Archived? But Why???
Plus, I am focusing on making my first finished guide (Ahri), and I have to do 1 thing at the time.
But dont worry! there is going to be another version for this build, just wait :D
Ty
I made this disclaimer because I wanted you to know that Im putting "on-hold" my Yasuo and my Garen guide, which means I wont update them untill further notice. Im doing this so I can improve my two guides, and to make two more guides to champs I main (Kassadin and Ahri). Yes, Garen is my fav pick for top and yes, Yasuo is ONE of my fav picks for mid, but I play Kassadin and Ahri WAY more.
I hope you understand, actually these last days Ive improved a lot with Ahri and since the first time I played him, I fell in love with Kassadin and played him as a beast since, so I wanted to make a guide fort these two. Another reason was that imo, Ahri has only 1 awesome guide (POPST-AHRI is BEST Ahri! - AP AHRI; Pre-season 4) and that Kassadin has only 3 fresh guides, wich only two of them deserve mention. Even tho those are good guides, I want to show my way of playing/building him.
Thanks! :)
Now, I have something to ask you before we start.
Don't downvote just because you don't like the build. It's MY way of playing Garen. If you are planing to do it, please think first and leave a comment with your oppinion. I will take comments about my guide even if it says that my guide is bad, as long as you keep it respectuf (also a tip on how to improve it would be great)
Thanks :D
This time, we are going to learn how to use Garen, The Might of Demacia. He is a outstanding tank with high base AD, so he can build tons of health, armor and mr without loosing his damage output.
Join me in this guide to learn how to play this fun champion, and to spin to win through the fields of justice!
Who is Garen?
Throughout Valoran, the resolve of Demacia's military is alternately celebrated or despised, but always respected. Their "zero tolerance" moral code is strictly upheld by civilians and soldiers alike. In combat, this means Demacian troops may not make excuses, flee, or surrender by example. Garen, the valiant warrior who bears the title "the Might of Demacia", is the paradigm to which these leaders are compared. Thousands of great heroes have risen and fallen on the bloody battlefields between Demacia and its preeminent rival, Noxus. It was beneath their mighty banners of war that Garen first met steel with Katarina, the Sinister Blade. The infantrymen who beheld this event (and survived) commented that it seemed as though the two were locked in a mortal waltz set against a symphony of clashing blades.
Garen, the pride of the Demacian military and the leader of the Dauntless Vanguard, returned from this battle breathless for the first time in his career, though some speculate this was due to reasons other than exhaustion. The plausibility of these rumors was bolstered when, in every instance thereafter, Garen seized the opportunity to encounter the Sinister Blade again. A paragon of Demacian ethic, Garen never entertained such allegations, for he knew others couldn't understand. Even simply the pursuit of a worthy opponent on the battlefield is, to a true warrior, the reason to rise each morning. The promise of one, particularly one so beautifully and diametrically opposed, is the validation of his existence.
"The most effective way to kill an opponent is to slice through the man next to him."
―Garen, on front line strategy.
Pros
|
+ High base damage + Damage reduction + Removes slows + Burst AND DoT + Nice combo + Great Executoner + Very useful in teamfight + Easy to play + Useful in TF |
Garen is preety strong through all the game. If building Tank, early game you will deal tons of damages *cofcof* Trinity Force*cofcof* and late game you will probably never die. When building AD, you always deal Trinity Force... oh no sorry, I ment tons of damages. |
Cons
|
- Damage or Tankiness falls of late-game (depending on the build) - Countered by some items - Countered by Teemos *-* - Not as useful as other tanks with higher cc (Example idk maybe Xin with his ultimate (but that is all he does in tf) or maybe Hecarim with his 5men ult.) |
Tank Garen damage falls of late game. Its not "THAT" much but it is just not the same. AD Garen is also like that, his damage increases but his tankiness falls. Teemo can counter him and everyone hates Teemo :( Also, some items like BotRK and Liandry plus some magic/armor pen can counter him (Vaynes W also has the same effect) |
Flash: This is one of those summoner spells you take on almost every game you play, and Garen is, ofcourse, not the exception. He lacks of good gap-closer, as he only has his Decisive Strike to get close. A Flash + Demacian Justice to a champion with little health and BOOM! Killing spree before you notice. |
Ignite: Enemy tries to scape with 10hp and you are not in range? Ignite. Against a Dr. Mundo? Vladimir? Swain? Ignite. It pretty much works as a second executoner or a spell to add to your burst (q + e + r + ignite = dead Teemo |
Teleport: It could be useful, as it grants two important things: Global presence and the opportunity to gret back to your lane if you die or forced to back, in order to still get the xp and to dont get behind.
Exhaust: It gives the cc that you lack.
Ghost: I rarely pick this, but it could work. I prefer Flash though. If you are smurfing/not high enough for flash, this could be the proper replacement.
