Just Permaban this champion, don't even try...
I wont be doing all champions, but I will be doing the more serious or common matchups you will be facing, for you to get the general idea of what kind of classes you can face.
Kassadin
Don't even try in this matchup. Impossible to win LP against a Kassadin.
Kled
Kled is the toughest matchup for Kassadin. A good Kled player will be able to dive you constantly as soon as level 3.
Try your hardest not to feed him. He will be buffering his Q animation with E, so try to predict where he is going. Once he gets 6, he will be roaming around the map. Remember to ping your teammates so that he doesn't get any harder to fight.
Sett
Besides Kled, Sett is one of the toughest matchups a Kassadin can face. His dueling potential makes it so that you have under tower.
Just play safe under tower, look for potential picks around the map and get your core items. You will eventually be able to outscale Sett.
Renekton
One of the more annoying matchups,
Lane sustain with his Q healing, point-and-click stun with his W, gap close with his E and bonus HP and Fury with his R. Renekton is one of the most annoying matchups for a Kassadin.
Respect his close combat trades and go for lingering minions with Q.
Take small trades while there is no minion wave to minimize his healing of Q, and use your E slow to your advantage and keep your distance.
Darius
Darius, with his built-in armor penetration and multiple slows on his abilities, is a tough matchup.
Farm from a range with Q or poke him with Q and E. Keep your distance as the second he gets his five stacks passive on you. You immediately lose the trade. Don't forget that his inner Q range doesn't apply a bleed stack, use this info to your advantage. Once you get your R, it is easier to escape. But don't underestimate Darius, especially if they have Flash, Ghost and went Stridebreaker.
Lee Sin
High Mobility, Sustain and Burst.
Truly one of Kassadin's worst nightmares.
Stand behind your minion wave so that he can't Q you for free damage and engages, but don't stand in the middle of the wave. Most Lee Sin players like to E the wave to push to get priority and to roam. There are chances to counter Lee Sin. If he ward-jumps, that tells you that he cant shield your Q damage. If he E's the wave, he won't have his slow marked on you, so go for quick short trades while he has no way to catch you out. Finally, his R can be redirected by your R, if you can react and position so that he kicks you into a favorable position, you can survive the laning phase.
Tryndamere
With his wave-clear with E, constant healing with Q and potential tower-diving power with his R, Tryndamere is a real problem for Kassadin at mid lane.
Play safe under tower. When he tried to engage with E, R over walls so that he can't follow you. Rush your Frozen Heart as soon as possible to lower his attack speed so that he cant get as many critical strikes off.
Nocturne
Nocturne is on the border of the Major tier. Some can even argue that he belongs in the Extreme tier, and I do not blame them. With Sustain and Wave Clear, both coming from just his passive alone, I'm surprised he hasn't been picked up by more players in lane yet. As one of the most annoying "stat-sticks", in my opinion. Q allows him to run you down if you get hit. A shield that blocks an ability and then grants him attack speed if he successful blocks an ability. A point-and-click fear that provides him even more movement speed to chase you down with (And I know that it takes time for it to fear, but with his Q movement speed, it is almost impossible to escape without burning a sum, without your R). And an ultimate to have global nearsightedness to all enemies, and a dash that takes you almost halfway across the map. You just need to survive to 6 and not underestimate his insane stats.
Fiora
There is no shame in walking out of her passive range till her vital is in a favourable spot, you might think that you will lose cs, but if her vitals is in front of her, there is no doubt in my mind that she is going to go for it any chance she got. Though you have nothing she can parry to stun you with, this doesn't mean it doesn't do anything. It still negates all incoming damage and crowd control, which includes your E slow.
Just play safe and wait for her to greed for vitals and punish, as if she doesn't hit anything with her Q, the cooldown is drastic.
Gangplank
One of the toughest lane-bullies in the game. The number one rule against Gangplank is DONT LET HIM GET LANE CONTROL. The second Gangplank gets control of the lane, he will be able to beat you senseless. Try to get rid of any barrels as possible, by aa w aa, the barrels at two hp points. And after a while, mix it up, so that GP cant detonate it the second he sees you walking towards his barrel. His level 13 power spike is one of the strongest, but he is still very squishy and doesn't have many forms of escape. Punish him for mispositioning or greeding, and remember NOT TO GIVE HIM LANE CONTROL.
Tristana
Her wave clear with her W and burst damage with E is one of the tougher matchups to face. Don't underestimate her early damage, she can jump onto you and pop her E to get a clean getaway before you have enough time to even press R.Just start cloth and four pots and try to farm with Q. You will eventually be able to burst her later on into the game, but be careful. Your oracles are there to ensure you don't misposition and not to face check.
Ezreal
With his constant skillshots with Q and W, it is almost impossible to dodge everything, and with a blink similar to Kassadin's, it's stunning how much he can get away with. Similarly to Lee Sin, stand behind your wave so that you don't take free poke from his Q's and don't walk up too close. If he gets a W onto you, he can E to guarantee the detonation of W. Just play safe and farm up. Later on into the game, you can just burst him with your R, even if he goes for a more tanky build. No matter what he builds, he is still an ADC.
Irelia
More annoying than hard matchups, most of the time, you will try to fight your enemy when you have your wave as you have a minion advantage. But for Irelia's case, it is actually better for you to just to her shove in the wave. Her Q stacking empowers her auto's so much early, that if she manages to stack her passive entirely, it is just a confirmation that you walk away and wait for it to expire. Wait for both minion wave to be gone and see that she has no passive stacks. Before even considering going in, you should be able to dodge her E with your R quite simply, but do not underestimate her.
Riven
Riven with her multiple dashes and AOE CC is a problem for Kassadin.
Though there is something you can count on, the fact that her abilities have a long cooldown. If she tries to all-in you and fails, this is the perfect time to punish, though don't get cocky seeing that she is low. Even when low, she can still burst you with a full combo, so just punish and farm up.
Qiyana
A good Qiyana player is hard to come by, but when you do face one, it is gonna be torture. Her mobility, stun, invisibility and bonus damage against low targets are already a problem for Kassadin, and I haven't even mentioned her ultimate yet. At lvl 1, try to trade with her. She has one of the weakest lvl 1, start W and start trading with her early. When you see her use her W, try to make her waste it so that she can't get a fast combo on you. At lvl 6, stay clear of walls so she can't stun-lock you. Later on into the game, it is easy to burst her down, but her invisibility might make it annoying to track her.
Zed
Surprised he isn't in the Extreme tier?
A common misconception, but Kassadin actually struggles with Bruisers more than Assassins. I'm not saying that Zed is an easy matchup, but there are worse matchups. During laning, Zed will try to put his shadow perpendicular to you so that he can easily land his double Q. Try to avoid that by either walking away from him or walking into the wave. Don't let him snowball, as if he does, it will be hard for you to stop him, but just play safer. And Zhonya's is your best friend, till later on, then just run him down. Don't get cocky, he is still an assassin, so just know your damage, charge up your R, be patient, and punish him for mispositioning.
Yasuo
Yasuo is actually surprising even, don't be scared. Max your E, against Yasuo with how much he spams his Q and E. Your E should be up 90% of the time. Conqueror in this matchup is your best friend. The dueling from E and Conqueror is so strong. Don't forget to R away if he has his tornado to prevent an E-Q guaranteed knock-up. Frozen Heart into Yasuo is actually quite effective, the armor for his damage. The mana to match his sustain and the Ability Haste that allows you to stack your conqueror quickly. The passive to reduce his attack speed which affects his Q cd.
Yone
Pretty much the same as Yasuo, but don't underestimate his E true damage. It is very painful during long fights.
Kayle
Kayle is one of the 16 power spike champs but is nothing for a Kassadin, her range might get annoying, but if you max your Q, you should have no issue, she isn't very mobile, so if you watch her misposition, you can hard punish her. And her R takes quite a long time to actually deal damage, so just R away if you are low and just re-engage when you are confident again.
Xerath
Q Max, Doran's Shield... The amount of stuff Xerath throws out in lane is insane, but..... He is still super squishy, so you can either dodge all of the spells he throws out or face tank it all XD. You can easily burst him without any issue. Don't forget you can interrupt both his Q and R with your Q channel cancel, so don't be afraid to use it.
Viktor
Q Max is recommended. Viktor is super annoying pre level 6, his zoning with W and E are insane, but your Q shielding can block most of his damage, try to keep him in lane and not feed him, so that he isn't able to get his passive stacks for no reason. But once you get your R, you can punish him for wasting his abilities and to burst him out in the late game.
Gragas
At lvl 1, soak him Q damage with your Q shield when farming, but respect his passive healing. At lvl 2, back off his E Q aa combo will be too much for your Q shield early, so take note of it and back off. At lvl 5, be careful. He is most likely gonna try to rush his lvl 6 power spike. Be patient and wait for him to waste his E, without it he is just another immobile AP mid lane. You can punish him hard because of it.
Orianna
Orianna can take control of the wave rather effortlessly, so try not to fight it and just farm up. Her Q W will zone you really hard, so just time your Q to soak up as much of her poke as possible. Keep an eye out for her ball to prevent any free poke. When level 6, be patient and wait for her to waste her abilities, try to engage when she doesn't have her ball on her person, as it provides her resistances when it is on her. If possible, try to ambush Orianna, as in lane, she might be able to fight back with her passive AA stacked up.
Ryze
With insane wave clear with his double-E-Q combo, and point-and-click root, it is hard to deny that Ryze is one of the more annoying matchups. His spamming of abilities can easily overwhelm a Kassadin in the laning phase, just play safe and poke with Q. Don't forget that you can actually cancel his R with your Q, so try to minimize his roaming potential with this info.
Talon
Talon is on the edge of going into the Even tier but is surprisingly easy for Kassadin since most Talon players objective is to roam, it allows you to get free farm and with your E and R, you can deny him so much CS, do remember to ping your teammates when Talon roams, don't get cocky. When he W towards you, you can just R away in a perpendicular direction to deny the second passive stack. And if he continues with a Q, you can prepare to aa-W-aa combo. If you can walk away before he aa's you, it's the best, especially if he gets 3 passive stacks on you since he needs to aa to get the bleed. Your E slow will make it even harder for him to get his passive off, so use it to your advantage. Vision against Talon is essential. Either he gets a sneak attack on you, or he gets to roam to another lane. In either case, Vision is the solution, so try to help yourself and your team. And usually, you want to hug walls to R over, but against Talon, it's the opposite, stay away from walls, so he can't close the gap for free.
Katarina
Kassadin is actually one of the champs that can deal with Katarina. During level 1, you can just block all of her Q damage with your Q shield. Level 2, she will out trade her E Q passive combo with your aa W aa Q. But level 3 onwards, you need to play smart. Though she does spam her abilities, don't underestimate Katarina, she can still snowball with 1 kill. Play the lane smart, post 6, hold your Q for her R, cancelling it entirely, and your shield will still be up to absorb any other damage she tries to go for. Be patient and either keep poking her till you are confident enough to all in or wait till she wastes everything and commit to the fight. Katarina ain't much if she doesn't get a kill to reset her abilities.
Diana
During the laning phase, take not of her passive, so you don't take unnecessary damage while standing in the minion wave. Diana's kit is very reliant on her landing her Q, so if possible, avoid as many Q's as humanly possible, as it results in her not getting her E reset, which guarantees that she will stick onto you for at least 2 seconds. If you manage to dodge the Q and she still E's in, you can just R away to avoid any more damage from her W or AA's and even possibly her R if she was desperate enough to risk her R like that. But you can just wait for her W to go away and re-engage as her E should still be on cooldown, but try to wait till she has wasted her passive AOE auto-attack as that does deal more damage and her bonus attack speed she gets after casting an ability.
Malphite
Not gonna lie, doesn't matter if he is going AP or Tank. If you just max your Q, you shouldn't have an issue with Malphite. Since all you have to do is block as much damage as possible with your magic shield and just sustain throughout the lane. Till you find the right opportunities to harass him. Either with your Q damage or walking up to AA W AA combo onto him. Either way, the second you get R, feel free to duel him to see how you stand in the fight. Most of the time, by then, you should be winning trades and fight with no problem. Be careful during team fights Malphite will be in the front line while your main objective is to burst the backline. Remember to focus on the carries.
Zoe
Other than the amount of stuff she can pick up with her W and the random nuke she fires out of nowhere, Zoe shouldn't really be a problem. She doesn't have much wave clear, so she won't have much pressure in the lane. Just dodge her E bubble, and she can't guarantee her Q to hit. Just be aware of the fog of war bubbles that may be shot towards you while farming. Just cause you can't see them doesn't mean they ain't there.
Ziggs
Other than the constant stuff he has thrown all over the place, I feel Ziggs is one of the more chill matchups you can face as Kassadin. If you are confident in your sidestepping, you can go Giga chad mode and just run straight at him. But usually, you will just be waiting for your R, then you run at him, not much to talk about other than to absorb as much damage as possible with your Q shield. And be wary of his passive auto-attack. It deals quite a lot of damage, so try not to tank too many. Every time Ziggs uses an ability, the cooldown for said passive is reduced, so do be wary of the passive damage.
Lux
The Lux matchup isn't hard, but it's just annoying. With a 2-second root, a shield, an AOE slow, an ultimate every minute (Sometimes even faster), and a passive which is basically a free Lich Bane if you get hit by an ability. Lux is one of the more annoying matchups. Even with your ultimate, it is hard to dodge everything constantly, but if you see her waste her spells on the wave, you can immediately tower dive her, with no fear of getting punished, as she has no form of escape other than her sums.
Syndra
Syndra's Q balls early on are really annoying zoning tools, but you can absorb most of the damage with your Q shield. The main issue with this matchup is her E knockback which doesn't allow you to stick on Syndra for very long even if you have your R since it can stun you after the knockback if a ball hits you when she cast her E. But other than that, the matchup is quite simple, Q to absorb the damage and punish if she mispositions like every other immobile mage, but the second you get R, you just need to wait for her to use E. When she does, you can just run her down. Do take note, how many balls are on the ground. If not, her ulti will randomly deal a lot of damage. Just cause she spammed her balls onto the ground without you realising.
Karthus
In my opinion, Kassadin's easiest matchups. He is already so immobile and adding onto your E and R, the matchup is really unplayable for Karthus. Early on, just keep poking him Q and E and block any Q damage with Q shield. Stand near minions so that you don't take bonus damage from his Q. The second you get R, there is no way Karthus is landing a single Q on you. His R can be cancelled by your Q, so he is left with his E that doesn't really deal much damage in the first place.
Vladimir
Even though Vladimir is under the Tiny tier here, he is nothing to laugh at. His sustain in lane is still insanely strong cause of his Q and his W being able to dodge almost anything. There is no doubt that Vladimir is still gonna put up a fight. During laning, take note of his "Crimson Rush" when it's red. Just back off you don't want to take that fight. He will just heal back any damage he has taken. His E animation is very obvious, so save your Q for his E, it will quickly cast his E to prevent him from dealing maximum damage, denying him minions and poke to you, and the shield will block the damage which did go through. Even though Vladimir has his W, he is still immobile, so just hold your E till he comes out of his W and try to trade with an AA-W-AA combo. Get some early anti-heal so that he won't heal as much health in the lane, and get the advantage quickly.
Fizz
Even though Fizz is every mobile with his Q and E, Fizz can't really do much in the lane. Due to his lack of wave clear. If he holds his E, pressure the wave. If he uses it on the wave all-in him as his E is most of his damage anyway. If you are pressuring the minion wave and he doesn't E, roam, pressure the map, force the Fizz to make a decision, either he wastes his E on the minion wave, or you get to freely roam without being punished. Either way, it's a win-win for you. Though don't underestimate Fizz, at lvl 6, he might be able to still 1 shot you if you are caught off guard.
Aurelion Sol
This is one of your easiest matchups, due to the sheer fact that Aurelion Sol can't do anything against you, his Q is so slow you can just R out of it, his W is also another ability your R completely counters, since you can just R into his W range, and E slow to stay within the range. And it is true that he can R you to the outer ring, but you can just R back into the range and Aurelion Sol cannot do much. You really just need to have the confidence to just R to his face and just stay there without a care in the world, and since you are right on top of him most of the time anyway, it is super easy for you to AA-W-AA combo constantly.
Veigar
In the early levels, stand behind the minion wave to avoid giving him free stacks. When he cages, he will most likely follow up with a Q or W. So just throw an early Q to prep your magic shield. Once you reach 6, it should be impossible for you to get hit since you can just R out of his cage. Try not to be below 20% hp in the lane. If you are just back, it's not worth your life for a couple of minions. Mid and Late game Veigar is unplayable against Kassadin since you just 1 shot him the second you get your Luden's
Anivia
Early on use, your Q block her Q's damage, farm passively since she can't do much if you are just playing safe. Since Anivia is so immobile, you just have to wait till 6, then you immediately win the matchup. At level 6, you can just R over Anivia W. Your Q can cancel Anivia R, which really messes with her full combo. If you really want to show off while jumping over Anivia W, you can dodge Anivia Q too. Since it is so slow-moving. You basically countered her entire kit, besides her E, which does peanuts without the other abilities. But don't forget that even though you can R over Anivia W, your teammates can't, so don't go too ham during fights.
Yuumi
Yuumi is Kassadin's best friend since you can just keep hopping around the map without a care in the world about whether or not they are with you, which can't be said about others like Taric and Lulu where they need to be within a certain range. Her Q slow helps you chase down enemies. Her W provides both AD or AP, depending on which you build. Her E not only heals you but also provides Movement Speed and Attack Speed, both really useful for this Hybrid Kassadin build. And her R, if positioned right, can be used to just run down the enemy with not a fear in the world, guaranteeing the stun on 2 people at least during team fights.
Lulu
Lulu is another candidate for tremendous synergies. With her Q slow and W polymorph, it's almost impossible for the enemy to run from you. And her E shielding and R bonus hp make you nearly unkillable with this build.
Taric
If anyone has seen a Taric Jungle and the amount of shit he can do to help a Kassadin during the laning phase, they will know why he is so high up the synergy list. His passive allowing him to reduce the cooldown of all other abilities, for the following 2 auto attacks, upon casting an ability, allowing him to spam his abilities with his mana being the only issue. His Q and W provide a Heal and Shield, keeping you alive. If you and the Taric can synergize, Taric can point his E in a direction, and you can just blink over to stun the enemy instantly. And his R allows you to run straight at the enemy without the worry of dying at all. And there is a hidden technique with Taric that Kassadin can benefit from enormously. Kassadin, not having the best laning phase. Taric can stand at the raptor camp and heal you back to full hp by casting W and spam healing on you with Q when auto'ing the raptor camp. This makes it so that you get a healthy laning phase. And it can effortlessly stack up your E passive, which is 2 of Kassadin's many problems during the laning phase.
Orianna
This is one of the weirdest synergies you can find. As its either you are playing Kassadin in an off-role, or Orianna is playing in an off-role. In either case, Orianna-Kassadin is such a stunning combo, nearly making it into the Ideal tier. But the chances of you getting an Orianna on your team is so low that it's not that reliable. But with her E, she provides Kassadin with bonus Armor and Magic Resist, which is never bad for a Kassadin. But the stunning part comes in her ultimate. She can attach her ball onto Kassadin, then you R into the enemy backline. Orianna can follow you up with an R to pull them all into you, followed by a W AOE slow that makes it hard for the enemy to escape your short-cooldown ultimate. And since her W also speeds you up, you can run to catch any stragglers.
Xin Zhao
Xin Zhao's early power is nothing to laugh at, his W to E range is so insane early on, and the 3 hit knock-up with Hail of Blades is so quick, some enemies might not be able to flash in time. This allows you to get early picks, and if you manage to shove the wave, you can follow him to gank other lanes to get easy kills/assists and "unintentionally" soak exp and take cs. And if you are low, Xin Zhao can also help you disengage with his R. If he has it. This gives you time to scale safely with no worries.
Lee Sin
Similarly to Xin Zhao, Lee Sin is another champ that can help Kassadin in the early phases of the game really well, from the ganks, shielding with W, his E and R allow for easy picks. While you can secure, enhancing your lead and allowing to get to your late-game power and items. Something to note is that both parts of Lee Sin's abilities stack up Kassadin's E passive. Allowing him to have his E up very often, if your Lee Sin camps a brush and you start the fight with your E, with all the abilities Lee Sin, you and the enemy uses, you should have your E stacked up before it even comes off cooldown.
Shen
Shen, with good map awareness, can really turn the fights in many ways, either you can R into a team fight with Shen ulti'ing you early so that he gets a multi-man taunt which you can follow up, or you can engage and when you get low Shen comes to R you with a nutty sized shield. Either way, Shen is one of the champs that really encourages aggressive playstyles during team fights. Remember that his W blocks not only for him but for allies too. Stand in it if someone is auto attacking you and stay near Shen so that you can get taunt engages and he can protect you with W.
Rell
Rell, similarly to Taric, has a tether that can help allies by providing them with stats on the cast, but unlike Taric. Rell not only provides Armor but Magic Resist as well but doesn't provide any shielding. Though she does have a heal, is it peanuts compared to Taric's. However, Rell will be running into the enemy locking them down. Setting you up to burst them all down, with his W and R. Her Passive and Q make it so that the enemy is weakened for easier burst damage by reducing their resistances and breaking shields. However, it is not a must for you to always stick with Rell and follow her engages. You should just wait for the perfect moment before running in.
Zilean
Zilean works really well with Kassadin from his Time Bomb, which you can just deliver to the enemy by having Zilean throw it on you. E movement speed buff on allies or debuff on enemies can help you catch out the enemy really easily. And with his R which, basically gives you a free Guardian Angel. BUT do take note that when Zilean R does activate, he doesn't restore your mana like Guardian Angel, but it resets your R stacks, so you can get back your 40 mana R the second you get resurrected.
Kayle
Personally, I don't like having Kayle on my team, as 2 hyper carries in the late game might seem like a good idea, but we will be fighting for CS constantly. There have been games where either 1 gets ahead and just 1v9 while the other is useless. Or we fight for CS, resulting in both getting behind. Though her Q can indeed reduce enemy resistances allowing you to deal more damage, and her W can provide both with healing. And movement speed that can help with parties catch out the enemy and her R invulnerability is really strong on Kassadin, but the fact that both are basically fighting for the farm is the downfall of the combination
Vladimir
Similarly to Kayle and Kassadin, Vladimir is another Hyper-Carry. That will be fighting Kassadin for the farm. However, I think that can good about having a Vlad on your team is that if he can pull off a really nutty R onto the enemy team, you will be dealing a bonus of 10% against anyone affected by his ulti. But other than that, you will just be fighting with Vlad for the farm and side lane. Which will result in both being behind.
Ryze
Ryze is actually THE WORST Teammate to have on your team since it takes what is terrible about having Vladimir and Kayle on your team, but DOESNT BENEFIT YOU AT ALL. He doesn't help you get your late game power spike, as he needs the farm to get to his late-game power spike. Yall will just be fighting for the farm constantly. If you have a Ryze on your team, feel free to dodge. No one will get to the late game cause yall will just be sabotaging one another by soaking exp.

Hello, I'm TheSecretsWithin, a Kassadin main. I am a 19 y/o, currently studying Engineering. I have been playing League of Legends since Season 6 but only picked up Kassadin on patch 9.23, Pre-season 10. I managed to reach platinum in the Garena server while grinding with Kassadin. I have managed to get over 1,000 games of Kassadin with 600,000 points on Kassadin and counting as I do not plan to stop. I'm the kind of player that doesn't like to play the basic build and playstyle. I would rather play off-meta or non-traditional concepts to have fun. And with how I play this game, it is about time I had a unique build for my boy, Kassadin. Let me show you what I have come up with, share my experience, thought process and knowledge with you and maybe, just maybe, convince you to start playing the way I do.
I used to main Singed as I am not that good at skillshots and just wanted to mess with the enemy by running laps around them. I have varying degrees of experience playing different roles as I like testing out random builds and testing my skills on other champions. Then I watched a clip of a Kassadin blinking around the enemy Nasus, cancelling each Q-auto while slowly whittling down Nasus's health. I was amazed at the way Kassadin was able to dance around then enemy. So on my next league game, though it was a normal game, I picked Kassadin and got a pentakill on my first game on the champ. I immediately knew that he was the champ for me, and I have played him ever since.
Champion Overview
Kassadin has been one of the most infamous champions for many seasons, due to his high carry potential in the late game from his level 16 powerspike. Many toxic players have played him giving him a bad reputation, but this is not the whole story. Kassadin is a champion that may seem braindead at first sight, but the tiny decisions you make in the laning phase really rewards you in the late game.
The Item Purge
With the item changed that came in at patch 10.23. The Preseason 2021 update was dubbed as the Item Purge. Many items were removed, some changed, and a whole new mechanic for items have been added listed as "Mythic Items". With all the changes, some were minor but, some hit champions hard. Hextech Gunblade, a fan-favourite item among champions such as Akali and Katarina was removed, and this was one of many.....
Champion takedowns, after a 1-second delay, restore 20% of your maximum mana or 20% of your maximum energy and increase maximum mana by 100 or maximum energy by 10, stacking up to 5 times for a maximum of 500 maximum mana or 50 maximum energy.
They removed the increase of the maximum mana cap and reduced the percentage of maximum mana restored from 20% to 15%. Removing a lot of mana items, either the item itself, such as Rod of Ages and Righteous Glory, which has now been changed to Turbo Chemtank. Or just changed whether the item provides any mana, such as Lich Bane, Abyssal Mask and Iceborn Gauntlet, which has now been changed to Iceborn Gauntlet.
So currently, there are very limited options to your mana items which limit the number of times you can use your Riftwalk at maximum stacks. They did compensate by changing it so that it consumes less mana and increase his mana growth in the same patch
UNIQUE PASSIVE - HASTE: Grants an additional 10% cooldown reduction.
UNIQUE PASSIVE - AWE: Grants bonus ability power equal to 3% maximum mana. Refunds 25% of mana spent from abilities.
UNIQUE ACTIVE - MANA SHIELD: Drains 15% of your current mana to Shield yourself for an equal amount plus 150 for 2 seconds (120 second cooldown).
New:
STATS: 60 ability power, 850 mana.
UNIQUE PASSIVE - AWE: Gain ability power equal to 5% of bonus mana.
UNIQUE PASSIVE - EMPYREAN: Increase your maximum mana by 5%(+ 2.5% per 100 AP).
Many problems arise from the falling of Archangel's Staff:
1. Cooldown Reduction
- The past Seraph's Embrace provided 20% Cooldown Reduction, which now has been completely removed from the item. It is true that with the implementation of "Mythic Items", the Lost Chapter items provided ability haste. But the ability haste provides to the Lost Chapter items is nothing compared to the past Cooldown Reduction provided by Seraph's Embrace.
2. The Active Shield
- These were the wings of Archangel's Staff, but after it was removed. The item never felt the same. Being able to "Drain your mana for a shield" is like having a 5th ability using up a percentage of your mana for a shield for squishy champions. This was the downfall of many users of Archangel's Staff. Most relied on this shield so much that they can no longer go for risky plays without it. Having a protective shield was really ensuring that you didn't have to rely on your teammates healing or shielding. Or you can confidently go in on a 1v1 without a doubt in your mind since you have Seraph's Embrace's shield ready to save up from any danger.
Though some may argue that this new Seraph's Embrace is superior to the old one in the fact that it does increase your maximum mana, I have crunched the numbers, so you don't have to,
