Hi and welcome to my 5th..6th..or..I forgot how many guides I have lol. Anyways welcome to my Singed guide. Before I explain who Singed is I wanna say a few things about me. If you like my guides and want to contact me for some reason here are some ways to do it:

Okay then. About Singed. Singed is at the moment very underplayed in my opinion but despite that he is a super strong champion and can go against pretty much everyone (at top lane). Singed can be built in a number of ways but with my build you will become an ap offtank bruiser/fighter. Keep in mind that my build is for top lane so if you're looking for a mid/jungle/support Singed guide then I'm afraid you'll have to use another one. Here is what you will learn while reading this guide:

1) What runes, masteries, summoner spells and items you need to succeed with Singed.
2) What your skills do, how to use them and what to use them for.
3) My playstyle with Singed and why I go for such a playstyle.

Pros / Cons

Pros:
+ Can go against almost anyone
+ Great CC especially with Rylai's Crystal Scepter
+ Gets kills by running around
+ Even when behind you can still win with Catalyst
+ Sustained damage
+ Very fast thanks to Move Speed Quints, Ghost and his Ultimate
+ Doesn't necessarily need tank items to be tanky thanks to his Ultimate
+ Best laugh in the game (SPAM IIIIT!!!)

Cons:
- No burst damage
- Mana Hungry early on
- Bald (almost lol)

Greater Mark of Magic Penetration

Standard marks for Singed. I play Singed as an AP Fighter and in order to fight I need more fighting power. That's where these marks come in. They just improve your damage.

Greater Seal of Armor

You're a Top Laner so normally you'll meet a lot of AD Bruisers at top. These help in making you tankier so you can negate some of their damage.

Greater Glyph of Ability Power

These are pretty good and help me out. My playstyle revolves around being aggressive early on if I feel like I can play that way so these help me in dealing some nice damage to the enemy Top Laner. AP per lvl Glyphs also work well but don't grant as much AP early on so only get them if you prefer being aggressive later on instead of early game.

Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed

These are so good on Singed because his early game is his weakest period in the game and these can save your life or get you a kill in certain situations. You could replace these with Flat AP Quints if you want even more damage early on but I prefer having more utility than damage in case I need to play passive. Flat AP Quints are better for easy lane match-ups.

Masteries



Offense - The only thing I get here is the improved Ghost and Ignite mastery since Ghost is a must on Singed and Ignite is standard (but can be replaced with Exhaust or Teleport)

Defense - The defense tree is the one I focus on the most after the Preseason 3 patch. This tree is really good on Singed right now. The only flaw is that with my runes you'll start out with 30..something Magic Resist (33 I think but not sure) so if you do end up facing a magical damage dealer at top you might find that you're taking more damage than you should be. Other than that this tree is awesome.

Utility - Not a lot to take here. I just grab the mana regeneration cause Singed is mana starved early on. That's it.

Summoner Spells


Ghost
I consider this Summoner Spell a must for Singed. He is good at chasing or running so having this will boost your movement speed by A LOT. Also this combined with your Ultimate will let you dive the enemy carries without even caring about the enemy team. Use this Summoner well because it is your strongest one.


Ignite
One of the two secondary spells I consider really good on Singed. Ignite gives you a lot of fighting power and the ability to shut down healing abilities like Dr.Mundo's Ultimate or Volibear's Passive.


Teleport
A replacement for Ignite. It grants you a lot of split pushing power and it creates global pressure. I would consider chosing this over Ignite in a pre-made team game. In Solo Queue however just stick with Ignite. With wrong team synergy Teleport can be used very poorly so I wouldn't recomment it when playing with random people.

Skill Explanation


Empowered Bulwark

Singed receives 25% of his max mana as bonus health.


Pretty nice passive and the reason why I rush a Sapphire Crystal early on. Because it gives me both the mana to harass and fight and some extra hp thanks to this passive. Buying mana items can give you a lot of hp which is why you'll have around 3,000 hp just with Rylai's and Rod of Ages on you.





Poison Trail

Toggle: Singed leaves a trail of poison behind him that lasts for 3.25 seconds. Enemies caught in the path will be dealt magic damage each second for 3 seconds. Continual exposure renews the poison.

Cost: 13 Mana Per Second
Magic Damage Per Second: 22 / 34 / 46 / 58 / 70 (+ 30% AP)
Total Magic Damage: 66 / 102 / 138 / 174 / 210 (+ 90% AP)
Cloud Radius: 20



Your main source of damage on Singed. This ability is the reason why you get kills just from running around. If they chase you foolishly they will eventually die to your Poison Trail. This skill combined with Rylai's Crystal Scepter makes Singed one of if not the hardest champion to chase/catch. Don't overuse this in laning phase or you will run out of mana fast. If you have blue buff feel free to walk with it toggled on at all times but remember that enemies will be able to track you if they are nearby and see your poison.





Mega Adhesive

Active: Creates a pool of mega adhesive on the ground that lasts 5 seconds, causing all enemies who touch it to be slowed as long as they are in the adhesive and for 1 second once they are out of it.

Range: 1000
Cooldown: 14
Cost: 70 / 80 / 90 / 100 / 110 Mana
Slow: 35% / 45% / 55% / 65% / 75%
Diameter: 350 (estimate)



This is one of your 2 forms of CC (not counting Rylai's + Q). I normally grab 1 point in it at lvl 3 just to have all of my abilities but I max it last. At max rank it actually has a really strong slow so use this spell wisely. It can potentially change the way a team fight is heading.





Fling

Active: Flings an enemy behind Singed, dealing magic damage to them.

Range: 125
Cooldown: 10
Cost: 100 / 110 / 120 / 130 / 140 Mana
Magic Damage: 100 / 150 / 200 / 250 / 300 (+ 100% AP)



Your 2nd CC ability. It flings an enemy behind you. The range on this spell is pretty short so you might have trouble getting used to it. Some say this is mainly used for the utility but it actually does a lot of damage at level 1 and it has a high ap ratio which is why I grab it at level 1 and max it 2nd. Use this ability to get enemies out of position, for harass or to get kills. Remember to not Fling enemies when they are about to be hit by a skillshot used by your teammate.





Insanity Potion

Active: Singed drinks a potent brew of chemicals, enhancing his ability power, armor, magic resistance, movement speed, health and mana regeneration per 5 seconds as well as gaining crowd control reduction. Lasts 25 seconds.

Cooldown: 100
Cost: 150 Mana
Stats Enhancement: 35 / 50 / 65
Crowd Control Reduction: 10% / 15% / 20%



This Ultimate is...PRETTY DAMN AWESOME!! It lets you get tankier without getting tank items and helps you dive at their carries way more easily. With this and your ghost you can be a pain in the *** for the enemy team just by sticking on to them and making them focus you while your team kills them. The cooldown might seem a bit long to you but I don't really think it's that long.

I get E at level 1 because it deals the most damage at level 1 out of all your abilities and allows for some amazing level 1-2 flings that get kills. Then I get Q for obvious reasons and then I get W at level 3 just in case I need the slow. After that I just max Q because it is my main source of damage, then E because it also deals nice damage and finally I max W. Obviously I get R whenever possible.

Items

Keep in mind that the item build you will see here is not the one I use every game. I always look at their team first and then decide. In here I will tell you what items I consider core and what items you can get depending on the enemy team

Core Items



Mercury's Treads

I buy these boots most of the time I play Singed because of the CC Reduction. The Magic Resist is also nice but the CC is the reason why you would wanna get these. Combined with ghost and your Ulti (which also grants CC Reduction) these boots will let you dive an enemy carry just like an Irelia player would.




catalyst the protector

Catalyst the Protector

The MOST important item on Singed in my opinion. I consider this time a must for any Singed player. It grants amazing lane sustain, it's not that expensive for what it provides and it gives Singed a **** ton of health thanks to his passive. I get this item as soon as I can in almost every Singed game I have.





Hextech Revolver

I have found that by going Banshee's Veil which is built out of a Catalyst and by just taking this and building it into a WOTA you'll still have the AP Rod of Ages provides but you'll also have more sustain. I usually build my WOTA later on but I get this early in the game for the sustain. It's pretty good in my opinion. Rod of Ages is still good but I prefer this now.





Rylai's Crystal Scepter

This item gives you a lot of health, some extra ability power which boosts your damage and most importantly it's pretty much like a boost for your Q. With this your Q will slow all enemies that walk into it which makes chasing or escaping Singed really hard.



Optional Items


Ninja Tabi - You wanna get these only if you're against a hard AD Bruiser Match-Up or if you're behind him. They'll help out a lot. You can sell them later on once you're tankier to get your Merc Treads.

Sunfire Aegis - Provides nice defensive stats and gives you a nice AoE damage over time effect.

Randuin's Omen - A very nice defensive item against AD Bruisers and Carries. The active also brings even more CC to Singed's kit. I usually get this when I'm initiating for my team. That way I can pop ghost and ulti, run at their team and pop the active to slow them all down.

Frozen Heart - Only get this item when the enemy AD Carry has a lot of attack speed. This combined with Randuin's will make the enemy AD Carry tickle you.

Thornmail - Not the best item on Singed but it's great against champions that only right-click like Tryndamere, Master Yi or Sion.

Rabadon's Deathcap - Only when you're completely dominating and need even more damage.

Guardian Angel - I usually get this only if it gets to late game and I absolutely need an extra life.

Banshee's Veil - Since Force of Nature got removed you can just take this instead of it since it builds out of Catalyst and it provides defense against Magic Damage and a spell shield that blocks 1 spell when it's not on cooldown.

Rod of Ages - Still a good item but I think the WOTA + Banshee's Veil combo gives way more and makes not getting this worth it.

Abyssal Mask - Good item if you're winning and you wanna keep it that way.

Laning Phase, Farming and Team Fights

In this chapter we'll talk a bit about Singed's weak *** early game and I'll also give out some tips for farming and what you can do in team fights. Let's begin!

Laning Phase



Singed's weak early game isn't really in early game if you succeed in what I usually do. Singed is very fragile the first 5 levels before he gets his ultimate. You're melee and you don't really have anything to fight the enemy laner with since you're AP and your auto attacks are weak. However I have a solution to that but if you fail you better pray that your team does well cause if they don't then you've pretty much lost the game unless you make some kind of big comeback.

So what I usually do between levels 1-3 is last hit with my auto-attacks but I make sure not to take free damage for a last hit. That way I slowly let the enemy laner push the lane. Once he does push to my turret I see what he's doing. If he's getting a bit closer to my minions it means he wants to last hit them. If that happens I will try to fling him into my tower. It sometimes does succeed and if it does you've passed the weak early game successfully.

However..if it doesn't succeed I simply keep last hitting with my melee attacks and wait for an opening to fling him into my turret. Either way by letting him push the lane I create ganking opportunities for my jungler and I'm safe cause of my turret. Even if I lose farm early on I can easily catch up later due to Singed's awesome ability to take out entire minion waves with Poison Trail.

Once I get my Catalyst it gets way easier. I have tons of mana to spare so I start being a bit more aggressive and I start constantly Flinging the enemy laner for some damage. If he decides to fight back I just turn Positon Trail on so he can take in even more damage and due to Catalyst making me rather tanky early on the enemy laner usually takes more damage than me.

The only thing you need to not do is get way too aggressive and die cause if you do that you can make a comeback once you get your Catalyst but if your teammates are losing too then it'll be very difficult to get back into the game. So make sure you don't derp early game and if you get past it and get your Catalyst fast you'll be having an easier time.



Farming



Farming with Singed is easy later on but is a bit more difficult early on due to his poor early game. You don't have the mana to farm with your Q so you want to last hit with your auto-attacks but be careful because Singed's auto-attacks are very weak. It's easy to last hit caster minions but the melee minions are tougher so you really wanna time your auto-attack correctly when last hitting them.

One cool trick you can pull off when farming is to turn on your Poison Trail for about 2 seconds and spread it around very quickly at low health enemy minions. The poison is a DoT (damage over time) so you won't waste a lot of mana if you turn it on for 2-3 seconds and you'll last hit more easily.




Team Fights



Singed has three roles he can fulfill in team fights:

The Guardian - The first role Singed can fulfill is that of a guardian to the friendly AP and AD Carries. With Rylai's Crystal Scepter you have 3 ways to peel for you carries. One is to place your Mega Adhevise in a way where it will slow down enemy initiators that dive your carries. If the enemy initiators however are very mobile and fast (Irelia for example) you can place it right under your carry. That way the initiator will be slowed down but your carry won't be. The second way to peel is to just Fling anyone who dives/attacks your carry. The third is to constantly slow everyone on the enemy team with your Poison.

The Kamikaze Initiator - The second role Singed can do is that of a diver/initiator. I normally play this role as I find it the most fun and the most challenging. What I do is turn on Ghost and Ulti and directly dive the enemy AD or AP Carry depending on who is more fed and who is more of a threat to my team. Even if I'm not peeling for my carries I'm taking out theirs and I'm drawing pressure from the enemy team. In order for you to succeed at this role you have to able to realize how much punishment you can take and you have to know what the enemy team is capable of just so they can stop you.

The Slacker - Too bored of team fights? Too lazy to team fight? No problem. The third role Singed can fulfill is that of a Split Pusher. Just make sure you run Teleport so you can go to your team's side after pushing their lanes hard. That way even if your team dies you have pushed their lane and they need to defend it. Singed is a great split pusher due to his Q's ability to farm entire minions waves very fast.

Singed's Counters

Singed can go against almost anyone but in my opinion 3 champions counter him super hard. In this chapter I'll give you some tips on what you can do to win or at least survive against these champions:


Jayce is a huge problem for Singed. He can harass the **** out of you early game and if he does so your weak early game gets even weaker which means you won't be able to last hit while he last hits everything and you'll fall behind by a lot.

What you wanna do against this guy is to just let him push and waste all your mana if you have to so you can get as much minions as possible at your tower. Don't fight him at all and play really really safe pre-level 6. Only fight him if your jungler ganks. If not just do this and get catalyst as soon as possible. After Catalyst you can try fighting him but if he's too farmed up just ask your jungler for help or keep farming. You really shouldn't be fighting Jayce if he's ahead of you which he most likely will be because it's very risky. You can beat him once you have Catalyst but if he plays smart he will beat you.



Teemo also counters Singed. He has range on you early on so it's super hard to last hit. If you chase him he's really fast thanks to his W and after level 6 it gets even harder to chase him once he has shrooms placed all around the lane.

Against Teemo you want to farm as best as you can early on and get your Catalyst fast (and if you have enough money a Null-Magic Mantle as well if he's AP Teemo). After level 6 you can fight and outsmart Teemo with a Vision Ward. Place it at the edge of his bush so you can see both the shrooms in the middle of the lane and those in his bush. If you jump him with Ultimate + Ghost he's most likely gonna run like a little bit*h in his bush where there are 1000 shrooms awaiting you. Clear his shrooms with your Vision Ward first and then fight him. You should be able to beat him if you catch him with your combination of Crowd Control Spells.



Kennen is the most annoying little guy ever. If you charge at him with your Ghost + Ulti he'll just use E to get away and if you do reach him he'll just stun you all day.

Do the same with Jayce and Teemo. Farm as best as you can, don't get harassed too much and get your Catalyst fast. You definitely want Merc Treads against this guy. Even with Catalyst I wouldn't recommend fighting him. Only fight him with your jungler. If your jungler doesn't come then just farm, farm, farm..that's all you can do.

Your Special Secret Ultra Mega Super Trolololololo Skill!!

This chapter is the most important chapter of this guide. You.. MUST READ IT!!! You have a special skill..it's very OP and easy to use. Here's how you use it:

1) Click Esc and go to your Key Bindings
2) Find the bind for "Laugh"
3) Change it to your T key
4) Now keep clicking your T key and keep laughing all game

This skill prevents the enemies from dealing tons of damage! Spam it all game!! SPAM IT!!! Even in Team Fights you must continue spamming it. Do this and you WILL win the game. If you do it and you lose then you're not spamming Laugh hard enough.

Fun Facts about Singed

- Singed was designed by both Ezreal (person) and Guinsoo.

- According to Udyr (person), Singed was the first ever champion to be created in the game.

- Singed is possibly a reference to the werewolf chemist in the first Underworld movie.

- Singed's lore shares some similarities with the chemist Fritz Haber. There are also similarities in the ethical implications of both their work.

- Singed was one of the champions chosen for the Noxian pool available during the Ionia vs. Noxus match. He was one of the selected champions.

- Singed's dance is the "Jump on It" dance from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Kayle's dance is similar, but includes the beginning of the dance, where she throws her hands up and to both sides.

- Even though Singed's Poison Trail cloud appear to expand as they fade, the area affected by the poison does not actually increase.

- Singed was Warwick's apprentice in alchemy, until his master was cursed with Lycanthropy by Soraka.

- Singed invented the toxic weapon used on Master Yi's home village. The remains of the village were so horrific that it remains a festering scar on Ionian history. To this day, no Ionian will ever publicly speak of what occurred.

- During an Ionian ambush on Noxian troops, Singed launched a barrage of biochemical terror on both forces. Riven witnessed as around her Ionian and Noxian alike fell victim to an unspeakably gruesome fate.

- Singed and Blitzcrank are on unfriendly terms with one another.

- Singed is commonly teammates with his fellow Zaunites, Warwick and Dr. Mundo, on the Twisted Treeline.

- In the Navori Province of Southern Ionia, Singed was charged with the extermination of an unexpected giant rat infestation. Some suspect that Twitch may have been involved in the rodent invasion.

- Singed is a business partner of Gragas, responsible for supplying him with brewing machinery and hardware.

Summary

Thanks for reading my Singed guide. He is a pretty cheap champion (1350IP) and is definitely worth buying. With Singed you can have a lot of success in Solo Queue and in pre-made teams.
