[Season 11] Shaco Support/Top/Jungle - WIP

By QueenAvery

Welcome to my guide to playing Shaco, my name is MiracleHuman. I'm a Gold 4 Shaco Support/Top/Jungle main. I've been playing Shaco for a while now and have about 500k mastery point on Shaco. I prefer AP Shaco over AD because the fighting style of AP Shaco is WAYYYYYYY different and there is more mechanics and baiting potential while playing AP. It is so fun to outplay your opponent by controlling your Hallucinate as if it was your real champ.

Shaco's basic attacks and Two-Shiv Poison deal additional damage when striking from behind.

Basic attacks deal an additional 10−25 (+0.15 per bonus attack damage) bonus physical damage (depending on level). This damage can critically strike.
Two-Shiv Poison deals an additional 15−50 (+10% of ability power) bonus magic damage (depending on level).

After a 0.125 second delay, Shaco blinks to the target location, becoming invisible for 2.5 / 2.75 / 3 / 3.25 / 3.5 seconds. If Shaco attacks within 0.25 seconds of exiting stealth, the attack deals 25 / 35 / 45 / 55 / 65 (+0.25 per bonus attack damage) bonus physical damage. When striking from behind, Deceive is guaranteed to critically strike for 130% damage.

Deceive's invisibility is not removed when Shaco casts Hallucinate, while casting Jack In The Box causes him to shimmer without removing it.

Shaco creates a Jack In The Box at the target location, which becomes stealthed after 2 seconds. When an enemy comes near (300 range), the box will trigger, fearing nearby enemy champions for 0.5 / 0.75 / 1 / 1.25 / 1.5 seconds and reducing their movement speed to 100, while fearing all other enemies for 2 seconds and reducing their movement speed to 60.

The box will also start firing at nearby enemies, dealing 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 (+10% of ability power) magic damage to them with each attack (reduced by 50% against structures). If the box attacks only one unit, this damage is increased to 35 / 50 / 65 / 80 / 95 (+20% of ability power) per attack.

A Box lasts for up to 40 (+5% of ability power) seconds while stealthed, or up to 5 seconds once triggered.

Passive: While Two-Shiv Poison is ready to cast, Shaco's basic attacks poison his target, reducing their movement speed by 20 / 22.5 / 25 / 27.5 / 30% for 2 seconds.

Active: Shaco throws a dagger at the target enemy, slowing them by 20 / 22.5 / 25 / 27.5 / 30% for 3 seconds and dealing 70 / 95 / 120 / 145 / 170 (+0.7 per bonus attack damage) (+55% of ability power) magic damage. This damage is increased by 50% against targets below 30% of their maximum health.

Shaco stealths for half a second and creates a clone of himself nearby, which deals 60% of Shaco's damage and receives 50% increased damage. The clone takes double damage from turrets and deals 35% damage to turrets and inhibitors. The clone lasts up to 18 seconds.

On death, the clone deals 150 / 225 / 300 (+70% of ability power) magic damage to nearby enemies, while also leaving behind a nest of three Jack In The Box which activate instantly, fearing nearby enemies for 1 second.

The nest lasts for up to 6 seconds, during which the boxes attack nearby enemies, dealing 10 / 20 / 30 (+10% of ability power) magic damage per attack. This damage is increased to 25 / 50 / 75 (+15% of ability power) magic damage per attack if the boxes attack a single unit.

Early game
As support in the early game you should poke with your Two-Shiv Poison to prock Comet and Manaflow Band against mage supports. Against engage supports like Leona, Nautilus, Pantheon, etc. You should try to intentionally position yourself poorly and then bait him into boxes to potentially look for a kill or for a good trade. Be careful because Shaco has high mana costs and using too much Jack In The Box will drain your mana pool very fast. It is usually pretty annoying to lane against Shaco and if they die once to you they'll be very very careful so you'll have to bait them being low life afterwards.

Mid Game
During mid game with Shaco you have to play around your team so they can kite into boxes. Usually you're gonna play around mid lane and places boxes on the side of the lane and in the bushes. You should be constantly looking at objectives timer and 1 minute before Drake spawns you should place boxes in the placement I showed in the Box Placement section. All boxes placement are situational to the team and the situation. Try to look force fights and play very aggressive as your kit is very safe and you have lots of survability with Deceive and Hallucinate

Bamboozles
Number of times the clone from Hallucinate (R) has been auto attacked or hit by a spell from an enemy champion.
Annoying Toys
Stealthed Jack in the Boxes (W) triggered by enemy champions.
Punchlines
Enemy champions killed by Two-Shiv Poison (E)

When playing Shaco support, there is different Jack In The Box placement, some of them are very situational depending on the jungler or mid laner. They are very useful on denying ganks and rotations by enemy team. The only bad thing is that invis champions such as Pyke, Twitch, Evelynn, Teemo, Talon, ect....

This is usually again't champs who can go through walls like Zac or Kayn. This can pretty much save you from most ganks depending on where you are in lane. When you're very far up you can put 2 down at the same place so it deals more damage and fears him more.
I like to put these boxes down either if your jungler doesn't need a leash or is topside. You put these 2 boxes down starting at 1:15, then when the minions arrive you put a third one in the middle they'll be forced to walk into one of them and you can get a free first blood or even double kill.
Another cheese but they might not go there if they have a ward or they're smart enough. Can work in low elo most of the time.

This is just basic Box placements against most junglers. Don't forget that Twitch and Evelynn can go through your boxes when invis so you should put down a Control Ward neart boxes or stay close to them to reveal them when they come to gank you.

This is for teamfights for Drakes and Baron Nashor. Don't forget to start putting those down ~ 1 minute before so the fight isn't already taking place. Those are very very important as it will block most access to objectives and guarantee them to your team. Don't forget that objectives win games and stat will help your team alot so you should focus on those.
