hi, my name is Tang and wukong is my favourite champ in s9 and i like to share some tips about WuKong . During season 9, wukong is nerved so much, and this makes him not a really good choice for early aggressive jungle. Though you can just focus on farming and only take ganks when possible, as wukong is great at scaling. Besides playing on mid and top is also a good choice, as u can get lane sustains through potions or biscuits.

early, mid and late

wukong lack of sustain in jungle during early game, which makes him vulnerable in the low in health and therefore vulnerable in the jungle throughout the early game.
So, playing over aggressively during early game is definitely not recommended. For wukong jungle, only gank when you think you are able to survive that gank and bring advantage to u and ur laner. If not, just farm, secure kills and carry the team later on.
During mid game, with 1 or 2 items, you are simply strong enough to 1v1 everyone in the game. (unless the enemies are very ahead or you are too behind)Remember to get objectives and try to get picks on the enemy squishies. For example, the enemy mid laners, ad carry or support in order to continue your dominance.

During late game, this is when you have some serious items and does serious damage. Join team fights frequently, starting the fight by one-shotting the squishies with your combo W>E>Q>R and make a five man knock up with your ultimate if you can. If your team is winning team fights, try to take baron or bait the enemy team to fight baron.

preimary runes

Electrocute- works well with your combos and
is really important in one-shotting

Sudden Impact- can be activated with your E and W,
which grants you
lethality and magic penetration.

Eyeball Collection- gain ad for champion and
wards takedown.

Relentless Hunter- gain movement speed when out
of combat

Precision- improves attacks and sustained damage

Conqueror- grants true damage and life steal after stacking up 5 times

Legend: Alacrity- grants attack speeds and works well with conqueror, which help you to smack tanks with true damage.

Coup de Grace- helps you to finish off low health enemy champions easier

starting items (for jungle/top lane)

Hunter's Talisman- as Wukong has bad sustain in jungle during early game, I personally recommend Hunter's Talisman if you can't kite the jungle monster efficiently.
Refillable Potion- provides sustain and it resets every time you base.

Warding Totem- provides vision

Oracle Lens- help you to spot wards put by the enemy when you gank. This saves you a lot of time rather then waiting in the bush not knowing that the enemy knew you are there.

*I have seen some pro-players putting a ward down the enemy jungle, then base and purchase oracle lens.

core items (top lane and jungle)

-provides lethality bunch of damage
which is really useful for a
champion who likes to burst someone
down like Wukong. It also helps you
to spot wards and the wards spotted
by dusk blade can be destroy with
one hit.

-same as Duskblade of Draktharr,
it provides slightly less lethality
and damage, but it provides
movement speed when activated and
also movement speed when out of
combat. Recommend for buying it
after Duskblade of Draktharr if
u think u are fed enough.

-is optional for Wukong. But
overall, it is a really good item to
have as it provides health, damage,
cooldown reduction and most importantly,
it's passive helps to shred armor.

-similar to the black
, it helps to shred armor
really effectively and provides decent
amount of damage. If the enemy team have
health based champs like Dr. Mundo and
Cho'Gath, Mortal Reminder is
recommended due to it's passive.

defensive items (top lane and jungle)

- provides health, lethality, and when
activates, provides a shell which can
block enemy's abilities.

-If you are really fed and is focused on by
the enemies, take guardian-angel as it
provides armor, attack damage and most
importantly, a second life!!!!

- recommended when the enemy team have a
fed crit based champion.

577.8 (+85 per level)

Attack Damage:
68 (+4 per level)

Stone Skin- Increases Wukong's Armor and Magic Resist for each nearby enemy champion. this could be the most useless passive in the whole league....

Crushing Blow- Wukong's next attack deals additional physical damage, gains range, and reduces the enemy's Armor for a short duration.

Wukong's next attack gains 125 range, deals 10/40/70/100/130 (+110% Attack Damage) bonus physical damage and reduces the enemy's Armor by 10/15/20/25/30% for 3 seconds. this ability can due a huge amount damage with items as it scales with ad, can be use as finishes.

Decoy- Wukong becomes Invisible for a short duration, leaving behind a decoy that will deal Magic Damage to enemies near it when Wukong's stealth expires.

Wukong becomes Invisible for 1.5 seconds, leaving behind a decoy that will deal 70/115/160/205/250 (+60% Ability Power) Magic Damage to enemies near it after 1.5 seconds.
Stealth - Invisible: Wukong can only be revealed by nearby enemy Turrets or True Sight. This can be considered to be wukong's only escape. Can be use in short trades like E>AA>Q>W and back off.

Nimbus Strike- Wukong dashes to target enemy and sends out images to attack up to 2 additional enemies near his target, dealing physical damage to each enemy struck.

Wukong dashes to target enemy and sends out images to attack up to 2 additional enemies nearby. Each enemy struck takes 65/100/135/170/205 (+80% bonus Attack Damage) physical damage. Wukong then gains 30/35/40/45/50% Attack Speed for 4 seconds. Wukong only ability to engage, pretty decent during LvL1s.

Cyclone- Wukong's staff grows outward and he spins it around, dealing damage and knocking up enemies. Wukong gains Movement Speed over the duration of the spell.

Wukong's staff grows outward and he spins it around for 4 seconds, dealing {{ damagepersecondtotal }} physical damage per second to nearby enemies, knocking them up for {{ knockupduration }} second the first time they get hit.At the start, Wukong gains {{ movespeedbonus*100 }}% Movement Speed, and he gains an additional {{ movespeedpersecond*100 }}% per second over the duration. Best and one of the most well known ultimate in league. Can be use as a disengage or to chase down enemies.

boots option

- provides armor and is mostly taken by AD

- provides magic resist, and is
recommended when there are high cc
champions or magic damage champions.

- give you insane out of combat movement
speed. Helps to roam more and walk
faster back to lane when you don't
have teleport. Usually, it is sold
during late game for other boots

abilities usage

wukong has a great advantage with his W Decoy, he can sneak on enemies during ganks which makes it unpredictable when probably used.
Wukong ability combo and kit is actually really simple. When ganks, if the lane is pushed towards your laners, don't use Decoy first. Just E Nimbus Strike into the enemy then only use W Decoy to make the enemy laner waste his abilities on it.

Team Work

if u r building assassin mode, don't ever jump into team fights instantly, as the result is just a worthless death. Your role in the team fight is to go in and clean off the remaining enemies. You can also pick up the squishies, like the adc, midlaner or sup from behind or from beside. Just remember, don't jump into 5v5 team fights instantly unless u are building bruiser mode.

Creeping / Jungling

go red first if ur top/mid/bot laners have lots of cc and you wanna have a lvl 2 gank. then, with the scuttle crab spawning at 3.15,you will have enough time to clear your blue side jungle, then recall or look for a gank. Try to avoid invade and ganks early as Wukong has low clear speed and will almost below half hp after clearing camps. Only invade the enemy jungle if you found the enemy jungler on the other side of the map making sure the enemy top/mid/bot laners aren't missing, as they may be protecting the camps for their junglers.
While starting red, you will certainly lost a certain amount of health after red buff, unless your laner tank it for u etc. A trick is that, if you have hunter talisman as starting item, you can leave a decoy in the raptors camp then walk away. The unique passive of the item, which sets aflame the monsters, will help you regenerate some health.

wukong top and mid

top Wukongis pretty popular this days as he deal some decent damage throughout the early, mid and especially late game. he is a champ that you can blindpick during ranks.

For short trades, you can just auto attack, Q Crushing Blow, E Nimbus Strikethen W Decoy to disengage if you can't fight him.

After you had pushed the enemy wave in, taken the top turret or yours is taken, roam a lot and join team fights as much as you can. (be aware of your cs too)Even when you are behind, perfect ganks on mid or bot can get you back in the game.

There was one time that I was solo kill twice by the enemy Darius and i'm behind in levels and cs. So, I decided to join my team, as a fight is going on. I manage to get a double kill with lots of shutdown bounty which gets me back into the game.
Also, if you see the enemy jungler and laner ganking your other laners, try to gank the lane on the other side of the map where the enemy jungler and laner is not on (you can also follow on and try to interrupt the gank). If u succeed that gank it will make the gold income even, even if the enemy succeeds in the gank they are having. Besides, you can also try to take objectives and enemy jungler camps in order to put more pressure.

For conclusion, remember to push the wave into the enemy before roaming, or only roam when you destroy top lane or in other occasion, you got destroy and can't win fights against the enemy top lane.

farming for wukong top/mid

for farming, wukong had a pretty decent wave clear. If u wanna push a lane without an enemy, E into the caster minions, then auto attack then them each 1 or 2 times, then W Decoy, then finish off the melee minions.
When versing a tank, don't fight him if you think you cant win trades. Instead, farm passively and wait for jungle help, as you will be more useful is teamfights compare to tanks. On the other way, if u are versing a squishy that you can solokill him, keep engaging on him and try to avoid minion aggros by going into the bush. If the enemy is low on health and staying behind, freeze the wave by only last hitting the minions, walk around in front of the minion wave and engage on the enemy if he tries to take cs.
For Wukong mid, you will be mostly versing range mages, which is actually countered by Wukong. Just E into them when they are walking to close, then quickly do a auto attack->Q combo, then W and walk behind them in order to dodge skills. After that, auto attack them with E's passive until you finish them with a ignite.

which skills to upgrade first for wukong

in my opinion, i personally recommend to maximise E Nimbus Strike first for wukong, as it provides cooldowns, decent AoE damage and bonus attack speed. Then maximise Q or W second based on your needs. If u want a lower cooldown Decoy, then maximise W first, if u want more damage in one shotting enemies, Q Crushing Blow should be a choice to maximise second.

Team Work

during teamfights, you job is mostly starting the fight by one-shoting (W>E>Q>R)the enemy squishies then fled. if you have guardian angel or u are tank enough, make sure your ult hits all the enemy for a five man knock-out then flash-out if u think u cant survive that, after that, your team will clean off the remaining. Besides, you can also wait for your team to start the fight, then up with a E>Q>R combo on the enemy who does the most damage and try to shut him down.
