Introduction
Why GP Jungle?
Because it's a lot of fun! ^^
Also he has a nice slow (
Grog Soaked Blade), he can buff his teammates ( Raise Morale), he has a global slow with some extra damage ( Cannon Barrage) and ofc, he can disable any CC once every ~20 sec ( Remove Scurvy).

I like to get this item because it makes you fairly tanky if you finish it early on. You also don't have to get Mercury's Treads because of the tenacity. But you can switch to Spirit of the Elder Lizard or Wriggle's Lantern if you don't need the hp. |
In my opinion Trinity Force is the strongest item for gangplank. Attack speed is good for damage and applying your passive, sheen works great with Parrrley and phage is great on almost any ad bruiser. However, you should consider getting what I like to call"trinity force +" meaning: Iceborn Gauntlet, Frozen Mallet and Phantom Dancer. You shold never get any of those items if you already have/are going to buy trinity force though. |
Just a strong item overall, giving the highest amount of hp in the game. It's especially strong in S3 now that hp have higher value. It makes you hard to kill and you will be able to 1v1 squishies. |

It works good with the hp from Warmog's Armor and Trinity Force and crit chance works great with Parrrley. Some armor is necessary to not melt in teamfights. You can switch this item for Iceborn Gauntlet if you're not getting Trinity Force. |
I've mentioned this item several times but I haven't explained why it's a good item for gp. It's a great item to get if you're not getting Trinity Force (because you would loose the Sheen). The passive procs on Parrrley which gives you a great ranged slow and some nice extra damage from the Sheen in it. CD reduction is also great on GP and with the extra mana it gives you can happily spam away your abilities. Armor is simply a mustbuy. |
Ah, boots... I put Boots up there because what boots you want is up to you. Here are my thoughts:If you don't have Spirit of the Ancient Golem I strongly recommend getting Mercury's Treads. Berserker's Greaves is a good choice if you have tenacity and are looking for more damage. Boots of Swiftness is a good pick if you're not able to catch up to enemies and are constantly slowed down. If you're stopped by other CC than slows you probably need Mercury's Treads though. Ionian Boots of Lucidity are alright on gp, especially if you're going for Iceborn Gauntlet, I never get them though.
