Forgotten Project & Yamikaze's Challenger Fiora Guide
Author: Yamikaze

Yamikaze is a veteran guide author of MOBAFire and his expertise shows in his mastery of everything a good guide needs. The visuals are well above average and the information is well presented, but more than that, the tips present in the guide come from a very high level of play and can lead you to higher ranks no matter what your current rank is. The collaboration between Yamikaze and ForgottenProject in order to create the best possible Fiora guide is exactly what MOBAFire is about. Definitely take advantage of this unique partnership to learn from one of MOBAFire's best guide authors and one of the best Fiora players at the same time.

An Iron Will Must be Forged | Ornn Guide
Author: WaffleMage15

Opening Wafflemage's Ornn guide is like stepping into Ornn's personal smithy. Alongside his high quality visuals, well-rounded info and consistent formatting, you'll find a very thorough breakdown of Ornn's Masterwork items. Wafflemage's Ornn guide doesn't just teach you how to play Ornn, it teaches you what your teammates should be building and how they should order their inventory so you can upgrade the correct items for them. Aside from the specialized item knowledge, this guide also has adaptable skill orders, multiple rune options and some buttery smooth combos and animation cancels. A well crafted guide overall.

Wild Card

Faith of the depths
Author: Chromuro

Chromuro is an author who takes guide-writing seriously. Whether it's the presentation, information or the writing itself, he's one to push himself to create a really quality product for readers to use. His Illaoi guide is perhaps the best example of this, with information that's well-written and paired with excellent visuals demonstrating more complex information like build orders, wave states, and even something as esoteric to Illaoi players as tentacle placements and spots to fight around the map. The comboes and matchups included in this guide are also a boon to readers that want to take advantage of Illaoi's excellent dueling and skirmishing potential.

Fear My Sting - Jungle Skarner
Author: Maintained

Maintained's Skarner guide is a labour of love for an underrated champion. Skarner is a versatile jungler, and that versatility shows in Maintained's exploration of runes and item options which adjust his capabilities to fit your team's needs. Whether you want to play him as a scrappy juggernaut or a high-speed initiator, this guide has the information you'll need to succeed. Beyond the typical build and ability info, the author includes lengthy gameplay sections on some of the skills that really separate mediocre junglers from great ones. Whether it's adjusting your early pathing, tracking the enemy jungler throughout the early game, or setting up the perfect Baron bait, any jungler can hone their macro skills with the information in this guide.

AD Jungle | 4by3's Indepth Shaco Guide
Author: 4by3

4by3's jungle Shaco guide came as a pleasant surprise. The depth of information, breadth of topics and visual flair are really impressive, especially considering this was released this past July! Like many Shaco players, 4by3 specializes in the champion. With a wealth of experience under his belt and a respectable solo queue ranking, you're in good hands throughout every section of the guide. Like Shaco himself, this guide is creative, effective and constantly changes things up from chapter to chapter to keep things fresh and interesting. Inside you'll find various rune and build options, a variety of jungle routes, ganking tips and a detailed breakdown on the crucial first few levels. The guide also looks fantastic, and it's clear that the author went to great lengths to ensure the information within isn't just useful, but easy to digest and fun to read too.

Wild Card

<Stalker>
Understanding Duality, In depth guide to Kayn
Author: Shadesteppin

With a name like "Shadesteppin" it should come as no surprise that the author of this guide is a knowledgable and experienced Kayn player. Shadesteppin has played the champion throughout multiple meta shifts and jungle changes, but the current version of the guide perfectly demonstrates the current state of Kayn and what you'll need to succeed. Since Kayn is practically three champions in one, Shadesteppin' breaks portions of the guide into three pieces, one for Kayn, one for Shadow Assassin, and one for Rhaast. While this triples the information you'll need to consume, it'll be well worth it when you've mastered playing as Kayn in each of his forms. Even the matchups section has multiple phases that account for each form, so you'll get a sense of how some matchups will change once you transform.

A Lissandra guide | Feel the power of true ice!
Author: Katasandra

Opening Katasandra's Lissandra guide, you'll be immediately greeted with a cool blue aesthetic that sets the tone well for one of League's chilliest champions. Neat theming aside, the guide itself is a treasure trove of information and demonstrates the astounding depth and detail dedicated authors can write when they really know their champion. As you might have guessed from the name, Katasandra is an experienced Lissandra player and knows all the tricks of the trade. Builds, micro and macro are all covered in this masterpiece of guidemaking, but the chapter not to miss is the combos section. Lissandra's combos may seem simple at first, but there are some great tricks, animation cancels and creative skill ordering that can push your mechanics to the next level. The wide variety of macro topics covered and the huge assortment of matchups make this guide one of the best champion resources out there.

Vicksy's Lich Bane Masters Ahri guide
Author: Vicksay

One of the hallmarks of great guidemaking is pruning out any superfluous content and focusing on precise, accurate information. Vicksy's Ahri guide is a great demonstration of a guide that's concise, but still delivers everything you need to learn and master the champion. The author is also a highly experienced Ahri player, a high-Diamond/Master tier mid laner and a partnered Twitch streamer, so you can learn from watching her gameplay as well! Whether you want to burst enemies with a high AP Electrocute build or enjoy the utility and heavy slows from Glacial Augment, check this guide out to set yourself up for proper practice on Ahri.

Light 'Em Up (I'm on fiyaa): Luxeøn Style!
Author: LuxTheGreyWarden

The mid lane judge called this guide "the Lux Bible," which makes sense once you get a glimpse of how incredibly long the guide is. If you can think of a question about Lux, chances are that Luxeøn has an answer for you within this guide. The amount of detail seems well above average to begin with, but then you reach the matchups section and realize that there's a ton more content hidden in spoilers! Aside from illuminating every aspect of Lux mid builds and gameplay, the guide is also pretty fun to scroll through, with a variety of coding techniques, videos, gifs and graphics on display.

Vapora Dark In-Depth Tristana Guide
Author: Vapora Dark

It's hard to be on MOBAFire for long without seeing Vapora Dark's name somewhere. Likewise, his name manages to sneak into this contest. Though he has a number of high quality ADC guides, his Tristana guide is one of his oldest guides and one of the best examples of his work. This is a fantastic guide not only for Tristana, but for any ADC you end up playing. Vapora includes a good mix of general ADC tips alongside more champion-specific nuances so you can improve both your macro and micro decision making with Tristana and learn to be a better ADC overall at the same time.

CHALLENGER RANK 1 VEIGAR BOTLANE GUIDE |VEIGAR V2
Author: Veigarv2

While MOBAFire is home to guide authors of all ranks, it's always a treat to get a high quality guide from a Challenger player. Veigarv2 is a true master of his champion and offers a strong alternative to the typical Marksman bot laners. If mages are more your style or you're looking for a change of pace, take a quick read through this guide to get everything you'll need to know to crush your lane opponents and start one-shotting any enemy that makes the mistake of getting close to you.

Varus - The Whistle you hear is not the Wind
Author: IPodPulse

IPodPulse is quite an old name in the MOBAFire community. It's nice to see him put out a new guide after a long break and it even managed to snag a spot in the contest! While this guide is also on the shorter side, it's clear that the author very much understands their champion and covers the various builds and playstyles available to Varus, so you can take him into the rift with any setup you like and you'll be well prepared. The aesthetic of this guide is a nice plus as well. This guide is still very new and has some room to grow, so hopefully we'll get to revisit this guide in the future and find it even stronger than it is already.

Yuumi, The Magical Cat → VERY INDEPTH
Author: PicklePantsLOL

Picklepants' Yuumi guide is as old as the champion itself, yet it's stood the test of time and is already one of the top support guides on the site. Equally detailed and beautiful, this is an impressive piece of guidemaking that's worth emulating as an author or taking advantage of as a reader. The matchups chapter and combos section both thoroughly explore these extremely valuable topics for any prospective Yuumi players. Definitely don't miss this one if you're looking to add the cat to your support champion pool.

Are You Afraid? | A Thresh Guide by Ahpulzz
Author: Ahpulzz

Thresh is one of League of Legends' most popular champions, so it's quite a challenge to make a guide that stands out among so many passionate Thresh players. Ahpulzz accomplishes this feat in style, delivering a perfect mix of educational tips, refreshing visuals and a dash of humor to make your reading experience a pleasure. Any readers looking to master the champion should check out the plethora of mechanical tips in this guide, as Thresh is an easy champion to mess up. Even if you're an experienced Thresh player, you might learn something new from this guide, whether it's a new mechanical trick or macro advice that'll help you refine your Thresh play until you're ready for the highlight reel.

Surf's Up! - Taric Support Guide
Author: L3gislacerator

Taric players are lucky to have L3gislacerator. To say that the effort on display in this guide is impressive would be a huge understatement. Few guide authors perfectly nail the balance of breadth and depth of info; of interesting and functional visuals; of educational and humorous content so masterfully that the guide entertains as well as it teaches. This is a guide that's more than just a handbook for Taric, it's actually just fun to read whether you play the champion or not. For any guide authors out there looking for ways to improve your writing, take a look at this masterpiece and see what you can learn.

Embrace The Ethereal or Fade In The Light
Author: Sleepininthegarden

This behemoth of a guide appeared earlier this month in full force. Just a quick glance at the coding quality and sheer length of the guide makes it clear how much of an enormous undertaking this guide must have been to create. Not only is the guide chock-full of build advice, tips and examples that help you learn Lux, but there's a handcrafted graphic and painstakingly aligned formatting to spice up every page of text. The rainbow of colors should come as no surprise, considering this is a Lux guide, but Sleepininthegarden manages to fuse together a carefully chosen mix of colors to keep the visuals light and not overwhelming.

Let's dance with DasNerdwork's Rakan guide!
Author: DasNerdwork

DasNerdwork's Rakan guide has been almost a year in the making and the development of this guide really shows in the visuals. Each section is well laid out, with crisp, clean banners that keep the reader grounded amidst the breadth of information on display. The author uses text, graphics and coding to break up information into more easily digestible groupings that make the guide more readable and more enjoyable to peruse. DasNerdwork has an especially consistent use of spacing that lets each chunk of information breathe a little and divides up the guide nicely without having to resort to a slew of dividers.

From The Shadows - Shen Top, Jungle & Support
Author: Silverman43

Silverman's Shen guide is a breath of fresh air and exactly what this category was created to reward. The author took a champion that was in need of new, high quality guides and knocked it out of the park with a guide that feels truly comprehensive. Silverman is one of the only guide authors that can really effectively deliver a high quality multi-role guide that covers each role in enough detail to compete with focused, single-role guides. It's quite an achievement to juggle all the information necessary to deliver to satisfy readers looking to play Shen in the jungle, top lane or support roles, yet Silverman manages to make it look easy. This brand new guide might be the author's best work yet.

Sate Your Hunger - A Kog'Maw Guide
Author: Lycra

Kog'Maw really needed an updated ADC guide and Lycra swoops in to deliver exactly what ADC Kog'Maw players were looking for. This guide is simple without sacrificing content and the visuals are effective and elegant without becoming distracting. Every section of the guide is well-crafted and makes for an easy read all the way through. Definitely check out the Gameplay chapters, as mastering Kog'Maw's positioning, early laning phase and mid-game transition is key to reaching those huge powerspikes he needs to take over the game.

If you're looking to capitalize on Nunu's exceptional win rate or just enjoy the champion's playstyle, give this guide a read to start snowballing your win rate and climb the rankings. Joxuu includes both the tried-and-true Aftershock as well as a spicier, but situational Predator setup if you're looking to put Rammus' speed to shame. Make sure you don't miss the matchup information in the Threats section of the cheatsheet, as its a great way to ensure you set yourself up for success and shutdown a jungler that won't be able to stop your invades.

Making A Guide
Author: jhoijhoi

Does this guide even need an explanation? Jhoijhoi is one of the pillars of the MOBAFire community. She's been around for ages and has contributed to the community in just about every way imaginable. Arguably her biggest contribution is her massive guide to Making a Guide which has been used by countless guide authors to make their guides better, both in terms of the visuals and the content itself. Jhoijhoi has diligently updated the guide throughout the years that it's been up and it still stands as one of the most important guides on the site. If you're a guide author or are looking to create your first guide, you owe it to yourself to check this one out.

SHORT DETAILED GUIDE TO TEAMFIGHT TACTICS
Author: Sovereign Kitten

This guide is indeed short like its title describes, but it doesn't feel like it while reading. The guide is so information-dense and well-presented that it stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the other great guides in this post. Visually, this is a great demonstration of how to incorporate graphics to organize a guide and supplement the text information. In terms of content, this is a must-read for any new Teamfight Tactics players, or anyone looking to step up their game and refine their decision-making to master Riot's newest game mode.

TFT Team Compositions: Pirate & Sorcerer
Author: BIG DADDY WILL

This is a much more focused TFT guide which explores a particular team composition: Pirates & Sorcerers. More than just a simple comp, this guide breaks down the drafting strategy, key champions, synergies, and item priority that you'll need to learn to use this comp to its fullest potential. The author also has a useful breakdown of the game according to strategic shifts, organized into the Early Game, Mid Game and Late Game chapters. This will help you transition through each phase of the game smoothly in order to reach that perfect late game team composition.

Thanks to all the authors for writing all these awesome guides, and to the judges for spending the time to go through a ton of candidates. I hope everyone enjoyed the contest and may these guides help you with your ranked journey this season.

If you are a winner you will be contacted this week via email to coordinate prizing.
