AMUMU JUNGLE GAMEPLAY GUIDES :D (Beginner's Guide)
Combining this guide with these videos will help you tremendously while learning how to play and win games with Amumu! If you have any questions, be sure to let me know in the comments~ let's keep it positive :)
Cursed Touch
Passive: When you auto attack an enemy, the target is cursed for 3 seconds. Cursed targets receive 10% bonus true damage from all incoming magic damage, calculated before their magic resist reduction. AKA Tons of damage; this is why you should pick Amumu when you have a lot of ability power on your team for maximum damage >:)
Bandage Toss
Q: This is a very long ranged skillshot with a wind-up time, similar to Thresh's hook Death Sentence. When landed, it stuns the enemy for 1 second and pulls Amumu towards them like a slingshot! You can get very tricky with this ability for engaging or escaping with minions and camps over walls, as well as pathing quicker through the jungle. Time the enemy's Flash so when you go back to gank it's an easier to secure a kill.
Despair
W (Toggle): Amumu starts crying and surrounds himself in a circle of tears! They do damage over time (every half of a second) depending on the amount of ability power you have, along with more damage depending on the enemy's max HP. Despair refreshes your passive Cursed Touch and drains mana fast, so keep this in mind when you're not fighting you'll need it later :)
Tantrum
E Passive: Amumu takes reduced damage from each and every physical attack.
Active: Nearby enemies are attacked by Amumu's headBang. Tantrum's cooldown is also reduced by 0.5 seconds every time Amumu is hit by a basic attack.
Curse of the Sad Mummy
R: Amumu entangles surrounding enemies for 2 seconds, dealing magic damage and applying curse for 3 seconds. This is a CORE ability to land on the enemy backline that can turn games around town due to it's large radius :D It's great for engaging and disengaging fights.
Aftershock
is great since it gives you great base tank and damage stats early on (100 Armor and Magic Resist level 1) and scales throughout the game. It has a damage proc after immobilizing an enemy champion with a 35 second cooldown.Font of Life
is amazing for carrying your teammates when you fight 5v5. When you impair enemy champions with your crowd control (ex Curse of the Sad Mummy on multiple targets) and they follow up with their damage, they will heal for a percentage of your maximum health.Conditioning
gives you really good Armor and Magic Resistance stats. After 10 minutes have passed in the game, you gain 8 Armor and 8 Magic Resit, plus 5% bonus Armor and MR. It is a great choice if you plan to build Armor and Magic Resist, your tankiness will scale hard later on.Unflinching:
After casting a Summoner Spell, you gain Tenacity and Slow Resistance for 10 seconds! You also gain Tenacity and Slow Resistance for each Summoner Spell on a Cooldown timer.SORCERY OPTIONS:
Gathering Storm:
Gain Increasing AD or AP (adaptive, depending on which amount of damage you have the most of) throughout the course of the game. 10min: +8AP, 20min: 24AP, 30min: 48AP, 40min: 80AP, etc.Nullifying Orb:
Gain a Magic Damage Shield when you are taken to low health.Waterwalking
andTranscendence
are both great options, in order to get the most out of Transcendence it's best to go my AP Heavy Build and build full Cooldown Reduction items such as Iceborn Gauntlet, Runic Echoes and Ionian Boots of Lucidity. The Transcendence and Waterwalking pair are better than Celerity especially since it just got nerfed on Patch 8.16:

Burn Baby with the power of my Sunfire Aegis, Burn! Sunfire Aegis is a must-buy item for Amumu jungle, especially for beginners. This item will assist with your jungle clears and team fights with its DoT (damage over time) for the duration of the fighting. Combining this with your Cursed Touch and Despair makes it a no-brainer to pick this item up. Do your best to focus up and not tilt to be able to afford the first component early, Bami's Cinder. If you focus on ganking lanes where the enemy is overextending to your towers and farming in a path, you will be able to afford your items quickly without panic!. |

Frozen Heart This is a great item to build while facing fed enemy ADCs (Attack Damage Carries. This will greatly nullify their damage with the combination of Plated Steelcaps due to these items' passives. Randuin's Omen is also a great choice versus enemies that are fed that deal a great amount of critical strike damage such as Yasuo. Thornmail is a great pickup versus enemies that have a lot of sustain and healing, it negates the usefulness of that stat by a large percentage with Grevious Wounds. |

Demonic Looking Face To Embrace The Demonic Embrace is a great item for Amumu due to the fact that it synergizes well with his kit. This is an item you should build after Sunfire Aegis every game. It has a high winrate for his core build at the moment. |
When deciding which lane to gank, and when to start Red Buff or Blue Buff
This is something that comes with experience deciding which matchup on your team will be more advantageous than the other..
For example, if you have a Lux mid versus Anivia, you would want to gank that lane because Lux has priority versus Anivia, which means she generally wins the matchup. ⇒ Overall when deciding to gank you can go as an enemy is overextending or has burned their Crowd Control (stuns) or escapes (ie Flash).
That would provide decent timing along with knowing what is warded and where the enemy jungler is, to avoid a counter gank. ⇒ When deciding whether or not to start Red or Blue, this guide teaches a great path on how to start Red, however, change it up and do the opposite by starting Blue when you have lane priority bot. To decide if you have a priority bot, this can be done rather easily sometimes. If you see an obscure matchup on the enemy team (such as a Kindred ADC) you can gank while they overextend and set up easy kills and opportunities for your team to get ahead by camping that troll pick.
Pay Attention To Where The Enemy Jungler Starts:
It is great to get information on where the enemy jungler is starting his clear (it's usually the Blue Sentinel), try warding their buff if you can so you know where they will be after their first clear. Most junglers gets a leash nowadays, so if you pay attention to whatever lane comes out late (ie top or bot) that is where the jungler started. Ask your top laner to watch and ward your blue buff and be mindful of invades early on by being prepared to see the enemy jungler. I have glanced at other Amumu Mobafire guides, and they are all telling you the same, most inefficient jungling routes EVER that are not worth the time! We start with the more experience-efficient camps first so they respawn faster. Be careful not to run out of mana with Despair, the damage over time makes the clear a lot quicker. Save your Smite until the end of your clear OR if you get invaded. You may be forced to Flash early however it's better to save yourself rather than giving first blood. You should go for the Crimson Raptor camp next, the quickest and most satisfying camp to clear with Amumu since you have multiple bogies attacking you at once. This means your Tantrum's cooldown is reduced significantly every single time you get attacked, making Crimson Raptor an amazing camp to counter jungle since you do it very quickly by using Tantrum a lot!
Greater Murk Wolf is the next camp, essentially we are pathing upwards and doing a full clear.
It is important to look at lanes while you're jungling so you get a sense of what's going on. This will improve your map awareness overall, next we are going to clearBlue Buff, Smite it and look for the Rift Scuttler crab to regen health. This is the hardest part of the clear because it is dangerous to walk out into the river versus certain matchups such as Lee Sin. However if you get a free crab then you have the ability to check for the enemy Crimson Raptor. Otherwise, after blue just do your Gromp and recall to buy your Stalker's Blade. When you run out of base, path Ancient Krug and look for the other Rift Scuttler, by then your Crimson Raptor will respawn allowing you to repeat your clear! This route will get you to Level 5 in 5 minutes~
