Introduction
I would also like to suggest a tool to use for those of you that continuously forget your builds for diff champions or have to write them down. http://enigmablade.net/lol-item-changer/download.html This tool allows you to save your builds in the program and name them. If you have multiple builds for a champion, just name them what you want to, and then just save with the one you want in-game open for the champion. This tool will change the Recommended Items on your champion (must save per game mode). THIS TOOL IS LEGALFOR TOURNAMENT PLAY!
Please keep in mind that this is currently under construction.
Pros
Cons
-
Very Tanky due to passive on ult
Mix of Physical Damage and Magic Damage
Increased mobility with her W skill
Good ganks
No Mana/Ult cooldown, just hit til its recharged.
Ult turns you into a dragon! Nuff said.
Cons
-
Vulnerable to CC
Higher learning curve
Hard to master
No really cool skins (Boneclaw is decent)
Not the best joke/taunt
For my runes, I generally try to build more defensive capabilities with Shyvana, but when I jungle, I try to use some damage as well. This allows for faster clear times, but also great survivability. It's a lot of fun to watch the enemy team complain about how tanky I am while I wreck all of them.
For Marks, I go with either flat damage marks or armor pen marks, depending on how many tanky champs the enemy has.
On my Seals, I run flat armour for the extra defense until I reach Level 6, which grants passive armour increase.
For my Glyphs, I usually use my flat Magic Resist glyphs, but MR/level glyphs give more MR than them after about level 10, so these are a viable alternative.
My Quints are pretty simple, Flat AD Quints add that little extra punch to push through the jungle faster.
This is pretty straight forward as most people playing Shyvana know what skills to train first. But, for those who don't, here it is and here's what each ability does.
Fury of the Dragonborn (Passive): Shyvana's autoattacks enhance her abilities.
Twin Bite (Active): Shyvana's next autoattack will strike twice in one swift movement. The second attack will deal physical damage equal to a percentage of her total attack damage. Both attacks will trigger on-hit effects and Fury of the Dragonborn effects.
Dragon form: Twin Bite will damage all units in front of Shyvana when she uses her next autottack instead of just her target. Each unit hit will be dealt on-hit effects and grant fury twice.
Fury of the Dragonborn: Each auto attack reduces the cooldown by 0.5 seconds. This doesn't work on structures.
Cooldown: 10 / 9 / 8 / 7 / 6 seconds
Second Strike Physical Damage: 80 / 85 / 90 / 95 / 100 % of attack damage
Burnout (Active): During the next 3 seconds, Shyvana will deal magic damage each second to nearby enemies and her movement speed will be greatly increased. Shyvana's movement speed bonus itself will be reduced multiplicatively by 15% for every second that passes.
Dragon form: Shyvana now scorches the earth where she walks, leaving a trail of fire for 5 seconds that will continually deal magic damage to enemies that pass over it.
* Cooldown: 12 seconds
* Diameter of AoE: 325
Fury of the Dragonborn: Each auto attack extends the duration of Burnout by 1 second to a maximum of 4 extra seconds. This works on structures.
Magic Damage per Second: 25 / 40 / 55 / 70 / 85 (+0.2 per bonus attack damage)
Maximum Magic Damage: 175 / 280 / 385 / 490 / 595 (+1.4 per bonus attack damage)
Initial Movement Speed Bonus: 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50 %
Flame Breath (Active): Shyvana unleashes a fireball forward in a line that affects the first enemy it hits, dealing magic damage to it and reducing its armor by 15% for 4 seconds.
Dragon form: Flame Breath engulfs all units in a cone in front of Shyvana.
* Range: 925
Fury of the Dragonborn: Each autoattack that hits debuffed targets will deal 15% of the ability's damage as additional magic damage.
Cooldown: 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 / 8 seconds
Magic Damage: 80 / 125 / 170 / 215 / 260 (+0.6 per ability power)
Additional On-hit Magic Damage: 12 / 18.75 / 25.5 / 32.25 / 39 (+0.09 per ability power)
Dragon's Descent (Passive): Shyvana reinforces her scales, increasing her armor and magic resistance. These defensive bonuses are doubled while in dragon form.
(Active): Shyvana transforms into a dragon and dashes to a target location. Enemies along her path take magic damage and are pushed toward her target location.
* Range: 1000
This ability has no cooldown but requires 100 fury to activate. Shyvana generates 1 fury every 1.5 seconds while in human form. While in dragon form, she will lose 6 fury every second. Once the fury bar is empty she will return to her normal state.
Fury of the Dragonborn: Each of her autottacks will generate 2 fury. This will allow for Shyvana to prolong the duration of dragon form by attacking. This ability works on structures.
Passive Armor & Magic Resistance: 10 / 15 / 20
Magic Damage: 200 / 300 / 400 (+0.7 per ability power)

My Items were built with tankiness in mind to fulfill that Tanky DPS role that Shyvana most naturally fits into. I build the Phantom Dancer in order to add some movement speed as well as attack speed, to keep enemies slowed constantly (when combined with Frozen Mallet) so my team can get to them, or I can get them. The items that I believe HAVE to be in your build are the Frozen Mallet and Guardian Angel. The rest can be built based on what you need. You can replace items such as Phantom Dancer with Lifesteal/Spell Vamp (works well with your Burnout skill). Warmog's is always a viable option with just about any tanky champion. Most of her build is build as needed.
This is my usual jungle route, excluding any counter jungling I decide to do. I start at the Blue Buff (wierd but I enjoy the CDR and instant level) I continue along the route until I clear it, then make an important decision, Counter Jungle or wait for respawns. I don't gank after my 1st run through, as i enjoy having my ult to gank. This is a personal preference but you have the mobility to gank at level 4, even more so with Ghost. After your 1st run, you won't need health pots while jungling, you can easily handle them all.
At a later date (when I get it working) I will add a video of me jungling Shyvana, 8/0/0 with enemy surrender.
For those of you who have no interest in Jungling, I have decided to add a laning portion. I like to use Shyvana in the top lane as a solo. She CAN be used as a support for bottom lane, but I generally don't do this because she deals too much damage to properly feed your AD Carry. You'll too constantly take his minion kills and will get quite a few kills on champs, making her a poor support.
When I solotop with her, I build pretty tanky with some extra damage packed in.

In Team Fights, you need to fill your role as the Tanky DPS. Gank whatever lane/area it may be and open with your R followed by W/E/Q. This allows huge damage, and if you have a Rylai's Crystal Scepter and Frozen Mallet, the enemy team is easy pickings for your carries. You also provide a good defense for your carries, because of your tanking ability in combination with damage dealing. She can also carry your team against a fed enemy team for the win. If you ever get to that situation, DON'T SURRENDER! She really can carry your team so easily.
Overall, just remember to fill your role as a tanky dps and all should go well, assuming your top/bot lanes didn't feed the enemy team too hard, in which case you need to build heavy DPS and carry your stupid team across the map and wreck the enemy (was forced to do this 1st game using Shyvana).
Thank you sooo much to jhoijhoi for her guide on how to make a guide. Couldn't have done it without you! And thank you for the Line Dividers! If anyone else wants to try making a guide, go to jhoijhoi's guide to see how to do everything.
