Threats & Synergies
Aatrox spanks, HARD. You've got to be really good at dodging his Q's and W to win trades and even then if he R's just dip. Bramble Vest and Ninja Tabi are highly recommended here. Try and survive your lane and in team fights do your utmost to peel him away (By goo-flinging him and whatnot). Your W cancels his ability to E. Moved to a Major threat from Extreme due to his recent nerfs. (Which seem to keep on coming, RIP Aatrox)
Her charm is relatively easy to dodge, without her E she can't do much to you. Your W cancels her ability to cast R so keep that in mind when you're chasing.
Akali can be a pain to play against, but she can't cast her E or R whilst standing on your W. She can be solo killed if you can tank her damage but is easy enough to play against as you outdamage her early with your E. Most Akali's outplay themselves but if given the chance to combo you, it's hard not to die.
Can be really disruptive and can cancel you when you're trying to run rings around people, but nothing too scary. Your W cancels his W.
Really good at locking down Singed unless you can dodge his Q. Fling him away from your team in teamfights and you should be golden. Your W cancels his Q.
Who? Anivia's anti-siege mechanics (Q stun, W wall, and R slow) are really damaging to Singed. You can't run through her wall and the slow is punishing. Q is easy to dodge but it's difficult to actually engage on her as Singed.
If you can tank her damage early/mid game you should be able to steamroll her. She hasn't really got any escapes other than flash so is easy to gank.
I still haven't learned all of his abilities, however you should be able to run him down so long as he doesn't have the rapid fire weapon equipped. There's little more to say about Aphelios.
Her slows are oppressive and her R makes it risky trying to get close to her. However if you flash fling her into your team she can't recover.
Aurelion should be a tiny/minor but considering nobody plays him, if you're playing against him he's most likely an Aurelion main. Dodge his Q and R and he's easy to get onto, once flung he's as good as dead. Your W cancels his E.
Azir can slap you from afar and his W Q E combo is a great escape mechanism against Singed. Additionally Singed has nothing in his kit to counteract Azir's R. To my knowledge, your W should cancel his E.
Dodge his Q and he's useless. His R is easy to dodge and sometimes his E can be useful for escaping. To my knowledge, your W does stop his E, but should be thrown at the entrance of the portal to prevent enemies using it.
In all my experience of playing Singed, I have never considered Blitzcrank to be a problem, in most cases it's fine to get hooked because then you can fling him or a nearby enemy into your team.
Q and W are easy enough to dodge, beyond that Brand doesn't do much. Unless your bot/mid fed him lol.
His Q can be devastating as well as his R, both abilities I struggle to dodge. His E doesn't absolutely nothing when fighting Singed and you can cancel his W with your W.
Traps are a nightmare and her long range and E makes it difficult to get onto her. Try to facetank her ult if you can, your regen should be enough to get you back into the fight whereas if it hits an ally they might be sent out of the teamfight. Your W cancels her E.
Camille is the dominant mommy figure we all wa- hate. She will outdamage you in lane and her E is very difficult to dodge for the most part. You can fling her out of her R to cancel it which is nice. As of a recent patch, you can cancel her from using her E whilst standing on your W. Updated to Extreme due to alcove synergy 20/11/19
Ground gang. She slaps hard and her passive/phase rush means she can keep up with you. Dodge her Q and stay out of her W to have a fighting chance from my experience. Rylai's is really useful here to slow her down when she chases you.
Q is easy to dodge and his W doesn't stop your Q toggle. Meme champ into Singed, just don't get R'd whilst trolling under tower.
Corki hits hard and his Q is hard to dodge, his R means he can bonk you from afar and his W lets him disengage pretty well. Your W cancels his W however.
TAKE PHASE RUSH! Don't smash your keyboard. Darius is extremely difficult for all Singed players to deal with, don't try to fight Darius as he will almost always win the trades. Peel him off your team in team fights and he shouldn't be able to do too much. Proxy is recommended here. Your W prevents Darius from being able to R, which is useful when you know he's going for an all-in.
Dodge her Q and you'll be fine, to my knowledge your W should cancel her R but there might be some spaghetti code at play with that interaction.
Mundo is a bit of a meme but it's tricky to really do anything against him. His R outruns your R, his Q chunks you if you're going tanky. Best to shove lane and try your best to peel him off your team in teamfights.
DRAAAAAAAAVVVVVVEEEEEEENNNNNN hits hard and his E is really good against Singed. However if his E is down you only need to W him to get onto him. Once flung your team should be able to follow up on him. Thormail is great against him and negates a lot of the threat he poses.
Your W cancels Ekko's E (And R?) I hardly see Ekko anymore in any role and so don't have much to say regarding playing against him.
Mercury's Treads are really good against Elise, she's a lot squishier than most realise so can potentially be a free kill if the gank isn't perfect. Your W cancels her E in spider form.
Hits like a truck, dodge her Q when you've got her W debuff and you might be able to turn the fight around considering how squishy she is. Best thing to do against Eve is to go aggro in lane to get an advantage so when she ganks the top laner is weakened and you can maybe shut her down a bit, although this is very risky behaviour.
His E cancels your E, but your W cancels his E. So swings and roundabouts. Dodge his Q and you're fine but that's basically like saying "Run through a battlefield and don't get shot".
The reworked Fiddlesticks is still annoying to play against, his Q is pretty much the same but damages now. His W execute is what scares me the most, and his E is tricky to dodge. R is the same. Best bet is to throw W on yourself when you know he's ulting at you so he's redundant when he ults onto your W, alternatively your W can be used to cancel his R.
Horrible lane, her W cancels your E and will stun you so bait it out by running alongside her and essentially play "Chicken". As soon as she R's you, R and run for the hills, when her ult is on you your main aim to just get out of there. Your W cancels her Q.
Dodge the R and Fizz is useless unless very fed, your W cancels his Q and E (Unless spaghetti code interferes)
Very disruptive but it's normally not enough. Your E can cancel his E and in the 9.14 will also cancel his W if it hasn't been wound up long enough.
He will spam Q on you but if you can last hit barrels you're fine. His W can't cancel your E. Beware of playing this lane as proxy because a good GP player will ult you as you execute to get free kills. I'd suggest dorans shield start to negate his Q's damage.
Garen slaps hard, flinging him isn't that useful because it just means he e's the wave and you. His true damage ult cancels your tankiness for the most part but in teamfights throwing your W on him is usually enough to stop him from being effective. Awful lane though. 09/11/19 Bumped Garen up to 5 because his Conq build is extremely strong. 24/05/20 Bumped Garen down to 4 because his Conq build has fallen out of fashion
Smash your keyboard it's justified. Gnar is an awful lane, he pokes you out of lane constantly and his E is the perfect escape. Very tricky to flip. Wait for his Mega Gnar before you can do anything and even then it's risky. Your W can cancel his E in both forms, but is generally too slow. Riot is slowly buffing Mega Gnar, so soon Gnar might be bumped up to being an EXTREME threat.
Not that threatening, you can cancel his E with your W. He's disruptive but generally speaking dodgable.
Relatively hot garbage, he doesn't have any hard CC to lock you down so is easy to get away from. Your W cancels his E, just don't be stupid early and you'll be fine.
Outruns you. If you've got ghost and he has ghost make sure you ghost AFTER him. Whoever ghosts last always wins. Your W should cancel his R but it's a slow ability so most times he can R before your W registers.
Can't get near him because of the turret harassment. Dodge everything you can but the best case scenario is to proxy.
If you can dodge her E's you'll go even, if not you're in for a world of hurt. You can bait her into ulting by running right into her most of the time and then running straight past her as she ults, but it's risky business. A few too many tentacles can ruin your lane so always be looking to AA her tentacles to death.
Dodging her E is easy and her Q can be cancelled by your W. When she R's you and Q's onto you, fling her the other way and run through the opening of the R.
Dodge Q and he might as well be terrain.
She has really good peel which can stop Singed in his tracks, but if you manage to fling her she's a free kill.
OK YEAH NICE RIOT FOR SOME REASON J4'S E Q COMBO ISN'T REGARDED AS A DASH AND SO HE CAN DO IT ON YOUR W. Dodging the E Q combo is paramount, and flinging him out of his R makes him pretty redundant. He can be flung mid E Q to cancel the combo.
Whenever Jax says "Imagine if I had a real weapon" I think "Imagine if I played a real champion" because Jax slaps fast and hard. Bramble is good here, your W cancels his Q and in most cases your passive lets you outrun the range of his E, especially if you run at him, get the move speed, fling him and walk out.
Submit to the hammer. His E in hammer form is basically a better Singed E and his damage is bonkers. He has all the hard to fight qualities of an AD bruiser whilst also having the hard qualities of an AD ranged. You likely won't win this lane and that's alright. Jayce falls off if you keep him in lane, just weather the storm.
Easy to dodge his stuff and has no escape.
Hits hard and her E prevents you from getting close.
Her mixed damage makes building against her difficult, in theory your W should cancel her ability to R but I've never seen it done in practice.
Can easily out-kite you but your W cancels her passive. Recently Kalista has been a monster top laner. I feel sorry for you if you have to lane it.
Even with her buffs reverted, Karma has a perfect anti-Singed kit. I normally dodge when it becomes apparent it's a Karma top in champ select.
Karthus doesn't really do anything, if he's jungle just kill him when he ganks if you can, it'll put him far too behind to be relevant.
Outscales Singed pretty hard, will clap you at around 30 mins if the game lasts. Your W cancels his R though which is nice.
Someone always gets fed, just fling her when she R's. Your W cancels her E.
Both tiny and extreme. Pre 6 she kisses your feet, then post 6 you kiss hers. As of 10.18, she'll be a lot more present in lane, so you might just be kissing her feet the entire game. This remains to be seen however.
Dodge his W and he's worthless, your W cancels his E (And will pull him out of terrain).
OH GOD OH NO OH GOD OH NO If you win lane you're a God or he's first time Kennen. Dodge his Q and try to play as passive as you can, no point trying to flip him because he'll zoom away.
Your W cancels his E, never been nuked by a Kha whilst playing Singed so I don't regard him as much of a threat.
You can fling people out of their R, your W cancels their Q. Nothing too scary.
Kled will bully you so much, but considering you're playing Singed you're probably used to that. Fling him when he E's or to get his Q out of range. Your W cancels his E. His Q since 9.14 counters your R with the healing reduction.
Just fling him he has no escape mechanism.
Slippery and nearly impossible to fling, throw your W where she jumped from with her W so when she tries to fake you out she's super slow, or alternatively she doesn't fake you out because she sees you W her W spot.
Lee can't blow you up very easily, your W cancels his Q second cast and his W first cast.
Lots of people play Leona, but she doesn't really do much to stop Singed. Her stuns aren't enough to prevent you from running down the enemy team.
Liss can shut you down with her W and R, additionally the slow from her Q is a pain. You can cancel her E with your W.
Lillia's movespeed and trading patterns makes it really difficult to lane her, and her passive makes it so she can continually chunk us. Your W prevents her W but it's a tough fighting pattern to adapt to.
Outside of lane Lucian falls off. Your W cancels his E. Nothing much else to say regarding this champ.
Her polymorph is awful, and if you ever have the misfortune of playing against an attack speed Lulu top you're going to get destroyed in most cases. Really tricky to get onto Lulu as Singed unless you Rightous Glory all in her.
Her Q hitbox is a bit messed up but generally speaking she's dodgable- as long as she misses her Q you can run up on her.
Always seems like an easy lane but Malphite out-damages you early on (If he takes comet) and using your E on him either puts him in closer range to R your team or allows him to E your minion wave. To my knowledge your W cannot stop his R, but this might be due to spaghetti code. (UPDATE: it was spaghetti code and has been fixed)
Voidlings usually die to your poison but his Q E and R are all extremely oppressive to Singed's playstyle. If you run up on him he'll Q or R you to stop you from flinging, if you're proxy his E is super strong at forcing you to delay longer before an execute (Which makes it even riskier to aim for an execute) as the DoT from his E lengthens the time you're "In combat" and so you have to wait 13 seconds after the last tick of the DoT to execute. His R completely stops you in teamfights. Cleanse might work out in this match up but is still risky. Your W can cancel is passive.
Singed really struggles with killing Maokai, as do all champions. If you fling him he'll just W Q you and win the trade, he has super high sustain so whittling him down isn't an option, his R allows him to be relevant in teamfights even if you fling him away from your team. Your W cancels his W.
If Master Yi gets fed there's not much you can do, when he goes for an all-in try and goo fling him to prevent his chances of getting an R reset. Your W should cancel his Q, however I have never pulled it off/noticed when I have. Bramble is great here.
Easy enough to run down and gets devastated by your E during teamfights.
Relatively easy laning phase if you know how to dodge his Q and E, but will keep you on your toes the entire time. His passive + Conqueror is ridiculous and will destroy you if you let him proc it. During his ultimate if you can't goo fling him you're most likely dead.
Morgana is a high threat not based on her kill-potential but rather on her capacity to cancel you out. Her E removes the pressure you have from your E, as well as her Q and R being great tools for shutting you down in a teamfight.
If you can dodge her Q/fake it out then she's as good as dead, however there are a lot of good Nami's on ladder so the likelihood of you dodging her bubble is relatively low.
TAKE PHASE RUSH! If you proxy he will free stack, if you lane he will oppress you. His W is excellent at shutting you down in teamfights and his raid-boss status midway through the game is something Singed can't handle. The most you can do if Nasus gets ahead is goo fling and hope to kill the squishier enemies. Don't forget that his E shreds armour so most trades with Nasus are losing ones, on top of this his passive healing outscales your Corrupting Potion.
Although Nautilus has the most CC in the game, he shouldn't be seen as too threatening. You can still do Singed things even if he combo's you, and if you're fast enough you can E him just after he Q's onto you to avoid the AA snare. Your W cancels his Q.
Tons of damage. Will likely slap you and won't let you get into fling range unless she's a bad player. Neeko will absolutely shut down any attempt at doing anything, extremely oppressive lane.
Relatively easy to fight when she ganks you, your W cancels her cougar form W. Doesn't pose much of a threat so long as you dodge her human form Q.
His spellshield, Q, and R all make for a difficult fight. You have to bait his spellshield before flinging him, and with his Q and R you struggle to run away from him. To my knowledge your W can prevent him from second casting his R.
Nunu & Willump
Rough and tumble but doesn't have the damage to be a big issue. When he snowballs into lane throw your W on him and walk around the snowball, it's tricky for him to land it whilst slowed.
His Q is great for chasing you down, his W allows him to regen after chasing you down, and his E negates the stat buff you get from your R. Add onto this his R cancelling your W and E and you've found yourself in a horrendous lane. Bramble is recommended here.
Orianna poses little threat to Singed, so long as you can dodge her Q she's normally a free fling and once flung she is too squishy to recover.
Your W cancels his E and DOESN'T cancel his R second cast. You can't fight Ornn as he's too tanky and if he lands his W AA on you, you insta lose the trade. When trading fling and run through him rather than staying. His W cancels your E whilst it's active.
Extremely oppressive early lane but you outscale. Play the lane passive and try not to get too close to him, take some Q's whilst farming closer to your tower if you need to, you'll start winning by roaming midgame. Your W cancels his W, unless spaghetti code interferes.
Step on her passive and you win the trades, other than that a very boring lane.
Too squishy to be seriously threatening. Beware of his E however as you might fling him into stunning a teammate. Your W can cancel his E
Qiyana can be punished pretty hard when she jumps on you by flinging her. If you're laning her hold the wave closer to your tower so if she tries anything you can throw her into tower range. Your W can cancel her leap.
Oppressive lane and outroams you easily. Her Q makes it hard to get near her and once you are near her she has her E. You CAN cancel her E with your E, to do this with 100% success just press E on her, you'll start to run at her and if she uses her E on you you'll automatically E her as she gets in range. I advise aftershock here because once you cancel her E with your E and you have the Aftershock proc on you're able to destroy her. Your W can cancel her R whilst she's channeling it In 10.9 Quinn is getting a buff to her Shortsight duration on her Q, this makes it harder to abuse the E cancel with your E as if you have Shortsight you can't do it.
Pretty much a useless champion into Singed. Your W cancels his W and E.
Using your E on Rammus as he taunts you will keep you walking the way you want to go, rather than towards the enemy. Additionally your E cancels his Q. He stacks armour so you almost always do lots of damage to him.
If Rek'Sai ganks, stay in your minions and kite. Rek'Sai is only useful in the gank if she lands her knock up so avoid that at all costs, additionally using your E will unearth her prematurely which takes away a lot of pressure. Normally an easy kill if they commit to the gank for too long.
Rell is amazing against Singed, her ability to steal defensive stats makes her an excellent counter to Singed- what you have to look out for when playing against her is that she steals your stats BEFORE you use your R, so if you use your R afterwards you're at least recuperating some defensive stats. She's very disruptive and insanely tanky so you'll have to try and avoid her for the most part in teamfights. You can prevent her mounted form E with your W, and if she's dismounted she's pretty free to catch- though tanky as all hell.
Smash your keyboard and punch a hole in your monitor. Renekton can all-in and kill you at level 3. Your E cancels his E but generally speaking your lane is always lost. Hug tower and pray to God in this lane. Bramble mandatory unless you get an early lead.
Can be flung mid-leap for some wacky interactions. Generally speaking an easy kill if he ganks you so long as he doesn't land either his E or empowered E. Can be baited into jumping from the closest top lane bush into you flinging him under tower range. Laning against Rengar you should avoid those top brushes and hard shove the lane if he's not too oppressive. A Rengar under tower is much nicer than one with access to bushes.
Your W cancels her Q and E, and your E can cancel her final Q and E. At level 6 she will use all of her abilities in one go and kill you if you're not careful, and depending on how good the Riven is you might get destroyed the entire laning phase. Peel for your team and you should be fine, she can't engage whilst on your W.
Rumble hits hard but is too immobile to out-roam you, hard shove him and roam as much as possible, you'll outscale. As of 10.18 his Q does more damage, so you'll likely be in a shove-war with him.
Oof ouch please don't hit me with another ability owie. Ryze hits hard and continuously, his W denies you from getting onto him (Most of the time) and even then he itemises relatively tanky and proves hard to kill. Expect a LOT of harassment from this lane.
From the looks of it, she's going to be a success in top lane as a quasi-ranged champ, that Singed will struggle to deal with. Your W prevents her E.
She is literally just a better Sona, if you can catch up with her using your W then more often than not you can crush her, but her R is extremely disruptive and she has a surprising damage output so you can't just run at her- sidestepping her R and snare is essential to catching her, though often it's more useful to focus on another squishy on the enemy team as supports aren't the priority most of the time in teamfights.
I 1 v 1'd a Sejuani recently where I stood there AAing her with my Q on. Dodge her W and she's useless. Your W cancels her Q.
Sett is really strong in close-range combat, you beat him if he misses his E and if you kite him (Which is pretty easy to do). I'd suggest getting Rylais first to really empower your kiting. If he gets close range he hits you like a train so watch out for that, and try not to trade too much in lane.
A real pain to play against if you're proxy, and is really difficult to kill even when laning. Your W cancels his Q but he has too many tricks up his sleeve for it to be viable to chase him down.
Your W cancels his E and (Used to?) cancel his R. Your E still cancels his R. He does a lot of damage and can be a real pain to play against, but so long as you can dodge his E you can get away with doing whatever you want in lane. Just make sure to fling him anytime he R's, if he's smart he'll try to hide but if you have good enough map awareness (There's a purple effect on the minimap when he's teleporting around a person) you should be able to find him and cancel him. Be prepared for the Shen to go nuts on you though.
She struggles to do much against Singed, not really anything of note to say about the interactions between Shyvana and Singed.
Blind pick was a mistake...
Sion is pretty much unkillable without jungler help. Other than that his Q is easy to dodge as well as his E, shouldn't pose much kill-pressure either way. Updated to Major due to alcove synergy 20/11/19
Sivir is busted right now, and to add a spellshield on top of that makes her a strong pick against Singed. Her R allows her to counteract your R movespeed making her slippery to get onto.
Who? Skarner struggles to catch up with you and if he R's you in a teamfight it only takes the pressure off the backline.
Sona can't get away unless she uses her R or flash, this makes her easy pickings for the most part.
Similar to Sona except she doesn't even have her R to stop Singed. You should be fast enough to run through her E and her Q is easy to predict.
Can be really oppressive in lane, and there's not much Singed can do against him. When he R's in teamfights goo fling him to neutralise the threat.
Your W cancels his E first cast, but other than that there's little to say regarding this match up other than "Dodge his Q and E".
Syndra is hard to get onto, but if you wait until she uses her combo on your mid laner then she's a free gank.
Tahm will slap you silly and he's too tanky for you to do anything about it. Singed really really sucks into this frog.
If I recall correctly your W knocks her off her R. She has a lot of abilities to dodge but the main one is her W, don't get hit by that and you should be fine.
Can't use his lunge Q or E whilst on your W, does a lot of damage but shouldn't be able to nuke you unless already fed.
E is easy to dodge and doesn't really contribute much to the team which would help in cancelling you.
Absolute hell pre-6. Once you hit level 6 press R and all in, supposing both of you are full HP and both have all summs you should always win. If you don't take this powerspike you'll likely get further behind and lose lane hard.
His kit is good at preventing you from flinging him, but not his allies. You can use your E whilst someone is mid-lantern journey to cancel it, however I've only pulled this off once.
Your W cancels her W as well as your E (If you time it correctly). In both cases she should be easy to kill unless she R flashes away.
Will bonk the life out of you if you're not careful. Bramble is good here. MAKE SURE TO ONLY ULT AFTER HE ULTS AS HE WILL STEAL MORE STATS FROM YOU IF YOU ULT FIRST.
Your W cancels his E. If you're proxying against Trynda beware that he only needs to get his W off on you to get the kill over an execute. It's stupid coding but it is what it is. Play passive against him because if RNGesus decides to give him 4 crits in a row you're stuffed. Bramble works well here.
TF doesn't have the oomph to be a big threat, you can dodge his Q pretty easily and can run away/reposition well enough that his gold card isn't so bad.
Really damaging as an early jungler, but can be ran-down mid to late game.
If he ganks you don't mess around with 1 v 2's as I've suggested with other junglers. He'll slap you and give you the Trick2G special (Of smashing you like his keyboard).
Can't run rings around him because he will bonk you loads with his SHOTGUN KNEES, he will normally wait for you to initiate so if you do throw your W on him beforehand just so he can't use his E. The only real way to win a 1 v 1 is to dodge his R, E, and Q. Really tricky lane to deal with, a lot of people pick Urgot to counter Singed.
Oh hey it's that TFT character. Varus poses near to no threat in his current state. Run him down and he can't do anything (Other than maybe R you).
"Better Vayne wins" -Singed420 Vayne is really good against Singed for her W and R+Q combo, however when you run up to her to fling she will almost certainly use her E to condemn you, there is a brief window in that animation where you can fling her meaning both of you get pushed back, essentially nullifying her E. Relatively easy to pull off. Laning vs her is almost definitely an instantly lost lane though.
Some people take cleanse for Veigar games, without his E he's useless against Singed. Fling him and you're sorted.
Such long range that it's tricky to get anywhere near him, would recommend flash flinging to get him out of the fight (Supposing your team is near to follow up).
Easy money. Your W cancels her Q, use this to bait her into killing herself when she ganks: Have her wind up Q when she's ganking then cancel it and follow up by flinging her, she has nothing left to fight with (Unless she has R) so she's almost completely useless. I love to see Vi's on the enemy team.
His W is annoying but other than that he's catchable and useless after being flung.
Vlad is tricky because he will W when you go in for an E and will steal your health after every trade. Really tricky to play against unless you get jungler help.
The new Volibear is rough. His Q will get reset if you fling him before he uses his Q on something, which gives him a great gap closer post-fling, so watch out! When fighting him, try to extend the trades so when he W's you, you wait for the W buffer to wear out before you go near him again, but generally you should lose all trades with Voli, he's too tanky dude!
When proxying this is the worst jungler to go against, he will run you down pretty easily and ruin your strat. Laning normally he's a pain too but to a lesser extent. Shouldn't be anything to worry about though. His Q can cancel your E as during his Q he is immune to displacements, so your E will be used and do the damage, but won't fling him.
Pretty much never seen, just don't be silly and fling his W or something and you should be fine. He will try and all-in you at level 6 but doesn't have the damage to break through your R. The second cast of his R can be a pain, so try to get distance inbetween R's.
Can put you in a really sticky situation when you go to fling her and she R's, but normally she doesn't have the necessary follow up damage to punish you.
Put your dancing shoes on for this guy because you're gonna have to dodge a lot of stuff. His E is the most important to dodge because that's what stops you from flinging him, beyond that he has no escapes and so a misplaced Xerath can single handedly win you the teamfight.
Xin can't keep up with you if you pop your R, but he can get some good damage in. Your W cancels his E but he can deal a lot of damage really quickly if you don't respect him enough.
Yasuo is already a coinflip champion, but seeing as you pop his passive with your Q (Making it redundant) as well as being able to cancel his E and R with your W, he's hot garbage.
Singed's Q does hardly any damage to Yorick's ghouls, and they hit hard. If you get caught in Yorick's wall you're going to be taking tons of damage. Additionally you can't proxy against Yorick because as soon as he hits level 6 he will cast his ult for the permanent push.
Another Yasuo, you can prevent him from using his E and R (And Q dash) with your W, if you catch him out with your W he's done for.
Bad champion, if you fling the adc or whoever Yuumi is attached to you're basically throwing two champions. When the person flung is killed Yuumi is in an awful spot and is easy to kill off too. When Yuumi ults try to flip her/the champ she's on so that the AOE snare misses your team. Your W cancels her ability to latch onto people.
You can cancel his E with your W, sleeper champion so you're unlikely to bump into him on ladder. He doesn't do enough damage and his E is easy to dodge so don't get scared when he flies into lane.
Your W cancels his ability to recast W or recast R, generally speaking he won't have enough damage to combo you down (Especially if you've used your R). The trick to dealing with Zed is predicting where his W will go, and avoiding his W E Q combo, to do this you want to run towards his W but to the side of it as he's throwing his W out, so that he Q's away from you and his E misses.
His W and E are good for disengaging from a Singed, and his poke with his abilities are very oppressive. Easy enough to run down if you dodge the satchel.
His slow takes you out of the fight (Similar to Nasus' wither). Hard to catch but relatively useless in every other regard. If he ults the person you fling they're going to revive in the middle of your team so it's a wasted ult. 24/05/20 Bumped Zilean up to 4, had underestimated his capacity to ruin your game
Lots of cases where Zoe players will aggressively R forward, in which case you can fling her and ruin her day if you're fast enough. She isn't seen much but doesn't pose much of a problem for Singed.
Her E and R cancel you out completely, really oppressive champion for Singed, however if you dodge the E she's normally a free kill (Similar to Lux).
Amumu's passive allows allied AP champs to do more damage to enemies Amumu attacks, this also applies to anyone hit by his R, which helps Singed get a lot more damage in teamfights with his Q.
Alistar is great for E-cancelling and can set up a lot of situations where he W's the enemy to you, you use your E on the enemy, and then they're so far out of position that they're a free kill.
His E is great for E-cancelling and his Q mixed with your E can be devastating
Her E works with Singed Q, so she'll get resets for it using Singed's Q (As it's classed as a poison).
Ivern's Q is perfect for you to jump into a fight and fling (It's basically a free flash fling), and his E on you whilst you run into a teamfight makes it so easy to outrun everyone. Highly underrated synergy.
Move speed passive and shields, need I say more.
Great for E cancelling
Has a stun and a hook, both useful things for catching people in teamfights. Just make sure you don't E the enemy out of his R!
Two flings is better than one
Hook is useful for catching people, and his Q and E both work when E-cancelling an enemy.
Slap this cat on Singed and watch him 2 v 5, everything in Yuumi's kit is great on Singed when initiating, and cleaning up, teamfights. (Also works really well when you're crazy enough to play Singed ADC)

Champion Build Guide
This guide is an ongoing work in progress, and won't be finished until I have detailed accounts of how to counteract every top lane and mid lane match-up.
Before getting into this guide, I would like to do two things, firstly I would like to acknowledge and thank the thriving die-hard Singed mains community, I am honoured to have found such a wonderful collective of passionate players who fly the flags of Singed. Thank you for your continued efforts in grinding out solo queue, brainstorming builds and runes, figuring out unique ways of dealing with tricky match-ups, and most of all thank you for accepting me into this fantastic community. Secondly, I feel I should justify why you should take my word for what's written in this guide, I am the leading "researcher" of Singed within the Reddit/Discord Singed community, I frequently watch what the high-elo players are doing and do personal coaching reviews for players who are having trouble on Singed (Free of charge just message me on the Discord). I'm certain that, through my research, and the plethora of high-elo (d1+) Singed players who are helping to give me data on the champ/meta, I have been able to create the most accurate guide to Singed that has ever existed. This isn't to toot my own horn, as it really is a group effort, but I have a lot of confidence that this guide details everything that there is to know about Singed to help you climb. Singed is one of the most fun, and definitely the most unique, champion in League of Legends. Players in every elo fear and respect Singed mains because we are so seldom seen, and once you've figured out how to play Singed you bring so much pressure to a game that you completely warp the dynamic of it. I am here to bring that chaos into your already chaotic solo queue games.
At this point you've likely played a few games of Singed, and more than likely you've gone 0/11. You will feed enough in your first 20 or so games as Singed to solve world hunger, and that's perfectly fine and necessary for learning Singed. Why is it necessary? Well, what hurts teaches. You're going to Fling people and as soon as you Fling them you're going to realise "That was a huge mistake", and so you won't Fling those people in the same way again. With each mistaken Fling you'll get better at using Singed's Fling. The same applies to figuring out how much damage you deal/take and how you can push Singed to his limits.
Once you've fed to the point of thinking "This champion is garbage" you're ready to get good at Singed. So long as you follow the itemisation I've set out, as well as taking the safe runes, you'll be half-way there, however there is a big portion of being good at Singed which can't be learned from a guide and that is knowing what to do and when. Watching streamers such as Minishcap1, Tommy309, Rob8, and SirhcEz will help you a lot in understanding when to fight and when to back off, when to proxy and when not to, when to type TOMMY 3 0 9 in all chat and when not to, but most importantly, when to emote spam.
A lot of the less threatening match-ups (Threat 3 and below) can be fought from level 1 whilst you hard shove with your Poison Trail, the first minion of the second wave should be your priority when it comes. The ideal scenario is having that first minion of the second wave die to your Poison Trail whilst you're fighting the enemy top laner so that you get your level 2 and Fling, most players don't respect the damage a Flash Fling AA Ignite can do, with first blood you can get a recall in after shoving the third wave, and buy Boots and maybe another Doran's Ring/ Refillable Potion. An alternative way to start the lane is to stand in the furthest brush in top lane (The closest to the enemy tower), when the enemy minions run up you walk out of the brush and keep pulling their aggro in and out of the brush to get them clumped up in that part of the lane, when you run out and in the brush don't use your Poison Trail, last hit minions with your AA's and try and keep a slow push going till the third wave (Cannon wave), when that wave arrives you hard shove with your Poison Trail and Fling on the cannon minion, this shoves 2-3 waves of your minions into your enemies tower, which gives you a free recall to go buy items and get back to lane before minions get to your tower.
What I just described is the optimal start to a Singed game, but what if you goof and die to your laner? What you want to do when you're behind is 2 things. Ignore your laner exists (Within reason), if they start spanking you just run back to safety, don't try to scrap with them further because you'll likely lose the trades once they're ahead. Secondly, if you're getting really dunked on, build defensively and look to help the jungler with skirmishes/look to gank mid (Just to get yourself back in the game if your laner is too strong/good). If both of these approaches fail, go deep on the first option and start to proxy (Which I will get onto later). Forget about laning and just get your CS from behind their towers, if they chase they lose CS and tower health which helps negate the lead they had originally by generating counter-pressure from you forcing them away from defending their tower. Of course this is extremely risky because if they kill you during your proxy you're adding to the problem, and if their jungler decides to camp you whilst you proxy you're going to have gotten two enemies ahead. Proxying in this scenario is a high risk, high reward tactic.
From roughly 15-25 minutes you're in the mid game. I will be supposing that your build progress is that you've got your Mythic item and you've potentially upgraded boots. At this point in the game you should be constantly looking at the map for skirmishes/teamfights. For the most part you leave top lane in the mid game to go assist your team in fights and securing dragon/mid tower/bot tower. Most top laners opt to stay in lane and take your tower, which gives you a good window of opportunity to take control of the map as 5 v 4, get some picks with Flash Fling to pressure objectives and try to get your jungle/mid/adc kills so that they can snowball the game (If they're not already). Singed struggles to carry games, he can be extremely disruptive and delay carries from ending the game, but where Singed shines is getting his other laners fed. Initiating fights and getting picks is your main job in the mid game and you essentially become a Fling Bot in the river/jungle area unless you're ahead. Singed is pretty awful at pushing towers and so it is a waste to remain in lane permanently, you want to abuse Singed's capacity to hard-shove top lane to roam around the map, much like how a Talon, Zed, Qiyana, Taliyah, etc. hard-shove their lanes so that they can roam to different lanes or jungle skirmishes to get their team ahead. This is the tip of the iceberg of why Singed is extremely weird, as he is an AP tank top laner who has a similar playstyle to AD assassins and mid laners in the mid game. If you're running Teleport, use it to join team fights rather than to Teleport back to lane.
By the time you reach 30+ minutes Singed goes one of two ways. You either become completely useless other than being an occasional Fling Bot. Or you become an unstoppable, unkillable God. The conditions for this coinflip are mainly created by the team comps and who scales harder and when and so on. It also relies on how you itemise. For example if you go Turbo Chemtank against an ADC that scales well then you're probably going to be the unstoppable God rather than becoming useless because you'll be able to catch them and lock them down in teamfights. Additionally your main priority in the late game is peeling for your carries, make sure to use your Fling to get enemies away from your team (Unless they're squishies) as the later you get into the game the more likely it is that your ADC/Mid will be targeted by bruisers/assassins and so you should prioritise protecting them with your Mega Adhesive and Fling and potentially the slow from your Poison Trail if you have Rylai's Crystal Scepter.
Early game is a lot of fun because nobody knows who the feeders are yet. Here are the early game items I recommend so that you don't end up being one of them.
|Doran's Ring is definitely the best starting item in Season 11 for Singed, the mana back per minion kill passive is exceptionally strong on Singed as very often you will be killing minions with your Q, and to have roughly 25% of your Q cost refunded is insane (I say 25% as, although you get 6 mana back per minion and your Q is 13 mana, you'll normally need to take 2-3 puffs of Q to kill the minions (If we exclude auto attacks)). You shouldn't be running into mana issues with this item, and the extra damage to minions with auto attacks helps a lot.|
|Corrupting Potion is one of three routes you might want to take on your first back, you'll be picking this up if you need extra sustain in lane, so for example if you're against a ranged top laner you might opt for Corrupting Potion so you can stay in lane longer and sustain more poke.|
|Boots are useful if you're trying to play proxy, if you pick up Boots on your first back (After the first three waves of proxy) then you should have roughly 200 gold left, I'd suggest if you're buying boots to pick up Refillable Potion and perhaps a Vision Ward on top of this.|
|Build Mercury's Treads if you're going against heavy CC/oppressive AP.|
|Plated Steelcaps if you're against AA abusers/oppressive AD. Simple as that.|
If you want to climb I wouldn't recommend any other boots as they're mainly for fun and don't translate well into how this guide plays Singed.
|Turbo Chemtank seems like it was designed for Singed, thematically and practically it's a great item for him- you want to build the Bami's Cinder part of the item first. It says on the LoL wiki that the movespeed effect applies to all towers, though this is only the case for enemy towers, Turbo Chemtank works really well when you're proxying because it gives you amazing extra clear (You essentially spend no time clearing the minions now, so you can play around with vision in the enemy jungle a lot more to make your proxying a lot more threatening when they don't know where you are). There is also the added bonus of being able to speed past your laner if the enemy jungler comes to catch you as you'll get a movespeed boost as you're moving towards the enemy tier 1 tower, so in a lot of cases from experience I've been able to escape like that. It's also a great engage tool for when you're not proxying, and I genuinely think it's up there as one of the best Mythics for Singed|
|Riftmaker If you're not happy with playing tank, Riftmaker is one of the only AP Mythic items that is good on Singed, it's like a mini-Conq insofar as it ramps your damage throughout a fight, which can be really useful as the uptime on your damage output in teamfights is really high with the constantly AOE damage from Poison Trail, this is the go-to for playing AP, though it feels lacklustre as of preseason, so some are opting to take things such as Rylai's Crystal Scepter and Demonic Embrace as their first item to have more of an impact early on in the game.|
|Rylai's Crystal Scepter is a fantastic item, in season 10 we would first build this item, and historically it's been one of Singeds favourite items- they made it a tad bit more expensive and gave it an extra 10% slow, which makes it an even better item on Singed. Some people are buying it as their first item and forgoing Mythics altogether. The beauty of Rylai's Crystal Scepter is that it causes your Poison Trail to slow, which helps lock down areas and provides so much utility it's insanely powerful. On Singed you only really care about AP and HP, which this item gives a good amount of in both regards.|
|Demonic Embrace works well with Singeds Poison Trail as it burns the enemy for a percentage of their max health constantly, this is akin to the old Liandry's, which was paired with Rylai's Crystal Scepter as our core build in season 10. This is exactly the same situation, the two items still work well together and work exceptionally well with Singed.|
|Randuin's Omen has been turned into an insane item, the passive- Rock Solid -makes you extremely tank, and the AOE slow that comes with it is useful when you're catching people as unlike Turbo Chemtank you can choose when it detonates. The tank stats feel noticeable, though the health is lacking.|
|Dead Man's Plate is a great tool for catching enemies, the movespeed buff and the empowered AA slow help you flank the enemy squishies and force them into your team. Less armour and more health is something you might want to consider when comparing which armour item to pick up between this and Randuin's Omen. Both can do well in a build if you're playing into full AD, but otherwise you should probably only pick one or the other up as it's overkill to have so many slowing effects.|
|Force of Nature is essentially just an MR version of Dead Man's Plate, you want to be picking this up as your go-to for MR, it's well stated and the movespeed you get from it is great for both engaging and disengaging fights. Not much else to say other than it's a really solid MR item, you might consider picking up Spirit Visage over this if you're being poked down a lot, Force of Nature is more for going in or getting out.|
|Spirit Visage helps you survive AP poke matchups (Think Cassiopeia). You get good sustain from Spectre's Cowl as well as, once full built, the extra base health regen. There's a really useful synergy between Spirit Visage and Insanity Potion where the health regen you gain from Insanity Potion is increased by 25% due to Spirit Visages passive.|
|Zhonya's Hourglass is a great alternative armour item- instead of picking up a full tank item you might want to opt for an AP/armour item instead. Seeker's Armguard is a really amazing armour item on it's own, and is the go-to item for when you're building this. The statis effect of Zhonya's Hourglass can be really useful for preventing certain things (Such as Darius' Noxian Guillotine), and if you've got omnivamp then you'll be healing from your Poison Trail whilst in stasis, which can help with survivability.|
|Abyssal Mask is a great MR tank item that still allows you to do good damage. The idea with this item is that you use your Fling to apply the increased damage debuff, and your team follows up by nuking them, with the increased damage, to get a free kill. The item is primarily useful when you're making picks for your team to finish off as opposed to 1v1 situations, although the increased damage is useful regardless.|
|Morellonomicon has nice stats and is the go-to item for Grevious Wounds, as it applies this debuff on anyone that touches your Poison Trail. It's relatively cheap and makes for a good 3rd/4th item if the enemy team has too much healing (For example Vladimir or Soraka).|
Other items are suggested as niche picks, but they are self-explanatory (For example, Void Staff if you need magic penetration) so I won't be covering them in detail here.
Aftershock is a safe keystone to run on Singed, it makes you really tanky when you Fling someone, so it's a good option for tankiness when engaging a teamfight as well as doing decent damage in the early levels. It's a little bit counter-intuitive to take this keystone however as Fling is your only means of proccing it, which moves the enemy away from your AOE damage from the Aftershock burst effect; this issue can be resolved by remaining close to the enemy, but it's something to note.
Running Nimbus Cloak and Gathering Storm helps with being a useful tank, though you can swap the secondary tree out for the domination tree, with Taste of Blood and Ravenous Hunter.
New to Singed
This runepage is for players who are new to Singed and are trying to learn him. Aftershock lets you make more mistakes because you'll be less likely to die from bad Flings- Font of Life makes you always uesful to your team by adding healing to your Mega Adhesive. The inspiration tree helps you survive in lane, and shouldn't be swapped out until you're comfortable on Singed, which we will look at next.
Comfortable on Singed
You're comfortable on Singed! You're taking your first steps towards being a Singed pro and I've never been more proud of you. We're taking the training wheels off, instead of Font of Life we're taking Demolish for tower gold that'll help you snowball. Additionally, we're swapping out the inspiration tree for the domination tree so we can drain-tank and play with some more sustain in fights.
The Predator build is interesting as it revolves around a roaming playstyle. Your goal with this runepage is to hard shove your wave, then roam for jungle skirmishes and midlane ganks using your Predator active, rinse and repeat. If you can't find an opportunity to gank mid or fight in a jungle skirmish, simply shoving and running into river and looping back to your tower (Or just remaining out of vision) will create a lot of phantom pressure, where the enemy thinks you're running down the river to Predator gank mid etc. when in reality you're doing nothing. It's free pressure, and it's what Singed relies on.
If you're looking to do some good burst damage, Dark Harvest is a good option- it's a nice keystone for scaling (So if your team relies on making it to the late game, you could work alongside that by going Dark Harvest and scaling with them). You do a surprising amount of damage with Dark Harvest, and can catch people off guard, however this comes with the squishiness of the runepage which leaves you as a glass cannon. You can get around this by going off-tank, though this runepage doesn't work very well in higher elos (Above Diamond) as your enemy laner knows how to punish this squishiness too well, and anticipates the Dark Harvest burst damage.
Conqueror has had a terrible fall from grace, I mention this in part as an acknowledgement of our past, and as an acknowledgement of the season 10 playstyle, where you would play Conqueror and try to drain-tank survive and kill everyone with full AP. This is still doable, though it's significantly less effective, however if you are looking for a hit of nostalgia here is the runepage. This is akin to playing Rod of Ages... Rest in Power.
Fleet Footwork is great for when you're playing against ranged top laners, it gives good sustain and you can catch people off guard by AAing a minion to get the speed boost, setting you up for a Fling. Fleet Footwork remains good throughout the game, but is particularly useful during the early game as it keeps you alive in lane. If you're playing against a Vayne or Kayle I would strongly recommend this keystone as it massively dampens the pain of laning them.
Phase Rush is great for playing into Nasus and Darius as you can negate their lockdown capacity, which helps you survive the lane. The slow-negation lets you avoid the slow from Crippling Strike and Wither. Additionally the keystone can be used for an engage build where you want to get in and out as fast as possible, note also that your Mega Adhesive gives one of the three stacks required to proc Phase Rush, with this being said it's definitely a niche keystone mainly used to counter Nasus and Darius.
Q Double tap
|Something you can do with Singed's Poison Trail is double tapping it, by this I mean pressing your Q Poison Trail and then instantly pressing your Q Poison Trail again. By doing this you let out exactly one unit of poison (13 mana) which still does the exact same damage in the area it is, it's just that it's a smaller area. It's extremely useful in pushing your lane and proxying whilst being mana efficient. When proxying, double tapping in between auto attacks allows you to maximise the gas cloud damage to mana usage ratio. For example, if you were to leave your Poison Trail turned on whilst proxying a wave you would use up a substantial amount of mana and you wouldn't necessary be doing extra damage (Although it would be resetting the 2 second poison application your Poison Trail gives off). The way Singed's Poison Trail works is that when an enemy stands in the area they take damage from your Poison Trail, with each puff of poison lasting 3.25 seconds, dealing damage every 0.25 seconds. There is also another part of Poison Trail which applies a poison for 2 seconds, if the enemy is standing in your Poison Trail then this 2 seconds of poison is constantly refreshed, so that the moment they leave your Poison Trail they take 2 seconds of poison damage. By leaving your Poison Trail on you're negating that extra duration of damaging because they are constantly in the gas cloud as opposed to being in the gas cloud for a split second, taking the poison damage, then walking back into another puff of the gas cloud and taking another lot of the poison damage. Double tapping your Poison Trail can also be used to quickly get a minion which is on very low health when you're farming in lane as they will die to the instant tick of damage, this is easy to do but you need to be comfortable with the timing of when you press Poison Trail and then the damage goes through to efficiently last hit with it. The dreaded 9.14 patch which added a cooldown (0 to 0.5) on Singed's Poison Trail removed this mechanic, and that is a large part of why there was such an uproar which eventually pushed Riot to revert the change.|
What Abilities are affected by W?
Singed's Mega Adhesive is a ground (Much like how Cassiopeia's Miasma is a ground or Poppy's Steadfast Presence once it hits someone is a ground) this means blink and dash abilities cannot be used whilst standing on Singed's Mega Adhesive. Fair warning, although the E Q combo Jarvan IV does looks like a dash, it isn't coded as such, and so Jarvan IV can E Q even whilst on your Mega Adhesive (This is because the way the E Q combo is coded for Jarvan IV is more along the lines of a Blitzcrank Rocket Grab where it pulls an enemy towards a target location, just in this instance it's Jarvan IV pulling himself towards a location) . Additionally, Bard's Magical Journey (The tunnel) cannot be used by enemies if you put your Mega Adhesive on the entrance. Bard's Magical Journey is coded as a dash and so if the enemies are standing on your Mega Adhesive when they try to enter they are denied. Something which you won't see much but is worth knowing anyway is that Cleanse works to negate the grounding effect of Singed's Mega Adhesive.
The Mega Adhesive cancel is where you throw your Mega Adhesive onto an enemy to cancel one of their mobility moves whilst they're channelling/building it up. Some reliable examples of this can be found in Vi's Vault Breaker where you can use your Mega Adhesive to cancel her Vault Breaker wind-up (Which puts it on cooldown), this is extremely beneficial as it almost certainly negates any threat Vi would pose in a ganking situation or a team fight. Another example of this can be found in Shen's Stand United where if you throw your Mega Adhesive onto a Shen as he's channelling Stand United, the ultimate will be cancelled and Shen won't go to the ally he has used his [Stand United]] on. The shield provided for that ally is still rewarded however, regardless of how soon you cancel his Stand United. Shen's ultimate goes on cooldown when it is cancelled.
Mega Adhesive Cancel also works on Teleports, in exactly the same way as Shen's Stand United is cancelled.
Although it used to, Singed Mega Adhesive no longer cancels recalls.
Fling Cancelling is where an ally uses a hard CC ability to cancel your Fling, this is useful when you are stood on top of your Mega Adhesive as the Fling cancel forces the enemy that you have flung to land immediately and so gets goo flung without the Fling animation going in full effect. An excellent example of this is with Urgot, where you throw your Mega Adhesive down, catch up to the enemy you've throw your Mega Adhesive onto, and then as you Fling them your Urgot uses his Disdain to disrupt and cancel the Fling so that they instantly fall in place and are goo flung.
This mechanic is hard to pull off and is rarely seen (Unless you are duoing with someone who is playing hard CC champions). Any ability that can displace enemy champions will be able to force a goo fling. This works because the requirements for a goo fling are that the enemy is flung and LANDS on top of Singed's Mega Adhesive (After it has been fully deployed). This means that whatever happens whilst the enemy is in the air, so long as they don't touch the floor outside of the Singed Mega Adhesive radius, doesn't negate the goo fling interaction. This enables knock ups and so on to override the Fling displacement so that the enemy is guaranteed to be goo flung.
|The Fling AA is extremely basic, it's simply where you land an auto-attack whilst the enemy is mid- Fling. It takes some timing to learn but once you've got a hang of it it's very easy to commit to muscle memory. Singed420 has said before that for people trying to learn to Fling AA, bind an AA action to your spacebar (Which can be done in the in-game settings) so that whenever you Fling someone you press spacebar and so always Fling AA. The niche Glacial Singed build relies on this mechanic in a lot of situations where you Fling, glacial proc with the AA, and then the enemy is significantly slowed whilst standing (Supposedly) in your Poison Trail.|

Jungle Singed is surprisingly good, and if you find yourself auto-filled into Jungle you can still do pretty well on Singed. Flash Smite or Ghost Smite are both good here, it's up to your personal preference.
The route you want to be going on Singed is Red Buff , into Raptors , into Wolves , into Blue Buff , into Scuttle /Ganks.
Singed's Q paired with the blue smite omnivamp can be really strong, and can be abused to get some amazing better-than-meta clears. Here's a video from 2017 that showcases how to abuse the then Hunter's Talisman passive (Though this still translates to the omnivamp of jungle items) to get level 3 in the first jungle clear without using health pots, and without getting a leash, and still ending up on full health. With the new items this isn't necessarily as powerful, but it's definitely worth watching! Thanks to Oplieed for bringing this to my attention.

What is Proxying? [WIP]
Proxying is an incredibly interesting mechanism in League of Legends, in a game overpopulated by the exact same gameplay, proxying has stood defiantly as the most consistent and unique playstyle in the game. For those who aren't aware of what proxying is, it is the act of (As Singed) starting level 1 inbetween the enemies towers so that it is only you and the enemy minion wave. You kite the minion waves whilst inbetween the first and second (Or second and third) enemy top towers. This process allows you to get perfect farm, as well as avoiding the enemy top laner on top of forcing them to either face-tank your minion wave (Which will chunk them in most cases) or letting the minion waves crash into their tower without any push back from their minion wave (As those minions are occupied with being killed by you). A lot of players try to proxy the first 3 waves, then they execute to a tower, then they buy items and run back to lane so at level 3 they have an item advantage without losing out on anything so they can have an advantage in lane. There are a LOT of different things that can impact this however, and that's what makes this section so difficult to do justice to.
What's Good About Proxying?
Proxying can be a game winning tactic, but more often than not it's seen as troll and can fail pretty miserably. So what's good about it? The main benefit of proxying is the amount of pressure you bring to the map, when you're in-between the top towers you're effectively saying "Hey, you have to stop farming and come stop me or I'll get super fed on minions", this pressure that comes from the way you choose to farm means the enemy top laner has to either 1. Stop you and lose farm or 2. Leave you to free farm, and tank minions under tower which chunks them and the tower. As you can see, there's no winning for the enemy top laner. In addition to causing a headache for the enemy top laner, the enemy jungler will likely want to try and pick up some free kills on you (As you'll be low health away from your allies/towers) and so will dedicate a lot of time to preventing your proxy, which is actually a really good thing. Getting camped by the jungler is normally awful, but when you're playing proxy you're looking to attract the attention of the top laner, mid laner, and jungler so that your mid laner and jungler are free to gank bot lane and secure dragons and first towers etc. in turn getting your carries fed. If the enemy jungler is constantly top then your mid laner and ADC have the jungler priority so that they can (hopefully) use that advantage to push a lead and snowball the game into carrying you. If you find the enemy jungler is hard-camping you and they're not committing much, try to waste as much of their time as possible, get them to chase you around and bait with your low health when ganked ( Ghost comes in handy here), your main goal is to create a lot of pressure and to divert pressure from your other laners so that they can take control of the map.
What's Bad About Proxying?
This beautiful image of a world where Singed can pretty much solo carry through proxying has faded a LOT in recent seasons. With the advent of bounties and changes to respawn timers as well as it being easier for a lot of popular champions to snowball AS WELL as Rift Herald being added to bring some objectives attention to the top side of the map, proxy Singed is nowhere near what it used to be. You'll find a lot of gank heavy junglers which don't need to commit much to kill you (Such as Kha'Zix, Nidalee, Xin Zhao, etc.)will snowball off your attempts at proxying, and often if a jungler starts top side for their buff they'll come and pick you off before finishing their clear. If you don't get the first three waves then the level 1 proxy wasn't necessarily worth it because you won't have enough money for Corrupting Potion and Boots (Unless you have Future's Market). The higher elo you get the harder to proxy it is because it's so popular a notion now due to Singed420 that everyone semi-expects Singed players to try the level 1 proxy, so very often their entry into the enemy jungle is blocked off by the top laner. Changes in runes means it's difficult to find a keystone that works well (Other than simply going Aftershock for the beefiness). Most people opt to play Singed as a laner and only proxy a couple of waves when they can get away with it. There are so many risks that come with proxying that it's generally considered to NOT be a viable method of climbing.

First of all, a disclaimer. Double proxying will likely get you reported and is extremely high risk high reward and so I wouldn't recommend it in ranked.
The general idea of this strategy is to go into the enemy base and use the close proximity of the top and mid lane waves spawning (Both from the enemy nexus) to draw aggro from both waves and proxy them both, this allows your mid laner to push for tower in the mid lane and allows you to get double to gold from farming you normally would. I discuss this further in my Playing Proxy series, but you generally want to see the enemy bot laners in their lane, enemy mid in their lane, and enemy top in their lane, before you go into the enemy base (Otherwise your double proxy might be stopped by people coming from base).
