So except the old dilea, there is a new thread about Teemo's rework you can read and give your opinion on


So on short, Teemo is getting an rework on pbe, which most probably will come live in 9.5 or 9.6.
The most important changes

All you need to do is to go on the official board and told them basically what you think about rework and how to make it in a way teemo will not have less playrate than skarner.
Some of common suggestion and said by one rioter will consider, is to make Teemo invisiblle in bushesh insead of camouflage, spamming it a little more on board will not harm tho, and maybe will make them to understand how important that thing is in cheese lv 1 plays in enemy camp, okey jokes aside, but now it's your only chance to save teemo.

Hello guys I'm .. hmm i'm used of the nicknames Danksigh , Lord Kagetane or LuxIsMyCrush you can call me whatever you want, I started playing league in season 7, so we can say I'm not that old, Teemo was like one of my first champs I enjoyed playing, and even if the first season i not really spamed him on ranks, I had a lot of fun with it, right now I started a only teemo account on euw and I want to see how far can I go with it, my actual position on main account is gold, but that shouldn't affect our teemo experience. Some of you maybe know me alerdy, I did some few other unnoticeable guides about teemo, one of them being a full troll and the other about nexus blitz, well this one will be serious and will help you to improve a little bit your elo.
Currently I'm in top 100 (65 right now) teemo players on eune and 389 global conform league of graphs

In that part of guide I will mention the important things about the respective patch and how it will affect Teemo.

Teemo acutally got some changes this patch, most mentionable being now he can store up to 5 shrooms. (3 at rank 1, 4 rank 2 and 5 rank 3).
Also now Q make enemy screen green, that doesnt really affect you as much, but it will tell enemies when they are blinded, so they can stop using important auto enchants on you and hold them until blind expires or will just flee.

PROS CONS

Teemo is a very flexible champion, being able to use a lot of different builds, and max skills in a lot of different way, even if there is a optimal build teemo is a squishy champ and even with some tanky ap items is easy to kill him once caught
A great pick whenever you want to climb, or you are just tired and want to level up or try new things control wards and oracle are a pain
can bully a lot of champions early game
decent vision control and pressure champions with a great sustain or basic knoweldge about game can escape the early tilt he makes
can generate paranoia in enemy team

Right now there are just 3 keystones that can works on teemo, so lets start with the the rune leaderboard

Anyway right now Dark harvest is the best rune for teemo (trust me i'm an engineer), but can be hard to make it usable, as you need to constantly farm stacks, you basically are a nasus, but you bully poor champions insead of minions and keep them low hp the entire game. on a serious note, dark harvest can be very effective and probably best snowball option for teemo while best scaling rune too. Domination tree also have a lot of interesting option, the most abusable one being Ultimate Hunter which will reduce your shrooms cdr
The second one is Aery which can give you sustain damage on an enemy, and stick on them as long as they remain poisoned, witht that i mean aery will come back like 2 times with a single hit.
The last but not the worst, graps of the undying, a nice sustain rune for hard matchups as well as .. dunno, it will give you some sustain, and Font of Life will give your team some sustain while hunting the fools which step on your shrooms.

But what about less popular key stones?
Well there are the entire Precision tree, respectively Lethal Tempo Fleet Footwork. Press the Attack and Conqueror basically used on on-hit teemo. Well thats it, i will not go into details.
Now i will just mention all runes you can use on teemo, maybe sometime i will explain on long why they are good and the rest not so good.
bonus true damage on enemy that are in cc, your shrooms are free trigger, if you build rylai you yourself are a free trigger for that rune.
works with your passive, but on a long ride is not so good.
single sustain damage rune option from that line, the vision control is good too but your shrooms alerdy do it as good as a zombie ward or poro ghost can do, maybe even better.
good sustain rune, give you some heal when poke enemies every 20 seconds, is a nice rune to stay more on lane or win small trades, the effect may be not very noticeable early but the heal from is really good.
is another good sustain rune, it works only with your skills but most of your damage comes from it anyway, so basically is like an extremly nerfed gunblade.
reduce your shrooms cdr, but based on your playstyle any hunter rune except for Ingenious Hunter can work good.
early poke and help proc dark harvest
Presence of Mind dont work good with your charges (shrooms) you should take it just for mana, but why would you, there are better options if you need mana.

Overheal is ****
Triumph there are better options
Legend: Alacrity not the worst if you go second precision you would want it and Coup de Grace
Arcane Comet is not the best, can be missed, and even if slowed by shrooms basically make it impossible and so people argue "comet is best rune for shrooms" there is no guaranteed hit on this rune, any dash or flash can get out of it's way, and again, there are better options, it just don't fit teemo, comet is the kind of rune you want on a champ that can hit you with more than a single spell to get it's cooldown back and spam it, teemo can't do it, the single thing he can spam is his Q and that is kinda costly.
Manaflow Band good mana sustain, after 6 you could abuse it cause placing 3 shrooms will take like half of your mana unless you have some extra mana sustain/items. (including manaflow)
Absolute Focus Transcendence and Celerity can work good on teemo,celerity less good than first ones mentioned.
Scorch early poke
Gathering Storm scaling
Font of Life give your team some little sustain while "hunting your prey"
Second Wind Bone Plating defensive option
Inspiration i will not talk about any of these, cause is not really worth, those counting more about your playstyle.
When to pick dark harvest? Back to Top
Dark Harvest
Well Dark Harvest can be pick in basically any game, except the ones while your enemy laner is extremly tanky and oversustain your damage or he can pretty well have a safe lane without needing to "accept" your poke.
Those facts can be problematics because will reduce a lot the number of stacks you get early.

An ideal matchup would be someone you can easy take down to half hp, or even better, someone you can easy kill in lane.

Dark harvest will work okey in a lot of bruiser matchups, and even if you don't pick early stacks you can always stall the game with your shrooms, counting you place them right.

To make maximum usage of Dark Harvest I recommand an AP build, doing so in mid-late game a shroom or Q should single handed proc another harvest at least while damaging an squishy target (If the taget is not below 50% while hited it will not proc on non-dot skills ( Blinding Dart ) so you need something like luden to proc after it or use an auto after/before (don't really matter cause the dot damage will still proc it)

Grasp of the undying


Many people would recommand to take grasp against lane bully, but that is the best working against tanks, especially the ones that can hurt you like Dr. Mundo or Sion.
Grasp and rushing gunblade will provide a lot of sustain so you can stay more on lane, stack some health (not quite much but enough to take some more hits) and from some reasons deal more damage, cause Riot love damage and any rune should deal a lot of damage and do other 50 things.

Anyway that rune will exccel against any tank matchup as you can basically get as much sustain as they do and dominate lane from the very beginning.

That rune would work basically in any matchup, but honestly you want to deal more damage if you are against something that you can kill.

The single lane bully against I recommand to take grasp insead of another rune would be Akali since a good one can kill you basically instantly.

Summon Aery


Aery is basially a poke rune, so it's usage is kinda limited and relevant only early game. It loses it's power as the game progress and would be best used against an easy matchup to dominate better the lane and take out of lane enemy laner, or kill him. I can not really recommand you an easy matchup since now
most top laners are ranges with better sustain and damage than you.

Actually I think I talked alerdy about most of items, and the one remaining are not so important, i mean its clearly is for more ap.
Luden's Echo is a great item, taked by most mages early game thanks for Lost Chapter sustain, this item and nashor will help you to get 40% cdr and a lot of mana to spam shroms, i usually don't really go for this item early, and a lot of time i end not even buying it from a lot of reasons.
Mejai you will take most of time only if you are unkillabe, maybe not even then, it's a very risky option, you should play that only if you are smurfing or play on normals, dont do useless risks if you know you are a easy target for them
Banshee's Veil is an option against dangerous mages, especially the fed ones, also grant you a spell shield which will completly ignore the first spell that touch you. easy to take down tho but also can save your life, don't take it every game, just in games your really need a little protection against some specific ap champs
Zhonya is the supreme defensive item, it is truly great, especially against ad champions since beside active you get and some armor, Zhonya is also great cause of it's core components like Stopwatch which is literally just Zhonya's active for single usage and Seeker's Armguard that can give you both armor and ap during lane phase until you complete it. (full stacked seeker gives 45 armor and 35 ap combined with its raw stats). You may consider it in some bad matchups, or when the enemies have a hobby to dive you (in which case you should priorite stopwatch first insead of seeker), or when the enemies have a lot of ad, do not understimate the power of 45 armor and 2 seconds invulnerability.
Morello is a great time against from a various of reasons, but the main one is the sustain killing it provide via grievous wounds. You will want this item early against champions with high sustain or if they have many heals or healers, like soraka for example. This item is also great cause even if you are not present on the battle if an enemy step on your shrooms will almost certainly dead (counting your team is around and know how to react). Beside that great effect, it makes you a little tanky and also provide magic pen. (was nerfed this patch tho but is still a great item for teemo)
Good for an on-hit build, or as a defensive option against ap enemies, reducing their damage a little and giving for yourself some sustain from it's healing passive.
gunblade is a good item to give you more survability, mixt damage and chase down squishy targets as well as proc for electrocute/dark harvest. It's active will slow down an enemy and deal damage to them based on your ap, and the passive just heal you for all magic damage you do.
Gets a extra range when you are energized wich makes poking much easier and safe, also make you more annoy adding some extra damage. Looks like an nice item, dunno might change my mind later



Now I kind of want to explain what items you should take, and order, against Riven or any champion similar while you want max defense, the safest start so far would be Cloth Armor and Refillable Potion, at the first back you should take Seeker's Armguard and then Corrupting Potion or Stopwatch, then procced to finish Zhonya's Hourglass. If you are even or losing the lane take Ninja Tabi or if you managed to get some advantages and not feel like needing more defense continue with the standard build.
For runes you can take Grasp of the Undying which is probably the safest option, or Electrocute / Dark Harvest with Resolve on second for an extra layer of protection.

GUERRILLA WARFARE
DESCRIPTION
Teemo's passive is GUERRILLA WARFARE, Teemo can become invisible while not moving for 1.5s (in bush he can move). You can use Guerrilla Warfare to hide from enemies chasing you, or ambush an enemy.
Guerrilla Warfare also give you some attack speed while you get out from stealth, so you can use to start a trade in your advantage, or just control better waves.
Something obvious for most Teemo players but still mentionable while under Guerrilla Warfare you can't be revealed by Control Ward or stunning/damagin but can be revealed by knock-up skills and Oracle Lens (Orancle lens will show his position but will not break the stealth, while a knock-up will break it)



BLINDING DART
DESCRIPTION

Blinding Dart is a pretty useful tool to have, as it is not exactly your main source of damage early, it will be the main utility since the blind debuff can be extremly powerful in trades and farming, or more precise, denying enemy's farm or force them to use a skill to last hit, most of time they will be sure that will be able to last hit a minion before turret/wave kill it, and not every time you can use blind tilt effective, to do it right, it's more easily to do it when enemy is under his turret, as it will surely made his farm more harder. Overwall, in mid game and teamfights probably you will use only Q and R to deal damage, since you don't really want to be to close of enemy team.
Good to know, you can blind empowered auto attacks, like Nasus's Siphoning Strike, Twisted Fate's Pick A Card, Renekton's Ruthless Predator and so on, if the attack is a miss they will deal no effect being it more damage or a debuff.



MOVE QUICK
DESCRIPTION

This ability will, well make you move quick, that's it, that what it does, buy early boots and you will run like a god, this skill is good for kiting, and that's it, you can't really chase someone with it, only if it is completly immobile, and kinda you had a 50/50 to dodge a skillshot using it.



TOXIC SHOT
DESCRIPTION

Toxic Shot is your main damage early game, and if you are lucky, even later, if not, just max Q and watch to kill an adc.. Toxic Shot had a huge impact early game on trades and can easy manage a kill combined with Ignite, it give teemo some sustain in trades and combined with Guerrilla Warfare's attack speed can make a good cheese at level 1, making your enemy out of lane, or at least 50% hp if you are brave enough. It's a great ability, for poke, trades or fights.



NOXIOUS TRAP
DESCRIPTION


Basically most known and loved ability from Teemo kit is Noxious Trap, those lovely shrooms that you can find anywhere on map. Now basic info, Teemo can store up to 3 shrooms at a time, you can use shrooms in a lot of ways, it's all up to your imagination, but for few examples:
  • Vision and that include either to mark your territory, and know when an enemy will come, usually used for splitpushing, or to have vision and control on objectives, such as dragon (i encourage you to consider it prioritary if there is an infernal dragon ), rift herald or Baron nashor
  • Tracking similar to vision, but there you place shrooms in enemy's jungle to track where he is, usually place it ar krogs or gromp or a buff, as well as the usual paths to walk. Doing that you obtain 2 things:
    1. You and your team will know exaclty enemy jg position
    2. You can avoid from time a gank
  • Deffensive basically you will place shrooms around your lane or an area you currently are, to create a protective wall, doing so if enemy will catch you unprepared you will had some time in plus to react
  • Predictive kills Not meaning always to do a kill tho, that concept mean you will place a shroom where you are sure an enemy will step soon, being able to predict enemies moves is a crucial thing for a good teemo.
  • Pushing just throw a shroom in middle of wave.. well just to be precise, you will need to catch all casters, cannon minion and frontliners to be a effective shroom, if an nemey is in middle of them even better.
  • Warding Different from vision strategy, there you will place shrooms in bush to have vision of it, on small ones doesn't really matter where you place them, but on big bushes yes, if you want to be alert of enemy jungler you need to put a shroom close to the end of it, while if you want to see what is closest of you, like enemy is in a bush and wait for you, you place it at the closest way of bush to you, it's so obvious that now doesn't make any sense.
  • Combat obviously used in combat, throwed right on your enemies or minions around them, or the position they are leading to in the next 0.5 seconds.

So I kind of removed this chapter and made again to explain it a little better, and hopefully you will find it more useful, but if you think something there makes no sense or something is missing feel free to tell me.
BTW as reference with "auto" or "basics" I mean basic attacks, the action your character does when you right click an champion or any foe.

Okey those being said, let's start with lane phase, so if you play something like electro or grasp you should be looking to trade with your enemies everytime you have them up, and go back, then repeat it. If you play dark harvest, be kind of aggresive enough to reduce their hp to 50% but not enough to die in their turret, proc it, if you are winning in lane you can be looking to do a kill too, but if there is no case or if would be to risky, just be sure to mentain enemy somewhere around half hp so you can proc it much easier when the cd on harvest is done. About other runes there is not an rule where to trade/poke, but usually always is good moment while enemies are looking to last a minion or are distracted by something/have no vision on map.

A easy way to poke is just bush camping, cause you will get rid of aggro minion much easier, just come out of bush, auto/Q them and go back, and so on everytime you are not looking to last hit a minion, also being in bush will allow you to get the attack speed from Guerrilla Warfare, other way is just poke them and go back again.

COMBOS
So there is the list of combos you can do with Teemo, I will start with my favorite,
  • it is flash auto ignite Q for a surprise kill, when enemies are low hp.
  • another combo is e gunblade Q (usually to proc electro) if you are close to the enemy, if you you start with gunblade auto Q
  • most important one is kind of a complex combo, i may need a video evidence to may it easier to understand, but basically you use the Guerrilla Warfare to become invisible on lane or anywhere you are sure the enmy will come and then you.. well basic attack them

Okey you learn the combos, now, mechanics.
While trading you want to be sure the enemy is blind, doing so his autos are completly useless are yours are poisoning them to death. So if he's not in melee range auto Q auto and so on, if he's in your melee range you may want to start with a Q and then auto. (you can use W anywhere between those high mechanic explainations).

Another key core for a Teemo main (and this one I say with no sarcasm) si to know the duration of his auto attack animations, and by doing so to know how to don't cancel his auto with his Q, you can practice it in practic tool. As an homework actually GO RIGHT NOW IN PRACTICE TOOL AND DO IT ON A DUUMY: auto Q auto Q auto Q
there is an example, but with flash and ignite too. (also good to mention if you made Q fast enough you can auto again, which is a good way to play with electro with auto Q auto, but what you will see there is just a fast way to execute low hp enemies)

Against some hard matchups you may want to just spam Q to poke/farm tho and freeze the lane, since many champions can abuse an teemo and bust him down.

After level 6 your main problem will be to place shrooms in a perfect place, a good teemo will always find the best locations to them, obviously it seems easy, but you may want consider few things while placing them, and ask it yourself:
1. Why do you place it there? Guess I do not have to say it, but shrooms are an extremly precious resource, and even if their cooldown seems like nothing compared with their duration, you still can't just spam there whenever you can. Their cost mana is kind of issue to start with, so you have to place them with a reason (whatever it may be vision or just pushing your lane, it is still something you use it for) but, the idea is, if you do not have any usage for them and you are not having 3 in store, then don't hurry up to get rid of them. You can see at SKILLS some example of how you can use them.
2. Are shrooms to close one of each other? That probably is the most important thing, you will never want 2 mushrooms at a small distance of each other, that from multiple reasons, 1. the damage is not stacking, so if an enemy step in multiple shrooms at a just second distance that is completly worthless, 2. Enemies will always use at least an oracle, or control ward to get rid of your shrooms, so having multiple shrooms close to each other will just make their cleaning much easier. 3. You cover a lot of less space (obviously) so in consequince you have less presures or oportunities.
3. how much time is remaning until a shroom will expire? If your mushrooms in a key location are about to expire (like less than 30s) it may be a good idea to put a shroom close to it, btw your toplane is not a key location, dont spam shrooms there you will just **** your waves with it. a key location would be somewhere around baron or drake, that include the jungle.

Well Im to lazy to go an long on text so there will be all you need to know in a image.* you can choose and from alerdy existing items, for ex, if you build void and skip rabadon, would be pretty stupid to not build it at the worst last item, even if, if enemies dont have any resists, you should rush it to abuse it as much as possible
