Greater Mark of Precision

9 Armor Penetration + 5.1 Magic Penetration: I really recommend you these, because there is nothing better for Jungle Evelynn, who has to clear her jungle and who has to do a lot magic damage when ganking or in combat. There is no big difference between 5.1 and 8.5 Magic Penetration (9x Greater Mark of Magic Penetration) and that is why we do not have to use flat Magic Penetration marks. With our masteries we have +10% Armor Pen. + 11 Armor Pen. That is completely enough to clear our jungle effectively.


6x SPACE + SPAC 3x
Greater Mark of Desolation 10 Armor Penetration + 2.8 Attack damage: If you do not have 9x Greater Mark of Precision then this combination is great and also more effective for clearing your jungle but the missing magic penetration makes your ganks less effective...

5x/6x SPA + SP 4x/3x
Greater Mark of Desolation 8.3/10 Armor Penetration + 3.8/2.8 Magic Penetration: If you do not have 9x Greater Mark of Precision then you could mix your flat Penetration marks, which I only support when you want to try out my guide but still do not have enough IP to buy 9x Greater Mark of Precision...

Not recommended:

8.5 Attack damage: We get more from Penetration marks than from Attack damage marks...

15% Attack Speed: These are even worse than flat Attack Damage marks...

Do NOT use at all:

Greater Mark of Desolation 15 Armor Penetration: is for the purpose of clearing our jungle fast and playing hybrid Evelynn unsuitable, because of the following reasons:
1. In that case we have with our masteries 10% Armor Pen. + 17 Armor Pen. But our jungle monsters have maximal 20 armor. That is unnecessarily for them...
2. AD Evelynn is really ineffective and if you want to follow this guide, then better do not take that much Armor Penetration... Otherwise you should play her only AD and fail...

8.5 Magic Penetration: These are not fitting in any way in the jungle, because monsters do not have any Magic Resistance... That is as good as taking no marks... These marks are only a good option for a laning Evelynn...

8.4% Crit Chance: 8.4% is like having to hit 11 times until you land possibly a critical hit... It is almost like you have no marks at all.


13 Armor: Haha, you really think that I have to explain that? Without Armor Runes you will have a hard time while jungling :P


10.7 Ability Power: Ability Power is the source of Evelynn's Power. Of course we are taking these.


28 Ability Power at level 18: When having a team which lets you jungle without having to gank until level 6, then take these glyphs.

24 Magic Resistance at level 18: If you want to play Evelynn more tanky (maybe with my alternative mastery page) then take these glyphs.

For my Build:

So why did I chose the AP and not the AP p/lvl runes?
Because you need that 10.7 AP in the beginning! With Ap p/lvl runes you would have that amount not before level 7 and that is the crucial point.

Why not MR p/lvl runes to improve your viability?
The answer is simple: Because we need the early damage so that our ganks have greater impact!


15 Ability Power: The AP quints are the best for Evelynn.


4.5% Movement Speed: You should use these in combination with my alternative Mastery Page...

That's my Mastery Page. To get it to this point I needed to test a lot around with my runes and the masteries. I do not know how many custom games I started to test every little change, but I do know that I played a lot custom games. The only thing I can tell you now is that I think that for my evelynn build there are no better masteries than these.

You should try this Mastery Page when you still have to become friend with evelynn or when you are totally unfamiliar with such a playing style.

0 Offense

21 Defense:

1x Summoner's Resolve : Improved Smite!

3x Hardiness : A jungler needs armor :)

2x Tough Skin : Excellent option for more viability in our jungle.

1x Bladed Armor : Jungle Monsters say: "Oh f**k, it is Eve"

3x Vigor : Health Regeneration: Means more viability!

3x Evasion : Damage Reduction is great especially because AoE damage likes to f**k Eve a lot!!!

1x Indomitable : Damage Reduction!

3x Initiator : More Movement Speed!

3x Honor Guard : Damage Reduction! Damage Reduction! Damage Reduction!

1x Juggernaut : More Health and less CC impacts.

9 Utility:

1x Summoner's Insight : Improved Flash/Teleport, which you should use for this Build.

3x Expanded Mind : MANA! We need Mana ;)

4x Swiftness : More Movement Speed!

1x Runic Affinity : Greatly Increased Buff Duration! I like this!

For this Mastery Page I recommend these runes:

9x Greater Mark of Precision

9x Greater Seal of Armor

9x Greater Glyph of Ability Power / 9x Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist


3x Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed

So we have with at least 70% Health: 9.5% extra Movement Speed!
Under 70% Health we have 6.5% extra Movement Speed, which is still a huge Boost.
This and the increased viability make it easier for Newcomers to play with Evelynn. Evelynn is a mainstream champ, which everybody should be able to play with.

And personally i think that this Mastery Page has a lot Potential for a new Evelynn guide!
Here you dont have any Borders for a lot new and great experiences with Evelynn!

But let’s continue with my recommended build now^^

Recommended Item Build:

Starting Items:

Cloth Armor and 5x Health Potion: We are the jungler we need this first. When going first time back we should have at least 765 gold for our Boots of Speed and Long Sword. But sometimes it can happen that our first gank failed(now we are low-life and have to go b) or that their jungler counter jungles, so that we do not have that much money when going first time back... Then we always take first Boots of Speed with us, no matter what.
After we gathered enough gold for Madred's Razors we should be now very fast at clearing our jungle and we shouldn’t spend so much mana anymore for our q when farming.

Core Items:

Wriggle's Lantern: Before we get our Boots of Mobility we head for Wriggle's Lantern because we will profit a lot from the Life Steal and the excellent active. There is no other item which could replace Wriggle's.
Boots of Mobility: At this point we need Mobility to hunt down our victims!
Sheen: After we got Sheen our damage is greatly increased!

At this point the items vary depending on their team, their items and your success.

Item Build No. 1:

When having lot problems (like starting to feed/falling behind), because the enemy champs counter you / because they have a lot vision wards and oracles / when the enemies hate you at this point etc... Then get as soon as possible Guardian Angel!
Otherwise we continue our build with Athene's Unholy Grail. I recommend to get first Fiendish Codex. Athene's Unholy Grail is excellent for Evelynn, because Eve is the most mana hungry champion I know. With it we can tell them: "Bye bye mana problems". Besides that we get a lot AP, a lot CDR and some MR!!! That is everything we need. When I saw this item being released, I thought that they released it only for Evelynn :)
After we have our Athene's Unholy Grail we go for Trinity Force. I recommend to get first Phage, but it is no big deal to get first Zeal before it.
It is late game now and we should buy Guardian Angel so we can initiate team fights without too many risks.
Then we buy Abyssal Mask to assist our team, to be more save from enemy abilities and for some extra damage. At this point we also could decide for Banshee's Veil, but I personally prefer Abyssal Mask because I think that such a passive spell shield won’t help that much...
If the game is still not decided then we have to buy something for more damage! We sell our Wriggle's Lantern and buy a Hextech Gunblade.
With that build we should be able to beat every champ in a 1on1.

Recommended Item Build when having a tanky team and being a very experienced Eve Player:

Item Build No. 2:

This Item Build is designed for lot damage. We buy Guardian Angel first in late game because we need to carry our tanky team as early as possible...

This is what it looks like when playing with this build:

Recommended Item Build for experienced Eve Players:

Item Build No. 3:

It is similar to Item Build No. 1 but instead of Athene's Unholy Grail we buy Nashor's Tooth and we buy Abyssal Mask before we buy Guardian Angel. This means we will deal more damage but we will still have mana problems.

P.S. I would also love to see people mixing these item builds and not only using them^^

Optionial/Situational Items:

A nice Item for Evelynn, but i prefer other, because this Item lacks strength in late game.
Perfect when they have much CC.
Buy this Item instead Abyssal Mask when they have lot CC or...
...or you buy this Item instead Abyssal Mask.
Buy these Boots when they have a full CC team.

Not recommended Items:

Malady too weak
Guinsoo's Rageblade passive is useless when they have some CC...
Ionic Spark Bad for Hybrid Champs/AP Champs
Manamune Really weak...
Archangel's Staff Needs too much time to be effective enough for its cost...

I think this is self-explanatory...

1. q because it is evelynn's most effective spell for damage over time, her e is only burst damage with a lot mana costs.
2. e because when having blue we can use it to clear our jungle faster.
3. w now we are ready for our first ganks.

... then Max e but on level 5 I take w because I don’t like only 10 sec stealth because they are not enough for a good gank. 20 sec are perfect in the beginning for a good gank.
... after having 3 points in w, I add 2 points in q for increasing my damage, because now we should not have that much mana problems anymore.
...after that I max my w first then I max my q on level 18.
Of course I choose with level 6, 11 and 16 my r...

As I said already I think that this is quite self-explanatory...

Summoner Spells

Recommended Spells:

Jungle Evelynn! Of course we take this spell!

I love ignite; I am sure you love it too. Thanks to our masteries we get 5 AD and 5 AP by using it early on the blue golem. This spell is excellent for Jungle Evelynn because her Jungle benefits a lot from the 5 AP bonus.

Recommended but not optimal for Evelynn:

If you can jungle well without ignite, then I really recommend you exhaust. This spell is a guarantee for your first gank to succeed!

If you can jungle well without ignite and if you want to have a guarantee for your escape, then take flash!

If you can jungle well without ignite and if you want to be very mobile (like ignoring unit collision), then take ghost!

Conditionally recommended:

Worth it, when the enemy team has a lot CC.

When their team completely lacks any CC, then take this spell. Otherwise forget it!

Yes, Evelynn has mana problems... but not that much that you would take this every time you play her. We are an assassin, not a supporter. Besides that we play Jungle Evelynn and we always will get the first 2 blues...

Sometimes this spell can be very useful, but it won’t help you actually in fights or when your teammates didn’t place some wards for you to gank... So take it only when you have made up a plan with your mates.

Take this spell when no one else has it...

Not recommended:

You are Evelynn! You don't need that at all.

Most useless spell in game...

When wanting to troll around, take this spell...

Jungling & Ganking/Teamwork & Tips

It is boring to explain this because I uploaded replays which explain everything perfectly...
But I will write some important things you have to consider when jungling and ganking.

1. Evelynn is very mana hungry and that means that she needs to get in a normal balanced game at least the first 3 blues. So be sure when picking eve that you inform your mates about that.
2. When watching my replays pay attention to my positioning when jungling. It is important that you see how you can effectively farm the jungle. The positioning is important because of your q. The first aim gets 100% of the damage and the second nearest enemy unit gets only 50% of the damage. So be sure to stay always as close as possible to the biggest monster which you attack to be effective.
3. When you have your e and blue buff then use your e always first on the biggest monster. That increases your effectiveness. Without the blue buff, you should only use your e when having a lot mana or no mana problems anymore... As soon as you have you have Wriggle's there won’t be any need for e on the monsters...
4. You should gank as soon as possible with level 3.
5. When ganking always be aware of your mate’s strengths and of your opponents spells. If your mate lacks the strength to help you to strike the opponent down, it is likely that the gank ends in failure. If your opponent has got spells like flash, ghost or exhaust, he could escape easily. So make sure that you take him down in no time with your mate.
6. Make your mates clear that you will engage first and that they shouldn’t scare the victim away by moving offensively towards it as like they are invisible...
7. Always be aware of the map and tell your mates that they should pay attention to the items of the opponents. It helps discovering pink wards.
8. Ward the dragon and baron with Wriggle's.
9. When you want to port back: Press first w then b. There you go invisible home^^
10. When they bought an oracle, then always ask your teammates to take that champion as early as possible down.
11. SHEN + EVELYNN = OP GANKS! Shen can use his ulti on you while you are invisible!
12. Dont play vs Twisted Fate... His ulti blows your cover.
13. Dont play vs Soraka... Her q is usable while you are invisible.
14. Dont take all kills, best is always to feed the carries.

When i can think of more i will add it later here.

We always attack the big monsters first!
Jungle Order:
1. Blue
2. Wolves
3. Wraiths
- We skip the small golems, because we would lose too much health on them this early. But if we had a good pull and if we have not lost that much health, then we should also do the Small Golems.
4. Red <- Before we start attacking the Red we wait until we have 240 mana, so we can take the red as fast as possible down without having mana problems.
- GANK after Red!
5. When there is not an opportunity for a gank then continue with wolves.
6. Wraiths

8. Gank / Wolves and B

Pros & Cons / Evelynn is balanced!

I can tell you that Evelynn is NOT underpowered. I played her for more than 3 months now...
She has a slightly disadvantage early game against other champs. But in mid game she is as strong as any other champ. And then in late game she often surpasses a lot other champs!
She is designed to be most effective when being good in teamwork.
I compared her stats with the stats of some other champions. That is my result:
