Caitlyn-The sheriff of piltover

Welcome to my caitlyn guide.Explaining all her basics and how does she works.. And dont be rude this is my 1st build and i will put all effort possible on it.

After a lot of testing on this build i finally decided to post it.

Caitlyn is a ranged carry dps. With an incredible harass early game and a good range, making her a perfect mid or a solo top (Will explain after). She can easily stablish lane dominance and she has great capabilities to push on the lane.

Acronyms and what does they mean.

AA= Auto Attack.In other terms basic attack
AD= Attack damage
AP= Ability power
AS= Attack Speed
AoE= Area of effect
CC= Crowd Control (stuns,slows,etc).
CDR= Cooldown reduction
DoT= Damage over time/// Example:Malzahar malefic visions.
ELO= A rating system
FB= First Blood
HP= Health
LS= Life Steal
MP= Mana
MR= Magic resistance
Armor= Armor (Lol)
MS= Movement Speed
OOM= Out of mana
SV= Spell Vamp
DPS= Damage per seconds. This means champions that can hold a constant damage.
MDPS= Magic Damage per seconds.Same as DPS but with caster champions.
Nuke= A champion with high capabilities to take down ppl hp in seconds. EX:Veigar
HP5= Health regen per 5 sec.
MP5 = Mana regen per 5 sec.
ArPEN= Armor penetration
Mpen= Magic penetration
Squishy= Champion with low hp pool and easy to get killed.
Tank= Champion with high hp pool.they rush first and take all the punish 4 the team
OT= Off tank,Champion that have a good hp pool and is still,able to get punish while dealing damage,they dont count with a real tank stats or a true carry stats.They mainly are a mix beetwen them
Support= Champions that can support the team with Auras,heals,etc they dont have a high hp pool and a good dmg output,but can help the team a lot.
Quint= Quintessence
Ulti:R Spell.
Backdoor:Backdoor is when a champion goes to push a tower alone without minions or nothing near that can get the dmg from the tower.

Pros / Cons

Insane and crazy harass over early-mid game
90 caliber net is a GREAT scape tool.
Very good pusher.
Very good farm and harass with the HEADSHOT.
You can use the traps for ward important places.
Insane range on the ult.
Vulnerable to CC
Squishy as ****
Enemies generally focus her on team-fights.
She cant always rely on 90 caliber net to scape
Ultimate can get block,and that's badass

I go 21/0/9 taking on the offensive three the basic masteries for deal a sustained damage.And taking on the utility three IMPROVED GHOST,Health regen and mana regen for keep mana up in early game to have a decent harass with Piltover Peacemaker early game and dont get out of mana .And for end i get the bonus exp mastery.

NOTE: U can go 21/9/0 if u feel good that u can keep the mana up and need that little surv. and donde chance

Greater mark of desolationMarks: I rush armor pen. this will help a lot your auto attack and piltover peacemaker damage.

Greater seal of replenishmentSeals: Mana regen per 5 sec. This will make you able to keep your mana up meanwhile you harass a lot.Here you can also get dodge change or other runes if you are having problems with the deaths.

Glyphs: For blue i rush Attack damage x level,this will give you a little boost early game with your auto attack and piltover peacemaker,I will say here the same i said in seals if you feel good with any other choices like mana regen you can also go for it.

Quintessence:I go for the health quint here because gives me a lot of hp early game with the dorans blade and makes me able to stay a lot in lane. Same here you can go for something more deffensive or something offensive like armor pen or etc.

Summoner Spells

I Pick Ghost Because this: It gives me a good scape abilitie if i get ganked,can switch easily lanes/gank them ,go-in beetwen micro teamfights.can scout enemy jungle etc.

I pick Flash Because this:Same as ghost this with 90 caliber net is a good scape combo,can flash through walls,scape,chase,Overall a very usefull Spell

I pick Cleanse Because this:Not a bad spell u get stuned,FLOOP cleanse and CYA!.very usefull.


Exhaust: A very good choise if the enemy team has a lot of phys dps and need that blind to FK in their face.Or simply slow the enemy and Bluum go away with your trap,net combo.
Ignite:I dont use it a lot but a very good spell to finish that Baddies runners and finish them with this spell.
Clairvoyance:Im not a fan of clairvoyance but if u are a pro of clairv pick it. this spell is a mobile ward that can decide a gank or get ganked.The ace Or the fail.
Teleport:This is good for go to that lane and clean that minion wave,switch lanes,help the team in other lanes,Push lanes that stuff...


Smite:You arent going to jungle so ,Bye Bye Smite.
Heal :You wont need this man theres better choices.Plus this spell loses it utility in late game.
Rally :Let the tank or the support get it. the same there's better choices for you.
Revive:SRS ? Dont need to explain.In some builds like HeAt jungle eve build this spell can get some utility but not in this build.
Fortify:Let the tank get it.SAME,THERE'S BETTER CHOICES FOR YOU.

Core item build sequence

:Ok dorans blade is possibly one of the best starter item for Cait due to the damage,lifesteal and that huge 100 hp.So for star we will pick this item.

:Right this boots as i said in the dorans blade is possible a very good good item on cait. that good AS will make your passive to come up more faster. thats mean more harass and BLUM HEADSHOTS.
NOTE:You can also get Mercury's Treads if the enemy team is full of cc's.

B.F.Sword:Well this items is very eesential.Gives you a realy good dmg and a perfect boost for drop down that squishys more easy. this item is necessary because we will build it into a Infinity Edge

:Well we get this item after bf for the same reasons we have to get B.F. a good dmg.and will build into an Infinity Edge

:This item is good for the 18% crit chance.And well we will transform this item with b.f and pickaxe into the ¬°incredible! Infinity Edge :D

:YAAAY .HERE'S WHEN THE REAL power of this build comes. you will be dealing crazy dmg with your crits. raping squishys and fking everything.

OOOOOKEEEEEY. Lets make and stop.we got enough dmg until late game now lets get some AS and survibality. The order here will change depending on your situation. you will always get zeal first but will depend now if you get thirster or mallet first.will depend on how are you doing and if you need dmg or surv.

:This is the perfect boost to mid game. with the attack speed and crit chance you can actually have a decent speed auto attacking meanwhile doing a lot of good crits.

:This item if correctly stacked and without die. will make you a killing machine and dominate the entire game.

:Oh well very good item overall specially for the health and slow on each attack. this will make you able to chase enemies very easy and bring them slowly to the death.

OKEY OKEY OKEY For the 6th item this should be situational If your facing a heavy CC Enmy team: Get Quicksilver Sash.

Skill's explanation.

Piltover peacemaker:Caitlyn revs up her rifle for 1 second to unleash a penetrating shot which deals physical damage (deals less damage to subsequent targets).

This skill will be your bread and butter and a EPIC EPIC EPICCCCC harass over early-mid game. and your farming tool over all the game. try to use it in most minions as possible. If u can hit the champ too do it.This why we max this 1st.Also you can use this to snipe runner due to the long range.

Yordle snap trap:Caitlyn sets a trap to reveal sneaky yordles. When sprung, the trap immobilizes the champion and deals magic damage over 1.5 seconds.

This spell is what i call a ''mobile ward'' place it for ward baron,dragon,gank zone,bushes to avoid get ganked and in any strategical zone.This is why we max this second.

90 Caliber net:Caitlyn fires a heavy net to slow her target, the recoil knocks Caitlyn back.After i will post a tutorial of Trap placement.

This spell its only usefull for jump over walls or impulse yourself in the middle of a chase to reach your enemy.After i will post a tutorial where i show how to jump and where to use this spell.

Ace in the hole:Ultimate-Caitlyn takes time to line up the perfect shot, dealing massive damage to a single target at a huge range. Enemy champions can intercept the bullet for their ally.

Imho is one of the most funny spells ingame. its easy to use etc.But YOU ONLY HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF ONE THING This is like play football. your allies are the guys with the low hp and running.Your enemys are the big baddy guys with high hp and fighting.
In football match you will give the ''ballon'' to your allies (the guys with low hp)And you wont give the ballon to your enemies.Conclusion.
You will shoot ace in the hole to the squishy with low hp running. no to the tank. and always make sure that the enemies are far away from the target so they wont intercept the shoot.

Headshot.:Passive-Every 8 attacks (attacks while in brush count as 2), Caitlyn will fire a headshot, dealing either 150% damage to a champion or 250% damage to a minion

Perfect passive for harass and farming too.This is what makes cait a good solo top. you can use the top bush to charge Headshot and keep a good harass.The technique is easy. land 3 shoots in the bush - 1 outside and headshot will be charged.If you solo mid you will have to 7-hit a minion and use the headshot on the champ.If the enemy is far away dont be afraid of use it on a minion but always try to use it on harass.
