AA=Auto-attack
AD=Attack damage
ADC=Attack Damage Carry, a position usually played by marksman in the bottom lane. They are normally very squishy, but they deal lots of damage, mostly with their auto-attacks.
AoE=Area of Effect
AP=Ability power
AS=Attack speed
Blue/Red buff=The
Crest of Insight and the
Crest of Cinders buffs given to you by the
Ancient Golem and
Lizard Elder respectively.
Buff=A positive effect applied to a champion.
CC=Crowd Control
CDR=Cooldown Reduction
CS=Creep score/farm, or the number on minions you've killed.
Gank=To ambush one or more enemies
Gap Closer=A spell or ability which reduces the distance between the champion and enemy
Hard cc=CC such as stuns, knockups, suppressions, etc.
LS=Life-steal
MR=Magic resist
Mana pool=the maximum amount of mana that you have.
OOM=Out of mana
Pre/Post-6=Before or after you get to level 6, which is a key power spike for most champions, because that's when they can get their ultimate ability.
Proc = The activation of an effect
Soft cc=CC that does not interrupt channeled abilities such as
Nunu & Willump's
Absolute Zero and
Katarina's
Death Lotus. An example would be slows.
Ult=Ultimate ability, or your R. It often has a longer cooldown, but deals more damage than your other abilities. Most can only be upgraded at levels 6, 11, and 16.
