Platinum AP Mid Willing to Help

Keep in mind you get a TON of AP from [[Rabadon's Deathcap]], [[Deathfire Grasp]] and [[Zhonya's Hourglass]]. If you can finish those items, trying to maximize your AP isn't as much of an issue. I would probably opt for the CDR and regen from Athene's, especially because [[Chalice of Harmony]] is an exceptional item for laning phase. Perhaps you'd want [[tear of the goddess]] instead against AD assassin mids, but most of the time I'd rather have the chalice for the later athene's. Laning phase rather depends on the matchup. Veigar is pretty strong in his first couple levels before most mages have their comboes, so you can try to harass and zone a bit with [[Baleful Strike]] and autoattacks. After that you generally want to focus on farming until you can get blue buff. Harassing constantly takes a heavy toll on your mana pool if you don't have any mana sustain yet. After you get blue buff, either farm Q as much as possible if you can't kill your opponent, or look to harass them low enough for a kill burst. You can roam as Veigar. If the other mid roams, you should generally follow them to wherever they're going in order to countergank. Roaming is also a good option if you've broken mid tower or you have the time to leave lane without losing too much farm. If you take [[Teleport]], you'll usually want to use that to tp top or bot onto a ward or minion to net a kill or two to put you ahead in lane. Being able to kill your lane opponent is also good if you can pull it off. If you can't, you might want to look to roam. Generally if you're against a heavy harass lane who pushes a lot, you should lasthit under tower as well as you can. It's okay to lose a couple CS if you're zoned. It's better to lose a handful and stay in lane then to lose several waves because you died or were harassed out of lane. There are several ways to skill Veigar. I prefer leaving one point in [[Dark Matter]] and maxing [[Event Horizon]] second. You don't really get anything out of skilling W except base damage. I'd rather have a longer stun duration and lower cooldown. Maxing W a bit earlier is okay though. I also have the top rated Veigar guide on the site if you'd like to read it. Wrath's a great mid but he doesn't ever play Veigar so he asked me to answer these questions for him.[/quote]
