I am currently working on this guide but thought I'd release it as I work on it for those interested in the basics of playing Shaco(: I have Just started so bare with me as I fill in the many gaps and this build will hold all the infomation you need to become a Shaco master.

Introduction

Hello and welcome to my all encompassing Shaco guide. I have been a Shaco main for about 6 years or so and have about 3 million mastery points on this champion.And I run a LoL TikTok

.
Through this guide I hope to share with you all the knowledge I have gained playing thousands of games on this champ and testing and watching countless strategies and builds.

Runes & Summoners

In this seection I will go over my thoughts on the various rune pages in which I believe Shaco can utilize the best.As well as share my insight as to why and when you should be picking each of these pages.My hope for you is that by the end of this section you should always know the optimal rune page to use for every occasion.

Domination

Best Runes to use

First up on the list is the Hail of Blades page. This is the most common and most versatile page for Shaco,specifically AD Shaco. This will allow you to proc things like Kraken Slayer or Blade of the Ruined King with ease as well as apply your Two-Shiv Poison slow and stick to your target.On top of all that, if you ult while you have the Hail of Blades buff active, your clone will retain the attack speed buff until it dies.

Second is Dark Harvest. This rune is pretty much only used for AP Shaco and allows Shaco to scale into a nightmarish bully late game.Try to proc this as often as possible throughout early game through ganking or in lane as come late game your Jack In The Box can often finish people off alone through this rune

Now we have Electrocute. I don't personally use this rune too much at the moment but that's not to say it's a bad pick. This rune gives you a nice added burst in the mid to late game that can come in handy with speeding up your 'in and out' play style for bursting someone down. Though I would pretty much always take Dark Harvest over this when playing AP.

Don't take this rune.

All 3 of these are great options for Shaco really and it just depends on your playstyle and what build you are playing.
Taste of Blood should really only be picked for lane Shaco as it won't have much value jungling. However offers help sustaining in lane.
Cheap Shot is best picked on AP Shaco as it won't help at all for AD Shaco assassinates until after a fear or team CC is landed.
Sudden Impact Is usually my go to rune and I think the best one for AD Shaco as it gives you that extra armor pen whenever you deceieve helping that one-shot potential.

I always use Eyeball Collection out of these three as the extra damage is nice and the best option of the three to be honest. Ghost Poro isn't too good because then you can't get sweepers early. However Zombie Ward isn't a terrible pick if you like it.

These 4 runes are all great options and here is where personal preference comes into play.
Ravenous Hunter- I like this rune a lot with Eclipse or Kraken Slayer. I suggest taking this rune into more fighter type match ups where you can't kill them in 2-3 hits.
Ingenious Hunter- I would pretty much only take this as maybe support Shaco or perhaps Top lane Shaco if you intend on building items that benefit from it otherwise I don't pick this one.
Relentless Hunter- This rune here is probably my most picked and I recommend taking this rune in most cases when playing AD Shaco as it allows you to get onto targets while invisible easier as well as escape once you get out of combat.
Ultimate Hunter- Pretty much always take this rune for AP Shaco as Hallucinate is just too good with AP Shaco so having it up as often as possible is ideal.

Before we get into the rift we need to talk about the many ways to use Shacos abilities.

Shacos passive

Let's talk about Shaco's most Iconic ability. is an amazing ability and the biggest cause to people flaming Shaco players for his 'broken' kit and to be fair, this ability is very very strong, however it is also an int magnet when used incorrectly. So I will teach you the ways to properly use this ability to achieve infuriating results surely to leave your opponents ffing at 15.
This ability is also the reason you NEVER need to take and instead should opt for more utility in options such as or .You can use this ability as a gap closer, an escape or even just to reposition for suprise attacks. below are some good examples of walls you can jump to get crazy distance as well as some tricky movement for insane escapes.

is Shacos ultimate and one of the most annoying abilities in the game for enemies. For both AD and AP builds your clone is an incredible tool that should not be wasted. During your ult cast you are briefly untargettable as well as semi invulnerable meaning you can dodge things like Karthus when timed right. On top of that your clone is an insane nuisance to enemies whether they figure out the real you or not. As AP they are forced to either run away or tank the explosion, taking massive damage and a fear, and as AD Shaco your clone still does massive damage with its autos meaning they dan't just ignore it.

Clear

Shaco is lucky enough to have both a very powerful clear as well as many options to clear.Shaco has the ability to clear without leash as well as start any camp with decent success.Meaning that being invaded early won't completely ruin your start as you can just leave and start anywhere else. With a correct leash however Shaco is capable of one of the fastest Lvl.3s in the game, allowing him to get lvl.3 and gank bot while they are still lvl.1. You could also rush a one side clear and go for a co-ordinated invade with your laners and set the enemy jungler very behind.

Ganks

Shaco is by far one of the strongest and most unpredictable gankers in the game. Because of this there are a lot of different wall hops and paths to learn to maximise your ganking potential. Shacos is also an amazing tool at cutting off enemies potential flash escapes or locking them down for the kill.

Shaco has magnificent objective control with and .
When playing AP Shaco you will want to strategically place your 's around Drag or Baron before the contest begins to help ensure your teams success.You also have the ability to solo any objective at most points of the game depending on your build, so with good map awareness can take free drags etc.. when the enemy slips up.

Priorities

In this section we will cover where your priorities should be in the early to mid game to avoid a late game fall off.

Late game

So you got a bunch of successful ganks off int he early game and got a little fed? but now what? Your team is flaming you to carry with all that gold but when you jump on the adc Leona just CCs you for 15 minutes. Don't worry, here we will discuss how to avoid letting that happen and what to do when you're in these positions.
