- Gets destroyed by Gap-closer champs.
- Long cooldown on Remove Scurvy.

Tankplank
Pros
- Tanky but still does damage.
- Strong poke.
- Remove Scurvy removes cc.
- Counters many top-laners.

Cons
- Not as much damage as other builds.
- Very single target based.

Critplank
Pros
- TONS of damage.
- Potential to 1-shot someone.
- Huge poke.
- Amazing late game.
- Remove Scurvy removes CC, so he can chase.

Cons
- Squishy.
- No natural escape.
- Bad if he doesn't get fed.

ApPLank

Pros
- That ORANGE.
- Lots of damage.
- TONS of healing.
- strong late game.
- Cannon Barrage will actually do damage.

- Super squishy if the orange isn't up.
- terrible early game.
- You will get called a noob a lot.

Gankplank

Pros
- Decent ganks with red buff.
- Tanky.
- Removes CC.
- Constant slow.

These skill sequences were chosen specifically for the builds. For example on Mageplank I didn't get his Raise Morale until level 13 because he needs to level his Parrrley and Remove Scurvy evenly and they are much more important abilities to mage plank. Some people may argue that the move speed on his Raise Morale is too good to pass up early but I think that it is more important to make both the Parrrley and Remove Scurvy ASAP.

Summoner Spells

For Tankplank go Teleport and Flash, for map insane pressure and help in the laning phase.

For Critplank take Exhaust, or Ignite, and Flash, so you can chase your opponent(s) and finish them.

For Mageplank go Smite and Flash, for Runeglaive.

For Gankplank take Smite, and Flash, Flash and smite are essential on most junglers. DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING OTHER THAN SMITE ON JUNGLERS!

Farming

Farming with gangplank is very easy and doesn't take much skill. Just wait for the minions to get to low health then use your Parrrley to finish them off. DO NOT ONLY USE YOUR Parrrley TO CS THOUGH AS THIS WILL CAUSE YOU TO LOSE MANA VERY QUICKLY. The reason you last hit with Parrrley is that it increases the gold you obtain by killing those minions, if you find you are losing too much mana then just run up and basic attack it, then you can use Parrrley to poke the enemy player.

When to use your ult

Gangplanks ult can be pretty hard to know when to use. IMPORTANT: Use your ult on the actual location NOT the location on the minimap. To do this go to unlocked mode and mouse over to your target, then just cast it from there and hope to get lucky. TIP: always use in team fights and when you are targeting it at a single person make sure to aim in the center of them, that way it is not easy for them to get away and you should be able to get a few ticks off, also don't be afraid to spam it, most Gangplanks try to conserve their ults as much as possible but it can get you so many more assists/kills/and it can save towers. DON'T be afraid to use it to kill minions that are about to destroy your tower.

New AP GP SMITE

With the new item Runeglaive Gangplank's Q will now do magic damage! The reason we go an ap hybrid build is to get the highest damage from gangplank's q Parrrley while also healing a lot more from Remove Scurvy and finally
gangplank's r Cannon Barrage will do a lot of damage now too. The reason for getting both luden's echo AND statikk shiv is because Parrrley will apply both. Also his Q will now crit AND do magic damage, so you will now have a magic damage ability that can CRIT and apply luden's echo as well as statikk shiv!

Gangplank in team fights.

For team fights different GP builds will have different roles in a team fight.

Tank: You are the tank, the initiator, people would depend on you to do your job, to initiate, use Cannon Barrage for the aoe slow and run in then focus the ADC/APC/Most fed person. Also if possible try to peel for your carries by slowing and blocking abilities from enemies.

Critplank: You are going to be a lot squisher than tankplank You job in team fights is to pick off the squishies 1-by-1 using your Parrrley. Remember to ult whenever you think it's a good time to.

ApPlank: As Ap Gangplank your ult will do a ton of damage, Make sure to use Cannon Barrage on all of the them pick off the squishies just like critplank, here's a tip, wait to use your Remove Scurvy until you get cc'd or get really low to bait them, because as ap Gp it will heal a lot.

Jungle: Your job is the same and tankplank see above.^^^^^^

Summary

Gangplank is a really fun champion that I think you should try out. He may not be the best right now in teamfights or overall usefullness but he is a very fun champion to play and can be played in solo Q.
