Hey guys, I am Daydreamin and I wanna bring you Caitlyn near. Caitlyn becomes more popular since Graves, Corki and Ezreal were the most played champions in S2. The people find out about Caitlyns true power. She is popular for her long range AA's and nice poke from Piltover Peacemaker. That makes her really strong in Teamfights because Assasins like Diana or Akali can't burst her down quickly. She can stay in a safe zone behind her Support and Tank, but still deals a lot of damage with her AA's. She can chase down low-health enemys with her ultimate Ace in the Hole.


Caitlyn is a very safe AD-Carry because she provides long range Auto-Attacks and nice poke. You can carry your team in Solo Queue 5v5 because you can farm easily and bully the ADC from the enemys out of lane with your long range. Champions like Vayne, Miss Fortune and Twitch will have a hard time to lane against you. But they can beat you in mid-game.

Greater Mark of Attack Damage: This gives you some nice AD for the laning phase, it allows you to trade with the oponnents carry. It also provides some nice damage with Headshot your Passive and Piltover Peacemaker.

Greater Seal of Armor: Add some nice armor to the laning-, mid- and lategame. It's also very good if they got a bruiser like Zed, Kha'Zix or Pantheon in the opponents team.

Greater Glyph of Magic Resist: I prefer this everytime because if they got an AP-Support like Sona, Lulu or Leona in their team you take less damage from them.

Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage: It provides some nice AD which help you in your lane and the hole game. It's like Greater Mark of Attack Damage.

Barrier: I really prefer it on Caitlyn because it can save you in lane and in teamfights. It's a must have if the enemey has someone like Zed or Pantheon.

Flash: Can save you from sticky situations and can provide kills. One of the best summoner-spells in this game at a must have for Caitlyn cause the lack of her mobility.

Heal: Annother viable Summoner-spell for Caitlyn I don't really need it but its a good spell for beginners.

Ignite: Very nice spell too, can save kills for you in lane and in Teamfights. But i prefer Barrier instead of it.

Berserker's Greaves:
Gives you 20% Attack speed which allows you to attack faster, I think it's a must have for Caitlyn.

Phantom Dancer:
The reason why I don't get Statikk Shiv is that PD's late-game power is better. Statikk Shiv is very nice in mid-game cause it provides a nice power to push lanes quickly. But Phantom Dancer gives you 50% Attack speed, 30% critical strike chance and you can go through minions, teammates and so on. Statikk Shiv gives you only 40% Attack speed, 20% critical strike chance and the passive from it.

Infinity Edge:
Gives you +50% Critical strike damage, 70 Attack damage, 25% critical strike chance. One of the best late-game items and a must have for ADCs like Caitlyn. Your crits will hurt the opponent so much.

Last Whisper:

Why Last Whisper and not Black Cleaver?

Because Last Whisper let you ignore 35% of the targets armor. Black Cleaver reduces the armor of the enemy. InS3, the new meta changed some things. One thing is that the Items Locket of the Iron Solari, Randuin's Omen, Sunfire Aegis and Warmog's Armor become more popular on champions. This gives them a lot of armor, most of the time, more then 100. So, with Last Whisper you can ignore 35% of this armor which is huge. It also gives you 40 extra attack damage. Annother thing is that Caitlyn only needs to AA the whole time, so she doesn't need Cooldown redcution from Black Cleaver.

Frozen Mallet:
Frozen mallet is a nice item for Caitlyn, it gives her 700 Health which increases the survivability in Teamfights, it also gives you 30 attack damage. This makes you very strong.
The passive from Frozen Mallet slowes the enemys movement speed when you AA them, with Caitlyn's huge range she can chase down enemys quickly. It is a very nice item to kite people. You can also buy Warmog's Armor it have nice stats too, it provides 1000 health. But it doesn't give attack damage or a slow. I would prefer Frozen Mallet but you can teach me in the comments!

Blade of the Ruined King:

Why not Bloodthirster instead of Blade of the Ruined King?

Blade of the Ruined King came out in the begining of S3, at this moment it gives you nice stats overall. It provides 25 Attack damage, 40% attack speed, a passive that deals 5% of the opponents current health (very nice because in S3 the new meta is to build tanky) and a active which steals the opponent 15% of their maximum health and some movement speed.

But, why not Bloodthirster, one of the best items for AD-Carrys?

Because Bloodthirster is better for ad-carrys which live from their abilities, examples are Ezreal with his Mystic Shot, Graves with his Buckshot or Collateral Damage. Bloodthirster increases their attack damage and lifesteal with stacks, so their abilities scales of well with Bloodthirster.

But Caitlyn relais on her auto-attacks, yeah Bloodthirster will increase them but Blade of the Ruined King gives 5% of the opponents current health as extra damage. It also gives a nice kite ability. Say to me what you think about it at the comments! Blade of the Ruined King or Bloodthirster?

Taric: He's the best support for Caitlyn at the moment. One thing is that he increases your armor with Shatter. Annother thing is that Dazzle is a stun which allows you to win trades with him easily. He can heal you up with Imbue and gives you AD and AP for 10 seconds with Radiance. That is why I prefer Taric as support when playing Caitlyn.

Lulu: She is a very nice support for you too, because she can harass the enemys with Glitterlance while you can sit back and farm you up. With Whimsy she provides you 20 AP when she is level 1 with it. It saves you from ganks also. Her Help, Pix! gives you a nice shield and pix helps you with some nice auto-attacks from him. She can cast it on enemys for more harass. Wild Growth gives you a bunch of HP and a slow arround you. She is a really nice support for Caitlyn too.

Nunu & Willump: He recieved some nerfs weaks ago which makes him a little bit less strong in lane. But with his Blood Boil is he very strong with Caitlyn. The movement- and attackspeed allows it Caitlyn to farm her up easily, bully the enemy out of lane with auto-attacks and push very quickly. (Destroying turrets is good because the enemys lose vision, you recieve 150 gold and you can focus on Objects like the Dragon and Baron Nashor. Nunu & Willump is still a support for you.

Alistar: Alistar is a situational support, when the lane of enemys is very strong (like Graves and Taric together) Alistar is a nice support, cause he can knock back the enemy with Headbutt which makes him quite useless in trades and you are save. He can also get agressive with his Headbutt- Pulverize combo. He is a nice bodyguard in teamfights because he gots so much CC to defend you. A very nice support for ya.

Blitzcrank: He becomes more and more popular, he can provide kills with his Rocket Grab but he can save you with it too. A nice combo for Caitlyn and Blitzcrank is Rocket Grab -> Yordle Snap Trap -> Power Fist (enemy gets snared by Yordle Snap Trap) -> Piltover Peacemaker (easy to land it while enemy is snared) -> Some AA's from both -> Then end it with Ace in the Hole! Remember: Blitzcrank should use Static Field because the silence denie a Flash from them. Overall a nice support for Caitlyn

Janna: Janna is a very defensive support which allows you to farm you up easy and quickly, in ganks she can use Howling Gale for the knock up and Zephyr for the slow. Janna is also nice when the enemys get a gank because she gaves you Eye of the Storm which provides nice AD stats and a temporally shield which block incoming damage. She can also knock away enemys and heal you with Monsoon.

Lux: Lux is a nice support too, she brings nice CC and a temporally shield with her. A deadly combo with Caitlyn is this: Light Binding -> Yordle Snap Trap -> Piltover Peacemaker -> Lucent Singularity -> some AA from Caitlyn and one AA from Lux cause of the Illumination debuff and the extra magic damage -> Final Spark -> end it with Ace in the Hole! Nice support for Caitlyn overall. Remember: In trades Lux should use Prismatic Barrier to save you from incoming damage.

Nami: I didn't tested her out so much, but what can I say is that she is a really nice support for you too. Her Aqua Prison gives you the change to set down a Yordle Snap Trap and some AAs she is really nice to harass the enemy and saving kills in lane for ganks. I think her ult Tidal Wave should get a shorter duration of the animation!

Zyra: She is a nice support with huge CC. Her Grasping Roots allows you to set down a Yordle Snap Trap easily. She can deal some nice damage to enemys with her full combo. She can save you in lane easy with Stranglethorns. She can also use her Rampant Growth for some vision and make them into attacking flowers with Grasping Roots and deadly bloom. Nice support for Caitlyn overall.

Leona: Leona is a very nice support, she allows you to farm up and protect you in trades. She also got much CC cause of Shield of Daybreak and Solar Flare she can innitiate well with Zenith Blade. Very nice support for Cait, too. Remember: With Eclipse she gets some nice armor and magic resist so she can soke up all the damage from the enemys in trades.

Soraka: She is the best support if you want to have sustain to soke up all the money from the creeps, she gives you heals and mana whenever she can. She can also use Infuse to silence an enemy which is very useful on Graves. With Wish she can save other Teammates at other lanes which is really nice. But I think Soraka is better for Graves, Ezreal, Corki and Kog'Maw.

Thresh: He cames out a short time before and he is decent, his power in-lane is unbeatable. One Death Sentence into an Flay + The Box is enough to burst down a enemy carry alone. His gank power is also quite nice. With Dark Passage he can bring the friendly jungler in the best position to gank. He hits on Death Sentence and your enemy carry will be dead. Thresh is one of the best supports I think at the moment.

Zilean: I can't say much about him. His ultimate Chronoshift is very nice for you in teamfights. He got some nice poke with Time Bomb and Rewind in a combo. His slow Time Warp is also quite nice.

Nidalee: It gives bad and good supp Nidalee's. You will see it in the game. A good nidalee will poke around with Javelin Toss and heal you up with Primal Surge. She should pick up an early philosopher's stone for the sustain and the constant poke. A Tear of the Goddess is also ok, but she should buy supp-items like Aegis of the Legion, Locket of the Iron Solari, Shurelya's Battlesong and stuff. At last item a Archangel's Staff is okay. When she reaches Level 6 and gets Aspect Of The Cougar she should roam around and set sight ward's. Full AP Nidalee's are useless as support.
