Introduction

SPACESPACE SPACESPACE

Who am I

SPACESPACE

Heya, I am Mr Hanso, my summoner names are ZetHanso (EUW) and BazHanso (EUNE). I started playing League of Legends during S2 and did a few ranked matches on EUNE. Today I mainly play on EUW but still have an account on EUNE.

I am just a scrub and a low elo bronze silver player. The reason I write this guide is because most guides are written by better player, for better players and are optimized for more experienced teams. I want to share my conclusions with other people playing on the same level as my self.

So If you are a post-silver player I suggest you find your self a guide more suitable for your needs.

In my struggles I have tried to find champions that I can keep a 55-60 win ratio with. I have previously done this with pre-nerf Hecarim and Nasus as Junglers. Elise has suffered another nerf, this time to spiderlings and rappel. I do however still consider here to be viable.

The reason I primary focus on junglers that I can carry with is that you have to carry to advance and because its much harder to actually get to pick mid in a lot of games. I play every role but do what I can to be the jungler in every game.

SPACESPACE SPACESPACE

Why this guide

SPACESPACE

In this guide I will focus on how to carry your self trough bronze and advancing in to silver.
I will explain why I chose to do it as a jungler and why I choose to play Elise.
I will try to cover the build including masteries, runes, Items and summoner spells.
I will also try to explain how to execute it and carry like a boss.

This guide will give you my take on Elise.
This is a guide for a brawling Elise that build more tank then damage.
The amazing thing about Elise is that she can deal a lot of damage with very few damage items.

Pros & Cons

Strong ganks with stun and gap closer
Dont need alot of AP to deal good dammage
Can carry the team trough mid game
Tank and clear jungle like a boss (Queen)
High base damage with both Q's
Spider form abilities cost no mana

Vulnerable when abilities are on cooldown
Poor AP scaling
No real wave clear for lane pushing
Takes time to get used to

Masteries

  • 2/4 Increase attack speed and unlock Blast.
  • 2/2 Damage to monsters=Decreased clear time
  • 4/4 Scaling AP and needed for Arcane Knowledge.
  • 1/1 Magic Penetration is very important for Elise.

  • 1/1 Free gold
  • 4/4 You want to stack health
  • 2/2 Less damage from monster is good
  • 1/1 Decreased clear time
  • 1/3 Armor is good, but you want to save points
  • 2/2 For reduced damage from enemies and to reach block.
  • 1/1 +30 health makes a diffrence early on in the jungle
  • 1/1 Good defense vs AA champions
  • 3/3 You want tenacity to dive on to carries in teamfights
  • 2/3 More percentage health is good since you gonna stack health items
  • 1/1 Great for temafights
  • 1/1 Can be a lifesaver
  • 1/1 Always get this if you go 21 in defense

  • I don't pick any masteries from the utility three when I play The Queen Of The Jungle.
A few of them are quite good thou.
  • 3/3 Movement is good to reduce time spent in the jungle and when you gank
  • 3/3 More mana is good
  • 3/3 Reduces CD on Smite and Flash
  • 3/3 Gives more mana but don't help much at the start.
  • 1/1 20% longer buff duration is great, but I wouldn't put 9 points in this three

Runes

Runes

  • Greater Mark of Magic Penetration: // For hybrids you should go with magic pen, cause elise scales better with magic pen that with AP. Spiderlings do magic damage and benefit from magic pen.
  • Greater Seal of Armor: // Armor seals helps greatly in the early phase and even later in terms of facing the enemy physical attacks.
  • Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist: // Magic resit is important to boost Elise´s tanking potential. The reason these are per level rather than flat magic resist is because we don't expect to be hit by many spells at all early game.
  • Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed: // Movement speed is to move around in the jungle and ganking often and early. Movespeed allows us to do both and speed is great to close in for a faster to perform a better gank. .

Summoner Spells

Summoner Spells

Flash: // Flash is so good and can be used in so many ways: Escaping Ganks, closing a gap, repositioning yourself, catching an enemy off guard and much more! I find Flash to be the best choice for Elise. Smite: // Smite is mandatory on jungler to clear camps faster. As a jungler it is your job to make sure that you can secure your buffs, Dragon, Baron answell as Stealing Enemy Buffs, drangon and baron attempts

Items

Start items

As on most junglers you want to start with and 5x .
The Machete is important to clear out the jungle and the potions is to make sure you have enough health when you turn lvl 3 and goes for a gank.

First back

Sight Ward

When you make your first trip back you should have enough gold to get and at a minimum.
If you cant afford that something went terribly wrong.
You should have some gold for a kill or assist or continued clearing the jungle.

If u got another 75 gold, buy a Sight Ward

Core items

give Elise alot of useful things like CDR, health, hp/mana regen, Tenacity and some bonus damage to minions and monsters.
is great because elise scales better of magic pen then on ap.
is an overall very good and gold efficient item for Elise.

After this I usually find my self in one out of three scenarios.
* You are up against an heavy AD comp
* You are up against an heavy AP comp
* You and your team is snowballing

You are up against an heavy AD comp

or or

is what I usually go for. The passive deals bonus damage and as tanky bruiser Elise you are going to be in the middle of a team fight.
Most of the times i buy > >

If the enemy ADC is very feed and you need more armor you can build either build a for even more health and armor and a nice active slow.
or a with insane amount of armor, cdr, mana (dont really need mana) and a 20% enemy attack speed reduction.

Remember to keep buying Sight Ward..

You are up against an heavy AP comp

in to in to or

Since patch 3.10 can be build in to wich is really nice because you can get an healt and magic resist item for only 1400gold.
and are great items but sometime you cant propritize the total build cost.
In long games i usually upgrade my in to one of the two mentioned above.

If your team have enough tank already but lack some damage you can consider skipping and build a straight in to a .

Remember to keep buying Sight Ward..

You and your team is snowballing

and or

If your team is snowballing I tend to go for more damage to level our advance.
This can be a risky thing to do in case the other team makes a comeback and your team dont have a tank lategame.

Skill Sequence and Explanation

Skill Sequence

I always start with one point in W when Jungling with Elise.
I follow up with Q and one point in E at level 3.
At level 4 I start maxing Q followed by W and E taking one point in R every time its available.

Skill Explanation

Neurotoxin / Venomous Bite

Neurotoxin and Venomous Bite deals great base damage
and scales better with magic penetration then with ability power.
Neurotoxin works great with Elises human form skill set combo.
Venomous Bite is a great finishing nuke with a built in gap closer.

Volatile Spiderling / Skittering Frenzy

Volatile Spiderling might seem a bit weak but it does
a fair amount of damage and it provides great utility.
Volatile Spiderling can be used for bush checking or sent
out in any direction to scout for you or to poke enemies from a distance.
Skittering Frenzy gives spiderlings an passive attack speed boost
and a huge boost to both spirderlings and Elise upon activation.
It is a great tool for clearing jungle camps or pushing lanes.
But that it no the end of it, when activated spiderlings
heals Elise on every attack they do!

Cocoon / Rappel

Cocoon is a skill shot stun that will stun the first enemy hit for 1.5 sec.
Cocoon is great for ganking lanes at lvl 3 and an important
part of Elise's ability arsenal trough the game.
Rappel is a great skill that can be used in so many ways but
it also the hardest skill to master.
Rappel can be used as a gap closer or to jump
straight on an enemy carry in a team fight.
Rappel can be used to avoid skill shots or a karthus ult.
Rappel also gives you vision so you can jump
to a jungle camp behind a wall.

Spider Form

Available at level 1 and cost no mana.
Always level this when you can because it increases
the amount of your spiderlings you can have.

Jungling

Jungle start and invading

As team begin to move out of base someone might suggest invading.
I dont not recommend this because Bronze and Silver player have a tendency to **** things up.
This guide is about advancing trough the lower legaues and we don not want to start the game with a round of russian roulette.
Tell the team not to invade and instead guard your jungle and give you a smiteless first buff, remember to be polite.

At 1:55 Ancient Golem (blue buff) and Lizard Elder (red buff) spawns.
As Elise you can start at anyone of these 2, but Ancient Golem is the most important one and starting red means that enemy might invade and steal it.
Ask your team to guard the jungle and help them with a single ping if they don't know were to go, remember to be polite.

Team positioning until buff spawn

Red lines indicates invation routes.
Blue arrows indicates your teams positioning
Darius indicates your toplaners position.
Lux indicates your midlaners position
Vayne and Sona indicates your botlaners position.
Elise indicates your position

Blue side blue buff start

Blue side red buff start

Purple side blue buff start

Purple side red buff start

Clearing the first camps and ganking

Your team should now be positioned well and stand ready to help you with your first buff
camp.
Wait in human form until 1:52 and hit W to place your and then hit R to shift to spider form and start bashing with W .

After clearing the first buff you get level 2 and move on to the next buff and last hit ii with smite .
Conrgatualations, you are now lvl 3 and have one point in each spell, now its time to look for a gank opportunity!

If an enemy is pushing the lane start moving that way.
Hit the tab key and see if top and mid bought any wards and how many wards the enemy support bought.
This is important information that determines what ganking routs you can take.
