Introduction
About me

Hey guys my name is N1ngendo and I am currently ranked Diamond in SoloQueue on the EUW server. I have been Midlane main from Season 3 to Preseason 6 and you probably know my Talon Guide, but the release of

Over Season 6, I Played around 500 Jhin games overall and also around 700 ADC games around 250 of them in ranked games.
Since I started to play

Here you can see my Jhin rank stats on my main account. My winrate is averrage, but my KDA on

Here is a small montage I made for the sake of preseason 7. I tested new itembuild paths and of course my beloved lethality. Take a look if you want to see how much fun

Who is Jhin and what can I say about him ?
First of all lets start with his lore. We all know the lore makes 50% of the ADCs worth.
Jhin is former serial killer and psychopath who wanted death to be beautifull. He was an actor in an Ionian theatre which is kinda obvious when we look at his behaviour. He got caught by

Alright that's it for the lore. Maybe some of you knew it, maybe you dont care, but it is part of his Design so I wanted to mention it.
Lets keep going with something more interesting.
Jhin is definetly one of the strongest AD Carries in League of Legends, but why is that so? What does Jhin have, what other AD Carries don't have ?

Now, even if so many ppl say "Jhin is so broken" "Tardchamp" "Noobchamp, stop abusing", I would honestly say Jhin is pretty balanced and ofc I will tell you why.

The only phase during this Season when Jhin was overpowered, was when everybody started abusing the "Korean" itembuilds on ADC's. But this was not a problem of Jhin, it was more of a balancing problem regarding Items like

I Honestly thought that preseason 7 would actually fix the fact ADCs build Amorpen and rek everything and at least regarding to

Anyways,

Why do I like him?

When he got released I thought "mhm well a new champ, looks pretty op lets try him".
I fell in love right with the first shot. You could say he sent a bullet thru my heart ^^
His lore, his voiceover, especially the German one (Yeah only noobs dont play on English client) is so good. I really feel his madness, the way he talks, his interaktions with certain items and champions. I just fell in love. At the latest when you oneshotted an enemy with your

What are Jhin's strengths and weaknesses ?

Seems broken for now right ? Dont worry he also has his weak points.

Pros

Cons
The viable Runepages for Jhin
Lot of things changed with the end of the old runepages and masteries. Now in Season 8 I would say there are 3 viable runepages for Jhin. Not more, not less. I guess I will go into detail with my "normal" runepage I would go in 90% of my matches and just mention the other options and shortly add why you can go for them and especially when.
Sorcery first, Precision second
So first of all we go for the

The last rune we are talking about in this tree is

"But N1ngendo you ****** noob!!! I need a rune to improve my early game and

My awnser is a simple "No".
As AD Carry you have zero impact until minute 20 anyways, so why wouldn't you want to increase your scaling even more. Especially the meta we face right now is picked with hypercarry botlanes and super scaling monster ADC's. These AD's dont need early strength they wont have early impact anyways. So since games are usually going for like 30 to 50 minutes,

The second path is going to be

Now we have to decide, do we want lifesteal with

Precision first, Sorcery second
I will try to keep it short here. Whenever I go

So whenever I go for

The second tree is always

The second runepath is going to be

One "off meta" option
There is one thing that is called

Going

My last words to the runes
Always go either

Jhins spells and the reason he can be so insanley strong
Since Whisper seems to be a rather complicated passive, I will explain how exactly it works and how much AD you can actually get because of it. Just go to Whisper and how it works.

Whisper and how it works
As I said, I will now try to explain how

Before we start the hated maths I have to state out, that these calculations are 100% without masteries, drakes, baron or any other buffs. I will use my critbuild for this calculations including

Alright lets start!!!
Additionally, he gains 2% - 40% (based on level) (+ 4% per 10% critical strike chance) (+ 2.5% per 10% bonus attack speed) AD as bonus attack damage.
First of all I have to say that

Let me get to the point. The numbers I will list up can be a bit different to the ones you have or see ingame when you play Jhin, are lvl 18 and fullbuild with the items I will list up, but the difference wont be big, maybe somewhat between 5 - 20 AD.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -

We will start with

Now we gonna add my runes of 15 AD + 40% = 21 AD and gain a total AD of 434 AD.
Now we will start using

Thanks to

Thanks to

28% = 121,52 AD
16,25% = 70,525 AD
If we now add all these numbers together with

What does that mean for you in general ?
Generally that means for you, that once you reached level 18 and you are fullbuild you will have somewhat around 700 - 850 AD. Of course you could also reach 1000 AD with infernal drakes, baron buffs etc but your averrage AD will be around 750 AD.
This is absoloutely great. Just look at your AD ratios and your basic damage on your abilitys. Once you reached late game

And trust me in one thing. No one wants to face a fullbuild, level 18

Lethality, "Korean" or Crit and why ?
We finally arrived in the most important or at least most interesting chapter of this guide. Since the mid of season 6 everyone playing

Regarding to this world changing, legendary question we first of all have to state out why someone would go for the Critbuild instead of Amorpen (now Lethality) and why someone would go for Amorpen instead of Crit. Both Itembuilds have their own specific pros and cons and because of that I will now tell you everything about these two itembuilds before I list up both below and go into detail with the different items.
I need to add one thing here, I will now stop using the term "Amorpen". Instead I am going to say "Lethality".
Basically Lethality and Amorpen is the same thing but it now has a new name and scales over the targets level. Overall this means, that Lethality isnt quite as strong as Amorpen was in the early game, therefore Lethality scales into the lategame and will somewhat around lvl 12 or 14 start getting stronger than the old Amorpen.
Here is a short example how Lethality works or lets say how it scales.
20 Lethality are the same as 8 Amorpen if your target is level 1. If your target is level 6, it already scaled up to 12 Amorpen. If your target is level 12, you already have 16 Amorpen and if your target hits lvl 18 you have the full 20 Amorpen. So basically Lethality is nothing else than a new term describing scaling Amorpen.
Why should I go for the Critbuild
The Critbuild definetly has the better lategame scaling. Thanks to

No I am not drunk, it is 100% clear that the fulltank meta is about to return and the ones who cause that are actually the assassins. Tanks and CC are the natural counter of assassins and since we see assassins everywhere, tanks will be everywhere too. Now regarding to

Why should I go for the Lethality build
The Lethality Buiild kinda changed for Season 8. Overall I would just say "dont go for it" and I guess this is actually the only thing I have to say, but Lethality can be fine if you face squishy targets only. As soon as you see more than one tank dont go for it anymore. My actual advise would be to go

My Conclusion!
I have to say that I really like playing Lethality which is actually quite fun, because I've always been a Critbuild player on

Beeing objective I would say you should just make it matchup dependent.
This means, if you face more than 1 tank you should go for Crit since you will get more AD, more DPS, better kiting and therefore just better overall stats against Tanks.
If you just face 1 tank and therefore a lot of squishy targets, go for Lethality, since you will have a lot more burst and more damage regarding to your abillities. You will also be able to one shot the assassin who is actually supposed to one shot you.
One short addition. Lately the "Korean" Jhin appeared and I took care of all explainings below in this chapter, just so you know and do not wonder why I didnt mention the "Korean" build above.
My Lethality Build

Lord Dominik's Regards![]() |
Now going fo the 5th item we can somehow say the same as when we talked about our 4th item. It depends on the game.
Usually at this state of the game you will face nearly fullbuild tanks which basically means you will need ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
My last words to this itembuild
Once you are fullbuild you will have around 700 AD, 50 - 65 flat amorpenetration, 50% or maybe 70% critical strike chance, 15% lifesteal and absoloutely insane damage against squishy targets, just as you will have a good overall DPS against tanks. I do really prefer this itembuild since it is just so much fun to play. Your movementspeed is pretty insane and you can kite fairly well. If your positioning is good, you can 100% solo carry a game from now on.
My Crit Build

The 4th item is going to be

The Bloodthirster![]() |
The 5th item is again kind of dependent on the game and can be different from game to game. In my usual games where I dont need a
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() "Runaan's? Are you drunk?" No actually I dont really care about its passive, which is ofc not that usefull on Jhin since he has 0 attackspeed, but overall you can still crit with 300 to every enemy nearby because of its passive. So regarding to the highest possible DPS ![]() ![]() As soon as you finished this item you will have around 700 - 800 AD. |
My last words to this itembuild
As soon as you are fullbuild this itembuild is going to have insane DPS. Even tho you dont really have some kind of attackspeed, you are still able to 3 or 4 shot fullbuild tanks.
You have around 750 - 900 AD (in some special cases you can reach 1000 AD), 70% - 100% critical strike chance, insane kite and DPS. The one thing making this itembuild "better" than the Lethality build is, that you dont care about tanks at all. Once you are fullbuild, you gonna destroy everything that actually dares to stay in your way. You can now 100% solo carry your game.
Defensive items you can build
I gonna list up a few defensive items that are actually 100% viable for

First of all the most obvious one,

The last kind of anti AD item which you could go as last item, is actually

Another viable deffensive item is of course the until now missing

ATTENTION, KOREA DID IT AGAIN
KOREAN JHIN
Hey guys I have to add something new here. Korea did it again, they just smashed out a "new" viable itembuild for

This Itembuild is basically not new it is more of an older release build for

My last words to this itembuild
As I already said above, I havent played the new "Korean"

" The "Korean" build is the perfect hybrid version between "Lethality" and "Crit" and should be able to come up for both item builds pros and cons."
Laning and early game
So how to play your laning phase as

The reason behind this is pretty easy and obvious to explain. Supports have the higher base damage stats on all of their abilities. Even their basic AD is higher than the ADC ones.
Therefore lanepressure, engage and vision controll is the work of a support.
Don't get me wrong guys, even tho supports are the one deciding the lane you also have to do some work. If you play

So lets get back to the topic. As

The first one is the one I always go for. Play aggressive. You have a lot of damage, good poke, nice cc and it makes it easier for you to last hit. Always take care of not overextending to much since you are immobile. Always build up vision controll and look at the minimap at least every 20 seconds. If you do so and get used to

The second way to play is the passive and save way to play botlane. You wont push much you try no to be the aggressor and just want to farm up. This is okey if you arent ADC main or you just know you wont be able to win the matchup anyways. From time to time you have to play defensive bot. If you have to play def, just try to farm as good as poosible, dont get poked out of lane, try to keep vision up so you wont get towerdived and scale into lategame. Problem here is that you have 0 solocarry potential. You need your team to at least not feed.
After laning , midgame
Usually the laning phase ends as soon as bot or toplane destroyed their first turret. Now the roaming and objective control starts to get very important. As ADC as soon as you destroyed your botlane turret, you either roam midlane and help your midlaner push the turret, or you go top together with your support and toplaner, so you can simply destroy the top turret.
"Why do I have to roam? Why cant I just keep pushing bot?"
Roaming has its perks. If you push midlane f.e the enemy midlaner most likely wont be able to hold his turret against the pressure of 2 carrys and a support. From time to time the enemyteam has a

While you push top f.e, the enemy jngl and most likely support need to help their toplaner so your jungler can just start doing free drakes or just counterjungling. If the enemy jungle does not help top, you will push down the turret. It is a win win situation for your team if you roam. Sadly a lot of people dont get this in low elo and start flaming you for taking their farm ^^. Try to tell them what you want to do, or just ask your toplaner if he wants to lane swap so you can pressure toplane with your support, while your toplaner goes bot and gets some free farm.
We talked about how to play when you destroyed the botlane turret first but we also have to talk about the situation when you are the ones losing lane and you lost your turret.
If the enemyteam destroys your botlane turret you can do 2 things. First one is staying bot, freezing lane, farm and hope that your team can handle the other lanes. The second thing you can to is just laneswapping with your toplaner so he does not have to fight 1 v 2 or 1 v 3 top. The problem here is, that you already lost botlane 2 v 2, so you will most likely lose toplane 2 v 2 too.
Basically the best thing to do when you are behind is try to farm up as much as possible. As

Late game and teamfights
Now we have the most interesting and prob most important part of the game. The team or player that does one mistake will probably lose the whole game.
As

JHIN

This champion has everything it needs for solo carrying games.

BUT

I already said it but I am glad that

The Itembuilds
Well I already said quite a lot about this topic, so I will try to keep it as short as possible. If you play against a lot of tanks, go for the critbuild since its just a lot stronger against tanks. If you face only 1 tank or just a full squishy team I would recommend going for Lethality since you will litterally oneshot squishys with your 4th autoattack, which is kinda fun to look at.
(Right now lethality is not rly good on any ADC. You can go for it but I would not recommend it. Go for Ghostblade then fullcrit or fullcrit from the beginning. These are the best buildpaths right now)
When to pick Jhin ?
Now we have to talk about one important thing. "Can I pick

I guess you could do that, but I do not recommend it.
There are match ups you just should not even think about picking

I just gonna list up a few champions that will make you cry when you pick

Now when we talk about other champions it starts to get a thing of experience and confidence. Basically every assassin is your nightmare but I guess the worst ones for you are

I guess basically I would sum this up and say
"Pick

I have to be honest here. If I feel like playing

So with 8.5

So this is my new N1 CritBuild I do run right now (most of the time at least):

A little addition:
My lethality build is still viable and does actually feel fine right now, so you can still run it if you want to.
