mah Butt and I am currently a Platinum II Thresh main. This guide is a work in progress and I still need to add more chapters, videos and photo explanations, and more edits to the stuff I have already put in. This is also my first guide on MobaFire and my hope is for other people to learn how to play Thresh.
Pros:
>Best utility support in the game
> Death Sentence can catch people out
>Can Dark Passage allies to safety or setup ally jungler ganks
> Tanky
> Can jump over walls to jungle camps, dragon, or baron
> Can Flay many champions out of their dashes
> One of the hardest peeling champions
> The Box can hit more than 1 champion and has a nice slow
> Late game with many Damnation souls makes you tanky and your abilities hurtCons:
> Has no sustain
> If you miss Death Sentence the cool down is long
> Higher elo it is easy to dodge Death Sentence
> Have to rely on lots of Damnation souls to stay tanky
> Death Sentence has windup time
> Takes time to learn

Runes
- Greater Quintessence of Armor: Thresh needs armor quints because he has no scaling armor and relies on Damnation souls. These quints are the best on Thresh and synergize well with Greater Seal of Health.
- Greater Mark of Attack Damage: These are great on thresh because Thresh can use these for poke in lane and are great for last hitting the minions with your Relic Shield. You can also swap these out for Greater Mark of Armor if you really like the tankiness.
- Greater Seal of Health: These are very good since Greater Seal of Armor got nerfed. You get the health you need in lane and it synergizes with Greater Quintessence of Armor.
- Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist: Thresh will be using his magic resistance more near mid and late game than early game. Most supports will not be doing a lot of damage in laning phase because their build usually consists more of utility instead of ability power, so taking Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist is better than Greater Glyph of Magic Resist in my opinion. If you believe you need the magic resist early game, then go ahead and take Greater Glyph of Magic Resist.
I use 2 different Thresh mastery pages. The 0-9-21 is my favorite for roaming and cool down reduction while 0-14-16 has a bit tankier approach.
Option #1
Option #2
If you are invading or attempting to catch someone out level 1, then upgrade your Death Sentence first. Otherwise grab Flay first and put 1 point into each ability. As always make sure to max your The Boxult at lvls 6,11, and 16. Level up your Flay in lane about 2 or 3 times and then you can choose to max Death Sentence. Max Dark Passage last.
Damnation: This is Thresh passive. When something dies whether its a champion, minion, or monster, they can drop souls. Big minions, monsters, and champion always drop souls. Little minions only sometime drop souls. Each time you pickup a soul, you get 0.75 ability power and armor. This passive makes Thresh tankier in the later game while picking up some free AP.
Tips:
>Try to pick up as many souls as you can throughout the entire game. Make sure you don't get harassed while picking up souls.
>You throw your lantern on top of souls to collect them.
>Souls will go away after 8 seconds, so make sure you try to get them before there gone!SPACESPACE
Death Sentence: This is Thresh Q ability. Activating this ability makes Thresh throw a skill-shot hook. If you hit an enemy target, it stuns them for 1.5 seconds, bringing them closer to Thresh. If you hit a target, it also reduces the cool down on Death Sentence by 3 seconds. Activating this ability makes Thresh dash to the target. If you die while the hook is in mid air, it will still stun for 1.5 seconds.
Tips:
>Use this ability to hook onto monsters in the jungle to dash over walls!
>This ability has a little wind-up so practicing hitting this skill shot over and over can make you a great Thresh player!
>You don't always have to reactivate Death Sentence every time. Sometimes its best to hook and release in lane for poke, especially if you or your adc is low.SPACESPACE
Dark Passage: This is Thresh W ability. This ability has of the most unique mechanics in the game. When you activate Dark Passage, it throws a lantern which shields 1 of your allies when they walk into range. It also shields Thresh when they click the lantern or when Thresh walks out of the lantern's range. When an ally clicks the lantern, they dash to Thresh. This is very useful if an ally is caught out or if your jungler wants to gank in which you lantern him in from the side or behind.
Tips:
>You can make really cool plays if you Dark Passage an ally and then you Flash over a wall before your ally reaches you and he will follow you. This is good for advanced escapes.
> Dark Passage your jungler in for a gank and then you can flash towards the enemy as soon as he grabs it so the enemy will have almost no time to react.
>As stated before, you can throw your Dark Passage at your souls to collect them.SPACESPACE
Flay: This is Thresh E ability. The active on the spell is really good for catching people out and for disengage/peel. When activated it knocks an enemy towards or away from you depending on if you cast it behind you or not. This also slows the enemy for 20-40% based on rank for 1 second. The passive on Flay is really good. It charges up your auto attack to deal extra magic damage on the next attack. The damage scales with rank, souls, attack damage, and time since your last attack. The passive is also really good for poking in lane and for hitting minions for your Relic Shield.
Tips:
>For maximum damage on your next auto attack, wait 10 seconds to make sure your charged up all the way before you try to poke or last hit a minion.
>If you are running away, Flay the enemies away. If you are trying to chase the enemy, Flay them towards you. You can try to position your Flay so that it hits more than 1 enemy.
>Try to Flay before you Death Sentence so they are slowed first. This makes it easier to land Death Sentence.SPACESPACE
The Box: This is Thresh Ultimate ability. When you activate The Box, it brings up 5 different walls in a pentagon shape. When an enemy champion hits one of the walls, the wall breaks, dealing magic damage and slowing enemies by a great amount for 2 seconds. Once an enemy breaks a wall, remaining walls deal no damage an apply half the slow. An enemy champion can not be affected by multiple walls simultaneously. This ability is great for keeping people from getting away or disengaging.
Tips:
> The Box has about a 0.5 second time before the walls go up so make sure your a little ahead/behind a champion before you activate it.
>You can activate The Box while you have a Death Sentence on an enemy.
>When disengaging, make sure to activate The Box as soon as possible so the enemies hit the box furthest away from you first, giving more time to run away.
>Try to pick up as many souls as you can throughout the entire game. Make sure you don't get harassed while picking up souls.
>You throw your lantern on top of souls to collect them.

You will take Flash every game no matter WHAT! 90% of the time you should take Exhaust as your other summoner spell but if you want to take Ignite for extreme lane pressure then go for it.
Taking the enchantment Enchantment: Distortion works well with flash because it decreases the cool down on Flash along with taking the mastery Summoner's Insight .
Thank you for reading my first mobafire guide on Thresh! I hope you have learned something from me and hope you learn to be a better Thresh player! Remember that this guide is a work in progress and nowhere close to done. If you have any questions just ask me! I would also like feedback on my guide since this is my first time making one, thank you!
