Hi,I am Sentinel Radiant.And Welcome to my Malzahar guide,This is my 2nd Guide for now :D,I am not so great in making guides,I just wanna share to you how i play Malzahar, Malzahar is fun to play champion because of his skills and ability to combo some squishy champions at lvl 6 like Ashe, Teemo,And other champions.So Lets go to the Malzahar guide,Please Enjoy It :)

Many men have gone mad beneath the glare of the Shurima sun, but it was during the night's chilling embrace that Malzahar relinquished his sanity. Malzahar was born a Seer, blessed with the gift of foresight. His talent, though unrefined, promised to be one of Runeterra's greatest boons, but destiny plotted him another course; his sensitivity to the roiling tides of fate allowed other, unwelcome things to tug at his subconscious mind. In his dreams, where the veil of separation is thinnest, a sinister thing beckoned. For some time, Malzahar was able to resist its prodding, but with each passing night the voice grew louder, or perhaps deeper, until he could withstand the call no more.

He ventured into the desert without supplies, drawn by the lure of a specious charm. His destination: a lost civilization to the east, known to ancient texts as Icathia. Few believed such a place ever existed, and those who did were certain that the sands had long since devoured whatever remained. When Malzahar's cracked feet finally failed him, he found himself kneeling at the base of a bizarre crumbling obelisk. Beyond it lain the alien geometry of a ruined city and the giant decaying idols of dark and horrific gods. His eyes, seeing what others cannot, and what none should, were filled with the essence of the Void. His once shifting visions of the future were replaced with the immutable promise of Valoran beset by creatures of the Void. Standing alone, but not alone, amidst the echoing dunes, he noticed the familiar voice escape his own lips in a parched rasp, bearing three words whose weight trembled his knees: League of Legends. Now infused with the power of the void itself, Malzahar set off to the north to seek his fate.

Start with a Doran's Ring or Boots of Speed and 3x Health Potion or Amplifying Tome and Health Potion,But I start with Doran's Ring to avoid being first blooded :D
Before I recall,I make sure i have enough gold for Boots of Speed<--(If you start w/ Doran's Ring or Sorcerer's Shoes,after that go back into your lane and kill champions and farm,after that rush into a Catalyst the Protector or Giant's Belt and rush into Rod of Ages or Rylai's Crystal Scepter,Again Go into your lane and farm,kill champions,farm,kill champions,blah blah blah,recall and buy Needlessly Large Rod,if you have enough money buy Rabadon's Deathcap,And then the late game begin,Clash Motherf*ckers,Die!,Let the fight begin!!,After that rush into a Zhonya's Hourglass and Banshee's Veil and your build is now finished :D

Summoner Spells

My Choices

-The most important spell of all, Flash, Malzahar dont really have a escaping ability thats why I take Flash,Escaping,Chasing,Pass through wall,Its all into the Flash.

- Ignite,Like Flash one of most important spell of all,Cant reach an enemy running?,And Your movement speed is low?, Ignite them now!,Helpful in slaying an enemy running,and champions like , Dr. Mundo and fiddlestick

-This spell is one famous spell for all because this spell has lower cooldown than Flash and ignores unit collision if activated,If you want to get this,replace Flash or Ignite

-Even Malzahar and other mages is not a AD champions,other mage champions need Exhaust too Like Katarina + Exhaust + Death Lotus,To Malzahar, Malzahar + Null Zone + Exhaust + Call of the Void and Malefic Visions + Nether Grasp <----use this before the Exhaust ends.

-Get this spell if you lane in mid or solo top to back in lane easily,But it have long cooldown so use this only if needed like Your enemy team is destroying your turret.

-Is your enemy team is a Heavy CC team?,Go On buy this one!this one helps in removing Ignitestuns,fear,silence and other!!

-If you have many trouble in early game,Get this (If you are low level)This spell dont benefit in mid game (Sometimes) and late game.,If your support Malzahar take this
-Mages and some squishy champs need heal,Other says it is a noob spell,I dont care I just Dont wanna be firstblooded,I just wanna save allies and save my self

Fortify-it saves tower but its just a waste of a spell place
Surge-I dont really play with this spell,But i think this is a useless spell!
Promote-like Surge i dont really play with this spell too

Skill Explanation

(Innate): After casting 4 spells, Malzahar summons a voidling for 21 seconds. Voidlings have 200 + (50 × level) health and 20 + (5 × level) + (+1.0 per bonus attack damage) attack damage (bonus autoattack damage isn't noticed in tooltip or voidling's stats, but it affects damage done by voidling). The voidlings benefit from Malzahar's armor penetration.

Voidlings grow after 7 seconds (+50% base damage and armor), and Frenzy after 14 seconds (increased attack speed).

Voidlings' armor: 30 (45 after 7 seconds)
Voidlings' magic resistance: 50
Voidlings' attack speed: 0.831 (1.496 after 14 seconds)
Voidlings' movement speed: 451

Voidlings will always attack the target affected by Malzahar's most recently cast Malefic Visions. If there are no targets affected by Malefic Visions, it will attack random targets.


Summon Voidling is a passive ability that gains a charge every time Malzahar uses an ablity. Every 4th spell, Malzahar will summon a Voidling. The Voidlings gain increased stats depending on how long they've been summoned, and die after 21 seconds.

Voidlings act as pets, but are uncontrollable and attack a random target or enemy unit most recently affected by Malefic Visions, prioritizing the latter.
Summoner spells do not grant Summon Voidling charges.
Summon Voidling does not have a cap for how many voidlings can be active at any given time. With enough cooldown reduction Malzahar can have 3 voidlings out at the same time.

-(Active): Malzahar opens up two portals to the Void. After a short delay, power erupts from them, dealing magic damage and silencing all enemies caught between the portals.

Cooldown: 9 seconds
Range to center of wall: 900
Wall width: 400 (estimate)

Call of the Void is a delayed line area of effect ability that fires projectiles between the two end points. Enemy units hit receive magic damage and are silenced for a short time.

Call of the Void procs spell vamp and Rylai's slow similarly with all area of effect spells and abilities with diminished effect.
Call of the Void will damage Black Shield and the silence is negated.
Call of the Void pops spell shield.
Call of the Void fires two projectiles from the end points. If properly placed, it can pop the spell shield with the first, and silence and damage with the second.
Call of the Void provides vision of a small area around its end points.

-(Active): Malzahar creates a zone of negative energy for 5 seconds. The zone deals magic damage to enemies that stand in it for percentage of their max health each second. (damage to monsters is capped)

Cooldown: 14 seconds
Range to center of AoE: 800
Radius of AoE: 250 (estimate)
Maximal damage vs. monsters: 130 (estimated)


Null Zone is a ground targeted area of effect that deals magic damage to all enemies inside the affected area. The damage each target receives is based on a percentage of their maximum health.

Null Zone procs spell vamp and Rylai's slow similarly with all area of effect spells and abilities with diminished effect.
Null Zone does not pop spell shield.
Null Zone will damage Black Shield

-(Active): Malzahar infects his target's mind, dealing magic damage every half seconds for 4 seconds. If the target dies while afflicted by the visions, they pass the curse on to a nearby enemy unit, refreshing the duration and restoring mana to Malzahar. Malzahar's Voidlings are attracted to affected units.

Range: 650


Malefic Visions is a targeted damage over time spell that deals magic damage over 4 seconds. If the target dies before Malefic Visions expire, the spell will pass onto another nearby enemy unit, refreshing its duration. Voidlings will automatically attack any target afflicted with the most recent Malefic Visions.

Malefic Visions procs spell vamp and Rylai's slow similarly with all damage over time spells and abilities with diminished effect.
Malefic Visions does not pop spell shield.
Malefic Visions will damage Black Shield.
Malefic Visions cannot be cleansed.

-(Active): Malzahar grips his target in an engulfing void of energy and begins channeling, dealing magic damage every half second while suppressing the target for up to 2.5 seconds.

Cost: 150 mana
Range: 700


Nether Grasp is a channeled tether-like damage over time ability that will suppress a single enemy champion and deal magic damage over 2.5 seconds.

Nether Grasp procs spell vamp and Rylai's slow similarly with all damage over time spells and abilities with diminished effect.
Nether Grasp pops spell shield.
Nether Grasp will damage Black Shield and the suppress will be negated.
Nether Grasp's suppress can be cleansed with abilities like Unbreakable Will or Remove Scurvy and by Quicksilver Sash.
If the suppress is removed, Nether Grasp will continue to deal damage unless the target breaks the tether.
Nether Grasp is a channeled ability and can be interrupted with crowd control like stuns and silences.
Nether Grasp will end prematurely if Malzahar attempts another action, e.g. moving or casting other spells.
Using summoner spells will not interrupt the channel, provided that Malzahar does not need to move to use them.

* Malzahar can Summon Voidlings by spamming abilities at spawn. This can be useful at beginning of game by using an ability to quickly decimate the enemy minions in your lane.

*Be aware that Voidlings grant 12 Gold as bounty. If you die while having a Voidling summoned, the Voidling will die as well and also grant its bounty.

*Never underestimate Call of the Void. It is extremely effective at turning team fights, both damaging, and silencing as many enemies as possible. It can also deal half damage and silence through a spell-shield if both beams hit at different times (i.e. not right in the middle)

* Call of the Void can turn a disadvantageous push from enemy team into a stalemate by spamming it on incoming enemy champions. Enemies who were damaged and silenced will think twice, or even retreat from the front due to the momentary vulnerability while the silence debuff is in place.

*Casting Malefic Visions on an enemy minion that is about to die is a good way to farm minion kills or harass safely because of its chain reaction.
*At rank 5, with about 100 ability power, it can completely kill both melee and caster minions at full health.

* Malzahar will still gain gold and xp from anywhere on the map if Malefic Visions finishes off the minions. This is useful both to avoid being denied and to continue to farm aggressively all game long.

*Leveling up Malefic Visions early in the game is a great way to harass enemy champions without using any mana. Simply cast it on a wave of minions near the enemy champion and auto-attack the infected minion until it spreads to the champion. This results in around 50 gold, almost no mana lost (you might have gained mana), and the enemy champion being out of 100-200 health. At rank 1 it takes 6 minion kills to fully refund the mana cost. At all other ranks it takes 5 minion kills to fully refund the mana cost.

*Against a single target (champion), Malefic Visions is Malzahar's most mana-efficient damage ability even if it doesn't jump, and is his only harassment method that won't push his lane.

*There is a bug where two nearby Malefic Visions will not both propagate. Try to avoid casting a second copy in big minion waves.

* Malzahar is very good at harassing enemies under a turret. Call of the Void and Null Zone both have excellent range, and can be used to harass or finish off enemies under a turret. Call of the Void and Malefic Visions both take a second before they deal their damage, allowing you to get back out of turret range.

* Nether Grasp has a suppression effect; it disables the use of summoner spells and is not affected by tenacity like Mercury's Treads. However, the suppression effect of his ultimate can be canceled by Quicksilver Sash, Olaf's Ragnarok , Gangplank's Remove Scurvy or Alistar's Unbreakable Will.

*During a team fight use Nether Grasp to disable any high DPS or healers for your team to pick off quick. When carefully aimed it can be used through some walls in Summoner's Rift and Twisted Treeline.

*A combo of Call of the Void, Null Zone, Malefic Visions, Nether Grasp, and Ignite will kill all but the toughest champions, which makes Malzahar a great 1v1 champion.

* Malzahar's Null Zone deals a percentage of the target's maximum health, meaning that late game Malzahar can deal tons of damage <-- Hahaha Phreak! when multiple enemies stand on his Null Zone.

* Malzahar's Nether Grasp does not have to be used to kill an enemy, but can disable an enemy instead.

* Null Zone is a great way of zoning enemies as they realize it takes away a percentage of their health.

* Malzahar is a great pusher with his Malefic Visions and either with his Call of the Void or his Null Zone. This allows Malzahar to help lanes in trouble by pushing his own and with his combo at lvl 6 can ensure a kill.

*At level 6 while pushing with your Malefic Visions and your enemy laner gets caught you can then lay down your Null Zone and then Nether Grasp for an easy kill.
