Volibear Big Brain Guide
By InnkeeperWhat Volibear Is
Volibear is a tank jungler who's nickname is "surprising damage". He excels into weaker early junglers as he is a great ganker and has the ability to get his lanes very ahead. His dueling is great at all points of the game, especially at lvl 3 and 6.
Early Game as Volibear
Volibear's early game ,is decent and has spikes at lvl 3 and 6. After clearing scuttle, you want to path either mid or top for a free kill/flash. If your not getting a kill lead as Voli, you're not playing him right. His combo is simple: q to run in and the e straight after you flip, as they are in the air. Hit them 3 times and press w. If you are 6, you want to press r straight after e. The full combo looks like this: q -> e -> r -> aa -> aa -> aa -> w. This, with help of the laner you are ganking for, should provide an easy kill. Rinse and repeat in all lanes. Try not to go bot as you excel in 2v1's not necessarily 3v2's. Invading is occasionally a throw, and occasionally a big brain moment. Try to invade against weaker early game junglers and only if you have a bot side blue as you always want to start red -> raptors -> wolves -> blue -> scuttle -> gank and/or kill. Then, walk back to mid with your mid laner and get a free flash/kill and path bot side jungle.
Mid Game as Voli
Voli's mid game is probably his weakest part of the game, from about 15-25 minutes. He has low objective control, and is not tanky enough yet to force fights. That said, rift is extremely important for Voli as if he takes it then full commits top, he gets a free tier 1 and half a tier 2. Your best bet after that is to simply farm and occasionally gank lanes, getting to your 2-3 item spike faster is the number 1 priority. Once at your Cinderhulk, Dead Man's, and Sterak's or just Jarim's Fist.
Late Game Volibear
Volibear's late game is a sight to behold. With Sterak's completed, his damage output is ridiculous as well as his HP and Armor. Your job now is to simply force fights. With a maxed e, your AOE damage is almost unrivaled and your single target is always good with your w. Unless you have a fed ADC/hyper-carry, your Baron and other objectives are very slow so team-fighting is the number one priority. With demolish, Voli's pushing is actually quite good as you have a lot of health.
