Pros / Cons

Pros :
More skill = more outplay potential no matter what
Bully to farm reliant laners, great pusher with new W
Good initiator with the new big shark

Cons :
Takes a while to get used to
Some top lane match-ups can be uncomfortable early (Pantheon, Quinn)

Items and my input

Colors -
Yellow - Sure
Purple - Meh
Red - No
Sheen - This item is the bread and butter for Fizz, because of the amount of extra damage you get after every spell, buy it every game, Lich Bane, Iceborn, Trinity Force, one of those get built of sheen, but get a sheen item, every, single, game.

Lich Bane - Get it every time you're playing full AP Fizz, Would never recommend in a bruiser build (Iceborn and Triforce are better for bruiser)
Trinity Force - This item is excellent on Tank or Bruiser Fizz, the problem is the high cost, have to cs very well, if you're not a good cser i'd just buy Iceborn instead.
Iceborn Gauntlet - This item is great for the current meta, it's very cheap and gives you your sheen effect, some armor, and a great amount of mana, would buy in an even competitive game where it's hard to get ahead.
Sunfire Cape - This item is so good on top lane Fizz, you get so much pushing and sustain power from Bami's Cinder, and the magic damage from the flames help you in duels, would get every single game on top lane.
Nashor's Tooth - ah well, this is a nice item, but the problem is that you only get 6 slots, if you want attack speed just get Trinity Force, you get a sheen effect, some hp, some movement speed, and then attack speed all in one item, would only get this item as a 5th when buying Iceborn and team has low amount of dps, Hextech and Hourglass are much better options, even BoTRK is better because it gives you sustain.
Rylai's Crystal Scepter - Ah well, this is another only 6 slots case on Fizz, there are much better things, I can see this working in a fun AP+HP build, but if you want slows, just get Iceborn Gauntlet, save yourself a slot by having both sheen effects, mana, armor, and a slow in 1 item.
Liandry's Tornemnt - I can see this working in a magic penetration or AP+HP build, would build it very rarely maybe 1% of the time when I need some magic pen and sustain at the same time for 1 slot. It can work, but there are better items.

Summoners and my input

Ignite - So this is a pretty good SS on Fizz, because of the early game W+Ignite Cheese, for top lane you can combine, but I would never take In top lane, although I would in mid lane.

Teleport - This is a very good SS on Fizz, in either mid or top, mid works because you get harassed so hard against some meta-mages.
and top lane because well... you're a top laner.
Flash - This is a must escape spell on most champions, but Fizz doesn't really need it, although it's great to have a second escape, I would take it if enemy jungler is someone mobile who would usually take ghost.
Heal - ah well, this is pretty classic, I can see it working with mid lane along with, I'd only take it MID lane and maybe when enemy jungler and support are immobile and enemy laner is something like Syndra where I can heal her ult.

Barrier - haha, this used the be the summoner to go for Fizz back in seasons 2 and 3, I'd take it Mid lane only against Diana and Zed.
Ghost - This can work, I still see dedicated Fizz players using this instead of flash in mid lane, it can also work top lane, I actually think it's a better way to escape ganks in top lane if you're overextended, flash isn't gonna do much, you can E past walls.

Early game

If you're facing a lane bully, last hit minions, if you're the bully, shove lane with empowered W and ward your bush.
I'd avoid trading until level 5, and of course level 6 is a huge powerspike you should be looking to make plays.

Middle Game

Middle game you should have your core items, you can tp bot (if lane is pushed and ur lane partners are present of course) and dive if you have a bami's cinder, tank some tower shots and then trollpole and kill both of them.

If you're behind farm for some 8 minutes and get tank items.

Late Game + Team-fights

[AP]
As AP Fizz Top, he plays more of a zed role now but with initiation, you want to be mostly a split pushing superpower (like a Jax, but useful), and at the same time, you want to be your team's initiator with your big shark.

If enemy team is ahead, you want to push side lanes in order to increase length of game, then you want to stick to your ADC while enemy team is unaware of you following him, stay out of enemy vision.

In team-fights you want to start by throwing the shark from the longest distance (longer distance = bigger shark) then stay back and wait for team to decrease enemy team's HP, you should be back with your ADC, if anyone is coming to him, use your Q and wait for the poison bar to fill up, then use W and E if necessary to slow. look for enemy APC and ADC, they should be low hp by now, Kill them.

[CLASSIC]
You're a % HP melting superpower, target the same people that your ADC is attacking.

[Tank]
In team fights, You want to auto attack a target that is going for your Squishy, most likely ADC . For example, a Renekton is dashing towards your ADC, you want to throw the shark at him, basic attack him for an sheen proc, wait until the poison bar is filled up, then W him with the sheen proc, wait a bit then Q again for another sheen proc, only E if necessary and auto for another sheen proc.
You can also force team fights if ahead, which is what most tank fizzes do, find enemy adc and just soak all the damage from their backline, let the rest of your team kill everyone else.

If team is safe later on the team-fight it is time for finishing, if you took flash, you can E + Flash, if not, you can E + Q with no worries since you're very tanky and can most likely 1v1 their adc, if the fight is in a lane you can Q to a minion then E to gap close.
