Introduction

Greetings Summoners!

This is My Personal Guide to Gangplank!
I have never looked at someone else's guide to play any champions before so this Guide may be Simular to a Different Guide. I Construct my Own Builds and Play Style with all Champions in which I Play.

Never the Less this Build has never failed me and hopefully will never fail you!

Note: This Guide is for Lane Gangplank and may not work for Jungle Gangplank.

Runes

This Rune Page is generally for my AD Carries and my Physical Damage Dealing Offtanks so its not the best of Rune Pages, since I Don't have Rune Pages for Specfic Champions. However I will say the Pros and Cons of My Rune Page and Sugguest alterations to suit the Chmapion.

Pros
- Nice Sustainablity in Lane due to the Health Regen
(The Health Regen you would get from a Rejuvenation Bead + More from Masteries)
- Early Game to Late Game Armor Penetration
(Helping with Dmg, Starting with around 21 Armor Penetration at Lvl 1)
- Armor For a Little Extra Sustainablity
(As Minions Hit Less and so do Physical Damage Champions)
- Attack Speed for easier Farming
(And because I don't build much Attack Speed into Gangplank)

Cons
- Not Much Cooldown Reduction
(You could replace the Attack Speed Runes)
- Health Regen Runes may not be Needed
(Could Replace for Crit Damage Runes)
- Armor Runes may also not be needed
(Could Replace for Any Runes of your Choice that Benefits the Champion)

Pros / Cons

Pros
- Very Good Farmer
- Has a Skill to Remove CC which also Heals
- Can Assist your Team from Anywhere
- Dominates Squishies
- Can be a Good Pick in Dominion
- Can Jungle

Cons
- Pretty Squishie
- Melee Champion, except from Parrley

The Skills

Passive: This is a really nice passive doing DoT and slowing the enemy: Gangplank's basic attacks apply a poison debuff for 3 seconds that can stack up to 3 times. Each stack deals (3 + [1 x level]) magic damage per second and slows the target by 7%.

Q: Great ranged attack applying on hit effects (like Sheen) and has amazing damage: Gankplank shoots an enemy with his pistol, dealing physical damage. Gangplank gains extra gold if Parrrley deals a killing blow. This ability can critically strike and applies on-hit effects, including his passive.

W: A skill providing a heal, cleanse or both, just eat oranges and it's kay: Gangplank consumes a large quantity of citrus fruit which removes all crowd control effects on him and heals him.

E: Raises your team's moral applying a buff of movemenet speed, attack damage and attack speed that can help all your team and yourself, it also works passively as a steriod: (Passive): Gangplank's attack damage and movement speed are permanently increased. (Active): Gangplank fires into the air, disabling his passive boost but inspiring himself to gain additional attack damage and movement speed, with nearby allied champions receiving half that amount, for 7 seconds.

R: An ultimate that slows and damages the enemy, which is exellent for defending turrets and great for assisting your team and yourself: Gangplank signals his ship to fire upon target area for 7 seconds. Each cannonball deals magic damage to all enemies hit. Enemies caught in the area of this ability are slowed by 25% for 1.25 seconds, with the duration refreshing if one stays in the area.

The Items

1- Start with Brawler's Gloves, 1 Health Potion and 1 Mana Potion. The Brawler's Glove gives you crit and it is for your Avarice Blade. The Potions Provide sustainability in Lane.

2- Then Rush Avarice Blade: For good crit and money till you buy Youmuu's Ghostblade.

3- After get Boots for Moevement Speed and a few potions if needed.

4- After that we rush Trinity Force getting Sheen first to increase Damage on Q.

5- Then getting a Zeal for Movement Speed, Attack Speed and Crit Chance.

6- Get a Vampiric Scepter for a Little more Survivablity before fininishing

7- Trinity Force!

8- Finish your boots to Ionian Boots of Lucidity for decreased Cooldowns

9- After that Rush Infinity Edge giving you More Crit Chance and Bigger Crit Dmg, by getting a BF Sword first then Pickaxe and then after, finish it.

~ At This Point the Game should be GG if you've done it right, with either you dealing too much damage for the Enemy to Tank or your team being soo bad that you Lose ~

However if the Game Continues -->

10- Get either Bloodthirster or Last Whisper Depending on the Enemy team. If they have stacked Armor get Last Whisper, if you need more surviablity get Bloodthirster, which is a great counter for enemy carries and Thornmail.

11- Now either Finish your Youmuu's Ghostblade Or Sell the Avarice Blade and buy a Surviablity item like Warmog's Armor or Banshee's Veil.

Gameplay

I start off with Brawler's Gloves, 1 Health Potion and 1 Mana Potion. Once in Lane I try to last hit as many minions as possible with Parrrley and gaining as many last hits as possible with auto attacks. Whilst doing this Harassing the Enemy with Parrrley once in a while or an Auto Attack.

By the time you have finished both potions you SHOULD have enough money for Avarice Blade. tell your lane partner you are recalling, so they don't make any reckless moves. Buy your Avarice Blade and a few potions and a Sight Ward if you have money to spare.

~ Wards save lives ~

Once I return to lane, I ask if the partner wants to recall, if they do play safely, whilst still getting as many minion kills as possible, if not continue the laning. Place the ward in a suitable location where ganks could occur.

~ If you happen to be in a Duo Lane against a Solo Lane either ask your partner to head into the Jungle or do it yourself, ensure that either YOU or your PARTNER can farm whilst being able to stop the enemy in the Solo Lane from farming. ~

Gank any lane that needs assistence by activating Raise Morale to Increase your's and your teammate's movement speed and damage and hit with Parrrley. And as said before, ensure your Partner can Solo the Lane.

In Team Fights
In Team Fights, whenever your in Range of your Team, Activate your Raise Morale to Gain Assists(Money) and use your Cannon Barrage as well if Necessary. Gaining these Assists will help you Build your items, and also Generally help your Team. Use Parley whenever Possible, not to KS but to assist in the Kill along with auto attacking to slow the enemy and to do Dmg. It is fine if you don't actually gain any Kills within Earlier Team Fights and you'll get your Kills later on.

By the time you have obtained your Infinity Edge it should be GG as you'll be nuking Squishies down to 1/2 HP along with Tankier Champions to 3/4 or 4/5. This will occur if your team is doing Generally Ok along with yourself.

However if your team is of unskilled players or you have failed, then the game would most likely have ended as the Enemy as won by the time you reach that item.

Future Add-ons

I will post up a Working Build for Gangplank in Dominon as he is a viable pick because of the supporting in which he can provide his team, his high damage along with his skills being helpful within it eg. His Ulti can stop someone Capturing a Point.
