Wit's end is a tragedy of an item for most melee DPS. For most champions in the game in general actually. Very very niche item.
I would agree, keep the BV and trade the Frozen Mallet for Triforce. You'll get the AS you're looking for, procs which will help your damage, AD, crit, etc. Noc attacks so fast the slowing proc should be fairly consistent as well.

I was thinking since Wit's End provides almost the same MR at full stacks, it would be better than BV unless I needed the spell shield. I might do some testing myself.
I'm not a fan of TriForce on offtank noct. Actually I don't like it on him in general, but it would be okay if I didn't take atma's. I generally only get one proc off my full combo, so it's not as helpful as it is on Trundle or other junglers. I'll probably try TF on him for some games in the future, but I don't plan on changing my build at the moment.
Anybody think I should take Wit's End?

Thanks to Nyoike for the sig!
I don't think wit's end should be underestimated, it offers the same magic resist as banshee's veil at full stacks, of course you have to be wary about being bursted down before you stack up that 20 m resist. It could definitely use a buff though
Trinity Force with Atma's is an amazing combo.
I think you should try it in a game and feel it for yourself.
-FM + TF
-Wit's End + BV and that build will crush.
Wits End is just an item that always sounds cool but it never really plays out in 5v5 games.

If we're making suggestions, can I add one?
instead of wriggles - bers. greaves, go wriggles - merc treads - youmuu's
That will give you a good early/mid game boost to your ganks that will really help. Build tanky DPS from there.

Yer terribly wrong Duffy.
Agree to disagree, not impressed by it's stats for Nocturne.

I like building Nocturne as Tanky DPS but I prefer to emphasize more on the DPS.
I don't like the idea of relying on Atma's Impaler because 1. it'll be nerfed eventually, and 2. Nocturne needs stronger AD late game for his ratios to carry him through to the end.
The reason Nocturne flows well unlike Shaco or Master Yi is because of the amazing potency of Paranoia. It zones out enemies who see you, while allowing you to selectively bypass tanks and sink your umbra blades into the desired target.
This flows naturally with building as an off tank.
Here's what I like to build on Nocturne right now. It's not perfect, but it works pretty well.
Obvious jungler start and I head for heart of gold while early game is still fresh for the extra bulk and GP5.
After I've completed Ghostblade, I focus entirely on defense items. Late game, I switch to a final Bloodthirster for offensive because I've found you really NEED the extra sustain and AD late game.
Because Nocturne is an assassin, he has good base-damage on his abilities that allow him to roll the early and mid game without much damage items. However, enemies who fall to you eventually smarten up build armor (often Thornmail) to counter you and your carry. At which point, you need to build offense to take advantage of their less glass-cannon builds, and re-secure your dominance.
Also note: Wriggles + Bloodthirster = 33% base life steal
33% life steal > Thornmail's 30% damage return.

Wriggle's Lantern - Berserker's Greaves - Frozen Mallet - Atma's Impaler - Banshee's Veil or Wit's End - Black Cleaver
I usually use Banshee's Veil for more survivability and an awesome spell shield, but I think some more DPS may be better for the core build, with BV as a situational item. What do you guys think of this change?
If you don't like the build in general, I don't want to hear it. Please only comment on the item switch.
