Threats & Synergies
Akali has huge amount of harass. If you take full combo from Akali then you will not be able to trade. You will have to dodge her harass to be able to trade back. If you dodge her Five-Point Strike(Q), you should be able to trade. Another Good news is that your Ground Slam will be able to go through her Twilight Shroud(W). Your Seimsic Shard chase out her Dash AKA Shuriken Flip(E) and her Ultimate AKA Perfect Execution(R). Nonetheless difficult match-up. (Recommended core items: Bami's Cinder, Abyssal Mask) (Unstoppable Force Stops Perfect Execution ) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Akali) (Outscaling Edge: Even)
Dodge his Bandage Toss(Q) and you will easily be able to trade. Take Flash or Ghost along with Ignite. Chase him down and you should be good. (Recommended core Items: Abyssal Mask) In team fight use your Primal Howl and Seimsic Shard or Unstoppable Force to peel Amumu off prevent your ADC or Mid laner from getting crowd controlled by him. Sustained 1v1 Trades: Even) (Outscaling Edge: Even)
This match-up will mostly skilled base if you can dodge the Darkin Blade(Q), Infernal Chains(W). As most of his damage if not all comes from his Q. (Recommended core Items: Thornmail, Plated Steelcaps) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Aatrox in Early Game, Malphite in Late Game) (Outscaling Edge: Malphite)
Use Minions to block her Charm(E). Her Orb of Deception(Q), Charm(E), and Spirit Rush(R) is dodge-able. Focus on dodging her skillshots and do use Seismic Shard or Unstoppable Force on Ahri to slow down her Spirit Rush(R). (Recommended core Items: Abyssal Mask, Force of Nature) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Ahri)(Outscaling Edge: Even)
Her damage is significant early as you can't run down Annie. Do consider taking a full trade against her as her auto-attack harass is not as potent as other champions. (Recommended Items: Abyssal Mask) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Even)(Outscaling Edge: Malphite)
Flash is mandatory if you want to win against Anivia or gap close due to her Crystallize Wall(W). Unstoppable Force will cancel her channeling on her Glacial Storm(R). (Recommended core items: Abyssal Mask) (Unstoppable Force cancels her channel on her Glacial Storm) (Outscaling Edge: Even) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Anivia with Glacial Storm)
Aurelion Sol is rare match-up that you do not see often. This game will be dependent if you can dodge his Center of the Universe(Passive) as it is a rotational ball that damages you. Aurelion Sol can either expand or constrict his passive. Also you need to dodge his Celestial Expansion(E) which is his stun. Make sure you attack him if he has active flight which is his Comet of Legend(R) which interrupts him. (Recommended Items: Abyssal Mask) (Unstoppable Force Stops Comet of Legend) (Unstoppable Force deactivates Comet of Legend) (Outscaling Edge: Malphite) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Even)
Do not dive him under his Shurima's Legacy(Turret). Conquering Sands(Q) allows his soldier to dash dodge it and he will be tradeable. Recommended to fight him without his soldiers. (Recommended Items: Abyssal Mask) (Unstoppable Force stops his Shifting Sands) (Save Unstoppable Force until after he casts his Emperor Divide) (Outscaling Edge: Even) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Azir Early, Even Late Game)
Try to fight her without Precision Protocol(Q) as she will get significant extra damage. Dodge her Tactical Sweep(W) which is frontal cone AOE and trading should be bearable. Her Hookshot/WallDive(E) can be stop midcast via Unstoppable Force can also negate her (E). (Recommended Items: Plated Steelcaps, Thornmail) (Outscaling Edge: Even) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Even)
3 of her skills are skillshot based. Will be up to you if this will be easy or hard match-up. Noxious Blast(Q) which is a poison blast, must be dodged to be able to trade. Miasma which is 5 second AOE that should be avoided as it can apply slow + grounding. Petrifying Gaze(R) can be avoided if you face away from Cassiopeia. (Recommended Items: Abyssal Mask, Force of Nature) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Cassiopeia) (Outscaling Edge: Even)
This can be either a easy or hard-match up if you cannot dodge his skillshot. Juke out his Rupture(Q) and Feral Scream(W). Avoid fighting Cho'gath if you are low health as his Feast(R) can execute you. (Recommended Items: Abyssal Mask) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Even or Cho'gath if he lands everything) (Outscaling Edge: Even)
One of the harder match-up. You will definitely need to mirror his Summoner's Spell(Flash/Ghost). Decimate(Q) needs to be dodged or juked out, but if you can't go to his handle of his Axe as it does not apply Hemmorhage nor heal him. Fight him after he casts his Crippling Strike(W) and duration goes away. Save your Seismic Shard for his Apprehend(E), let him use his (E) first then Primal Howl. Avoid fighting him with 5 stacks of Hemorrhage. (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Darius Early, Malphite Late) (Recommended Items: Sunfire Cape, Deadman's Plate) (Outscaling Edge: Malphite)
Fight him without his buff Blunt Force Trauma(E) as this is where majority of his damage come from. Kite his Heart Zapper(W) as Mundo gains Magic Damage/Heals, but he can be tradeable if he is low. Take Ignite or Morello's or Morello for his Maximum Dosage(R) to reduce his ultimate.(Recommended Items: None) (Sustained Trades: Even) (Outscaling Edge: Even)
A rare pick, but should be noted. Timewinder(Q) should be dodged, Parallel Convergence(W) aka his Shield/AOE Stun should be dodged and pretty much avoided as this is the only thing that will prevent Malphite from out-trading. Avoid staying near his image from taking too much damage. Save Unstoppable Force to prevent him from escaping. (Recommended Items: Abyssal Mask) (Outscaling Edge: Malphite) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Even)
Very straight-forward match-up. Avoid trading until you know it is the real Fiddlesticks. Unstoppable his Crowstorm(R) channeling away from your teammates. Unstoppable Force his Bountiful Harvest(W) aka Drain as most his damage is at the end. Not the best match-up because Fiddle can build Banshee's to counter your whole kit. (Recommended Items: Abyssal Mask) (Outscaling Edge: Even) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Even)
Very moderate lane as she has true damage as Riposte(W) negates your skills. Must bait it out with Ground Slam. It will have to be a complete hit and run match-up. You will have try to make her work for that vital point(Passive) for the trades. (Recommended items: Thornmails, Plated Steelcaps) (Riposte overrides all Malphite offensive skills) (Riposte blocks Ignite) (1v1 Sustained Trades: Even) (Outscaling Edge: Even)
Fight him without his Powder Keg as he can dish tremendous amount of damage. Try to Seismic Shard him out of Powder Keg(E) range then auto-attack the Powder Keg. (Recommended Items: Deadman's Plate) (1v1 Sustained Trades: Gangplank, Even without Powder Kegs) (Outscaling Edge: Malphite)
Use your Seismic Shard after his Decisive Strike(Q). Avoid his Judgement(E) and trade him. Do not trade with him if you're low as Demacian Justice is a execute. (Recommended Items: Deadman's Plate) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Even) (Outscaling Edge: Even)

Trade with Hecarim under your Ground Slam and Seismic Shard. Try to avoid trading with Hecarim with 2 stacks of Rampage(Q). Trade with Hecarim without his Spirit of the Dread which is his sustained DPS buff cooldown interval is 22-18 seconds. Use Seismic Shard for reducing his Devastating Charge(E) and slowing his casting of Onslaught of Shadows(R). (Recommended Items: Deadman's Plate, Plated Steelcaps) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Hecarim) (Outscaling Edge: Malphite)
Consider roaming across the map. Try to kill Heimerdinger if you chose to lane against him. Dodging his skillshots will determine if you can trade or not. (Recommended Items: Abyssal Mask, Mercury's Treads) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Heimerdinger) (Outscaling Edge: Malphite)
Destroy her Tentacle around her to prevent additional damage or awkward pathing. Dodge her tentacle as the tentacle attack pathing is pretty linear. Her Test of Spirit(E) needs to be dodge to be able to trade against her, but you cannot dodge feel to run out of the tether. (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Illaoi, Without Tether then Even) (Recommended Items: Thornmail, Plated Steelcaps) (Outscaling Edge: Even)
Predict her Flawless Duet(E) and Vanguard's Edge(R). Doing so will make this a easy trade and will prevent her from refreshing her Bladesurge(Q) AKA Dash. (Recommended Items: Deadman's Plate, Plated Steelcaps or Sorcerer's Shoes) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Even) (Outscaling Edge: Malphite)
I would say it would be a "Minor" match-up if Jax doesn't build Blade of the Ruined King. For Jax you will have to constantly kite him on a constant basis. Consider building Deadman's Plate to help out with the kiting. Avoid his Counter-Strike(E) and you should be able to trade easily. Avoid doing sustained trade against Jax especially if he has Grandmaster's Might(R). Priortize DPS item against Jax and build tank items afterward. (Recommended Items: NInja's Tabis or Sorcerer's Shoes ,Deadman's Plate, Thornmail) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Even, Jax if he has Blade of the Ruined King) (Outscaling Edge: Even) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Even)

Short trade against Mercury Cannon Stance and long trade against Hammer Stance. (Recommended Items: Plated Steelcaps, Thornmail, Deadman's Plate) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Even, Jayce's Mercury Cannon Stance) (Outscaling Edge: Malphite)
Will have to make short trades against Kalista especially if she builds Blade of the Ruined King. This match-up will have to be reliant on your Seismic Shard and Ground Slam usage. Kalista will be constantly dashing if she auto-attacks due to Martial Pose(Passive). Avoid letting her stack her Pierce(Q) debuff by making short trades. (Recommended Items: Deadman's Plate, Plated Steelcaps) (Sustained 1v1 Trades: Kalista) (Outscaling Edge: Malphite)
You will have to get out of her Focused Resolved(W) aka tether to prevent snaring. Dodge her Inner Flame(Q) and you should be able to make even trades. This ability can help you clear waves or jungle camps due to the acting like a Tiamat.
It is recommend maxing this ability second or last, as you won’t have much armor to benefit from it early game until late game in the match.
Ground Slam Malphite slams the ground dealing 60 / 95 / 130 / 165 / 200 (+40% of his Total Armor) (+60% of ability power) magic damage to surrounding enemies, reducing their attack speed by 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50 % for 3 seconds.
Use this Ground Slam immediately after you engage with your Unstoppable Force to maximize your disruption before your enemies starts unclumping.
Try to use this ability within range of the enemy Marksman to reduce their attack speed and damage output in the teamfight.
You can easily push a wave undesirably with the large area of effect radius of this ability. Be careful to not spam this during the laning phase or you will push your lane too far and gank range or possibly your death.
Unstoppable Force Malphite charges towards the target area, dealing 200 / 300 / 400 (+80% of ability power) magic damage, knocking enemies into the air and stunning for 1.5 seconds in 325 area around impact. Malphite cannot be interrupted during this charge.
In addition to engage, you can also use [[Unstoppable Force] to escape if you're isolated from team mates.
If you are engaged upon, you can use this ability to protect or peel your Marksman or Carry Laners possibly Carry Jungler.
This ability is [Unstoppable]; he cannot be targeted by crowd control during his dash.
Malphite is best known for his Unstoppable Force. Malphite will dash forward a significant distance, bypassing all enemies and knocking up all foes when he lands. If you can ambush your enemies as a tight group or force them to engage in a confined space, such as in the jungle or Baron Nashor Drake pit, your ultimate can be devastating! In addition to Malphite’s amazing ult, his kit allows him to engage well 1:1 against almost any AD champion as two of his abilities scale with his armor.
At low levels, mana will be a contingency. All of your abilities have heavy mana costs usually counteracted with Manaflow Band. If you are facing a ranged champion, use your Q to secure more minions rather than poke. If your lane opponent is trying to poke you down, back off, farm with your Seismic Shard Ground Slam, and let your Granite Shield recharge.
Try to set up a gank with your jungler when you hit level 6. Don’t use your Unstoppable Force unless you can secure a kill.
As your game progresses priortize health/armor items to maximize your tank potential or magic resist if they are AP heavy and to synergize with your abilities that scale off of your tank attribute champion. You can use the Area of Effect of your Brutal Strikes and Ground Slam abilities to push the lane quickly so that you can roam and gank another lane.
You will be responsible for initiating fights and disrupting the enemy ADC with the attack speed reduction of your Ground Slam. Do not engage too quickly. If you can wait, try to hold out for at least 2 of your enemies grouping up, but beware champions with spell shields or Banshee’s Veil counteracted with Seismic Shard. Once you are in the attention of the enemy team, try to cause as much disruption as much as possible with your offensive abilities and slow in hopes of getting their focus shifted towards you.
Unstoppable Force best initiation tool.
Granite Shield gives you a lot of sustain versus poke champions and provides a great bonus to armor, which will boost your damage and sustain early in fights.
Area of Effect damage from Ground Slam can significantly hinder ADCs by slowing their attack speed.
Excellent wave clear from Brutal Strikes Area of Effect damage.
If you miss your ultimate, you will be practically running it down.
Difficult to lane against sustain AP champions, such as Sylas Rumble Singed Vladimir
Into Ranged or Unfavorable matchups, Arcane Comet is your go to. Sorcery let’s you take Manaflow Band with helps with your mana sustain, but the slow from Seismic Shard max also makes your Arcane Comet stack damage!
Otherwise, versus melee match ups. It is recommended to get Grasp of the Undying. It helps build Health, since most of the time you’re gonna be hard stacking armor or magic resistance. It also helps with your trades and helps you with some sustain along with Granite Shield.
Now with Flash. You will have to Flash then Unstoppable Force if enemy are little further away, but make sure teammates can follow up. Auto then use Ground Slam. Follow up with Brutal Strikes and AA. Finish with Seismic Shard since it's your longest range spell to again prevent escapes.

Malphite is a powerful champion that fulfills the role of offensive tank and initiator. Malphite cannot force anyone to attack him, but he is one of the best champions in the game at forcing an engagement and taking multiple people in and out of the fight. Building him offensively/defensively enables you to spread havoc all over the rift.
