Introduction

Hello and welcome!
I'm K4SSAQUINN and this is my first guide in Mobafire.
I started playing in the middle of S3 and achieved Silver 1. Now I'm a Platinum 3 player.
Although I'm not a pro player or an expert I've been playing a lot of Quinn in the past few months and had a lot of success with her.
So I wanted to write this guide to help those who want to master this awesome champion.

Pros/Cons, When and Why Quinn?

PROS

+ Harrier is a lane bully
+ Great dueler
+ Can blind
+ Can burst enemy carries
+ tag team grants you great roam, pickoff and chase opportunities

CONS

- Really squishy
- Can be hard to master (As a top laner)
- Ultimate needs good judgment
- Item dependent
- Her hardest counter ( Pantheon) is a commom pick
- People may think you're trolling

When and Why Quinn?

Quinn excels both in ranged and in melee combat. While she may not be as effective as an AD carry (in some people's opinions) she can fill this role pretty decently too.

In this guide, however, we will talk about the top lane godess she is.

Thanks to her kit, she can assassin squishy targets as fast as Talon or Rengar.
Don't forget that while she can be built a little more tanky she's not supposed to be in frontline or start teamfights.
If your jungle can engage and tank (e.g Jarvan IV or Rammus) just go ahead, pick her and carry dem gamez.

Masteries

For masteries, my standart is 21/9/0.

Offense

+ Double-Edged Sword gives you a nice 1.5% additional damage and since you're ranged you should avoid getting hits in lane.

+ Expose Weakness is an amazing mastery for our queen. Think about it: you just Vault'd your enemy, now you deal 1% more damage + 1.5% from the mastery above + Harrier's proc = insane damage.

+ Frenzy is really nice since we're looking to hit as fast as we can and crit all day long.

Defense

Pretty standart defensive masteries for any 21/9 user.
The only thing you should consider is taking Enchanted Armor instead of Recovery

Enchanted Armor gives you some armor/magic resist bonus that can save your life in late game fights while Recovery, combined with Feast , gives you even more sustain in lane.

Utility

Although I don't use or recommend the utility tree it seems that some people enjoy it. And it may work, if used properly.

The idea here is to have even more mobility and map presence.

+ Phasewalker gives you one extra second while returning to base(!!!!)

+ Fleet of Foot, combined with movespeed items + tag team gives you even more power while roaming.

+ If you've got teleport, your map presence will be insane with Summoner's Insight

+ You could take Runic Affinity instead of the biscuits for extra red/baron buff time.

Runes

Greater seal of armor x9
It is always nice to have some armor to reduce auto attack damage.

Greater glyph of magic resist x9
Specially good if against AP tops.

Greater mark of attack damage x8
I don't think an explanation is required...

Greater mark of critical chance x1
Ok. Now this is interesting.
As you may know, all champions start with 0% of critical chance. With this little baby you get 1 in a 100 chance of critting when auto attacking. Ok, it may not be THAT good but, believe me, it can win you a trade early game if you're lucky. For me it is worth trading 1 AD for 1% critical chance, but it's up to you.

Greater quintessence of attack speed x2
In my opinion, Quinn relies heavily in attack speed. With two of these, combined with masteries, you'll get 14% more attack speed.

Greater quintessence of attack damage x1
Because we need even more damage. It'll help you last hitting.

Summoner Spells

God Tier

Flash is the most used summoner spell in all League of Legends and for one reason. Instant blink is an important tool for either run away, chase or make the big plays. It is a reliable spell for almost all champions and Quinn is no exception.
A must have.

Ignite if you wanna snowball really hard and you trust your 1v1 skills well enough. Also because it is frustrating when the enemy run away with 10 hp...

While Ignite can provide you some early kills, Teleport is the real deal if you trust your teammates and/or your own map awareness. Usually I take teleport against tanks or against certain champions who counter me hard (aka Pantheon). With this spell you can get kills in other lanes either by ganking with teleport or simply walking all the way down to the lane and then teleporting back in time to protect your tower.
It is also good for securing objectives and splitpush/backdoor strategies.

Another options

Cleanse is not so good, not so bad. If you're against a heavy CC composition you should consider this, although it cuts off a lot of Quinn's potential and you can always rely on Quicksilver Sash.

Same goes here. Heal too can ruin your potential. Let dem ADCz have it.

It may sound weird but Exhaust is a fair choice if you're against some stupidly strong champion like Riven, Yasuo, Zed or Jax. I tried exhaust some times and it actually worked really well.

Ghost is not really worth. Flash is better in almost all scenarios.

Skills

Like I said before, Quinn excels in ranged and in melee combat. But unlike Jayce, Elise or Nidalee, Quinn cannot be in her melee form any time she wants. It takes time until you learn when it is better to attack as Quinn or tag team and let Valor to do his job. (Yes, Valor is male!)

Passive: Harrier

Valor periodically marks an enemy as Vulnerable for 4.5s. If you hit a marked enemy: BANG! Quinn will deal bonus damage.

Q: Blinding Assault

As Quinn: Quinn commands Valor to fly forwards in a line, stopping when he collides with an enemy. Valor will deal physical damage and blind the enemies for 1.5s.
As Valor: Valor will deal damage to all enemies around him and blind them for 1.5s.

W: Heightened Senses

Passive as Quinn: Attacking a vulnerable target grants you bonus attack speed and movement speed.
Passive as Valor: Valor gains bonus attack speed.
Active: Valor reveals the area around her for 2 seconds.

Spoiler: Click to view

E: Vault

As Quinn: Quinn jumps in the enemy, knocking it back, dealing physical damage and slowing the target. She then leaps off and lands near her maximum attack range while Valor immediatly marks that enemy as vulnerable.
As Valor: Valor does the same, but he doesn't leap off nor mark the enemy.

tag team
R: tag team

Valor replaces Quinn on the battlefield for 20 seconds. Valor can move through units and gain increased movement speed that decreases gradually while in combat.
This skill can be activated again to perform Skystrike

R: Skystrike

Quinn returns to perform skystrike, dealing physical damage to all enemies within range. The damage is increased based in the targets missing health.

Items

Items are really important to unleash Quinn's true potential. Her build can vary, depending on what you/your team need. Remember that League of Legends isn't static and each game has its own characteristics and needs. So instead of just copying a build, try to learn what suits your play-style. Below I'll explain why and when to get each of the items.

Gameplay

Before I start, there are some things I want to considerate.

First of all, if you read my guide until here (Thanks!) you must have realized that I think Pantheon is Quinn's worst nightmare. Let me talk about this:
1. Basically he will just spear you until you're low (And damn... Hurts a lot).
2. It may be my bad luck, but Valor always marks him when his Aegis Protection is up. If you Vault him first, he'll just Heartseeker Strike you.
3. If you wait for him to make his move first and try vaulting away from him, you'll mark his passive aswell.
I'm not saying that this lane isn't winnable. I'm just saying that if you're against a good Pantheon, you'll have a really hard time. So I suggest you either not picking Quinn or try swapping with your bot/midlaner.

Second, you probably have already learnd a lot about how to use her.
It is no secret at all: Focus squishy target, tag team, explode him.

In this section I'll try to compilate everything I wrote above.

Summary and Credits

Summary

I think I covered the most important points of soloing top with Quinn.
It took me almost 2 full days to get material, learn about the coding, writing, making the banners and screenshots, but I'm really happy and proud of myself.

I hope you who read enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed writing. I will be really grateful if you upvote this guide.

Feel free to comment if I missed/skipped important information or wrote something wrong.
(As you may realize I am not a native speaker but I've tried my best to write in english.)
