Champion Build Guide

A Casual's Guide to Diana Jungle [WIP]

By Cysona
Preface
With this guide, I hope to keep a Diana jungle build current with the meta, despite it's low play rate. I will be updating this guide at least every patch. Please feel free to help improve this guide by commenting with suggestions. I would also like to say that I put quite a bit into the build notes, and I strongly suggest reading them.
Patch Changes
This chapter is for me to regularly update on a patch-to-patch basis, and make comments on changes.

Patch 9.11 is a smaller patch that does feature changes to a handful of junglers. These changes won't shake the tier list too much, and Diana will probably stay as a jungler that doesn't even appear on most jungle tier lists. We do have one change, a bugfix for all of you who use the Dark Valkyrie skin! Crescent Light's moonlight no longer reappears after expiring!
Early Game
Before sixth level, Diana's ganks are pretty weak due to being unable to reliably close the distance between her target and herself. Rather than trying to fix this relatively short period of the game, our goals should be to get to sixth level as fast as possible, and preventing the enemy jungle from ganking until then. As power farming is currently not a viable strategy, we should be providing vision for our team, and counter ganking whilst farming when we can.
Gank Focus Pathing
1. Start with your Red Brambleback
2. Clear your Krugs
3. Slaughter your Raptors
4. Contest the Scuttle Crab, secure with Smite
5. Gank a nearby lane or path towards either Blue Sentinel (Maybe second Scuttle?)
6. Gank a nearby lane or recall
7. Repeat steps 2-6 when Krugs have respawned and take Red Brambleback when it is up
8. Farming should not be your number one priority

As I said in my other pathing chapter, which I moved to the end of this guide because this pathing is better; the side of your jungle with the Red Brambleback is more dense in experience and gold than the blue side of the jungle. The Koreans had this great idea where you only clear your red side jungle, for the most part, and spend the rest of the time helping your laners. By clearing your red side jungle as soon as they respawn, you are leveling them up, and increasing their value, allowing you keep up with your the levels of everyone else due to how much experience is in the red side jungle. You want to avoid farming blue side because, unless you can clear them quickly, the time it takes to clear them is not worth the gold and experienced gained. What you can do instead is use this time to gank lanes, and set up vision.
Farm Focus Pathing
This pathing is currently not suggested.

1. Start with your Red Brambleback
2. Clear your Krugs using Smite or save it for the Raptors
3. Slaughter your Raptors
4. Contest the Scuttle Crab, secure with Smite
5. Butcher your Murk Wolves
6. Murder your Gromp
7. Execute your Blue Sentinel
8. Ward for your laners, taking Scuttle Crab if it's still alive
9. Counter gank if necessary
10. Recall
11. Smash your Krugs
12. Eat your Raptors
13. Use wards if you have them
14. End your Red Brambleback
15. Look for a gank,

The red side of the jungle being the side with the Red Brambleback, before contesting for them. By clearing out the red side of the jungle, you will be able to reach third level shortly before the Shuttle Crabs spawn, potentially putting you at a level advantage. This is due to the red side of the jungle having more experience than the blue side.

Because we cleared out Krugs and Raptors first, the Murk Wolves, Gromp, and Blue Sentinel will be enough for us to reach fourth level; if we took them at 3rd level their experience would be reduced. This is, however, provided if we took a Scuttle Crab or siphoned some experience from our laners.

After clearing your red side jungle a second time, you will be at sixth level, or almost about to level up, allowing you to gank with your ultimate. It should be just before the ten minute mark, so you should be trying to spend the rest of the early game ganking. By securing a kill, you should be able to buy your enchantment.
Mid Game
As Diana, mid game can put you into a weird position. While Diana's wave clear can be quick, it is not the safest. Additionally, she lacks a reliable escape, seriously both Katarina and Jax can at least jump to their allies. These aspects of her kit doesn't make her the best candidate for split pushing, and even if you build off-tank split pushing can be risky.
As for team fighting, your focus should be before the fight starts and after the fight starts. Before the fight, you should be trying to catch people out to remove them from the next team fight without dying. This does not mean you have to get a kill, forcing someone to recall can be enough to remove them from the next team fight. After the fight starts, you should be waiting until all the enemy's crowd control has been used before attacking the enemy backline. If your team wins the fight, the reset on your ultimate can be good for cleaning up after.
Lastly, as a jungler, you need to maintain control of objectives. Make sure to buy control wards, and grab a sweeper if your support can ward effectively.
