Runes
- Greater Glyph of Magic Resistx9 These give Alistar a decent bit of magic resistance, good for when your against an AP mid.
- Greater Quintessence of Ability Powerx3 These give about 14 AP, these along with the Greater Seal of Ability Power give around 17 AP , good for early game poking with Headbutt and Pulverize
- Greater Mark of Magic Penetrationx9 These give great magic penetration, that will help if the enemy builds MR, or has MR runes.
- Greater Seal of Ability Powerx4 These give more AP along with the Greater Quintessence of Ability Power
- Greater Seal of Armorx5 These are good to have for the off chance that you are against an AD mid, like Talon Yasuo or Zed
Alistar at max cdr, has a Q W and E with around 7s cd. Because of that its good to put points into Sorcery. Because of the way Alistar's Q and W work, he can get in a basic attack after them, and his ult gives him about 60 more attack damage. For that reason I put a point into Spell Weaving . Alistar's W, Q combo that makes him dash to the champion and then knock them up before they are knocked back, is a good reason to put a point into Blade Weaving . Because of the auto attack after his Q and W, it makes Lich Bane a good item on Alistar, so it's good to have Devastating Strikes and Arcane Blade . Finally, because your a melee champion and will probably be dashing behind minion waves and sometimes under towers to hit the enemy, it's good to have Enchanted Armor and Tough Skin . |
Pulverize is your second main damage, it is aoe, keeps the enemy in place, and does close to the damage that headbutt does. This is a good ability to max first if your jungling, and usually second in lane. SPACE SPACE SPACE |
Headbutt is your main damage, it does the most, works great with Pulverize. It is a great ability to max first. SPACE SPACE SPACE SPACE SPACE SPACE SPACE |
Triumphant Roar heals for a good amount, can be spammed, and can really keep you in lane or in jungle longer than some other champions, it is usually maxed second or third because its mostly a heal, but this and his ult activate his passive Trample. |
Lastly, Unbreakable Will should have a point in it at 6 11 and 16 because of the tankiness, and ad it provides you. With this tower shots do almost nothing to you, this is great for when you go to iniate. SPACE SPACE SPACE SPACE |
