Introduction

Hello guys, my name is Cowstep and i present to you my second guide on Mobafire. This time i will go over Warwick, the Blood Hunter. This is an in-depth jungle guide of him, so if you're not a jungling type of guy, you shouldnt keep reading this guide.

As we all know, Warwick is an awesome jungler. He is one of the fastest junglers in the game and dont need to rely on health pots as much as the other junglers (Build in lifesteal ftw!).

Warwick is also a great counter jungler, especially in early levels. While they have no lifesteal, Warwick have his own little trick. His passive Eternal Thirst and Hunters Call makes a great counter-jungling technique early game, not to mention that the opponents have no AS/lifesteal while Warwick got both.

Lore:
"Warwick counted himself amongst the most powerful and revered men in his home city-state of Zaun. Over the course of his infamous career as an alchemist, Warwick won many honors for his craft, not the least of which was a lucrative offer for service in the Noxian military during their campaigns against Ionia. Sequestered in his labs far from the front lines, Warwick and his apprentice Singed toiled relentlessly to manufacture all manner of appalling concoctions for the Noxian army. So potent was his art that even the greatest of Ionia's healers - under the leadership of the Starchild Soraka - struggled to combat the poisons and chemical weapons generated by his despicable mind. Warwick's reign of terror grew so horrific that his very name became a curse in the eyes of his Ionian foes, and they began referring to him only as ''the Deathmaker.''

But even one under the protection of the Noxian High Command is not wholly beyond the reach of retribution. For as Soraka strode across the myriad of death and destruction left in the wake of one of Warwick's chemical attacks, her heart finally gave way. She called down the wrath of the cosmos on Warwick, wishing that his form should mirror the cruelty in his heart - a curse that would come at the price of her aspiring divinity. Within his laboratory, a terrible thirst took hold over Warwick. As his apprentice looked on in horror, Warwick threw open the doors to his bastion and sprinted off toward parts unknown, a bloodcurdling howling marking his passage. He had become a werewolf; a wild, murderous beast. Today, the Blood Hunter fights for Noxus within the League of Legends... thankful of the curse that his now-mortal enemy bestowed upon him.

''The rage of the beast now complements his predatory spirit.'' -- Singed, the Mad Chemist, upon witnessing his master's transformation"

Runes

Runes

Precision
Fleet Footwork
Phase Rush

Greater Mark of Magic Penetration & Greater Quintessence of Magic Penetration

Warwick's abilities, Madred's Bloodrazor and Wit's End deal magic damage. We will need that magic penetration from runes early game, so we can get fed and carry our team to victory.

Greater Seal of Armor

Armor is good in jungle and vs champions. The only seal i would choose when jungling even on all junglers.

Greater Glyph of Magic Resist

Flat Magic Resist. You will probably say "You're not meeting AP in jungle, why choosing flat when ther MR/per level?" well, its early game ganking, right? They wont have that much AP, so at low level we will actually have more MR then we would have with MR/level. Late game there wont be much ganking, so its all about early game ganking.

Summoner Spells

Recommended Summoner Spells

  • Smite: Because every jungler should use it, even if they dont need it. Securing Baron/Dragon is much more important than losing a exhaust or ignite.

  • Flash: One of the best summoner spells in the game. Let's you escape tricky situations that you normally would have died from staying there.

  • Ghost: A great summoner spell on Warwick, gives him a steriod boost combined with Blood Scent, but i think Flash top this a little because you cant run through walls.
Decent Summoner Spells

  • Exhaust: Exhaust is one of the best summoner spells that can decide a 1v1 fight, a getaway or a chase. I wouldnt recommend it though, but its your choice.

  • Ignite: A great summoner spell that will wreck most lifestealing/hp regerating champions, like Dr. Mundo or even another Warwick.

  • Cleanse: A very underrated and underused summoner spell. Warwick is vulnarable to CC so it may be a good choice if youre meeting a CC heavy team.

Note: With these summoner spells you wont have any escaping technique unless your Blood Scent is procced on an nearby wounded enemy.

Bad Summoner Spells

  • Promote: What are you doing to do with this in the jungle? Btw it sucks.

  • Surge: Ive seen a few Warwicks playing with Surge instead of smite. Its useless late game if youre not playing Kog'Maw or Teemo.

  • Revive: Only useful if you're trolling, and trolls dont jungle, except Trundle.

  • Heal: You're not AD Carry, and you got 2 spells that gives you your HP back.

  • Teleport: Are you gonna teleport gank, or what? Hmm.. now that i think of it, maby its not a bad idea. Dont take it.

  • Clairvoyance: Leave it for your support.

  • Clarity: You have blue buff for christ sake. (Not always though)

Skills

Eternal Thirst(Passive)
Each of Warwick's autoattacks will heal him for 6 / 12 / 18 health. Each successive attack against the same target will stack this amount of healing up to a maximum of 3 stacks per strike. The stacks remain for 4 seconds.

This is one of the things that makes Warwick a jungler. This passive makes him one of the junglers who can jungle without smite, but i tend to choose smite anyways for early dragon etc.
As i mentioned earlier, this passive works great with Hunters Call.

Hungering Strike
Strikes an enemy for the higher value between the flat magic damage and a percentage of the target's maximum health, and heals Warwick for 80% of the damage dealt. Minions and monsters will only be dealt the flat magic damage.

Warwick's ace up his sleeve and his best weapon against any enemy, tanks aswell as carrys. This ability scale with AP but also does a precentage of the targets MAXIMUM health, not current. Thats whats making him a very good anti-tank, and this ability combined with Madred's Bloodrazor makes him even better. This is your main damage dealer (besides your ultimate ofcourse). Do not spam it early game though, it does cost alot of mana.

Hunters Call
Warwick lets out a howl that inspires all nearby allied champions, increasing Warwick's attack speed and all affected friendly champions' attack speed by half of the amount for 10 seconds.

Very good ability, works very well with Malady, Wit's End, Madred's Bloodrazor and ofcourse his passive.

Blood Scent
Warwick senses enemy champions under 50% life within a certain distance of him, revealing them until they heal, leave the area or Blood Scent is deactivated. While sensing an enemy, he gains extra movement speed.

Warwick's chasing and running ability. At level 5 it gives a 40% speed bost in 4700 range of the victim. Its a toggle too, nice.

Infinite Duress
Warwick lunges at an enemy champion, suppressing the target for 1.8 seconds and striking for magic damage five times in 0.33-second intervals. Warwick gains 30% life steal for the duration, and is considered to have fully stacked Eternal Thirst against the target, which is removed at the end of the duration. Each of his strikes triggers on-hit effects and benefits from life steal and Eternal Thirst.

This is by far one of my favorite ultimates in the game. A long, damaging supress that deals alot of damage. This does actually work with malady etc. so with Bloodrazor it does a total of "x" ability damge and 20% Madred's damage. Good for ganking too.

Items and Situational

Item Sequence

Health Potion 50
Health Potion 50
Stealth Ward 0
Madred's Razors 750
Boots 300
Sorcerer's Shoes 1100
Madred's Bloodrazor 3800
Recurve Bow 700
Wit's End 2800
Catalyst of Aeons 1300
Banshee's Veil 3100
Giant's Belt 900
Sunfire Aegis 2700
Chain Vest 800
Guardian Angel 3200

Early Game

Cloth Armor
Self explanatory, less minion damage, can build up into Madred's Razors. We dont need Vampric Scepter because of Eternal Thirst.

Madred's Razors
The first item you wanna buy the first time your going back to base. The 23+ armor, 15+ AD and the 20% chance to proc 300 damage to minion is always nice.

Boots
Also self explanatory. Faster movement speed and you will be building this into Sorcerer's Shoes (If you can afford Sorcerer's, buy them).

Mid Game

Sorcerer's Shoes / Mercury's Treads
All your abilities, Madred's Bloodrazor and Wit's End deal magic damage, and Warwick will need that magic penetration, and you will not need boots like Berserker Greaves. Mercuary's Treads is also very useful against a CC heavy team, like Rammus, Sion or Amumu.

Madred's Bloodrazor
This will make your enemies just fall to the ground one by one. Percentage damage each hit and
attack speed will make thier tanks cry for surrender. One of the best items on Warwick.

Wit's End
You will need the magic resist, the attack speed and the extra magic damage. Works well with Bloodrazors too.

Late Game

Banshee's Veil
Best item in the game so far. Gives Warwick HP, mana and magic resist. The spell shield will save you alot of times.

Sunfire Aegis
HP, armor and AOE magic damage makes this item a sad Warwick into a happy Warwick. So much for just one item.

Guardian Angel
Armor, magic resist and a wannabe Chronoshift. This item will make you unstoppable.

Situational Items

Black Cleaver
A very good item that many Warwick player tend to choose these days. If thier team is stacking armor and you need to clear it for your AD Carry, get this item.

Spirit Visage
A very good early game item. If you want it you should get it directly after Madred's Bloodrazor becuase its not going to help that much late game.

Randuin's Omen
A very good item, especially for Tankwick. It should be bought if the enemy team got heavy damage autoattackers, like Tryndamere/ Master Yi/ Vayne etc.

Frozen Mallet
With Warwick's lack of CC this may seem like a great item, which it is.
But i would not recommend to get both this AND Sunfire Aegis, because i only think Frozen Mallet is good when youre using Atma's Impaler.

Atma's Impaler
As i said, you should get this item if you want to roll with Frozen Mallet instead of Sunfire Aegis, so you get that kind of survivability and damage.

Quicksilver Sash
Is thier Malzahar troubling you? Do you want to be like gp and eat some oranges and it's k? Get this item then.

Frozen Heart
Another great item. You cant complain about 500 mana, 99 armor (the second highest armor item in the game) and 20% cooldown reduction. Dont forget about the aura though, its better than you think.

Thornmail
Im not the biggest fan of Thornmail, but if they got a Tryndamere, a Yi and a Caitlyn in thier team you might want to consider getting this item.

Jungling Route

  • Start at wolfs. Ask your mid/top/bot to damage the small ones.
  • Next up is Blue Buff. Ask for a nice leash from your mid and slice the golem into pieces.
  • Keep going to wraiths. Target the blue wraith first and then finish off the small ones.
  • Head for golems. Target the big one first and head for red buff.
  • Make sure you're Smite is off or atleast 10 seconds off cd until you start attacking red buff.
  • Gank/Keep jungling
  • Go B, get Madred's Razors.
