Introduction

Why when what how Wukong
Hi my Summonors name is Kiyomaros and i will be guiding you my most favorite and best champ i play.
give me Wukong and i will not do bad 90% of the times that i play him!

Why and when Wukong?
When i started league of legends i was searching for a main champion, as i stumbled upon Wukong, the monkey king. When i red his story it reminded me of dragonball Z, He resembles Goku wich makes Master Yi : master rochi xp. i instantly went out to buy him and enjoyed him ever since lvl 1!
Actually i didn't play another champ till i hitted level 30 so it seems reasonable for me to make a guide about him!

What and How Wukong
Wukong is this fierce ape that isn't afraid to dash into combat and get out alive ever so sneaky!
i tried almost everything on wukong from top to bot. i have been tank, Ad, Adcarry, Apcarry, jungle and support i tested his boundries to the limit just because i didn't wanted to play any other champ back then!

Theze videos made me even more fond of Wukong! the djuking is somthing you will have to learn and master to either get away or suprise your enemys!!!

Description and Role

Wukong is an top lane bruiser that can be tanky while dishing out tons of damage. He has one of the best AoE abilities in the game in terms of damage and lots of tricks that can help him kill enemies or escape. This guide is going to be focused on Wukong being a tanky champion that can also do lots of damage to the enemy team.

Lore

During the chaos of the Rune Wars, an enormous runestone was lost deep within the Plague Jungles. It remained there, untouched for centuries, emanating a potent magic which infused nearby wildlife with sentience and vitality. A group of monkeys who were particularly empowered by it came to worship the stone, and their leader - a wise sage - became convinced that he could harness its power to make the monkeys immortal. He performed an elaborate ritual, but things didn't go as he expected. The runestone was destroyed, and instead of granting immortality, it produced Kong, a monkey who carried in his heart the strength and power it had contained. Kong was driven by an unquenchable desire for greatness. He sought out every beast and monster the Plague Jungles could offer, eager to find a worthy opponent, but none offered the challenge he craved. He asked the sage for advice, and learned about a legend of hairless monkeys to the north who, with wits and might, had bent the world to their will.

Wukong left, journeying north, determined to discover if the legend was true. He crossed the Southern Wastes and then the Great Barrier. On his way, he happened upon Master Yi, who was deep in meditation. Kong asked him who the strongest warrior in the north was, and Yi told him about the League of Legends. The tale intoxicated Kong, a place where he could battle the strongest fighters in the world was, to him, paradise. Kong asked Yi to introduce him to this League, and to teach him the ways of humans, so that he could be a fitting champion. In return, he would honor Yi by using Yi's Wuju style to become the greatest warrior Runeterra had ever seen. Admiring his passion, Yi agreed, but under the condition that Kong would one day teach the lessons of Wuju to a pupil of his own. In the spirit of this agreement, he renamed Kong ''Wukong,'' and gave him a weapon suited to his unusual nature - an enchanted staff that the young Doran had crafted. The weapon was an unrivalled masterpiece. Guided by Yi, Wukong joined the League of Legends to prove himself as the best, and to show the world the true power of Wuju.

''Only in combat do you learn who you truly are.''

Abilities

Stone Skin
Increases Wukong's armor and magic resistance for each nearby enemy champion.

Stone Skin makes Wukong inherently hard to kill and even harder to kill when he is a teamfight.

Crushing Blow
Wukong's next attack gains 125 Attack Range, deals 30/60/90/120/150 (+1) physical damage and reduces the enemy's Armor by 30% for 3 seconds.

Cost
40 Mana

Range
650

Cooldown
9/8/7/6/5 Seconds

This ability resets Wukong's auto attack timer and should be used after you auto attack. Crushing Blow puts an armor debuff on whomever it hits, giving almost the effect of a Last Whisper on your opponents.

Warrior Trickster
Wukong becomes invisible for 1.5 seconds. An uncontrollable Warrior Trickster is left behind that will deal 70/115/160/205/250 (+0.6*AP) magic damage to enemies near it after 1.5 seconds.

Cost
50/55/60/65/70 Mana

Range
325

Cooldown
18/16/14/12/10 Seconds

Warrior Trickster is your escape ability. It can also be used to play mind games on your opponent as if you suddenly stop moving for no reason they'll assume that you've decoyed. Generally, they will keep running past you or in the direction they think you have juked, but in fact you're still standing there, giving you ample opportunity to escape.

Nimbus Strike
Wukong dashes toward a target enemy and sends out images to attack up to 2 additional enemies near his target, dealing 60/105/150/195/240 (+0.5) physical damage to each enemy struck. Upon hitting his target, Wukong gains 30/35/40/45/50% Attack Speed for 4 seconds.

Cost
45/50/55/60/65 Mana

Range
650

Cooldown
8/8/8/8/8 Seconds

Nimbus Strike is Wukong's gap closer to get in onto squishy targets. Combined with the effect of Warrior Trickster, he can easily sneak out of nowhere, Nimbus Strike onto a squishy opponent and execute them with Cyclone. It can also be used to escape bad situations if there are enemy minions nearby to target.

Cyclone
Wukong's staff grows outward and he spins it around, dealing 20/110/200/100 (+0) physical damage per second and knocking up enemies he encounters. Wukong gains speed over the duration of the spell. Lasts 4 seconds.

Cost
100 Mana

Range
315

Cooldown
120/105/90 Seconds

Cyclone is a ridiculously high damage ability. It has one of the best scaling damages in the game and why Wukong is so disruptive and deadly in teamfights. If your opponents were to stand in the full duration of the ability they will take excess of 1200 physical damage.

Spells

Flash

Flash is just mandatory on nearly every champion in the game, even after the nerf it's still a nearly invaluable summoner spell. Even with the reduced range, you are still able to control situations while having it, whether defensively or offensively. If you want, you can go ahead and grab Ghost instead – it's viable, although I'd still recommend Flash.

Teleport

Teleport is one of the most effective summoner spells for most top lane champions, as it allows you to maintain pressure not only on your own lane but also on other lanes with the potential of a ward gank or the ability to force a Dragon fight. When doing this, however, be wary of a strong pushing champion on the other team as they will be able to abuse your absence and secure a free tower kill. Teleporting is also effective for split pushing and gives you relative dominance in your lane as you'll be able to farm your Wriggle's and immediately go back without any down time.

Ignite

Ignite is a nobrainer vs enemy champions that have a sort of build in heal/ sustain in combat, using this for example on irelia will reduce her healing drastically! But not only does it give a good healing reduction it is also a good finisher if you can't yet dive or he gets away and dies of Ignite !!!

Strategy and Tactics

Strategy

Laning Phase - During this part of the game, you just want to farm as much as you can. You have no natural sustain, so the laning phase will be difficult against certain damage. If you're laning against someone who can sustain, just try to farm until you get ganks. If you get ganked, you have an escape. If you're against someone that can't sustain themselves, then go for the kills. Wukong is really strong at trading because he can reduce the enemy's armor with his ability. Just try to get to the point where you can start helping your team out a lot with your tankiness and damage. Your ultimate is extremely useful for teamfights as it's a knock-up and it's AoE damage.

Mid\Late Game - Work with your team and help out. You do a lot of damage and you can tank a lot of damage. You have gap closers so you can get to the AP and AD carries that you need to kill and knock up. Wukong is really scary because he does so much damage, so focus on killing the important targets. You can also initiate fights with your ultimate since you have a gap closer. You can quickly get to your targets and knock all of them up, setting up a perfect teamfight.

Tactics

You should just be using your Nimbus Strike to get to your enemy and use Crushing Blow to reduce his armor and do damage. After you do this combo, continue poking with your auto attacks. If you're winning the exchange, go for the kill. When you get ganked, just use your Warrior Trickster ability and flee to safety.

When you see a perfect chance, use your Nimbus Strike to go to your enemies and use your Cyclone . This will knock them up and do lots of damage to everyone you're hitting. Afterwards, if you're taking too much damage, use Warrior Trickster and just walk away. Your Nimbus Strike cooldown should be up by now and you can use it again to get back into the fight.

Tips and Tricks
Using your Warrior Trickster ability

The Warrior Trickster ability can be used to trick your enemies, ensuring your escape. One thing you can do is click the S key which cancels all actions, making it look like you used the abililty. After the enemies go past you, just run away. This looks really funny and if they keep chasing you after you did this, you can actually use your Warrior Trickster ability this time or if there rlly stoopid djuke again xD.
