Introduction: A Community Guide

Hello and welcome to our "How to play/ How not to play" Yasuo Guide. This guide's purpose is for me to show you some mistakes I have made, their outcomes, and my triumphs as Yasuo. As a new Yasuo player myself I also would like to learn from your experiences, and your feedback is GREATLY APPRECIATED! With feedback, player game analyses, and your support... I hope that we can create a guide to help every new player get off his/her feet and help them succeed in every aspect of their mechanics. So join me. Comment bellow with information on Yasuo, guide links, your own game play footage, and more to assist this guide to "Victory!."

(Guide is currently under construction, feel free to comment on suggestions for this guide)

Also comment your guides bellow so I can link them in the "Honorary Guide Section." Soon to come!

Pros / Cons

Pros

+ Great Burst Damage
+ Highly Mobile in Teamfights
+ Wind Wall Can Block Most Projectiles
+ Very Fun to Play
Yasuo is an incredibly fun, mobile, and powerful champion. With the proper items he can burst down any single target champion. His Sweeping Blade allows you to dodge anything that comes your way. His Wind Wall can keep you safe from projectiles, and Last Breath can knock up the whole team! With this amount of versatility you will become the new Unstoppable Force.

Cons

+ Very Squishy (Depending on items)
+ Shut Down to Crowd Control
+ Weak Laning Phase
+ VERY High Skill Cap (But amazing when mastered)
Like every champion Yasuo has his strength's and his weaknesses. He's squishy allowing for timing to be incredibly important. Crowd Control will destroy him unless he dodges it. His weak laning phase (depending on the player) will make it hard for you to farm effectively. Though, while he has a great combo kit... his Last Breath must need someone to be knocked up in order for it to be available for use.

Champion Abilities

This passive is one of the most powerful passives in the game. Not only does it give yasuo 50% critical strike chance, but it also allows him to take long range poke as a free Banshee's Veil. Only attack a champion with this shield available during your early underpowered phase to keep from taking too much damage in a duel. During your mid and late game phases the shield doesn't become as important, but initiating a fight with it is very helpful to your survivability.

This is yasuo's bread and butter skill. It has a low cooldown and provides on-hit effects making Statikk Shiv CRITICAL. Using the third cast will allow you to cast your tornado which will initiate your ult. Can also be combo'd with his "E," Steel Tempest to create a ballerina spin/aoe damage version of your "q".

This is what makes Yasuo unique. He is the first champion with the ability to block projectiles using a terrain mechanic. Use this when a fight has been initiated. Placement is key. Put this in front of the ranged adc or ap champion. It is on a long cooldown so use it wisely.

Sweeping Blade is probably the most fun skill in your kit. With a VERY small cooldown it allows you to dodge ANYTHING as long as an enemy minion, neutral monster, or enemy champion is near. Just remember that if you do dash to something/someone you won't be able to dash to it again for a time (10-6 seconds). Use this in teamfights/laning phase to confuse those enemy casters.

This is what makes Yasuo such a high skill cap. Your ult depends on a knock-up which can come from you or your allies. Time this skill well and you have guaranteed a win for your team in the fight. Time it poorly and your team will loose a powerful damage source. Make sure you use this skill safely. Don't dive into the enemy team unless you notify your team and tell them to initiate with you. YOU ARE TARGETABLE DURING YOUR ULT. The wonderful thing is that this ult is on a low cooldown. Sometimes (if the teamfight lasts long enough) at max rank you can use it twice in a teamfight.

Counter Champions/ Synergies

Difficulty:
Hard
Riven is Yasuo's worst nightmare. With CC, high dueling potential, and a shield, she can definitely wreck you if your not careful enough. Start this combo off with Starting Option #4 for the extra health pots and armor. Max your Steel Tempest first and (if you can do it safely) charge it up and use at riven during her combo. When she does use her combo jump to the nearest minion and keep jumping till she wastes most of her combo on trying to get to you. In the meantime while you are using your Sweeping Blade combo it with your Steel Tempest right after you pressed "e" to guarantee a Steel Tempest stack. Then once stack fling them at Riven for some poke damage. I HIGHLY suggest you ping your jungler for help when she does go all in on you for extra assistance. Remember to also farm when possible so that you can get those core items.
