Hello and welcome on my extremly old guide, that i decide to update even if no one read it. So for the start, Kayn is a extremly good jungler, with a great clean, good gank potential and easy to play, which make him a perfect choice. what make Kayn unique (beside the fact he walks into walls like its nothing) is his passive, [the darkin scythe) Kayn can change his form and transform either in darkin or shadow assassin, getting permanent bonuses on his skills and a new passive. You can get more details about it later in guide.

Pros + High gank potential + very versatile + good clean + 2 forms + his ultimate make him untargetable + is funny to go out of rift with his E (was until nerf)

Cons - his E can be canceled if get damage - must do a lot of ganks early to get a form - shadow assassin is squishy - despite kayn's kit, darkin form is kind of slow (not slower than others bruisers tho)

So farming jg with Kayn usually is extremly easy, as he can get any path and even invade enemy jungler at level 1, stealing their raptors or wolfs and then possibly their buff, but excluding that niche below are the some path video explained probably better than I could myself, but I will do a tldr anyway if you are to lazy to watch.

Another important aspect (but i didnt exactly found the video i was searching for, that should be good too) is the best route to get a fast level 6, usually focusing on your red side and do raports and kurgs as soon as they are spawned. Raports and Krugs gives you the most hp from all the camps, so getting them fast is important, and Kayn can clean them very easy.

Some things worth mentioning comparing the video with Kayn and actual gameplay tho it's, between your cleans you should be also looking for ganking, even if you get a kill, flash or just force enemies to back will still be worth, you get pressure on map and will help you get a form faster (which should be one of your priorities)

Also probably the best route to start would be to start at Crimson Raptor and go to red, krugs then even look to gank bot/mid and then do rift scuttler, or invade enemy jg, or just go at your Murk Wolf then blue sentinel and from there is kind of situational, you could again go for rift scuttler if you are after minute 3 or just do gromp otherwise, did not exclude de possibility to gank a lane.

Also Kayn have a unique way to gank a lane thankfully to his Shadow Step, the single other jungler with a similar way but limited range of ganking is Rek'Sai, and Aurelion Sol

I think it is obvious, but Domination tree is the best for Kayn both for his darkin form but assassin too, the keystones there offer a lot of utility to him and I may discuss every single one if needed but I will focus on important parts. Electrocute is kind of universal, it works great on both forms thanks to his well, raw damage and being easy to proc. Dark Harvest on the other side is a great late game rune focused, and works on kayn mainly because you don't have much kill presure early game, but you should be able to proc it in ganks, I think it works the best on darkin form for the burst you can do on low hp enemies, finishim them off in duels. Sudden Impact and Cheap Shot are both viable choices, sudden impact is easier to proc tho since it's cooldown is almost same with your Reaping Slash cooldown at max rank, and your condition to trigger it in general, Cheap Shot on other side can be triggered directly with your Blade's Reach or litereally any form of cc, but if you want to trigger it by yourself Reaping Slash is the answer. Eyeball Collection is a great agressive rune, and assuming you will get some kills or assists you should profit from it, but if you want a more passive gamestyle and vision then go for Ghost Poro (unless you plan to upgrade your trinket early, then there's no point in picking that rune, you will never max stack it) Ravenous Hunter probably is the best sustain rune from those existing, it will help you both in farming and fighting, it basically is triggered by anything but your autos. Another option for last line would be Relentless Hunter for snowballing and pressure (if you go assassin mainly, works good with predator too) or Ingenious Hunter to spam more your Predator Youmuu's Ghostblade combo. Predator Is a good keystone for assassin in general, because of the speed he benefit alone from Shadow Step and huge movement boost from rune, you should be able to delete enemy adc (or any squishy enemy) instant before they even notice you. It's really a fun and effective way to play Kayn that anyone can manage.

For secondary runes usually that is more based on your playstyle and match, you should always consider what are the best options to go in the specific match. Of course some builds needs specific runes, for example, for Predator assassin you will want Celerity or Absolute Focus and Gathering Storm to burst enemies as easy and fast as possible, but outside of those snowballing options, the other would be Resolve (mainly on darkin, for more tankiness in fights), Inspiration usually for Approach Velocity, that will help you to sitck easier on champions hited by your Blade's Reach and .. well literally any rune from first line, all are good, Stopwatch it's an free zhonya at level 6, and can be upgraded in Guardian Angel, Magical Footwear gives you free boots, so you save 300 gold for something else and the boots are a little faster than normal ones and Hextech Flashtraption is honestly not the best option. The last second path you can go for is Precision for Legend: Tenacity which will help you to deal better with enemy CC and Coup de Grace or Triumph

Another rune you can take on Kayn is Conqueror, which works good in long duels, you get more ad, true damage and heal more, this will work good on darkin form, giving him even more sustain and power. While going for conq you will want secondary Ravenous Hunter for that extra sustain tho, and Sudden Impact or Taste of Blood.

Kayn's base passive is The Darkin Scythe, when he damage enemies they drop some orbs (red for melee champions and blue for ranged), once the bar is full Kayn can transform in darkin or shadow assassin, gaining upgrading his skills and gaining a new passive

Kayn's shadow assassin passive, well just do bonus magic damage for 3 seconds, his ult refresh it.

Rhaast passive give Kayn percentage healings of the damage he dealt on enemies with his skills.

Kayn's Q is Reaping Slash, he dash a small distance and rotate his scythe, both dash and scythe deal damage. Kayn can jump over small walls with Reaping Slash. While in darkin form Reaping Slash deal 50% of his total ad and percent damage of the enemy max hp, the percent amount depend of your bonus ad.

kayn's W is Blade's Reach, he deals damage in a line slowing all enemies. On darkin form Blade's Reach stun the enemies insead, while shadow assassin can continue walking when castig Blade's Reach

Probably Kayn's signature skills, Shadow Step, Kayn can walk throught walls and get a bonus movement speed. Shadow Assassin also get slow immunity and double the movment speed when kayn walk in a wall.

Kayn ultimate is Umbral Trespass, Kayn invade your body ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) , became untargetable and damage his target while dashing away from it. Darkin form will deal damage based on enemy max hp, while shadow assassin gets extra cast range and extra dash range.
